In my opinion traps are something that you put in silence. You make your own battle area and when you use traps you are less of a direct fighter but more tactical.

If you want direct fighting then Traps aren’t for you.

We won’t have a major presence at Gamescom this year no, though a number of senior staff will be flying out to attend the community party that weekend at Gamescom to meet everyone and share a few beers. Make sure to stop by if you’re there for the show!

We can tell stories about how the beta’s where and how it was before Patch ###. I don’t need to show people I played this game since the BETA and such.

Aetherblades = Crimson Skull?

I watched the Wooden Potatoes recap and he pointed out there that it maybe was a possibility that the Aetherblade pirates could be the predecessors of the Crimson Skull pirates. First of all because Mai Trin has a sort of Canthan look on her. Second the flag of the Aetherblades does look like a skull:

Then again this could be nothing at all as the two flags don’t look like each other at all, other then the red colour.

So here is my suggestion that is already been asked by more people. I am trying to put it in a spotlight back again. Anyways here I go…

In Guild Wars 1 we had the ability to respect at any time in a city or outpost via templates. The points where put where they should and you would automatically get the skills you should be using.

Guild Wars 2 works totally different then 1 so here is my idea how we could do this.
First we shall probably never get free respeccing. But maybe we can get a sort of items to be bought in the Gem Store or just a new mechanic we can use anywhere. That you can reset your points everywhere in the world. For the fee you normally have to pay that is. So that when in a dungeon you can switch to that trait you would need at that time. Or we look at the far other side and see what WoW gave us: Dual Spec. You could switch to two different builds at any time in a dungeon. If you can give us two sets this way we can bring up more roles and don’t need to put time in to respeccing everytime.

But wait, we also have armor what about that? Well give us a so called Equipment Belt which can hold 3 different sets of Weapon/Armor/Trinkets/Accesoires. You click it and you automatically wear that set. This way you can have a zerker set with you and two other sets your prefer for other content. For example I have both a Zerker and Rabid and set at this moment. But it is a sort of drag to keep switching between them. So this way you have a quick en convient way to do this.

Thanks for the feedback everyone and please keep it coming. Personally, I find that one of the hardest parts of being a desginer on GW2 Live is coming to terms with the fact that not every update will please every player. We do our best to deliver appealing content with enough variety to keep as many people as satisfied as possible. And If there’s one thing we can do consistently, it’s improving the experience of said content each time. I think we made some great strides with the Jubilee. I think we have a lot of room to keep growing. But our team isn’t done yet. We’ve got some exciting things coming later this month. Things you’ve never seen in this game before.

But in the mean time, please keep telling us what you’re thinking. We are listening. Not only to what you’re saying but also to what you’re not. The very first living world team actually did the thing some of you have called for. Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare. Granted, Halloween may have stolen the show. But those events are still in the game today. I’ve seen very little reaction to them, however, positive or negative. Despite this, there are many events I would still like to add. Many zones and bosses I would love to revisit. As we get better at the living world, I strongly suspect we’ll have room to get around to them as well. Assuming that’s what our players really want. You are all the second half of the collaborative process, so thanks for helping!

Well, you are talking about Modus for example and I actually loved to fight them. Randomly finding the Skritt Thief was fun also. But you know, like most people who play GW2 are casual based. Most people also don’t really look for those things. The world does change slowly, with new conversations on NPC’s.

But the thing is, we want story. And while there is enough story in Guild Wars 2, no guys there is, just start reading texts instead of rushing trough every explorable dungeon for a reward for example.

I think people want the story to be more placed on a platter where you can see it. Or give hints in the main update of where people COULD find some changes. Like for example if we have Halloween and there are things changing in the Shiverpeaks that some random Norn starts talking about: Hey have you heard about…..

Something like that. I think this way people find their ways to the NEW content and don’t think it is old. I mean I am playing this game since beta and I also have actually sometimes no clue what are new updates or where longer here.

