Attached are the screenshots for the 8 Asura I want commissioned. I have a backstory for each if that would help the process. the peice would include all 8 of them together, so I can also include personality information as well. If more screenshots are needed for any of them, I can also provide that. Please include previous work and an offer for how much it will cost!
Thanks, must have missed that book when I scoured the library. Still sad that is all there is of Vekk, he was one of my most used heroes in GW1
It really saddens me to not have anything in GW2 that references Vekk. He was a pivotal character in gw1 and yet the only reference he ever had in GW2 was removed when magic-find was rolled into an account bound stat (see http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vekk%27s_Solidified_Aether_Circuit). Please Anet, don’t forget about GW1 Asura history. All of the other major racial counterparts in EotN have references: Jora, Pyre, Gwen, Ogden. Heck, even Anton has more references than Vekk (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Anton). Out of curiosity, does anyone else want some sort of nod to Vekk or am I just speaking crazy right now?
Josh (Striking Soul/No Name Error) and I (Beowulf Cadmus) are the only ones still active that I know of. We probably crossed swords with you back when FA was matched up against TC.
Seen your guild around, we used to roll with you in GW1 (LnR, part of your alliance)
Here’s the thing, the Omphalos Chamber is open to any old shmuck who wants to walk in. Why would we need an audience with her when I have already walked in (By myself, with no firstborn NPCs) and informed her that I was the one who killed Scarlet? It is a pretty significant oversight on the part of the writers. Even with what Yossitaru said about “aside from random non-story wandering”, this shouldn’t change anything. Going with an Ideal situation (Sylvari character who has completed every bit of story released), You are the most one of the most famous sylvari in existence. You have saved Lions Arch repeatedly, killed Zhaitan, Scarlet, avenged Riannoc, saved the order you joined from destruction and advanced to its highest rank, cofounder of the Pact, etc. If anyone has a walk-in-and-visit-the-pale-tree-anytime-I-want-because-I am-a-kitten card, it is you.
Here are some more screenies for Tnekk.
Also don’t know if it helps, but I have a short story for my Engineer, it is in the Fan-Generated Content section under the header “Tnekk’s Story”
I use a combo of t3 and magitech with Oxblood, Old Jeans, Regal and Sea Breeze
I just love this one
Might as well join the club. He even has a short story in the fan section of the forums!
I am curious how you would do this portrait, I have no clue how much you would want as payment but…
“Do you feel lucky? well, do yah… punk?”
Tnekk was at his work table adding some finishing touches to his new project as the door to his lab was kicked in.
“Where are my results, you ignorant son of a bookah! That destroyer core wasn’t cheap and I am still not convinced that your ‘theories’ are worth my investments!”
Tnekk peered up at the barrel of a red, glyph-covered rifle. His eyes then slid from the weapon to the surly asura who was wielding it. “Irro, how nice to see you again. Unfortunately, I do not have any results to give. I was knocked unconscious by the blast, and, at your insistence I might add, I made sure there was no other method of recording or observation available to the experiment. I don’t know if this is how you Inquest types always operate, but if you put all of your assistants through this sort of gauntlet of tests, I am suprised you have enough personnel to keep your krewe operating.”
“Watch your mouth, you brainless nincompoop!” Irro shouted. “Give me a good reason why the other half of your face shouldn’t match what your failure did to it! You may have impressed Prink with that golem, imbedded with it’s sleeper code and all, but I see you for what you are; a coward who can’t follow through with the simplest tasks!” The rifle began to pulsate as Irro’s fingers tightened in rage.
“GOOD DAY- Let-me-take-your-hat-brzzt-head.” A short golem stumped into the room, bowling into Irro. He fired on instinct but the impact knocked the shot wide. “I-shall-now-perform-a-deep-cranial-massage…with-my-fists.” The golem started throwing hefty punches at Irro’s head as Irro backpedaled towards the door.
“Blast it Tnekk! The Inquest isn’t done with you yet! You watch your back, because the moment you relax, We will be there, ready to collect our due!” Irro screeched over his shoulder as he ran out into the streets of Soren Draa.
The VAL-A golem stumped back into the room. “Filth-has-been-swept-out-master, Waiting-for-further-imput.”
“Please fetch my sister BUT-1R.” Tnekk got up from the table, squinting at the golem with his good eye. “Imput-received, carrying-out-imput” The VAL-A turned about and walked out the door. Tnekk lifted his new creation up to the work-lamp. As he attached the eyepiece to his damaged eye, the device hummed in response.
Decided to write a short story about my main toon, constructive criticism would be appreciated as this is my first attempt at fanfic.
