Pressing the queue button does absolutely nothing. Is this some sort of error with the login server? I have disabled the firewall and re-did port forwarding.

I don’t see what the point of this whole argument is. Sind has always said staff will work in ranked and 5v5s, just not at the highest level. That’s his opinion. If you want to play staff, play staff. If you can play staff at WTS level, that’s awesome. Bring more diversity to thief. More power to you. But for now, the way it stands, nobody at the top tier plays staff. Go ahead and prove Sind wrong. I’m sure he won’t hate you for it.
Staff thief plays a completely different role and offers nothing that can’t be done by other classes, and that’s my personal opinion. You could disagree, stick with it, and maybe someday represent all staff thieves at the WTS.
Thief may be popular, but it’s painfully weak. The current meta is AoE heavy, which is no bueno. If you don’t have a perfect ping and reflexes, you can get hosed way too quickly (even then, it’s still too easy to die).
I play with really bad ping (avg: 250) and it works well enough to get me to legend x2 this season so far. Honestly, rotations and knowing match ups is waaay more important than ping. What you should be able to dodge, you can dodge with that ping. Only thing I can think of that I wished I could re actively dodge is quickness berserk mace f1. Honestly, at high tiers, it doesn’t matter what class you play, you need to dodge stuff and have good reflexes. Thief makes your life a bit easier in this regard since you only need to +1 instead of 1v1 anyway.

Balance seems great this season. All classes have a place. Even Ele can work when paired with Necro or Warrior. I think what we need right now is a viable dps ele build (maybe rework arcane line traits), but I’m really against the insta-casts on fresh air, so I really don’t know how this can be worked. Also, I think retri-rev is a bit too strong and could use a little shave.

The ressing power in this meta has really gotten out of hand with Scrapper, Druid and Dragonhunter being the main offenders (Revenant and Mesmer to some extent as well). It’s not as bad as quickness resses, but it still needs to be looked at. Almost every meta build in PvP takes their own res trait and it’s gotten to the point where it’s extremely hard to cleave down bodies.
You should try and upload it to YouTube. Some of us with potato internet cannot access Twitch.
1. You’re playing the ranked game mode.
2. You’re doing it casually, losing a bunch of games, aka screwing over your teammates.
3. Now you get teammates that are casual.
4. You want to win, but not try as hard.
What is it that you want the developers to do for you again? Free wins every time you hit the queue button?
While I don’t think blocks are really an issue, most of what you linked are joke skills that have nothing going for them apart from being unblockable. For a start, anything that isn’t a CC is going to barely make a difference to your DPS (necro might be an exception here), and you’re burning traits or utilities on them. Secondly, CC’s can run into stability (which is far, far more common) and be wasted.
I’ll reiterate.
Warrior: Fear Me, the numerous CCs with signet.
Guardian: Used to be traps, now none. I suppose Line of Warding or Ring of Warding if your placement is exceptional.
Rev: Phase Traversal into Staff 5
Thief: Basi Venom
Engineer: Magnet
Ranger: Pet taunt used to do this, but rooting while someone is blocking is still pretty strong.
Mesmer: Temporal Curtain
Necro: So many, warhorn 4, staff 5, dark path when they have stab with PoC
Elementalist: Static Field, Unsteady Ground
That’s a whole plethora of unblockable CCs that will get your opponent out of their block.
Warrior: Signet Mastery (Trait), Signet of Might, Fear Me
Revenant: Phase Traversal
Guardian: Traps (nerfed, sry), Ring of Warding, Line of Warding
Thief: Basi Venom, Choking Gas, Larcenous Strike, Traps
Engineer: Magnet, Slick Shoes, Acid Bomb, Orbital Strike, Poison Grenade, Tornado
Ranger: Roots, Traps
Necro: Marks (traited), Corrupt Boon, Warhorn#4, Dark Path
Mesmer: Mirror Blade, Temporal Curtain
Elementalist: Phoenix, Static Field, Tornado, Unsteady Ground, Magnetic Grasp,
Long duration blocks in the game: Rev shield, War shield, Mesmer shield, Engi shield + gear shield, Guard virtue
Is this few counters? Seems like every class (besides maybe Guardian) has a really easy and reliable way to deal with blocks. Save your CDs if you know you’e fighting a class that’s going to use blocks. That’s what to “git gud” means.