That said, I like exploring a lot more with Dynamic events. I actually don’t like the Heart Events as they most of the time are so long and dragging. So if the future will get us more Dynamic Events I will 100% salute this.

Look at GW1 and how you told story there. And maybe bring it togheter in the Living Story updates.

I’ve just about given up. I know the mechanics inside and out, but I either screw up in phase one, or fail miserably in phase two. This fight is in the same vein as the clocktower, which is the bad kind of challenge.

No, it isn’t. Because you can’t make it. Doesn’t mean it is a bad kind of challenge.

Why should every ACHIEVEMENT be made possible for everyone? Clocktower was amazing. And when I finally did it. kitten , I felt so kittening good. It’s a challenge and an achievement to do it. If you can’t nobody is going to look down on you that you can’t. Liadri is hard and I don’t have her either yet. Maybe I won’t even be able to defeat her at all. Well, that sucks balls then.

The meta achievements don’t need everything. You can do it without them. If you really want to get it, play it more, practise more. It will take time. Why does everyone want everything to finish in a couple of hours. I can’t compute it.

First: I am happy with the things we got.

But I do miss some new skins for Pistols for example. So my question is are we getting even more different skins in the following update? This for all weapons.

Or future updates give us new skins? Or will they be randomly put in secretly?

Second Question:

Maybe also fun to have those special skins have a little text. Maybe something what they are. Like the Zenith Weapons say: A Sign of Power

To be honest, I get what OP is getting to. But I don´t agree with him. I find myself enjoying this content. And like with every content this can be your or cant be yours. If you start leaving the game cause some things don´t go the way you want it to go. Nobody is going to miss you at all.

Other then that I don´t see the reason why you can´t come back later after things cooled down. I mean, it´s not that your characters will be randomly gone after not playing a while. Sure, you will miss out content. But hey, kitten happens mate!

You already payed for this game and you found it awesome. But at some point you stopped liking it because it didn´t go the way you want it to go. Take a break, they are listening to us. And bit by bit giving us new things

I am actually very impressed. I started the game a few times already but then it didn’t really get me. Now I feel guilty of having not played it any sooner.

I am right now in Factions and Cantha is amazing. I now get why people want it in GW2. The vibe and music are something different then you get from the Tyria we now know.

Also I really hope they will put missions in GW2 like they did in GW1. Anyways I think I will not mind to grind my 30/50 or even 50/50 points like this. As I enjoy the game very much. There are so many things in GW1 now.. that would be awesome to see in GW2 that I hope that at some point ArenaNet just looks at GW1 and say: Maybe we should put some things from GW1 in to GW2…

Wow, I missed that, assuming what you say is true. To say that improving tools to better help the community communicate and facilitate interaction was not a priority is just pure stupidity. I’m beginning to think that Anet is full of savants. They make a really pretty game but it just seems more and more like they don’t know how to interact with people. It’s as though numbers are absolute and human idiosyncrasy are irrelevant to these guys.

(argh, I’m not sure idiosyncrasy is the best word for it but I can’t currently think of a better one.)

Wait what? I find ArenaNet on of the companies that actually listens to it’s fanbase. While they still need to follow their own or NCsoft rules and path. They actually listen to what we want and know where we want changes in.

People expect that some things are just easy implented but I think that some of the coding and balancing needed is hard sometimes. I agree that they need to change the Guild User Interface and how it all works. But saying that they don’t know how to interact with people is just nonsense.

Still this post about the guild changes that should come is build up very well. And I can’t agree more with it that something has to change. While they indeed said that this isn’t high priority I agree at some levels. (Class balancing and bug fixing should be higher) I hope they actually will give some small updates on it and make a larger one later.

I hope someone of ArenaNet can put their thoughts on this so the fire get extinguished quickly.

Hey my fellow Engineers,

At Reddit I found a nice topic about what kind of new weapons would you like for certain classes? So as we have the Engineer as my main class I started thinking of what can we give the Engineer?

