Really I think if people do want proper games they should come to bronze tier servers.
Our populations can be pretty low at some points but in the tourney there was a bunch of matchups that didn’t know who would win.
I think there was one with Ferguson’s, Darkhaven and Anvil Rock where there was a scoredifference between the servers of about 2000 all the way up to the last day.
Red is good for weakest. Since you can treb 2 of your own towers from the same spot. Its easiest to hide mesmers in. So can be easy to retake all your stuff. You definitely can’t say pangloss is hard to defend either
I am curious if theres still zergs of people trying to PvD keeps when there is no commander on in the higher tiers
It depresses me when this happen when there are empty borderlands
i like to play with strategy and thats how ive built, but unfortunately the PPT is a crummy system.
if you play for fights which i understand but there must be better games than Guild wars to fight GvG or PvP. Since Guild Wars is pretty bad for trying to make organised GvG.
I struggle to be interested in anything guild related in Guild Wars either because they dont seem neccesary or because the guilds have very little to give themselves identity.
All guilds feel the same to me on GW2 but then i guess everyone does try to play the same routine as each other.

but yeh i spend majority of my time in game solo roaming im in bronze tier. Theres ‘usually’ a zerg in EB half the time is less than 10 people in EB though.
Our BL usually has about 5 people defending it
and the other 2 BLs have between 2 and 0 people
if any people or guilds would like to mass transfer to a low pop server ill be happy to join to demonstrate a point.
maybe breaking the game more is what needs to happen to force a change
the tiers better unlock now that the tourney is done. its not like we are rewarded anyway when outside tourney.
i dont know how to complain in the right way. Everybody knows that wvw is messed up. Everyone knows the ranking is kittened and the way that people get rewarded is completely the opposite of what it should be.
Everybody knows that a close match is a fun match.
Everybody except maybe Anet because there has been complaints and solutions being posted on here since the game started because to everybody playing it all so obvious.
After time of being frustrated and knowing that trying to think productively is useless since things wont change it just leaves me to think “i guess i have no choice but to find another game or something else to do”
Also to save me making another topic. Does anyone have any suggestions for laurels?
I haven’t spent any since i started playing i just get trinkets?

I’m running out of motivation to play. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be looking forward to.
Wvw is starting to feel stagnant. Everything in the game is extremely routine, there’s still heaps of maps and dungeons I haven’t explored but there’s no point joining a dungeon unless your going to follow the patterns.
I can play dark souls if want to pve
And the lore in gw2 is way too cheesy and simple for me to take interest.
This game has heaps of nice features but personally I feel no immersion
And I can barely tell the difference from one guild to another
Hopefully someday I can be bothered to spend my 600k karma and however many laurels I got. ATM I can’t be asked getting to strait of malchor
i think by the time they get around to considering changes it will probably be too late and new things will be on the market
they might as well just change it from a tournament to a popularity vote of who should get the most rewards
For me the tournament means servers are locked in their tiers
So are continually forced to fight servers that shouldnt really be in the same tier *cough*GOM*cough*

so it’s the rating not the points that effect whether a server comes 1st, 2nd 3rd, etc.?
Is there any sites or information to help me understand how a server increases/decreases its rating?

am i missing something? multiple times ive seen thieves infiltrator arrow their way up to the top of terrain. Personally i know i cant walk up cliffs and i havent been able to do the same with my thief
well the precision was almost entirely for the on crit effects.
does crit still make a difference in damage when you dont have ferocity?
My warrior is just my for fun character so im not worrying about survivability as much, my mesmer is all built around that but gets boring so need a break from it.
the burning definitely doesnt only last a few seconds it stacks duration i can easily keep the flame on and increasing it duration most fights enemies have about 30secs of burning before i kill them.
but it is pretty much just a lazy build its ok for consistent damage but doesnt really any tricks.
I was just going to use privateer since its grants might to allies as well since i plan on it being more for support and it would be more fun and the runes are cheap lol. I might consider rune of the pack.
And thanks i guess ill try krait runes with rabid or something next.
Be nice to try with siege that also does bleeding and ‘take root’.

