There is no MF gear in the Mists so you can’t test in on the golems… Guess why there is no MF gear there ^^
That would be because you only earn glory in pvp and there are no loot drops therefore no need to have MF gear on in the mists. Wouldn’t it kitten?
So do it on the dummies in LA or again just do a run with full MF gear compared to a group “properly” geared and provide videos which outline the deficiency.
^^
; in links cause issues on this forum so whereever you see a link with a semicolon ; in it you will need to copy and paste it.
I am Australian. SoS have a good population that run PVE & Dungeons so too Sanctum of Rall.
people could run simple tests with groups running MF gear compared to alternate tanky/dps gear and record the efficiency of the group. They could also do tests on the golems to check the impact of MF gear compared to dps gear.
EDIT: and provide video footage……..
But no one does. I think they should all believe we should take their word as expert opinion on the subject matter.

I like your choice of music. Takes my back to my younger days.

Make it so I can kitten DL a patch as soon as it becomes available, automatically instead of having to do it manually when I get home.
This message was brought to you by a Kitten with a Keyboard
Manually?
How come you have to do yours manually?
My GW2 client does the job for me, I don’t have to go phishing around on the GW website for it at all. Double Click the GW2 icon and it fires up, downloads, unpacks and applies any updates and I am done.
I never once said that groups are “broken.” You’re trying to put words in my mouth. I’m making a suggestion that they raise the cap. If you don’t like the suggestion, that’s certainly fine; we’re both entitled to our opinions. But don’t try to put words into my mouth. That’s not fine.
I said that I feel the groups are too small after playing Guild Wars for several years and being in higher-level areas with 8 people – because that was ANet’s model for Guild Wars. Since I can’t play with the rest of my guild due to the decreased party size, I often find myself having to go out into the world and Solo – which I find to be absolutely no fun at all.
My apologies, it was upon reading a poor choice of words. I did not mean to indicate that you thought that groups were a broken mechanic. I understand that your issue is the actual size limitation of the group being to small for your liking. What I meant to express was only that “groups” are not a broken mechanic so it will not be looked at as a matter of urgency.
I also didn’t say I didn’t like the suggestion either and never indicated I was against the idea. I have only ever said that I believe the change you are after will come with time.
I am currently leveling my ranger. I use the combo of Pets: Brown Bear, Arctodus & Longbow/shortbow 99% of the time in PVE.
I do swap out pets and in some situations use ranged spiders.
I generally rung three traps now – fire trap, vipers nest & entangle along with signet of the hunt and either troll ungent or healing spring. Works well for me.
You all missed the point completely, point is that no game is perfect out of the box. They all take time to reach an accepted level of greatness.
WoW is a successful MMORPG like it or hate it. It is what it is.
Everyone has their own ideas about a ranger class, you are pigeon holing Anet by saying “previous MMO’s had the ranger this way so should you. Even if that doesn’t fit in with how you view the ranger class within your game. I like it that way so make it so or you are doomed to fail!!”
You cannot simulate thousands of people playing the game and their impact & ingenuity in finding tweaks and exploits that imbalance a game. You just need a little patience it has only been about 5 months from release. The game is a baby, it will take many adjustments to get things right. I have confidence that Anet will get there because I enjoyed GW1 supremely and the changes they made to that game.
Everyone is so kittening impatient these days.
Love is a burning thing, And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire, I fell into a ring of fire
SWTOR is on a restricted F2P up until level 40, after that you must subscribe to play the end game content.
You are playing something essentially right out of the box with anything like that improvements will be made over time.
Groups are not broken which is your main gripe, it is just that groups are smaller than you like. So you have to wait until Anet decide they want bigger groups in the game or recruit three more family friends and run two groups through dungeons.
Whoever propagated the idea of a singing spellcaster needs to be set on fire. How can anyone take bards seriously?
Cacofonix
Sorry to tell you but I’m quite sure that’s wrong, the dwarves are extinct and there are no elves in Tyria.
And to OP. Put on top graphics and start translating.

Wow kittenstable in the fun police are we? Making your rounds quashing out anything said in jest?
How long does it take you do dps down a mob in full MF gear compared to Full Heal or Full Bezerk with no skills in play? I have seen some people test dps or rotations on some golems. I would be keen to see your video.
There are also other threads on this exact issue.
Just because you don’t like something or you cannot see the point doesn’t mean it should be removed fromt the game. No one has to convince you why, its already in the game. You just have to find a way to console yourself to that fact.
I’m not leet enough to need MF armor btw. I am very curious about seeing some cold hard facts in the form of a semi decent test to back up the claims that MF gear has a significant impact on the performance of a group.
None, Its like moving into your first apartment and seeing the shower looks all fancy/ new and shinning, then it not working for 3 months, then yes going back home the place you know that the old reliable shower works :P
Really? how quickly people forget the troubles that WOW had when it was released. It has only been three months. kitten people are impatient these days.
This game was in development for FIVE YEARS, ofc we are all mad that stuff doesn’t work right…. FIVE YEARS!
So wow was announced in 2001 and not released until 2004. At the time of release you often had to wait hours to log in to your account and server, random error messages and drop outs. They also released numerous patches over the coming months to address balance issues. It took a long time to get the game right.
I use WoW because it is a yard stick.
Just have a little patience GW2 hasn’t been out very long, its free to play and instead of a launch and forget they are addressing the issues periodically.
Also a bit of perspective. How many MMO’s are perfect upon release? give them a break with this kitten already.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