The Engineer is most of the time a sort of odd one. It doesn’t have any Melee weapons and it uses a shield next to a pistol. So why don’t keep up this walk and think of some ‘genius, Mad Scientist’ set!

Beginning with a weapon many Engineers want to be able to use:

The Hammer

The hammer is only used at the moment by the Heavy Armor classes and both Guardian and Warrior use the hammer. Which is mainly based on Crowd Control.

On the Engineer I want to bring it up a different way.

The Hammer of the Engineer would be based on Explosions/Implosions. Some of you probably know the anime: One Piece. (if not go watch it, its awesome.) Somewhere at the beginning an villain of One Piece uses all of different kinds of gadgets and one of them is a spear with the ability to explode on contact. So I thought why not use this for the Engineer.

Some of you thought about the Engineer Hammer as a Magnetic sort of weapon but in my opinion we could use the Shield for that! And I will come back on that.
Returning on the Hammer

Hammer will be based on Conditons and CC

Abilities:
1: Bash your Foe —> Bash your foe again --> Bash your foe and explodes on contact, makes a Blast Finisher.
2: Hold to heat up your Hammer. Damage and burn durations depends on how long the ability has charged.
3: Leap and slam the hammer in the ground pushing enemies back
4: Slam the ground giving it an implode effect and pull foe’s to the center.
5: Swing your hammer, which sends out a high pitched shockwave which fears/torments your foe

Something like this would be an awesome Hammer for the Engineer. Most traits could be found in the Power Line of the Engineer and traits based on explosions would also help your hammer abilities.

I was talking about Shields just now and I am thinking why not give the engineer dual shield. This gives him a tanky melee variant. It would be a bit like boxing

The Dual Shield

1: Bash your foe —> Bash your foe with an electrified shield and daze him for one second (This effect can not be on the same person for 15 seconds)
2: Magnetize your shield sending projectiles to you and block/absorb them. Reactivate to pull foe’s towards you in a small radius.
3: Coat your shield in Acid. Burning and poison your enemy for the next 3 attacks.

A third weapon people thought about was The Torch. I have some ideas of it but they would also be about explosions and burning. And I think the Engineer has to much of that already. Another idea for the Torch was: it giving buffs on some of your skills with a trait or when used togheter with certain turrets gives an extra effect on them.

Again this is just something I thought of. Maybe some of it is pretty stupid. I hope you guys have much more ideas on this and I would love your feed back on it.

Can you maybe elobarate more on this? Maybe give us a little sneak peak of how the story would go. I mean we KNOW what FoA will give us. But we have no idea what the story of Thaumanova Reactor would bring. And if you bring it on par on something with, what seems, most people are psyched about from nostalgia reasons. Then there should be a bigger story in it.

After the announcement of Bazaar of the Four Winds I asked myself: “Why do I keep going back to Tyria?”

After some thinking I knew why. ArenaNet releasing free content every month and now even every two weeks. This content is then here for a month or sometimes permanent. You can get rewards by playing this content. Even if it is a title or a mini pet, it shows that you where active at that point. And you can show it off if you want.

I had moments that I didn’t play that much anymore. But everytime I saw what they released and I really wanted to play. I would go for achievements to get a title or get a reward. Maybe I am arrogant or egocentric on this subject. But I really like to show these things off.

In my opinion the difference with for example WoW or SWTOR which ask for a subscription to play. I know for SWTOR you don’t need to. But be honest if you want to play the game normally you need to pay or you have some restrictions.

But Guild Wars shows us that you don’t need that. You can make a free game and let people decide themself if they want to pay for the game. As long as you let them keep playing you have a chance they will use money to get certain things.

I have so many RPG’s left to play like Xenoblade, Ni No Kuni or Tales of Graces. But I never find the time because I find myself immersed in the world of Tyria. Sometimes the content is great and sometimes it has some issues. But slowly ArenaNet is making the contents better and better. While listening to the community and dedicated players alike.