yeah what a silly complaint
I don’t use the healing signet but I can see reasons to run it, I usually run healing signet on my warrior even if the heal isn’t as strong its saving me cast times for the heals giving me more time to use other abilities.
My main reason to not use the signet on mesmer is I like the reflect heal and I also use it to clear condis and it has low CD.
And yeh scepter definitely the best weapon if your planning to play condi with dying clones since all it skills help.
If I were to maximise condi I would go staff + scepter/ torch
Ok so at the moment I’m running a set of rampager gear with Balthazar runes just to be astrong poker in WvW via bow.
And iI run the trait that auto shouts to remove condis and the trait that reduces impeded movement.
I was thinking runes of flame legion might be better but can’t tell if power will do more or less than condi damage.
Also want to test runes of krait with sword and rifle.
and want try a might stacking build possibly with runes of privateer or perhaps a more defensive rune that grants might.
Was a bit confused on how to make this a question but I guess just curious what people’s opinions are on these builds

Hey I am just from Ferguson’s Crossing, a few more people to play with would be nice but as things are we are exactly in the middle of our WvW tier which means we have some of the most balanced fights.
Even though be good to see some new faces actually be cool if all the servers could get similar populations so that we could all have a chance of playing each other and having fun which is all a game is about in the end. We have tried to make some efforts to give some of the smaller servers more chance in WvW.
I must admit selfishly i would want people to come to Fergusons if only to make events together easier or more people to join with for WvW.
I might create a guild at some point but only if its necessary and i think it would offer something thats lacking, and if people would want it. I don’t want to be part of a guild or server that lives for rules.
I dont believe in only helping or talking to someone if they are in my server/ guild, in my opinion the only reason i would have for wanting people to join is that it makes easier to assist each other.
Feel free to come chat to me anytime i am on whatever server you are on. (i live in oceanic timezone)

Just a warning Ferguson’s Crossing is in Bronze Tier so it has a smaller than average population so this can either mean less people, or less queues and room to grow.

pretty hard to get information for this because of how many people will just say “my guild is the best”
Might be cool if there was like a revive trap like the way stealth trapworks or mmaybe just stops players ability to revive others.
But yeh will always be revival since no dedicated healers
Hey I was just wondering. Does any of your attributes effect your damage on siege weaponry.
I imagine there must at least be some things that make an influence like condition damage or maybe condition duration.
(This has also made me curious does boon duration effect boons applied by you or boons applied to you)

i dont know why people stick to PvE instead of going to wvw for end game but theres definitely still plenty of people that only do PvE. Also the megaservers most certainly havent done harm its what needed to happen if anything merging servers for wvw would also be for the better.
I think the most important thing to keep a game alive is to keep helping new players its when everything is only a routine it becomes stagnant and ends up slowly dyeing.
Well i play mesmer but i havent really specced any damage, so sometimes ill fight them just while im thinking what i should be doing and where i should be going or in hope that someone else eventually comes along but always keep skills off cd prepared to run.

