The flamekissed doesn’t count toward the emperor title achievement. You don’t only buy the T3 when you do so, you also buy a piece of achievement counting towards a title.
Cultural weapons can be bought by anyone, nobody is complaining about it. Opening cultural armors to about any race could have opened possibilities to some really cool looks (which is what this game is about) and now it’s just gone.

Source that ANet won’t fix that? Don’t you think they are smart enough to know how much of a mess they’ve made? If it were you in charge, wouldn’t you address these issues on a case-by-case basis? I would.

Maybe we could decide individually which field take priority and set it in our options.
You could chose fire > water > x >y and someone else could chose light > dark > z if they prefer it this way. I don’t know if this would be easy to implement but I would find it nice.

People don’t care that your previous set was wiped (even if it’s their beloved human T3 btw) and that you will certainly not be compensated for its loss. Also don’t forget in the future that you should browse the forum and reddit before purchasing from the gem store to be sure you will be able to keep the skin you’re paying for. My Mesmer has standard, crafted level 80 armor which I’ve never replaced on her cuz I happen to think she looks really good in it. Now, if I’m standing by someone who is wearing the newest gem store armor and I’m looking at them and thinking “That’s sooo ugly!” and their looking at me and thinking, “Crafted. That’s sooo lame!” Which one of us is winning?

Yet again, I can enlighten you the same way about cultural armor not remaining exclusive to a race. By buying the game, you agreed that any item could be removed or changed. You agreed that Anet can release a new tier of armor if they want to, you agreed that they can make whatever armor/weapon they want be purchasable from the gemstore if they want to. They can even decide to erase your account if they want to. Yet again, people asked for gold refunds and some raged so much that Anet decided to change it screwing other people in the process. I don’t believe you were telling the whining masses the same thing at that time, weren’t you? So you can keep your best regards to yourself. Thank you.

Before putting posts like this, stay informed. ANet, in their official response, stated that the support team will answer ALL the personal scenarios with regards to the acquistion of the skin. Instead of starting a mess, await the solution they propose to some personal cases. And yes, that’s part of being reasonable.

Yeah it’s all nice and all but some people in this very thread have contacted the customer support who said otherwise so who are we supposed to believe now? The one who we are supposed to contact and deal with to be compensated or a forum post explaining how they didn’t see the new armor looked so much like the T3 one because it wasn’t obvious enough for their art team? Based on what the support answered to someone, your previous skin won’t be refunded. So if you lost a gem store skin, a t3, bought new expensive dyes for your new look, weapons, makeover kits, etc, it’s all lost and won’t be reverted. GG Anet, GG community.

Amazing. So now if the new skin isn’t to my taste, I won’t be able to get my gold (gem to gold ratio is screwed) or money back. If I want my old skin back, I’ll have to buy transmutation stones and the previous skin I had.
I bet they will erase the gear altogether if you ask for the refund so I’ll have to get another set of exotic armor and runes too?
So because they screwed up, they’re basically wasting our time/gold/money.
That’s a scandal really especially considering I’m not buying the “sorry it was a mistake” story they told us.

After all this you really think anet would put in a super duper limited edition armor with flame effects on a beloved skin and then never ever let people get it again?

I can maybe see the other two since they are far less popular but this would be a nightmare for them to deal with.

It’s also highly hypocritical since so many on the pro flame side seem to love ridiculing people on the other side for wanting “exclusive armor”. You can’t get much more exclusive than an armor that was only available for a few hours and then never ever again.

To be honest, I believe this skin was bought than much more than a hundred people. I was merely using their own argument against them. They try to make it sound like it’s a non issue because almost nobody had the time to buy it. If it’s the case I don’t see why it would bother them so much that we keep it so we don’t get screwed over a “mistake” made by Anet. What wrong would it do to them that a few hundred players get to keep a skin they enjoy and paid for? How egoist can one be really?

As for me, I’d rather have the skin stay the way it was and continue being sold with maybe other gem store cultural based skin in the future or even let this one be purchasable only by human character than all this current mess we’re in.
And I say that as someone with the emperor title so I bought my fair share of cultural armors in this game.

As for the current price, I agree it’s cheap now but gems value keep on rising and who knows maybe this set will cost 200g in a few month….

