I have to disagree, the mounts have momentum and weight that makes them a joy to ride, the biggest issue with gliders was that they had no real momentum, you could pivot on a dime.

Please don’t change how mounts handle, they’re the first time i’ve had fun with movement in any MMO for a long, long time.

I have accrued myself a number of malicious ascended chests, and fancied making a condition damage mesmer set for WvW, will toughness, vit, Condi give a significant boost in survivability vs power, vit, condi or celestial stats?

Tyria is a beautiful place, but as it is the GW2 UI is pretty busy, it’s nice to turn off the HUD while walking from place to place just to immerse oneself in the world.

So it would be nice to have an option for the UI to fade out when out of combat, with relevant UI elements only appearing when necessary, for instance, the talk bubble when you’re near someone that can be interacted with. Or skillbar/healthbars appearing when an enemy/friend is selected. Also the top left bar only appearing when hovered over, same for quests/events, the xp bar and chatbox.

An option to hide more armor pieces would be pretty swell, charr males in particular look pretty awesome without a chestpiece, shows off the various fur patterns beauituflly.

It’s been like this for ages now, but nobody else seems to notice, if you have swiftness from the Mesmer focuses temporal curtain, you cannot receive any additional swiftness from other sources (even other temporal curtains).

Also if you have swiftness from another source, temporal curtain will not add it’s stack of swiftness.

Adjustable Back piece position

Back pieces are wonderful things, everyone rather fond, but alas some of them don’t sit quite correctly on the back of many characters (see – almost every charr). So could we please be able to adjust them slightly ourselves? Not by a huge amount, just enough to make it sit in a position that looks sensible.

This is a Rediculously good fun game mode, Something I can see myself logging into each day for the simple joy of stealing an Azuras fishing line and then tripping him over with it.

And if things proceed as they have been with this living story nonsense, it will be gone in a relatively short amount of time, and forever all that effort and fun that was put into the game mode will be die.

So please, I implore you arenanet, please don’t remove the crab toss!

It seems an awful waste of modeling if they’re adamant about it. But i’d like to know why they wont allow it (I honestly haven’t seen a single person using town clothes since the halo-ween update, so it looks like they’re not making any money off it).

I’m not sure how many people actually buy ‘town’ clothing, but I imagine it’s not a great deal since it can only be used maybe 5% of your gametime. it’s certainly why I’ve never bothered to buy it, no matter how awesome it looks.

So maybe we could be allowed to transmute it into appropriate armors instead? For instance, the ‘cook’ skin would look wonderful on light armor classes, the pirate on medium, and the various hats applying to all headgear.

I’d most certainly buy them if I could actually use them in combat.

Movement in downed state

Whiles this would be nice for PvE, I can imagine would only compound the problems of downed state in PvP (that being, it’s really easy to be revived by teammates, to the point that a the advantage in numbers is much more potent than it needs to be).

This is a pretty annoying bug, not only does it not stack with any other swiftness in the game (including other mesmers temporal curtains) But it negates superior swiftness effects that other people try to put onto you (e.g, if you have 3 seconds of swiftness from Temporal curtain and then a guardian uses ‘Retreat!’, you will be stuck at 3 rapidly dwindling seconds even though you should have gotten 20 or more seconds of swiftness from the guardian.

I was rather hoping out of all the mesmer bugs being fixed in this new update, this would have been the big one.

I’ve found that the exalted chest armor looks rather excellent on light charr, but I can’t think of another sleeveless shirt for Charr. A bit of a shame really to not put that mass of muscle on display.

(p.s it’s exotic so it’s still going to be fairly expensive on the TP, 4 gold 19 silver atm)

It’d be rather good I feel, if badges were awarded (consistently) for actually completing objectives rather than killing players. Say, 2 for capping out a sentry (the lone charr warriors standing around). 10 for a supply camp, 30 for a keep, and 100 for the castle. therefore players are encouraged to actually do objective.