Tnekk grasped at the adrenal pump grafted to his forearm, his screams of pain slowly dying into wimpers and then silence. He tried to open his right eye but only felt excruciating agony as the shards of stone that peppered his face dug in deeper. “I think he is coming back around.” someone whispered in the background.
“Stupid of him to try something like that. It’s a trick I would have expected a Dynamics student to attempt, not a plodding Statics type.”
Groaning, Tnekk slowly opened his good eye and peered upwards. His sister Fyrni was quietly conversing with a Peacekeeper medic in agitated tones. Noticing his attention, Fyrni stated, “You were listening to Master Bronk again weren’t you? I told you he is a bad influence, and now look where it’s got you!”
“Look who’s talking. How was I to know that a Thermocatalytic Reagent fused into a Destroyer core would cause it to go supercritical? You were completely incorrect to assume that the reagent wouldn’t have an effect due to the magiflux field produced by the core!”
“I am sorry to intrude, but the patient will need his rest now. If you could come back later miss?” the medic asked.
“Yes, of course, but please let me know when this bookah-for-brains of a brother will be fit to come home.”
“Will do, miss.”
Tnekk tried to rise, but the medic held him down with one hand while removing the adrenaline canister from it’s cage with the other. “How bad is it?” Tnekk queried.
Turning away to place the adrenaline canister on a tray, the medic stated, “Well, the bad news is that you are going to be almost completely blind in your right eye. The good news is, with your knack for inventing, you may be able to whip something up to compensate for it and you shouldn’t have much permanent scarring.”
“Were there any witnesses to what happened? An experiment is useless if there is no record of it and my memory as to what happened is blank.” Tnekk sat up as the medic started muttering to himself.
The medic turned back to Tnekk, a blue glow emanating from his fingers, barely missing the look of panic that briefly clouded Tnekk’s face. “No, although the aftermath is strewn about in a blast that left debris as far away as Parna’s Gate and that old lab that Researcher Orl belives is Oola the Magnificent’s. You may be able to recover some of it unless the skritt out there get to it first.”
Tnekk lay back down, and sighed in relief as the medic’s spell extracted the bloody shards of a destroyer core from his face. “Please don’t send my sister back once I wake up, I don’t think I can deal with her ‘enthusiasm’ right now. I’ll send my VAL-A golem for her once I feel up to it.” Tnekk pleaded.
“Very well, but it does not seem like she is the type to have the patience to wait.” the medic replied as he walked from the room.
“I think you have the two of us confused…” Tnekk muttered as he drifted back to sleep.
Fyrni now in her cultural armor, too poor to buy the gloves and shoes, but they don’t show that much anyways.
Fyrni, finally completed
Evidence Reclaimer, Re-allocator, Infiltrator, Marksman, etc
I finally caved in and got a Total Makeover kit, so I am re-entering my Mesmer Fyrni
Ditto, I can show you both my Asura Engineer AND my Asura Mesmer!
Sometimes there is a npc that requires you to activate the event chain; if you did not espy that npc and talk to them, you would never actually see the event until someone else does for you.
I was waiting to see how long it would take, my bet was for an even week, now I have to pay myself…
backpacks are not bound by armor type. Unfortunately, with the wraith mask, I think you would be limited to only light armor characters for availability, which is unfortunate as that mask would be epic on a guardian.
Another voice for Supply Crate as primary elite, D-Golem as a secondary option
For the record, Oola had the biggest hair of any Asura anywhere! http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Oola
Statics, Without us, you would have no one to catch you when your lab blows up in your face!
I am surprised Panzer never found this chat.
Really the only reason I have humans taking up two of my character slots is because I wanted to have a tribute to my characters from GW1, now that I have my core 8 characters, all the rest will be asura ( I have 2 Asura, 2 Human, 2 Charr, 1 Norn, and one Cabbagehead). That is really all humans are good for anymore, tributes to past exploits, Asura and Charr are the future; but mostly the Asura!
Slightly off-topic, but t2 medium chestpeice acts as a decent replacement for the CoF chestpeice and doesn’t really detract from the rest of the armor.
Each of the various professions have methods of fixing this problem,
Elementalists: Fry, shock, crush, or freeze whoever makes fun of you
Necromancers: Hide minions on you, disguised as fake ears. Excellent for sneaking corpses past security golems
Mesmers: Illusions, what else?
Thieves: Steal some from someone else
Rangers: Convince your animal friends to roost there, or sic them on whoever taunts you.
Engineers: Prosthesis hypersensitive ears
Guardians: Pray for new ears? I don’t know about this one.