So here I also want to say:

Thank you ArenaNet. Thank you for this game. Thank you for the world you have made.

Obsidian Sanctum for achievement, really? [merged]

Anyone seriously offended by people pvp-ing in a pvp zone needs to take a step back and calm down.

Why you would expect others to adjust their playing according to your desire and contrary to the rules of the game is completely beyond my understanding.

Why? Because Aetherblade doesn’t have anything to do with WvWvW. Then they put it in WvWvW totally randomly.

People who have lost their keep can’t even go in the Puzzle at all. And if you can go in, you get camped and killed.

Why not put Legendary Mobs at every cache.. maybe 5 at least or more. So we never make it.

They give us PvE content in a WvWvW envoirment. If your server is losing you can kiss that achievement goodbye. Maybe people like you don’t mind it. But people like me do, I want to have everything completed. I don’t care about the meta being 12 or 4. I want everything, just to feel good myself.

Like I said in the post I made: Give us an immunity that we can get the achievement without being disturbed. But that also means not be able to opens the Mistwrought Chest. The immunity stops the moment you use a waypoint or leave the instance. So you can’t put it out yourself. You click it you have it untill you leave the instance. Or use the waypoint. This way people can do it. And the WvWvWers can fight each other.

Solution for the Blackout Cache

Make a temporary NPC who gives players a immunity buff. They can’t be attacked by other players. But they also can’t open the Giant Misthwrought Chest. This way people who just want to fight there can do so. While people who are doing the Jumping Puzzle can also do so without being disturbed.

Else just change the spot somewhere closer so people actually can get it.

Not in WvW, it’s not. The entire puzzle is BUILT to make people fight eachother in it. It has lots of traps to activate, and chokepoints players can use to screw with people.

It is grieving the moment you kill people who want to get everything they can. For example there are people who make their hobby getting every achievement. I also want most of the achievements. They wanted to make it difficult. Well they did, they made it so hard the fun is gone. People who just want to finish their achievement are left out.

This is grieving. Even if you are in WvWvW. There is a difference when there is a certain achievement to be earned at some point and they make it so that you MUST join WvWvW to get it. Even if you don’t like it.

Community's Engineer Shout-out: Turrets

This is probably already a subject that is posted serveral times. The Engineer is a very interesting class. And in my opinion, a class unique to Guild Wars 2. Sadly the Class is underpowered.

There were to major keypoints brought up to play Engineer:

Kits and Turrets.

While we have many problems with the class the major one is Turrets. And this topic is all about ideas to make it better. And hopefully a Shout-out to members of the Arenanet team to let us know what kind of ideas they have for Turrets and the global future of the Engineer.

So what kind of ideas should make the Turrets better?

Survivability

No-Damage

Make it so Turrets don’t get damage at all. Turrets get blasted out to soon and there is nothing you can do about it. Turrets should be a skill that stays a moment and can be used on different places.

To counter the god-mode of the Turrets is that they only stay online for like 1 minute. This way you can’t spam them. And they are actually used for something.

Merg Traits and change them

Make the Metal Plating and Autotool Installation merge and make it so that instead of 30% less damage dealt on turrets. Change it to be a double amount of health or make it so that your healing power/Thoughness/Vitalty an percentage of it gives the damage reduction, more health and more healing per second. Make it so that they are part of us.

The Walking Turrets

Gives us a new trait which make us able to augment the turrets with spider-like, legs. They move with us like pets. This way they survive, hopefully, more AoE attacks and we are less grounded by the Cooldowns of the Turret skills.

Global

Give the turrets better AI, let them attack the same person we are targetting. Not that we are fighting the boss and my turret decides that a crystal is more scary.

These are just examples. I am going to post more later on. But I want to play some Aetherblade now. I like to know what you guys think and what your ideas are.