Overall with the system, if your MMR is an accurate representation of your skill, you will end up in the tier you belong. Sure, there may be some outliers, but the QQs are mostly about people asking for higher skilled players on their team than themselves to carry them and maintain the 50% ratio from last season. That’s dumb. If your question is whether your MMR is accurate tho, that’s a different discussion.
500-200 a close skill team?
not really a team have made very bad decision, skill is not 1 vs 1, skill is understand what’s going on.
let out the lord, ok in foefire can end 500-350 and it is close, sometime.
but
500-250 means that you hold 2 point and enemy 1 for all the match. is a bloody bath.
500-300 probably they hold 2 point for 1 minute…
People in solo queue have a lot of problem with regrouping. A single lost team fight usually results in scores like 300-500. Team comps play a role, like if you’re fighting foefire with Ele vs a team without one. Doesn’t mean both the teams didn’t have a chance at winning the game.
One team playing slightly better than the other results in scores like that. One team dominating the others is scores like 500-100.

I can’t repeat Silverwastes for some reason and I’m wondering the same. Which reward track is most profitable considering I don’t need anything for PvE and I already have all the medium armour glorious skins unlocked.
1. 15k HP base, would be around 21k with Maruder.
HP is fine tbh. 15k base means I could run berserker with wurm runes and I’d have the same health as I do now, which would be crazy strong.
2. 15 initiative baseline and make Prepardness where initiative cost for all skills is decreased by 1. (Ex. BP would be 5 initiative not 6 with this trait.)
*Preparedness baseline sounds fine. I’d really love for Bountiful Theft to be a minor. *3. Add F2 blinding powder skill. Why does Thief not have this? I’m surprised this isn’t even in the game considering Theives are “master of stealth”
*Honesty, no need. We already are at a point where D/P won’t die if it doesn’t want to with Dash, ports and stealth. No more ez-access stealth pls. *4. Replace blinding powder utility skill with “Evasion” – evade all attacks for 6s

Lotus training – give ur opponents 5s of weakness( 20% dmg and condi reduction)
All 3 dodges are already quite strong.8. Steal – CD decreased by 5s
No!9. Reveal does not work on Thieves
Reveal is weird in that the meta picks for the classes that hard counter thief anyway have it but it is required for counter play. So no opinion on this.10. And finally, fix the cluster bomb. Why does that thing defy gravity?

Apart from the above, maybe
1) Guarded Initiation needs to ignore or strip retaliation as well.
2) Pistol Whip initiative reverted back in PvP.
3) Dancing Dagger damage increased by 33%.
4) Cloak and Dagger also blinds.
5) D/D #3 needs a rework to be something like a gap closer. Maybe something like phase traversal? Has a wind up and can be interrupted but not spammed due to aftercast or something. I’m not sure.

What kind of list is that?
A – Scrapper, Herald
B – Reaper, Tempest, Chronomancer, Druid
C – Daredevil
D – Dragonhunter
F – Berserker
New ESL meta will be: Scrapper, Reaper, Tempest, Herald, Chronomancer.

Things to remember when you have a thief on your team:
1. Don’t AFK on close. Thief will decap far and respawns will be forced to cap home instead of decaping you, so you’re safe with that. Rotate back to home after their respawn has capped his own point.
2. Don’t overrotate. If there’s a 1v1 close and you own the cap, keep fighting mid. Thief will eventually go home and finish it. Don’t do this yourself.
3. If thief hasn’t decaped far, and there is a respawn, rotate back to somewhere where you can watch where that respawn goes.
4. Never let thief be in 4v4 while you “defend” a cap or engage in a 1v1 against something that can’t be +1ed, say scrapper. Let thief decap that scrapper instead.
You can’t tell people not to play a profession they enjoy. Cry to ANet for it.