Warrior: Crush those puny imbeciles with your hammer that is twice as big as you are!
All of these are modern solutions for an ancient problem.
Rawr I’m a dragon!
At first I thought he sneezed that fireball.
I have a solution for your immense dilemma! It is a 250 year old solution that still works! Just ask Oggy’s hologram about Taro Leaves today! http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Oggy
Cuteness is dependent on personal tastes and while yes, we need more, hairstyles are more urgently needed.
Proud owner of an Ancient Karka Shell (which I envision as a trinket, not an earring) and a book, and the Eternal Alchemy forbid that I wear a repository of knowledge from my glorious auditory facilitators (although that might depend on who wrote said book)!
has any 1 ever considerd that its part of asura culture to have unisex armor. gender has little role in asura society apart from reproduction it has little relevence.
unlike say human culture where gender is very important
i like we dont have skimpy armor as asura
I must know what helm/monacle krixis is wearing!
That would be Asura Medium Armor, Tier 2 Headpiece
There are some feminine pieces of armor, but they tend to be lower leveled. This chest-peice I believe is Feathered armor.
The only asura who I will let touch my ears is Miss Batanga; anyone else will be introduced to a thorough thrashing- Statics style!
You are dismissing my theory without reading:
Hair: Only GW2 Asura have “hair” afaik in GW1 they did not have
Mammary Glands: The Topic openers question was acutally how they feed their offspring since they do NOT have obvious mammary glands
Belly buttons: Well, ok like I stated before I did not know you could see them due to a glitch
Give birth like humans do: this can also only mean lifebearing, there are some lifebearing reptiles as well
Warm blooded: There is at least a theory that there could have been warm blooded reptiles, so the fact they can survive in an cold area does not necessarily mean they are mammals, especially since we are talking about an fantasy environment. So a developer-statement like posted before by Yollm is a fine proof, but your arguments are not.
Vekk in GW1 most definitely had hair and so did Oola, in fact i really want Oola’s hair in GW2
Gah!!! You ignorant bookahs! If it weren’t for Statics, Rata Sum would be a heap of slag crushing your modded golems and knowledge repositories into glittering motes of quasi-energetic particulate matter! If it weren’t for statics, you would have to form golem trailer parks instead of those beautiful, stable, comfortable, FUNCTIONING laboratories that we pioneered!
On a side note, I highly suspect that Efut was a graduate from the college of statics. She is a bastion of magnificence!
A combination of 3 different armors, Heritage Body and Pants, Emblazoned Gloves, Shoulders, and Feet, and Noble Mask. The dyes were Heirloom, Chalkboard, and Frost. The rifle is the Pact Shotgun.
I don’t think he was thinking of the spear chuckers, more along the lines of a phalanx or the like.
Tnekk; renowned chef and exterminator. Who knows if his hobbies ever cross paths?
P/P : Elixirs H, B, C, Rad Field, Supply Drop
Traits 10 (V) 30 (IV, VI, XII) 0 , 30 ( II, X, XII) 0
6 Runes of the Undead, Sigils of Perception, Air, and Earth ( Switch to Earth after 25 kills in Perception)
Carrion Armor, 3 Ravager Pistols (1 of each sigil)
Accessories: Celestial (Karka Shell), 1 Zerker Earring, Amulet, and 2 Rings, Rare Cavalier Spineguard, All accessories have Zerker suffixes
All equipment is Exotic unless specified otherwise.
This build is meant to keep me alive with my poor internet connection and crappy computer; any advice to improve my survivability without sacrificing DPS (or vice-versa) would be much appreciated.
Personally, I like to go with Perception + Air ( the Fire + Bloodlust combo for people who are poor like me) Then switch to an Earth pistol once you have 250 precision. You get an extra lightning strike (or flame burst if you have the fire sigil) and bleeding double stacked at least every other hit. I know this isn’t optimal, but it costs a good 10g less than some of the other combos like Fire and Bloodlust.
I can’t really give that one a good rating, it rubs me the wrong way. 5/10.
I posted earlier on this thread about Doroga Icemaul (warrior), but I recently created a new Charr, and therefore must add a new entry to this thread.
Celia Shadowstitch (thief). A member of the logistics portion of Iron Legion. Anything that the legion is short of, she can get. Her fahrar was particularly adept at leatherworking and tailoring and thereby was named the -stitch Warband. She didn’t want to spend the rest of her life back near the quartermaster’s tent so she used her knowledge of knots (etc) to render her marks helpless.
(on a side note, +1 if you know what her name is referencing)