Well in my honesty I suspect that the Rich Dragon Coffers can be bought with a great chance of getting a ticket. Or maybe even 100% chance getting a ticket. Which would be alright in my opinion. If I can get at least one ticket and then have a chance to get more and still have the chance to get a mini why not?

Read that page again.. very… carefully.

I have no idea where you guys can read that you can buy them in the Gem Store. It seems that they only drop at this point. In my experience I read this as:

- They only drop when Dragon Bash is happening.
- You have a chance that a Rich Coffer drops.. which certainly drops a ticket.

Look I am not sure this is what is happening. And I hope that I am right and you guys are all wrong. But I have red those pages a few times and how it is stated on the page is that those items aren’t going to be sold at all.

Last Stand at Southsun: Feedback/Opinion

Today was the day we would have a Last Stand in Southsun. Here is my feedback around it.

Storywise

I was really looking forward for the story to continue on the refugees. Fire and Frost made a cool ending. Especially for free content I found it well excecuted. Storywise it was cool. And the sequel to the refugees was something I was waiting for.

I expected nothing at that point. And I was surprised. The content was challenging if you went for it the challenging way. (Find everything yourself instead of walktroughs) And talking with all the characters and NPC’s made a story whole. it. We found out that Canach was the one behind the problems on Southsun.

So just now I got the letter. I was hyping up after seeing the little teaser on the internet. It was looking cool to do. So I awaited it and I found my mail in my mailbox that Canach was found in his lair.

Canach’s Lair

Right away I did the single player mode. I went in to see two NPC’s waiting for me… I could talk to them. But they said nothing. I was like.. ok. Cool people who fight with me and help me.

So I walked around and found Canach, without any reason he attacked me. I couldn’t damage him directly so I used the mines. The mechanics where annoying. The music in the background wasn’t even there and the fight was far from story driven. At some point he died from walking in his own mines. And the would be genius got trapped by the Lion’s Guard. He was talking about his plans which would seem that some targets would going to happen and the contracts would be destroyed at some point. Freeing the Refugees from their commitment towards the Consortium.

We already know that the contracts will be fine, because the achievement is telling that us.

The whole story is in my opinion gone now. We didn’t got cool cinematics or something like that. We just randomly did everything. Not to speak to the Subdirector NULL fight. Which also could have been GOLEM X. This content wasn’t epic. Was far from it enjoyable. And was just bad, really bad.

The Secret of Southun gains my blessing. I liked the Crabtoss. Storywise it was cool to follow but could have been better due cinematics. People don’t tend to read everything. The Last Stand at Southun is just plain horrible at this moment. Not everything is ready, no Karka Queen or Contracts.

But the excecution of this update wasn’t good. I know, we should be thankfull for everything we get. I mean it is free. But no, this wasn’t good at all.

I hope it gave some insight in what went wrong.
But what could have been better?

- Less RNG
Gives us more fixed rewards instead of RNG Crates. Give us tickets to choose or own skins. Or even make Light/Medium/Heavy armor themed sets to buy in the gem store.

- Better ways of story telling
To make the site also a medium of story telling. You lose some of the people who only play the game and read the story in the game. Make it so they actually are focused in the story by making cinematics!

- Better mechanics in Boss Fights
Make fights more epic. Find more mechanics like they do in World of Warcraft. It has tactics. This is something I also would love to see more in the dungeons we have now.

- When content isn’t finished: Delay it.
In MY opinion this content wasn’t finished. It could have been waaaaaay better. I think that somehow had some issues. The whole release feels clunky and the dungeon feels like a beta phase.

Farm in SouthSun in the water. Sawtooth bay for example is great for the Tuna and Sharks.. I got 8 Armored Scales in 30 minutes. I got 3 Gold in a 30 min with the buff. No other MF items!

Engineers are cool. They are a new sort of class, they still need much fixing but I have an idea!

I was going to bed and most of the time you get perfect ideas, rethink your life etc (Shower is also a great place).

