Thanks for an awesome game!
Fall Goliath
Hello,
I am enjoying the game thoroughly. I thought I would let you know about the personal story I just completed with my Asuran Theif.
With the actual mission itself, the golems are set to attack and I must defeat them. It appeared that all of the golems aggroed me at once, essentially downing me within a few seconds.
Also, at the very end of the story, in a conversation with Zojja, she congratulates me on joining the Priory, the order I have chosen. However, her voice over says the Virgil.
I managed to defeat the mission by repeatedly using pistol whip, which stunned all of the golems that stood in front of me (they aggregated to a single point, mostly). Then, when I ran out of initiative, I would get killed. At that point, there was an NPC (I forget his name, but he introduced Gorr at the beginning), would res me continually.
So, there were a few issues I thought probably were not intended.
1) All of the golems aggroed me at once, congealed in one location in front of me and then killed me very quickly
2) Pistol whip allowed me to stun all of the golems at once before doing substantial damage and then die again
3) The leader NPC recieved zero aggro or damage and stood over me, allowing me to rez again and again until all the golems where defeated
4) Zojja voiced Virgil when she should have said Priory
I am including an imgur album of two screenshots I took and I’ll attach the one of the NPC rezing me with no damage.
Thanks for a great game!

Please submit bug reports if you’re encountering dropped audio in cinematic conversations. While we’re aware of a handful of missing VO files, you shouldn’t be having widespread issues like this. Screenshots or quotes from the text help us immensely.
VO’s are missing everywhere dude. i dont think youre missing that many files, so it’s probably a bug you have to work out. no matter what personal story (human, sylvari, norn), sentences are missing from NPC’s you talk to in the cinematics
Over here in the bug reports section, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Audio-Problems-with-all-storyline-conversations it appears it is a very wide issue.
I have experienced this too. I thought that it was due to playing with my friend in a party, but everyone seems to be experiencing the same sort of issue. This started showing up for me on Sunday.

I think that it would be a good idea to make this kind of option available in a future update. I believe that such a change would be received well if it was an option available to everyone if they wanted it.
I agree with ArenaNet that 3rd party mods should not be allowed and that any potential updates to the UI be release officially and universally to keep a level playing field.
So please consider releasing this kind of UI update

It seems to me that in terms of melee combat, it makes the most sense to roll Asura simply because of the size difference. Is this assumption true? Or is the game setup to give say both the Norn and the Asura the same hit zone sizes?
Why, outside a preferences of visual style, would you ever play anything else in a high stakes tourney for example?

I have seen “hacked” messages all over the forum, but I am cherry picking this one because Gaile has asked for suggestions on how to improve.
…in the end, those being affected by this problem are not using appropriate security measures, most likely are using credentials that were used elsewhere, giving a would-be thief the info s/he needs to steal the GW2 account.
This is true. Even if you guys required a username like “Ritz” rather than an email address, if I have another account online name Ritz with the same password, I’m just as exposed.
If someone has your account name and password, how do you suggest that we protect the account?
Many people call for a confirmation, but as long as the thief uses a real email address, requiring a confirmation isn’t going to help much when the confirmation email is sent to the “new” address.
But I don’t think is what people mean or expect, even if the following isn’t practiced very often. What if the policy was to require a confirmation from the pre-existing address (or perhaps… both)?
Sure, this would lock out users who no longer have access to their old inbox… but I think that in most cases, users are moving from one valid address to another.
tl;dr: Require a confirmation when changing the email address that must be approved from both the old inbox as well as from the new inbox. This would seriously limit the amount of customers who have lost all methods of recovery due to hacking.
Would it not be a lighter burden to deal with occasional lockout due to changing ISPs and losing access to an old inbox, rather than deal with the constant stream of “help, I’ve been hacked” tickets?
We have one form of authentication and will soon have another. We’re putting in safeguards for players.
This is good news, please consider everyone’s suggestions, although I am sure you do.

First of all, my own experience says that the poisoning of the well in Queensdale has repeated in my personal playtime 11-15 odd times.
That said, this is a game. Yes, its a persistent world but there is also a lot of player churn. I roam through Queensdale and I participate in a dynamic event. The next player who just signs in after victory will not see the well poisoned. Typical quest hubs would simply keep the well poisoned forever with a constant stream of mobs forever.
Does the whole thing repeat 5 minutes later? Maybe, but then in a starter zone like Queensdale, there could be tens or hundreds of new players who have just arrived. This is where ArenaNet hopes you have an imagination.
Personally, I role play. I go through a zone, uncovering the map and doing renown hearts. While I complete those, I help in some dynamic events. Once I’ve cleared that map, my own story in my head is that I have helped save that part of the world. Of course its all illusion, its a fantasy game! But that certainly beats sitting around in a zone new to me that is utterly destroyed and unrecoverable for 5 days. Or perfectly peaceful for that long too.
Perhaps they could tune and tweak the frequency of the dynamic events, but my personal opinion still stands. Even if it repeats every 5 minutes, there is 5 minutes of impact that other players will be affected by. And that is better than a static quest hub any day.

Ha, I was trying to go back on from a topic on this particular sub forum and I couldn’t. Then I found this topic. Same here. Firefox 15 on Windows 7.

This game is fantastic and has lived up to much of my expectations. However, I have some feedback with the home instances…
Basically, The home instance needs to be more creative. From what I recall, the home instance was one of the items that ArenaNet really wanted to hype before the release of the game. However, especially for the Asura, my home instance is a big empty void.
Some have suggested player housing and that may or may not be viable (think of all the gem store purchases for home decor items!). But I think that something should be done to give us an attachment of some sort. Make our home instances feel like home or why bother isolating and calling it that?
You guys innovated with instanced resource nodes (I can see an upright tree, despite another player in front of me chopping their instanced resource down). Maybe you could do that for home instances? Could we see smoke billowing from the distance due an explosion? Other effects due to circumstances that are visible in the open persistent world that only our perspective can see?
And on a separate note, as I explored Divinity’s Reach for completion, I had to go through the human home instance for POIs. Let me say that Divinity’s Reach feels full of life. It’s breathtaking. And while I can’t say anything about change over time for the Human home instance, it certainly feels more alive than the Asura home instance will ever seem to have.
I hope in expansions and content to come that the Asura home instance, and perhaps all home instances are injected with a breath of fresh air, like so much of the rest of the game.

I’m going to go in with my own information too. This is running through Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro Retina using Bootcamp.
No noticable issues, using auto detect, although I have yet to try WvW. However, I thought you might like to know how this hardware handles your game as well. Attached is my dxdiag.
