Recently came back to the game and most of my friends have left or are busy playing in a serious team now so I thought I’d post here. I’m still a bit rusty mechanically but I’ve pretty much got my map rotations and general conquest skills back.

Bit about me:

- I go by the name Curie.

- I’m r80, have roughly 2000 tpvp matches and 6 champion titles.

- I consider myself a multiclass and will learn/play what’s needed.

- I finished 12th on the leaderboard for team arena before the changes, with my peak being 7th back when I was playing with a proper group. (ty based decay)

- Currently I’m playing engi, warrior and ele.

- I usually play in oceanic hours but I can play during late NA hours on weekends but this is subject to change with my uni schedule.

- I’m a pretty chill guy.

What I’m looking for:

Just a group of players who want to do unranked/ranked queues and know how to properly rotate. Teamspeak/voip is a must if we’re playing seriously but if we’re just chilling/yoloing, I don’t mind.

How is maintaining top 100 hard with temporary decay?

1. Get into top 100 by luck.

2. Play a game every now and then and hope you win.

3. Maintain top 100.

4. Pretend you’re good.

A few of my friends do this for solo queue leaderboards and maintained top 25 easily. I myself have floated around the top 25 for team queues for over 4 months with this method, 2 of which I was inactive and only team queued when I was extremely bored.

Not to be rude or anything. But you’re on your soapbox preaching like you’re top guard world and honestly, I’ve never seen your name before now.

On to the matter at hand – SoR is situational. Simple as that. Remember around release when SoR was the meta heal? I sure do. Then the transition to shelter happened but a few still stuck with SoR for a bit longer. I mean, even now people run healing breeze recently so dont try to preach about shelter being the only viable choice.

Respect for player rank has vanished. The only time it was relevant was pre-feature patch with dedicated PvP-ers that you know didn’t skyham farm.

Now everyone and there mothers are rank 80. It’s not a special title. It’s not a special finisher.

I actually think that thief would be perfectly balanced IF Anet nerfed “Feline Grace”. That’s what makes the thief evades annoying as hell: I stopped playing thief because it’s just too easy. To get a real challenge you must go in those 1v1 servers and still there’s no point in them, because in the TPVP nobody runs a 1v1 build EXCEPT for thieves.

1. Disabling shot got nerfed. It was pretty silly before but now it’s pretty tamed.

2. That’s one stealth skill. Wow, much spam.

3. Prolong the fight with shadow arts+acro will lead to the enemy capping the point. This is why shadow arts doesn’t exist in tpvp.

Unless the thief is running 6/6/6/6/6, I don’t see how “blind and stealth spam” is possible along with evade spam in a viable tpvp build.

Maybe in whatever low percentile tier OP is in people may have trouble with countering thieves running acro shadowarts SUPER OP build.
