Anyone who comes in here to tell me to use an external website to mimic a function that’s integral to the game can save their time and not post. Guild Wars 1 utilised a party system had an LFG working, and that game was around for SEVEN YEARS before this one came out.

So ArenaNET, why no LFG?

ArenaNet: “Dial F for FUN!”

Playerbase: “Are you F-ing serious?”

I’m not even asking for a LFG system like WoW, kitten no, I’m asking for the old “P” screen from Guild Wars 1.

Since this game turned out to be a supreme disappointment after Guild Wars 1, I take that a step further and play other games. They add the function of “fun to play” which this fails at.

And as usual, there’s no backstory to any of this. Why the hell are pinatas around? They don’t even remotely fit the lore. Why Holograms?

Guild Wars 2? There’s almost nothing in this game other than the setting which evokes the feel of the first game. I played GW1 for five years, came here super excited, expecting the same design ideas and a graphical update.

Well I got the graphics update, and a Z-axis that routinely screams at me that the mob I’m trying to kill is INVULNERABLE.

None of the mechanics, none of the difficulty, just a cookie-cutter MMO (without an LFG system) designed for the WoW crowd.

Thanks ANet, guess I’m out. Now I see why people left GW2 for GW1.

Guild Wars 2, the sequel to Guild Wars, departs from the formula found in Guild Wars, with a clear gear treadmill. “Exotic” weapons and gear are less powerful than “Ascended” items, and “Legendary” weapons are now and will always be scaled to be more powerful than both of these types. Casual players are unlikely to ever equip legendary weapons due to the time required to obtain the materials needed to construct a Legendary weapon. Ascended items, whilst being slightly more accessible, will still take days, or even months to equip for a casual player.

Crystin Cox showed up and destroyed everything about GW1 that I loved.

For Guild Wars 1, NCSoft pretty much let Anet have all the say in the game. There was NO micro-transactions until EotN. You paid for each of the 3 games and the 1 expansion and got all the updates for free with no sub.

IF Anet had followed what got them here and just made an updated(read open world) GW1, I don’t think you’d have 75% of the complaints that you see on these forums. As it stands now, NCSoft is just milking us for every dollar they can get till they decide to move on to the next “next-gen MMO”.

gw2lfg exists, therefore it’s not a huge rush. get groups in no time – and anet are working on implementing a similar upgrade to the existing lfg system.

You didn’t even read the OP did you? The point is why Anet are relying on an external website to provide core game function for them.

Guild wars 1 was barely a grind, because it’s entire endgame wasn’t based around skins, there was actually compelling content and story in Fissure of Woe, Underworld, Domain of Anguish, The Deep and Urgoz’ Warren

Yes, the skin grind was there, but it wasn’t the only reason to do them.
