Guild Hall tmusic and finishers audio????

For some reason when I spike someone the audio I hear is the guild hall music theme.
I can even change the guild hall music theme and the new theme plays when I spike.
I don’t understand how this happened. Is there a quick fix?

Issue 1: Skill lag
This only happens in massive fights. If it is happening to you outside of these fights, you need a better computer and or isp.

Issue 2: Server balance
What are you going to do force people off servers? People may have paid gems aka money to be on these stacked server. Opening up servers based on their stats is debatable but the present system is working just fine. If you don’t like your server, here is a thought transfer to a different one.

The changes look pretty good. I really like the upgrade reversions and the PPK implementation. My instinct says restricting hard rezzing due to combat may be fight prohibitive. The goal is to keep people in the fight. I can live with the rally nerf though I would say it will lead to excessive pin sniping. I do have a suggestion for a solution for pin sniping. Give the commander a toughness buff for each player in his squad with at least 10 players that is alive and within a certain range.

XP is LOST in WvW!

If you are not 80 then you get XP and WVW XP. Once 80 then you get only WVW XP. Look at the xp bar. If yellow then xp. If blue then wvw xp. Masteries are only pve. And yes this is a departure from ANET’s original promise that you could level in WVW or PVE pre HOT.

Sadly, yes, it might. I play the game almost exclusively for WvW. Sure, I venture into PvE sometimes because rewards in WvW are lacking, but the removal of WvW very well might cause my departure despite having been in GW2 since launch.

And for clarification, the proposed changes are indeed the REMOVAL of WvW. The maps may be re-used, and many of the mechanics as well, but WvW will be removed and replaced with GvG. I have no interest in GvG. I do have an interest in WvW. GvG is not fun for me, WvW is. If a game does not provide fun for me, I have no reason to play or spend money on it.

First off, it is consider not concider. Secondly, anyone who uses WOW as any point of reference on WVW should be laughed off the server. WOW has never ever been considered as a standard for WvW. They are strictly a PVE game with structured raids. The game GW2 WVW was modeled after is DAOC. Tri-realm fighting is the gold standard. There were even some posts the original dev’s were fans of DAOC. The dev’s at DAOC tried to implement pve content known as the TOA expansion and it drove away droves of people. The final nail in the coffin was EA bought mythic. WVWers want open world battles on a stage that supports such activity. PVE is something we endure to gear up to get to WVW.

Well if it has to be selfish switch it to Conditions Applied instead of Boons received. We have no consistent source of Boons but we don’t lack for condition application.

Blighter’s Boon

Gain life force when you apply a condition. If you are in reaper’s shroud, gain health instead.

Healing: 133
Life Force: 1%

I like this idea but the name blighters boon would not really fit.
How about giving us a chance to boon strip and then giving us life force and healing based on boons stripped?

I really don’t like the fact they gutted an entire trait without trying to reduce the amount of life force and healing first.

UPDATE: It seems there is a harsh dps check on earning a reward for killing champs in WVW. This is strictly an anti casual player implementation for those who are solo by choice or by misfortune. To fix this issue join a group if you can.

Was there changes to rewards for champion kills in towers and keeps?

Some are incorrectly pointing to a reference to EOTM to answer yes but no direct mention of genuine BL’s or EB was listed.

“Reduced Edge of the Mists rewards.

" Reduced event karma, gold, experience, and world experience by 25%.
The number of Badges of Honor awarded for capturing an objective has been reduced to be consistent with other WvW maps.
The chests that spawned on objective capture containing badges and ascended materials have been removed.
The Badges of Honor and ascended materials are now dropped by the objective’s boss instead."

I don’t understand why this would be implemented if chests were to be removed.
This would be a complete 180 of the view that wvw players should be able to earn a little something without being FORCED to pve to earn. No one could actually say they got rich off keep and tower and keep rewards unless by chance a good item popped from them. I have earned a few chest every once and a while but most of the time zero chests drop off of tower and keep champs. Could this be a bug stemming from the EOTM changes?

Also I" have been seeing keep lords bugged and patrolling outside keeps lately.

Anet need to update the daily rewards for WVW or put ruins back into the game as well as veteran creatures.

The new borderlands are far too big and complex.
They could have done more complex or made them bigger but doing both is too much.
There is a lot to like in some changes but when people can’t even find each other to fight then WVW loses it’s meaning.

Now for the bad news….

All damage modifiers were based on crappy AI mechanics of minions. Now that Minion Master necro’s can actually do damage now will result in future nerfs.