Revenant’s precision strike tracks all 3 hits to you even if you’re in stealth. It doesn’t require it to be channelled or anything. This seems like a bug, because if it’s not, 8k every 4 secs even when you’re in stealth is really something.
I’ve always really liked the play style of mesmer but I’ve never been able to get good at it mostly because I rage and switch back to thief whenever I get farmed by other thieves while on it.
I transferred from NA to EU during the last season and didn’t have any issues with this.

I play from India and I’ve been playing thief at the highest competitive level. My ping usually varies from 150-300ms depending on the time of day. Anything up to 180ms is doable with lots of practice. On 180-200ms, it’s hard to get interrupts with headshot, but you can still dodge skills with big tells. After 200ms, there’s no dodging/interrupting, only instinct. This isn’t limited to thief, however, and any class you play will give you problems at those pings. But as long as you’re not playing ESL tournaments and such, you should be fine with good rotations, map awareness and positioning if not mechanical skill.
99% solo queue to legend using d/p thief and sometimes celestial/crusader druid. As a thief, diamond tier was a breeze and ruby plain hell. I blame the afkers “defending nodes” forcing thieves to 4v4 rather than decap or +1.

There is no way in hell they’ll increase dagger or sword autos by 33%. It’ll be 5-10% tops.
I really don’t want my class to be overpowered.
There is something strange going on with matchmaking right now. It’s queueing Legendaries against Ambers. I’d advise everyone not to queue for ranked till this is fixed.

Glad to hear that build is successful. I’ve been running Marauder with MM/WS/Druid, but I think MM/BM Crusader is a more efficient manner. Did you use LB/GS or Staff/GS?
Pretty sure Celestial meta Druid with Sword/Torch swap is better, but Crusader is fun. I use GS/Staff. Staff combined with SotW gives me a really good CAF uptime. CAF #5 is sooo good.
I run D/P with Dash and Fist Flurry. I don’t usually use stealth or backstabs a lot since my burst comes from Steal+Fist Flurry and I rely on interrupts for PI damage. The benefits of using Dash are the fast decaps, immunity to immobilise and condi cleanse for Reaper chills (since Withdraw and Signet of Agility are my only other condi clears). Bound is really, really good tho, so I guess it depends on your playstyle.

I don’t think there should be LOS on point at all. If you want to stall with LOS, fight off point and lose the cap. It’s just bad for the game.

Hello fellow Teefs, i’ve been playing Thief for about 8 or 9 months, moved from warrior, and obsvly, loving the class, but i am having problems against Guardians.
So, i would like to know from the veteran ones, is there a way to deal against them? are they our Counter and we’re not supposed to beat them? It seems they can bunk the dmg, heal enough and kill us at the same time.
*note, i know we can step away, to restart the fight, but im talking about duels.

You haven’t paid attention to trying to win.
You can already do that by using the stolen skill and steal. Nothing about this is changing, except now you can see the CD on your “low CD broken OP” skill. At least play the class first before you start lecturing the people who designed the class on how to balance it.
I do okay as a thief with 300+ ping (playing from India). It’ll take time to learn the ropes but go for it. It won’t get you to the top 10 players, but with enough practice you’ll be playing at a reasonably high level.

idk but i’d really wanna try out:
1. cleric guard with hammer/staff. CC heal cleanse res
2. thief – DA, Trickery, SA venom share
3. lockdown+shatter mesmer
4. engineer blast bot
5. staff ele for field bot or another cc+deeps that can make use of venom share, engi CC and CI mesmer immobs
Necromancer: Remove the CD on swapping into Death Shroud.
Mesmers – Move Portal to Elite skill slot.
That is a big buff.
Don’t think it is. DS CD might be if the Life Force generation stays the same, but if that can be changed, you’re mitigating damage but have more freedom on when you want to do so. For Mesmers, you’re sort of just trading a big CD skill like Moa for a shorter CD Utility skill.
tl;dr: Standard buffing request. Title is Misleading.
It has nothing to do with specialization and how it isn’t 100% different from the current system.
Buffing request? I don’t believe I asked for buffs for any of these classes besides ranger’s team presence. Just CDs and moving stuff around. :o
EDIT: Okay, maybe the changes aren’t so little, so I suppose the title is somewhat misleading.