So here I was thinking… when I thought wait.. what was the previous story about? What weapons did we get… Fused weapons… what if… to put it Story Wise… the Charr and maybe Asuram found out how to fuse and unfuse weapons. What if this kind of improvement would work for the classes who work with the oil en gadgets.. what if you where able to fuse skills from a same group with each other to give them the benefit of the two or even a whole another effect. Giving PRO’s and CONS for the new fused skill.

FOR EXAMPLE:
Fuse two turrets with each other:

Rocket Turret + Flame Turret = Flame Rocket Turret

You could even switch the ‘Engineering Tree’ with some new traits. Like a new Grandmaster Trait could be:

Be able to fuse Gadgets with alle groups.

FOR EXAMPLE

Grenade Kit + Throw Mine= Throw Mine Kit

Range decreased a little, Increased Damage, Mines explode on contact or wait 20 second before exploding. Splash Damage decreased. Condition Duration + Damage decreased.

Bomb Kit + Throw Mine = Lay Mine Kit

Mines explode on contact, increased splash and condition damage.

These are just an example. I have no idea if it would work. But it would make the Engineer class even cooler and more quirky than he already is. It would make the Engineer a Jack of All Trades like class.

I am looking forward to see your reactions. And what you guys would change in my idea or you think it would be a very bad idea.

True, I am also done with buying RNG crates. Done it every time. Now I am like… well why should I? The skins aren’t that cool first hand. I was lucky two times (got fused and wintersday with tickets)

So yeah, I guess I should just wait and see what happens. I wanted a Scilit skin first.. but now I think.. the backpiece is alright, though I would love to see a token system like SAB or letting us buy them directly on the Gem Store. I already payed to much for them but w/e. I am buying some gems again and just hold on to them at some point… I really wanna have the consortium sickle.. well for 800 gems.. not more.

I made a similar post in suggestions but thought I would make a new one also here, to see if the flood of posts wouldnt bury it. First of all this isn’t a complaint. Cause I knew beforehand that luck and RNG are working here ^^

I play GW2 since the beta and I still love the game. I pretty much sinked some money in gems because Arenanet actually deserves the extra money with this game they made (I actually enjoy it quite a bit). Anyways, that is not the point.

My point is the suggestions I want to make and want to know how others are thinking about it:

We have had some new updates and themed skins now. And in my opinion the best themed update wasn’t Wintersday or Halloween. No, not even the Frost & Fire update (though it was pretty cool to do).

In my opinion SAB, was worked out the best. Kudo’s for the developers who worked on this. But why did I find it the best themed update? Because that we had the option to play SAB many times. KNOWING we would get a skin of a certain weapon of choice. Without putting money or gold in the game.

I know that this is probably something to let people buy gems for with money. In an economic standpoint I see why they do that. But in my opinion you would make the experience of your playerbase much better if there was some sort of token device which for examle, people would get by doing the achievements. You get a token for certain achievements which helped the story for example. Or when you finish events you have a chance to get a token. And for 100 tokens you can buy a weapon skin for choice.

That’s what I liked about SAB. I knew I would get a skin I really wanted by playing the content you I was given. Now it is:
Put Money or put Gold in the game and have some luck to get a skin.
I know in a commercial point of view, why it is done the way they are doing it now.
I think because you want to make some of the skins ‘prestige’. You don’t want everyone to walk with it and this way you also make money of it.

Though I think if you would make something like a token system.. for example get a token only with a daily achievement or special events which have a chance to drop one token a day. Just enough for people to get 1 skin at least if they play the content average to dedicated + you could let the tickets or skins be dropped out of Crates or Monster via the RNG

For example, I really want a Scepter skin of this set. I bought 12 crates, no luck sadly. I have a winters weapons, a fused weapon and such. But no luck in this one sadly. Which doesn’t mean I hate it. I just hoped to get one. While I had the fused ticket after three keys and the Winter’s Day Ticket after one.