Mechanics of the great sword and Reaper Shroud seem slow and clunky. Nothing seems fluid. Lots of eye candy in the animations. The animations telegraph well and with the slowness of the attack even the unskilled players can dodge them. Damage seems low and slow as well.

It doesn’t matter how many things you guys posts about what a necro can do. Lack of mobility is the downfall of any class. Given any two classes with equally competent players, the most mobile class will usually win. Doesn’t matter which game you play the one rule “Speed is life” always applies. Instead of giving the necro mobility which Anet has repeatedly stated is against the design of the class, I would like to see some sort of skill that would debuff a class for a set amount of time which would make all movement skills fail. In essence, force a class to stand and fight without repeatedly disengaging until the necro makes a mistake. Spectral grasp just doesn’t cut it. Until we start seeing more necro’s in the big tournaments then you should consider the class subpar. I still main a necro in the end because I am still the hopeless optimist.

Since I have not researched in depth about the Revenant, I do not know what skill it is that brings about a brick laying road animation. This animation needs to be simplified down to a road appearing like any other ground target ring. In its current design state, It just looks awful, clunky, and annoying. Just get rid of the rocks flying down from the sky should be enough.

Don’t know about any nerf but there is a bug fix that needs to be made asap since grenades are doing double damage atm. Target behind your target and the grenades are hitting the target on impact and again on the ground target is what I’m being told.

I just logged into WVW and had a Pin screaming at all necros to stop running blood magic because he claims that vampiric aura was horrible in that its siphon was proccing retaliation for a net loss in hit points. Can some number cruncher test this?

That guy does not know his own changes. At 2:37 he states that CC is at 25 secs and that with master of corruption trait, necros can cast heal like every 20 secs. He might want to read his own changes. Cast time is now at 25 secs being increased to 30 secs with the 10 stacks of vulnerability and you need the trait to bring it back down to like 23 secs.

Ranger change: Quickening Zephyr no longer reduces healing by 50%. Gain Super Speed in addition to quickness when activating this ability.

I can’t wrap my head around changes like this for rangers and we get 10 stacks of vulnerability and a bigger cool down. They get plus plus and we get negative negative.
Consume conditions really kind of the corner stone of sticking it out and trying to make the necro work. Nerf it and you really make it a deal breaker for me as to the viability to the class.

I have heard of talk of servers being filled to capacity due to dead accounts that linger and block people from transferring to a server. Can a dev confirm if this is actually true?

Siege Troll Discussion

The Guild system is the only way I think trolling will be curtailed.

I would like to see a system in which siege is only deployable by a guilded toon of sufficient wvw rank. Golems should only be usable by the same standards.

If this were possible then the only thing needed to stop the offensive behavior would to have a guild member of sufficient rank to guild kick such offender.

This wouldn’t work at all. I could buy a new account today. Go farm EotM for X hours until whatever rank. Delete character and transfer to the server I wanted to troll. Make a new toon and a new guild. Rep my new guild with my new toon as I continue to troll. it really wouldn’t take much effort unless the rank was unreasonably high which would hurt new players. After I ranked up the first time in EotM then I have my troll account forever to continue to troll whenever I like.

I do agree with Cake.

There are about five people causing/have caused major problems in the past. The WvW community know who these people are, we have video evidence of it.

Wouldn’t it be more cost effective to get in there, and ban them from WvW for 30 days or something then put a ton of code time into the works that will probably be buggy and hurt the people not doing anything wrong?

I agree these accounts should be banned. It won’t solve the problem though when you can regularly buy another account for 24.99. From what I’ve seen most people who troll siege do it on a second or third account while keeping their main account on their homeworld for regular play.

It would curtail it though. Given, there should be a reporting system with TOS requirements. To make your situation less likely, the first thing I would do is raised the guild fee and or disallow siege deployment until your guild has X number of members.

I have not tested yet but some have possibly tracked it down to problems with “High-Res Character Textures” and some have found relief by making sure this is unchecked.

Update: I did not have this checked in the first place so it must be something else.

After today’s latest update, I saw no documentation dealing with crashes and lag but I think they sneaked something in because there was no game breaking lag tonight.

Entering into zerg situations in tier 1 WvW causes my fps to crawl and eventually crashes now. Reports sent in. I have never had such a problem such as this in a very long time.