Some people lost their previous expensive skins, makeover kits, bought new dyes, etc and the nicest thing you find to tell them is “you should have used your common sense” when all they did was purchase a skin from the gem store, sometimes with RWM. Good spirit.
I enjoy this game and won’t leave because there are people like you or the one whispering me earlier that lack a bit of empathy for other people. I find it a pity that some people react the way you do though and I will point it out everytime I find it opportunate to do so.

heres my dilemma…. I already owned Human T3 armor on my necro…. I bought this Human T3 Skin from the TP and copied over my current human T3 because i thought it was cooler. I didnt see anything about this out cry on cultural armor… me frankly i dont care about it myself…

My question is i understand from what the dev says you can get a refund for the armor if you dislike the look… but how do i get my old T3 armor look back if i dont like the new Flamekissed Light ?

I personally bought this to make my old T3 Look cooler with effects. so now im gonna lose my T3 human armor look and the New T3 armor i reskined my old T3 with.

Are they going to provide me with a transmute splitters so i can remove the flamekissed T3 skin off my current T3 Human armor so atleast dont lose that, or can i keep the current T3 Skin.

Basically i wanna keep my T3 Flameskin.. I put on my own T3 i didnt mind paying the 68g to upgrade my t3 look! Gold is easy to make in this game.

Im a Human T3 Owner thats not mad about this but yet now I feel like im going to now lose my Old T3 Armor Look and my New T3 Armor look.

I don’t want to make you sad but if your old T3 was transmuted on say exotic gear, even with transmutation splitters, you wouldn’t get back your T3, you would get the exotic gear with its original look.

When I look at the medium and heavy flame set, I’m not really optimistic tbh. Only time will tell and I sure hope to be proven wrong.

How are they gonna do all that btw, I’m curious? Anyone familiar with it?
If I’m not pleased with the new set and they refund gems, how can they be sure I don’t keep the new skin anyway? Will they erase the item? Will they ask that I use trans splitters and then erase the skin? Will they provide these trans splitters? Will they give me transmutation stone to recreate the old skin I had? Will they give me back the previous skin I had prior to the flamekiss?
What a mess really. It was the first time I bought a skin set with gems, I wonder if I’ll ever do it again. ^^’

If the T3 was transmuted to an exotic set, I believe trans splitters will give him the exotic set back, not the previous transmuted T3 exotic, but I could be wrong.

Wow, they really screwed up big time with this. First off because the whole concept of reskins is pretty cheap imo. Then I really find the medium not fantastic at all, some parts of the heavy are nice though. The light one is incredible though. Incredible because it is basically a T3 for half price and available to all races.
When I saw that, I knew some people would be kitten ed off and I’d say rightfully so.
The problem is I found it really amazing for my elementalist.
My elem is *human*, I didn’t get the t3 because while the model was nice, it was not nice enough for me to buy it while the added particules of the flamekissed really made it amazing for me.
Now as much as I understand the uproar about this skin, I am really unhappy that they are changing it. I know there is no good way to handle this as there will always be someone unhappy.
The problem I have is that chances are the new skin will not suit me and the basic t3 doesn’t either. So I am basically told I found a skin I really love and I won’t be able to keep it. It’s not even a matter of gold or anything, I just find it completly stupid that this amazing skin is getting wiped out.
I really wish they would add this set as an alternative for human t3 meaning you can buy this one if you like it or the normal one. I know it wouldn’t please all non human who bought it though but I find it’s such a pity to simply erase this skin forever.

I watched the video. I’d say one of the worst part was that the guy playing really looked bored and didn’t seem to care about what he was doing at all. Not really the best way to “sell” the patch imo. That alone made me want to close the vid within the first few minutes. Maybe he wasn’t feeling comfortable, dunno, but it would have been better without the webcam.

As for the content in itself, it seems they added “artificial difficulty” with puzzle components like laser room to make us spend more time. While it may be funny the few first times when you do it in guild on voice com, I guess it will get old really fast and will just be frustrating.
Nothing really exciting in this video tbh, they didn’t show much of the mist instabilities the leaderboards seem pointless, not that we really asked for them anyway.
I was happy to see the cinematic of the last molten facility bosses again though, I really like this one.

I’m not 100% sure about it but it seems that when the boss does not drop the champion bag (big bag of candy or something like this), the achievement fail to trigger too. Anyone noticed something similar?

Gratz. Had the same happening today in overflow too. We all thought it was over as the timer was at 0s and then event succeeded.

If I remember well, they said you can get an ascended weapon chest from any reward that can give ascended gear drop. If we follow that logic, it means we should be able to get one as low as lvl 10.

Yep first try, we were quite happy about it, especially after reading the multiples thread about the path on this forum. ^^
Most of us knew the boss already but had not done it again since the patch and we used to do it at range at that time.