TL;DR
So yeah, this is my suggestion. Make a system which was used in SAB, where people have to get tokens which can drop from achievements, daily events, mobs or something else. While also having the chance getting drops in crates by mobs. This way dedicated players would keep playing your content. And not stop after a few days because they have all the achievements.

Hopefully you could implent it in the future! And would love how other players think of this.

You can still use the RNG, like SAB to let the Tickets or skins drop from the crates for the lucky people.

tl;dr
So yeah, this is my suggestion. Make a system like what happend in SAB. Where people have to work/farm/grind to get tokens for a skin. While also having the luck by getting a drop from a mob/event/achievement.

Hopefully you could implent it in the future! And would love how other players think of this.

The Cleansing of Orr

Like the title states..

How does the community think Arenanet will handle the purification of Orr?
Will Orr be cleansed at some point? Or will Orr stay like the rotten land it is now?

As the manifesto of Anet states they want to change the world. Sometimes even permanent. Then I think that at some point getting Orr back to normal would be a first step in that directiokittenome point. Storywise it should happen in my opinion. Though, I wouldn’t be sad or something if it didn’t happen.

Though, if Orr would change in the Open World. What kind of changes would they have to make in the Personal Story? Or would they use the same mechanic WoW uses with Phasing?

I love to hear what you guys think

Dredge Fractal: Falling out of the map.

Hey,

So well.. yeah.. how did I find this one.. well we where jumping around at the Dredge Fractal right at the beginning.. go left. And jump towards the wooden stuff. You can pretty high and at some point you can jump on a ledge which brings you to a dead end tunnel.. well I thought.. because I could walk trough the wall and BAM, fell out of the level into the whole fractals map.

I can try to post some screenshots tommorow. But maybe some people can try it out themselves. And report it, it was funny to go to the Fight of Ascalon and turn in to a Charr almost the whole Fractal run :p.

Love the dungeon armor – never going to do the grind.

I have 2 sets of CoF gear + 4 weapons, 1 set of TA gear, 1 set of AC gear + 2 weapons, and tons of other tokens just sitting in my bank however not nearly enough for a full set of HotW, SE, CoE, Arah. I’d love to have these sets but in reality grinding for this gear just isn’t going to happen, crafting is relatively cheap and infinitely faster.

So why the grind Anet?

As you said. The crafting is cheap and faster. If you are fine with that armor with the looks and stats by all means. That is fine.

But there are people who actually want to have the skins of some of the dungeons. My girlfriend for example has almost her whole TA set. She never stated it was a grind at all. She just did it when she wanted too. It didn’t feel like she HAD too, she had fun getting to it.

I for example had the whole set of Sorrow Embrace. In the end I was like, meh didn’t like it and transmuted it with my Cultural Set TIER 2 for my Asura. When I had my Sorrows Embrace set.. I had done dungeons for about 2 months so now and then. Never it felt like a grind at all. So…

It’s probably also how you feel about it..

ANYWAYS: I am going to make a summary of the mainpost. It will take some time and maybe people where expecting one. I like to put my time in it but I have my exam week this week so :p. Probably after thursday when I am done. I slowly start with the summary.

If people wanna help would be awesome and just send me parts of the things you saw come by often to me and I will look at it and post it in the OP.

Hey guys,

Another Community’s Voice from me (previous one bringing up the Dungeons).

I would love to hear some stuff of what you like to see changed or added at the arsenal of the Engineer.

I don’t know if there was some sort of topic already from it? Maybe I can try to summary them in the first post so now and then?

Anyways one of the favorites of the engineers are:

Weapons: Hammer, Torch, Dual Shield.

Turrets: Make them sturdier, better AI and let the Mortar actually be usefull.

So what you guys think of more? Thought someone had stated spiderlegs augments for turrets so they can walk behind you :p.

2# Guys, give the guys of Arenanet some slack. They just found out the tools to get the accounts of people back. Though, I would hope they will find a way to get people their stuff back before 1 dec or they will overrule the rule that only 1 account recovery per account in the future. I mean, I get it why they have that rule right now. But they shouldn’t use that rule for the lifespan of this game.