Whatever you guys did to “fix” things today is actually worse than last night in terms of fps on my system in WvW. Tonight I have never really had an issue til tonight upon reaching 9fps, a first for me. Others in teamspeak reporting crashes. This is gonna make the tournament interesting. Update: I am crashing now too. Another first for a very long time. Report sent in after crash.

The bannering nerf is a done deal. Though, there will be a more annoying thing than bannering ever was and that is the siege sabotage. Time will tell but I think this will kill the use of rams entirely and siege will entail more catapults and trebs due to the fact a trick at the other side of a door is too easy to place. You won’t need a banner. Anyone with supplies and a sabotage can shut you down repeatedly. Personally I loved the never ending garrison brawls, win or lose.

How about they fix people from slipping underneath the geometry and killing off NPC’s, yaks and other things? Banners are a counter to one scenario if such cheating scum slips into a garrison.

FitG as an adept is insanely unbalanced. Just give us utility based stability, forcing it on traits really limits things still.

We don’t get free escapes because Necromancer is supposed to be one of the strongest in-fight professions. Meaning we get into the thickest part of the fight and thrive more than anyone else because we scale best in that situation through life stealing, conditions, LF regen, etc. You can see this in WvW where we are at our strongest and deal pretty high damage while retaining near bunker-levels of tankiness.

Unfortunately things don’t translate so well out of that in many builds. However assuming they balance those issues, you can’t have a profession be amazing in the thick of fights that is then also able to escape the second things get bad. That is why Thieves have such amazing mobility, it makes up for the fact that they are actually quite bad at fighting for extended periods of time. They get in, deal their damage, get out and wait for another opportunity. In this case they should be polar opposite to us.

The reason things like SWalk and Flesh Wurm are okay is because they are extremely limited in allowing you to only return somewhere you were already, with other limitations like the window of time you have and how far they take you. Both of them also uniquely allow you to go even more ham than you could without them (SWalk can let a glass build jump into a fight, blow their load all over their enemies, then warp out until they can get their stuff up again).

I believe that all classes should either have a disengage or access to stability to perform whatever role the class is assigned. As a necro, if we are not allowed escapes then we should be given greater access to stability. As of now being kicked, punted, and interrupted til dead is the norm rather than the exception. I personally believe that foot in the grave should be moved to adept and tested. If cooldowns or whatever needs to be adjusted do so. If this is unacceptable then give us an escape.

Virulence

Here is an idea whether AN can work it into the traits is unknown.
I wish there was a trait that would pop like retaliation does but with a twist.

I call it virulence.

When it is active anything within close contact hitting the necro will pick up conditions like plague form. Have it potent within a radius but easily countered by ranged attacks. Melee will have to refrain from attacks on the necro or get conditions for each attack. Ranged will have to judge whether or not to attack the necro while their melee friends are near the necro in a virulent state or risk giving conditions to their team.

Necromancer are not really desirable in PvE/PvP/WvW...

I have one of every class and I mostly WvW. My main is a necro. If you play within a group or zerg setting. we are simply AoE Gods. Elementilist’s may be able to produce bigger bursts but sustained AoE output belongs to the necro. The best part is that when necessary you can even roll with the tanks as long as you have stability.

I don’t understand any of these arguments. Anyone who dies to a necro in WvW simply deserves it regardless of their argument. A necro will NEVER be able to chase you down and kill you if you simply disengage and run off. (Most return with friends and beat the crap of the necro and the necro can’t run away.) The day a necro receives abilities to keep others from disengaging from a fight or abilities for the necro to disengage is the day any complaints on conditions gain validity.

This has happened to my guild as well. Also, there seems to be a reintroduction of the random DC bug that seems to plague a particular map. The DC map at this time seems to be EB.

Discussion: Downed/dead state and zerging

Why is this topic being debated? The downed is and has been part of the game since inception and was touted as an integral part of the game’s system. If there was any time to say you guys need to learn to play within the rule set of the game this one would be the case study. Most of these argument tend to want to push towards one’s personal play style without any concern for the repercussions within the game mechanics. For me this seems pretty much selfish arguments because I cannot succeed unless this or that change is made. The downed state mechanic is fine. ANET needs to concentrate on bugs within the game rather than messing with a system and creating more bugs.

I think that the signet should have been a regen with a single condi clear like every 10 secs or so with the active being a protection/retaliation combo on active. This way we get healing and condition removal similar to consume conditions but to a lesser extent and we get something to fend off being focused which is a huge problem of the necro imo. Let the testers hash out the specs to make it viable for balance so as not to God forbid get the the OMG it is OP so nerf it into the ground dhumfire reflex again.