Well I know condi gear is not optimal but he enjoys to play this way. Aside from that he plays his ele quite well and makes good use of his fire field to provide us might stacks which is already better than a lot of player I have seen in this game. We’re a small guild with players that plays quite a lot but we’re not dead serious about it either and I would never blame anyone in my guild for not using zerker gear as long as they’re friendly and willing to follow instructions, switch utilities and traits when needed.

We did this path 2 days ago for one of our guild member that missed it for dungeon master title. He didn’t manage to get this path done in PUG.
We had one guardian (knight gear), two warriors (soldier and zerker), one elem (condi gear if i’m not mistaken) and me as a mesmer (zerker). I had linked them a video of LOD doing this boss naked (thanks for this vid btw, really helpful).

It went really well, elem was staking might, I doubled the stacks with signet then time warp, warriors put vuln on boss. By the time the first spiders spawned the boss was already quite low and we had our reflective skills ready.
I can understand that this boss may be challenging in pugs because it requires a bit more coordination or communication than other boss but it’s nowhere near impossible.

The only thing that should be fixed is the spiders not vanishing after a wipe, the boss is fine aside from that imo.

The Queen will announce that she finally has found a pair of shoes that suit her royal feet.

I’m unhappy about this nerf. I have 8 characters and I wasn’t farming the same dungeon all day to make money. Only dungeons I ran several times with several alts were to get token for the armor to gear my alts and a bit of COE to get cores/lodestones for a legendary.
I’ve just hit max level with my ranger and wanted to get her the arah set but this change is disheartning.
I’m also amazed it wasn’t stated in the patch note and that Anet doesn’t answer to any thread regarding this change.
I really hope this is a bug but I fear it isn’t. I already have most of my characters geared but for new players it will really be much longer.

Thanks a lot to OP and Harrier, your advices helped me get it with my thief. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get the 8 orbs achievment though but I’m pleased anyway. I couldn’t touch the orb with headshot btw so I had to switch to sword/pistol and blink to it to kill it.

I’d love to see the fall of Abaddon. Moreover, we all know Thaumanova reactor exploded because subjet alpha farted, nothing interesting to see there.

It’s no different but someone with lvl 20 has less interest in doing a lvl 48 as he won’t have a better reward and won’t get another daily chest if he has already done a daily of his lvl so apart from masochism.

As many as I’ve seen great players in lvl 30/40+, i’ve seen bad players that were carried there. Do you really want to have more of their characters looking for groups so that they can have another roll for a weapon? New 80 char in green gear incoming to pug 30+ fractals will sure be great. No problem, his main char is lvl 40+.

Anyone can say he is experienced or ping gear, it doesn’t mean he really is. He could even be wearing mf and you wouldn’t know right away.

I’m experienced with my guardian/necro in fractals, does that mean I am with my 5 other characters and would do good? Not really and I can even see myself fail miserably on my engineer or thief. Would I do a fractal 30+ with them if I could? Probably not but some people just don’t care and enjoy leeching from their party.

I do play with my guild but not everybody has a guild that does fractal, some people mostly pug and it’s already quite a pain in the bum to find a decent party (been there when my guild wasn’t running fractals yet).

I can see where you’re coming from as I’d love to be able to go in lvl 40+ with my mesmer and be rewarded for it but I still don’t find it is not a good idea.
We can agree to disagree though.

While it would be convenient (personal lvl 49 on my guardian and 30 on my necro), I disagree with the way you say people are experienced enough by now with fractals.

If you pug sometimes you should know that, I’ve seen terrible players at all lvls and being good with say a guardian doesn’t make you good with another class.
Besides not everybody is playing since the release of fractals and not everybody has full AR on all their characters either.
With this change I can see an increasing number of people leeching from your party for more chance to get a weapon while they may not be experienced enough with their fresh new 80 or even geared properly. If you never pug that may not be a problem for you though.

Maybe I’m assuming too much but I read this sentence as a confirmation for legendary piece of gear other than weapons.

I can agree it sucks for the ones being late to the party and that have just bought the infusions, but for people who already farmed a lot with these, asking for a refund is quite debatable imho. ^^

True that changes aren’t something bound to happen in a mmo, it’s something really unexpected to say the least. True also that nobody was expecting a nerf to the money made from our beloved cof p1. I guess you’re willing to give back the money you made with the infusions to get back these laurels too btw?

Had an ‘experienced’ Ranger during CoE. They used Swoop towards the top of the stairs leading into the Golem’s room. Went straight past the Mesmer’s portal and landing in the middle of the doorway, to which we were met with the sound of the Turrets firing up. I swear they are all pants on head kittened, and they seem to have the most potential to absolutely wreck a team.

I thought using portal to avoid spawning the turrets was a bug exploit. I must have been mistaken then.