Yes, for most (but not necessarily all) the motivation seems to be rewards. I’m curious to know, though, if you’re speaking to personal rewards such as loot or server rewards such as PPT and World Score points.
Even though it may not be applicable to the discussion of PPT, I would agree with you that dividing personal rewards among the number of participants would go a long way to reducing the dominance of zergs.
For example, if a reward for killing an NPC Lord is 1 silver and there’s a 50 player zerg that takes down the Lord, they each get 2 copper. Conversely, a 5 player party that kills the Lord would be awarded 20 copper apiece. This is consistent with the paradigm of low risk = low reward, high risk = high reward versus the current (broken, IMHO) system where low risk = high reward.
If, on the other hand, you’re referring to dividing PPT and/or World Score points by a server’s population, I’d like to hear your thoughts on how to achieve this. It’s an interesting concept. I think you’ll get a lot of push back, though, on the grounds it is too akin to devaluing the contribution of a server’s players.
IF it were implemented, though, I could see it working something like this:
- Let’s assume Server A has the potential to earn 495 PPT this tick; the other two servers will earn 100 PPT each.
- Sum the total number of peak players in WvW for each server for the previous 15 minutes. We need to use peak numbers rather than the number present when the tick reaches zero to prevent a server from making a mass exodus from WvW at that point in order to exploit the formula.
- Let’s assume Server A had – at it’s peak – 200 players in WvW in the previous 15 minutes, Server B had 75, and Server C had 50.
- Sum the two lowest values: 75 + 50 = 125.
- Divide this number by the largest of the three values: 125/200 = 0.625
- Multiply the potential PPT Server A can earn this tick by the result of the previous calculation: 495 * 0.625 = 309.375 (round to 309).
- The PPT Server A will earn this tick = 309 rather than 495.
Of course, it will never work because the players on Server A will complain that their contribution to the score is being devalued and it’s not their fault that the time at which they’re able to play is when their competition has fewer numbers. These would be legitimate complaints.
The system I’m proposing, by contrast, doesn’t devalue the contribution of any player nor penalize a server for outnumbering their opponents. It simply gives the outnumbered servers a much needed counter to the current domination by coverage and replaces the passive earning of PPT with a more active system based on merit (i.e. the harder a server works to earn its World Score points, the more its rewarded).
Well divided drops would do the most for discouraging zergs.
Isn’t there a reward for the tournament that goes to all the participating players? I haven’t done it before so I don’t know.
But say like if you won a round of wvw every player on that server could be rewarded gold or badges appropriate to their PPT score. But since its divided it may encourage them to go to a low pop server for higher rewards.

Id say wvw is kind of the only Endgame since your level and gear makes no difference to pvp.

yeah it nice that you have so many options to advance yourself.
but of course you are still dependent with somethings (bosses etc.) not that its neccesarily a bad thing
just wish more people played for fun which is always an issue in MMOs, people comparing themselves to others based on gear. when in reality its just down to how much time you put in
one thing i have always had a problem with when it comes to guild is that the large majority of guilds have the kind of philosophy of “contribute to us don’t help anyone else so we can be the strongest”.
And even the guilds that don’t neccesarily think that way don’t generally encourage getting to know people outside the guild unless it is to recruit them.
So because of this so many people will never end up talking to so many other people that play this game and i just think its a bit dissapointing.
Its annoying enough right now that only durious gulch and red keep are the only places that can treb smc.

Hey im still havent done most PvE stuff and id like to do alot more bosses and exploring areas and jumping puzzles and such but of course cant do it alone.
I don’t mind what server its on i don’t mind guesting, i live in Australia so oceania time zone. I play alot of WvW but id rather do PvE on a more populated server than the one i am on so hopefully you dont mind me just coming on for PvE.

all though im pretty sure the experience i had today the person would have been a more harasser if i said much, hard decision to ignore because so busy in WvW or to provoke them so they will expose themselves.
i was playing on an uplevel and they were going to indicate i was a coward for running.

how do enemies message me in WvW?
I thought they didnt want enemies to be able to chat to each other
All I want is the ability to do “something” on whatever map. There are the siegerazer NPCs which are nice but usually they aren’t usable for us because we don’t have 10 available players or if we did that’s pretty much a zerg for us and we don’t need them. Some kind of NPC assistance would be nice during the outnumbered buff.
I am playing on Ferguson’s crossing and usually on during off peak so I think its normal for me to want a little more filling my WvW experience
Well I haven’t played much but if they show me a location and are waiting for me torelog.
II’m pretty sure its not a new feature think I did it first month of release because I only just started playing again and that’s when I last played
Trebbing gets plenty of rewards if your hitting zergs with it.
I always thought it’d be cool if there were mini games or something in the towers, keeps to have a reason to stick around.
Maybe if there was some damage done with siege achievement that is re doable .

yeh honestly there are alot of servers you could merge without making a queue. and definitelynot a queue on all 4 maps.
they dont need to make every server max population just less maps with 0 people on them
i dont see why you would care about server loyalty i understand you care about your server but working with another is just like working with any other person or guild. i dont think its healthy to imprison yourself and start thinking “im only friends with people if they are on my server”