Oh and of course defence points, say 5-10 for every 3 minutes spent activly defending.

I’ve taken rather a shine to taking screen caps of interesting people and places around the world of Tyria, it’s an absolutely beautiful place and makes for fine desktop material. However whenever I find a particularly nice vista I have to go into options, max out my settings, take a few screenshots (with -bmp of course) And then revert my settings to something that my PC can actually handle.

Now since most graphic changes can be handled without the renderer restarting, (a delightful technical achievement I might add) Could we please have a ‘maxed out screenshot’ button? That maxes out immediately changeable settings (shaders and super sampling being the most important, they make a world of difference to the visual quality of the world) for one frame, takes the screenshot, then reverts to the previous ‘playable’ settings.

Any other budding digital photographers interested in such a feature?

Hi, I’m pretty miserable when it comes to remembering passwords (typically I let the game save it for me). But I accidentally typed something into the password field without logging in, so that’s lost. However the password reset page linked by the game client redirects to this page

Phantasmal defender would probably a lot more useful in PvE if it wasn’t bound to a particular target, and just hung around until the end of combat or it’s own death.

Heyas, I’ve been playing around with a more phantasm based build lately, and whiles the 50% extra phantasm health from signet of illusions is somewhat useful, the shatter recharge active seems pretty pointless. Giving extra health just so you can kill them more often seems a tad on the counterproductive side.

Maby it would be more frequently used if it gave all phantasms 2s distortion on active instead.

I agree heartily, right now honour of the waves (And while we’re at it, Arah and sorrows embrace) tends to be a battle of numbers rather than wits. Personally citadel of flame is a the perfect example of how to do a dungeon in regards to Mob health, tactics and special events, lots of variety, and not an excessive amount of time taken to take out the majority of enemies (fighting several weaker opponents, is almost always more fun than fighting a few opponents with three times as much hp).

I suspect the culture has come about because of an awful lot of rather huge glitches, which combined with the rediculous HP pools of dungeon mobs, that means that doing a dungeon ‘conventionally’ clearing out every creature in your way, can take an absurd amount of time (anytime over 45 minutes is a bit excessive personally). And When you want a specific dungeon set can take so long to acquire, people are going to try to do it as quickly and easily as possible.

So please, fix the exploits, but fix the bugs (like the infinite spawning Inquest in sorrows embrace, path 2 I believe, with all the gates) and tone down the health of trash mobs at least (honour of the waves, sorrows embrace and Arah are particularly bad for damage spongy mobs. Doubly so for honour of the waves).

I dont mind the downed system, but rather the ‘revive on killing another player’ mechanic, and the rediculously quick friendly healing. Which makes 1v2, 2v3, and 3v4 engagements even more one-sided than they need be.

Remove kill reviving and half the friendly healing rate in spvp and I reckon you’re gold.

Now maby it’s just myself, but for most players the current trend of market inflation for high end goods (ectos in particular have more than trippled in value since release) is making it far more laborious than it need be to get the things we wish for.

Now the traditional (and generally effective) means of curbing inflation in online games I believe is introducing gold sinks in order to reduce the ammount of coin floating about, so here is a proposal that will both create a gold sink in the currently expensive climate, but also discourage price hiking in the future: Listing fees that increase with the selling price of the object.

For instance, for objects bellow 1s, the current fee of 5% would be implemented,
for 1s to 5s the current 10% listing fee, (money paid by the seller upon placing the item in the auction house)
6-50s – 15%
50-1g – 20%
1g-10g -30%
10g- 100g – 50%
100g+ 60%

And so on and so forth.

Here, the trend of rising prices no longer vastly favors sellers, encouraging bulk selling at lower prices, and curbing inflation when prices are too high.

Any thoughts?

The music in this game can be rather lovely, but for some reason it is incredibly quiet compared to all the sound effects even at maximum settings (both master volume, and music) Can we please have a greater range of volumes for music?