Anyways good job guys. Love to see this inplented already. And not at Wintersday for example ^^

Maybe people will see this as complaining. Well it is sort of a complain. Not that I really care about it. But I just wanted to hear the opinion on everyone else.

I believe when the Halloween event occured Anet also brought up the Deluxe Editon for free. This could mean two things: The game is losing it’s players atm so they want to get new ones through this.

Second: The game is doing well enough but they just wanna have new players.

TBH, when I read it. I can believe that some people would feel cheated. I mean, we bought the game at launch. Have bought probably gems and such. But we didn’t get the Deluxe for free. Your hardcore fanbase get’s somehow.. now… cheated I think.

Look I sort of feel cheated to with it. But I don’t feel mad about it. I get it at an economic standpoint what Anet does. But tbh, if you really wanna do this. Make the people who already bought your game also get the deluxe for free. Then you also have the chance people come back.

Just saying, would love to hear the thoughts of other people about this.

Well like I stated on my openings post:

Quests inside dungeons. Maybe in par with the Precursor or Legendary.

Or that you can get mats trough some long questchain inside a dungeon. With a nice story and such.

Quests for Unique Loot. Not just a named loot but actually something you can wear. Give some sort of loot that is unique from any other thing.

Mechanics

Some bosses really need overhauls. Give them sort of tactic. Make their HP pool smaller. For example the Dredge Mining Suit from Fractals, has a fun mechanic (it’s just kiting but someone is kiting upstairs). But his health pool makes it sometimes to long for it to be killed. Which can end up into a frustating fight in the end.

Disciplines

Our crafting disciplines are atm only something we can use for making gear or use for making a gift for your Z or Y Weapon. Maybe make it so that like for example, in SWTOR you could use your crafting skills to get you some sort of buff in some area or make a short cut. Or bring up an ally or weaken a boss. Or let out a new one.

If you had the crafting skill at a certain point you could make a dungeon path more fun.

Jumping puzzles

Make them inside dungeons. Or make them like mini dungeons who actually are fun also. Vexxa’s Lab in Fire Hearth (that’s the one or I am wrong). Was such a fun experience. The mini boss was fun. And not to hard. And it had some sort of mechanics.

Hmm maybe make it more explorable, give us secret bosses. Something to REALLY explore the place. Let us get chance of precursors or tier 6 crafting materials so you actually wanna explore the place. And maybe if you already at it. Make it so dungeons random generate. So paths change so now and then and open up new things.

Engineer is so much fun. Somehow it feels like a more diverse class than any other. Just because you have so many things that can work togheter.

Turrets are fun also. But sadly in dungeons they get destroyed to quickly.

Hey there folks,

So I was on another forum.. and there people where talking about drops and the grind they had to for it. You have people who want to get a dungeon set, like we have it now with tokens. Well very grindy.

I am someone who thinks it is alright right now. Some things are a grind. But I don’t mind it cause I have the ‘I-will-see-when-it-happens-disease" (kudo’s for the people who get the reference)

Anyways, this topic is about: How can you make Dungeons more attractive?

We know there is coming an overhaul. But how can we make it so that people will feel that dungeons are less a grind? Make a chance to let gear drop at bosses? Or special gear drop at bosses and ask the RNG to do it for us?

Or maybe quests inside dungeons to get certain things to craft pieces of armor or weapons who have an unique look?

Step two is to get the weapon stats to apply to kits as well. We felt sigils was the more important first step because it creates build diversity. Flamethrower with sigil of air? Yes please.

If you are already answering some of these questions I am wondering. As the community would like Hammers be able for the Engineer, can you tell us. Do you guys have plans to give the Engineer a Hammer? Or Torch or Dual Shield?

Dual shield like both work like magnets sort of thing ^^;

Plus what are the plans for the turrets?