I named my Brown bear Sir Tanksalot.
So last night I was playing my Charr running around Diessa Lowlands as you do when I noticed something peculiar.
I was completing the quest where you have to provide water samples and as I seem to do while I was swimming I constantly tap the space bar to jump out of the water.
I do this on all my characters, for some reason I like seeing them leap from the water.
Anyway with the Charr though given their affinity at running along on all fours jumping while swimming repeatedly can produce the visual effect of running on top of the water.
I found it pretty cool and thought I would share it with the rest of the community.
They also need to add a dungeon expertise level according to how many times they’ve done the dungeon, sometimes I get the worst players that don’t know how to do anything and ruins the whole run.
Everyone has to start somewhere. Someone took you along when you were a noob. Stop being such an kittening piece of kitten and give something back to GW2 by showing new players the ropes.
If it is implemented you will have people switching willie nillie to the latest fad OP class for PVP or whatever else is going at the time. You know its true.
You chose necro, stick with it. Roll an alt for the time being. ANet will balance them all out and as soon as they do I will be rolling my MM.
People already switch to the latest fad OP class.
You only need to start a lvl 1 character…. lol
Come on. Start at level one and build your character up to 80 and then gear it. or pay $10 and instantly swap your character to the lastest OP class full of gear.
It’s just asking for trouble imo.
I would rather them fix a class and leave it polished rather than introduce a new tool to swap class.
Maybe they will up the limit at a later stage, or add dungeons designed for larger groups. Here’s hoping anyway.
They did in the first. First of all it was only 4 to a group and you could hire out bots to fill certain roles. Then you had the introduction of heros and larger group sizes to go along with expansions. I imagine something similar will happen with GW2. Just have to be patient.
Bad link.
works fine if you copy and paste it into your browser address bar.