I concur, encounters that are decided in seconds are neither particularly interesting or fun compared to extended duels and skirmishes.

This has been broken for a while, I’m hoping they fix it soon, since it’s one of the more satisfying jumping puzzles (Right after the glorious melee that is eternal battlegrounds puzzle).

I must agree, repair costs in WvW, coupled with the generally low income of attacking (unless you’re just going for supply bases, which works well with two or more friends) means that it can be hard to turn a profit, especially compared to PvE where death is entirely avoidable.

I’ve noticed some people alt-f4 before being finished in order to avoid the damage from being player killed.

A simple solution seems to be just to remove armor damage from player kills.

The regeneration booster is most definitely working within the eternal battlegrounds. Upon taking damage from NPCs, siege equipment, or players I am receiving the passive regeneration from the regeneration booster. (As a Mesmer, on my own so there are no other regeneration effects).

Just having nabbed myself a few boosters from a lucky black lion streak, I’ve noticed that you can use the combat boosters (Strength and regeneration) in world vs world. Effectively allowing people who spend real money (Increasingly an option due to inflating gem – gold conversion rates) to gain an advantage in world vs world.

To me, this seems rather wrong, even if the benefit is small, it can make a difference and allow a battle to be swayed unfairly towards those that have out of game resources to spend (money).

I would suggest disabling such boosters whiles within the confines of world vs world (not just in Spvp).

Puzzle Griefing in WvWvW ruins the Game experience.

My only issue with the jumping puzzles is the bottleneck that occurs after you make the leap of faith through the waterfall. Not only are you injured, but frequently flat on your face if your build doesn’t have talent points in a line that allows for reduced falling damage, making this a prime spot for a kill zone. I’d recommend allowing at least one additional entrance to the jumping puzzle.

@Gummibear Other class don’t have gap traversing teleports, however I believe a fair few have leaps. My point is that Mesmers arn’t very good at getting around either quickly or through difficult terrain.

I think it’s fair to say Mesmers have the worst movement capacity in the game, in between a lack of haste abilities and a teleport that can’t traverse gaps, he has next to nothing going for him mobility wise.

i think it adds a layer to the interesting choice you have to make when you go down; to 2 or not to 2.

i think it’s a fun feature that goes well with the mesmer’s repertoire. i am always impressed when people figure it out and revive the correct one, and amused otherwise

No other class is penalized for using it’s downed skills, why should the Mesmer be? It does not help him in the slightest, and will cause teammates to waste valuable time when bringing you up from a fight.

It is not fun, it is simply frustration for both Mesmer and team-mate.

Not really, health pools are so huge in this game, and stun breaks/leaps so prevelent that I’m seing people get to the door even under heavy fire. You’re proposing an (innefective I might add) workaround rather than adressing the problem itself.

I’m finding that in general the defenders glowing door is sapping a lot of fun out of being an attacker (a role that’s under-rewarded as it is). To have a warrior leap from the battlements, spin around for a while then casually leap back through his door is highly disheartening for anyone on the attacking side. Why should defenders be allowed such degrees of recklessness with next to no risk?

I propose that taking damage prevents use of the door for a few seconds, thereby curbing this highly irritating tactic.

Simple really, every time I’m downed, there’s a 50/50 chance that people will try to resurrect the illusion rather than the real me. Which is quite entirely pointless since you can’t actually resurrect downed illusions even if you managed to get the bar to 100%.

Also being able to ‘resurrect’ broken illusions is a problem. in the middle of a corpse field.

I’d suggest removing the ability to resurrect illusions, it serves no purpose but to waste team-mates time.

It does seem rather silly that you need to go to some random guy to retrait. And pay for the privilege on top of that. There isn’t really any reason to punish experimentation the way the traiting system works right now.

This, at the very least reduce it to just one piece of armor on a death. I’ve taken to playing without a single piece of armor (as a mesmer, probably wouldn’t work for heavier armor classes) because it’s more profitable in the long run.