Try a sword and dagger for your ranger.
Yes. Please see the patch notes for the 14th december 2012. It contained a few fixes across multiple classes.
Not sure why dust trap didn’t make it? it was in GW1 Core it should have been a gimme. I like the tracking Elite. Would be really useful to the PVPers not so much in PVE but I hear a lot of complaints about stealth this could be a nice counter balance.
Im a charr so I get warband…meh to two extra pets.
I would probably try to pop poison trap in there rather than spike. Spike is good but it only really adds a cripple as you can get the bleeds other ways. Adding another condition rather than adding another bleed imo is better.
You could even have your pets apply poison or other conditions. I like dual spiders personally. ranged and poison cloud is part of their normal attacks.
Thank you both for responding! Hopefully I will be able to catch up and chat with both shortly.
Shrug, the topic of the post says my experience… To me that says my opinion… Ofcourse its not a fair comparison, the OP even said that. So, all you people saying bad comparison or thats unfair because gear, thanks for wasting your time typing. Because get this…… THE OP SAID THAT. Its an opinion thread…
This.
No. I don’t seem to have a problem and there should not be an easy version.
Not sure what part of the story you are having difficulty with? I have not had a problem with my charr ranger or norn guardian in my story so far. In fact the story has been relatively easy when compared to the dungeons.
Trolls can be knocked down, crippled etc etc maybe you need to adjust your play style?
I said that having a carrot dangling in front of players for 1+ year (and no, people, 3 hours a day every single day is not casual. 15+ hours a day are anomalies) is simply not sustainable. It is medieval.
Legendary weapons should take a legendary effort to obtain. No more, no less.
I imagine ANet has a plan to release a few more expansions for GW2 that see the game run as long if not longer than the original. We do have the other Elder Dragons to get rid of! so 1+ year? nothing to a gamer who enjoys a game. Look how long some players have been playing wow AND legendary weapons are not required to enjoy the game at the top level.
3 hours a day 7 days a week is an inbetweener. Thats only 21 hours a week by employment standards that a part-timer / casual in my book.
Hi!
So I have been playing Guild Wars 2 for about a month now and have found a home server which seems to be populated with a lot of players during my playing times.
My home server is Sanctum of Rall.
It’s now time I find a guild. ideally looking for a guild with fellow oceanic players in it that does PVE, dungeons & WvWvW
Let me know!
I didn’t even notice. I don’t tend to use it much or if I do I am not in an emergency situation. I will pop my traps and evade before I use the skill.
Im not sure however. Wasn it before that when your pet was dead he still would revive ? I could swear if he gets killed during revive he doesnt rezz. Not sure if this was like that before.
Fairly sure that if he dies during the revival you have to wait and pop skill 3 again to revive him and have him heal again.
However I have experienced times in PVE when I will call for my pet to revive me once I am down and he will run over and just stand there and do nothing. It may be a bug on the AI but it is painful.
My Brown Bear is my saviour though. He can take a crap load of damage which is great while he is reviving me and getting wailed on by some mob.
I really don’t care about your boo-hoo’ing over animations. Big deal. I can’t imagine anybody else does either.
People care more about gameplay.
I don’t care if YOU realize that or not. Forcing people to deal with crappy mechanics to have “ninja animations” is extremely dumb.
Don’t push for changes that ruin peoples (yours? – haven’t seen any others) fun? Lulz, there is maybe 5% of people that are happy with how the sword is, so how about you stop defending the poor state of it
You do realize this thread is about improving the 1h sword, right?
This affects all of my other weapons and characters. That is not a solution. At all. This just further proves that the sword has issues and should be changed.
Please.
You realise you are boohooing over a weapon that functions correctly according to the devs right? Why should anyone else care that you are having a hissy fit over the way a weapon works?
The sword functions well and is great on 1v1 encounters. Like all weapons it’s situational and I use it as such. I like the animation and coupled with the dagger I love being able to jump in and out of combat. The mechanics aren’t crappy in my opinion.
I don’t see how your suggestion is an improvement? maybe a simplification of the auto attack to bring it in line with the other classes but that doesn’t amount to an improvement. Maybe in your mind it does though.
5% of rangers? really you have done the hard yards, compiled a survey of all the rangers, crunched the numbers and got the stats or are you just making stuff up to suit your argument.
I have different key setups for my different alts. They all require a different way to play them so I do not see your point here. Classes don’t all share the same mechanics. This is apart of the game, perhaps you just need to accept it and move on instead of trying to mould a class into something acceptable in your eyes.
You started this thread with a well thought out and composed post. Since then you have really declined into a semi abusive rant because others do not share your opinion. Instead of taking something on board as a different opinion you shout it down like we are a bunch of semi kitten dredge that don’t understand the game at all. Not everyone will share your opinion, get used to it kid.
I am thinking Battle cat from He-Man like transformation for “Legendary” pets….I like this idea of legendary pets.
All professions are good. Thing is though Guardian is easy mode most of the time for PVE but it can take a hell of a long time to kill something.
Warriors are a little more challenging but can burn things down a lot faster than a Guard but are squishy by comparison.
The combination of W & Guard doing PVE together would be quite fun. Very complimentary classes.
Really you need to find a class that suits your play style. Play a few up to level ten and make your choice. There are also a lot of clkitteners on the forums here who say a class is broken when for PVE most are not. IMO You need to experience them for yourself.
Raids have never been apart of the GW franchise. Not sure why they would add them now.
The Deep and Urgoz’s Warren disagree with you.
You might say those missions weren’t popular during the later phases of GWs live, but that was only because the rewards weren’t scaled up with the rest of the power creep in the game. When it was profitable(Zhaishen Bounty), pugs and guilds alike lined up like crazy to do them, because they were a lot more accessible than FoW and UW with their non completion methods.
I’m certain raids will come in the future, and I’m anxious to see what they will do with them.
With a party size of twelve they are not raids at all. They are missions, similar to the world boss dynamic events or other dungeons already in the game.
I would welcome more dungeons and the like, I do not welcome the idea of a raid where it takes an organised group of about 20+ players to clear a dungeon for a reward.
Not a fan of waiting around while a raid tries to gather enough people to run. It’s boring and like I said has never been apart of the guild wars franchise.
I would like to see a few random mini-pets in obscure hard to reach places across the world map including wvwvw that player can catch.
Also making this spawn at a different location each month could be interesting and fun.
Cheers
Don’t fix what is not broken. The game works fine as it is. There are plenty of classes that have more of a healing aspect or build to them. Roll one and L2P.
Signet of the hunt tool tip for the skill is fin and reads 25% however tool tip for the active buff on mouse over still only reads 10%.
Nah, i just decided that i had enough reading so many troll posts, I’m done with both of you
Sometimes it’s fun replying to trolls, but this already got kinda boring.
Claiming anyone who disagrees with you is a troll isn’t really a valid arguing method, even though some people sure seem to treat it as such.
God forbid people have a difference of opinion.
Just focus on clearing hearts, doing events and your story imo.
You can capture a large number of pets and have them all at your disposal. There is no best pet pick one that suits your situation.
not sure what you get with the deluxe version.
Enough arguing, better to just add to ignore and not read such trollish bs.
Don’t supply a modicum of actual evidence, just cry bs and rage quit. Juvenile.
Alt F4 much?
It really depends on your play style. Personally I would start out with either a Guardian or Ranger. My two favorite classes at the moment.
Races don’t matter so much. Pick one that you love there are no specific bonuses that greatly effect your ability to perform a profession.
You can possibly find a guild to help but people in game are generally pretty friendly and happy to help you along.
Does equipment affect a lot in this game?
It will matter at the end. Not so much on your way up to 80 so my suggestion is don’t spend any coin on gear. Do your story and use the rewards, use the loot drops you get and you will be fine.
Once you reach level 80 revisit your skills and read up on the gear that will benefit your build plus the runes that you need and go out and get them.
