Where did you pull those number from? Like usual, it’s always some self-entitled hardcore PvEr that moans when PvPers get something unique to them.

I remember reading on the Wowwiki page about an NPC named James Van Brunt, where someone thought that the NPC was a reference to the singer James Blunt even though the game was out before this guy was even popular. The link in the wiki trying to prove it links to a non existent page. People really need to stop looking into references, not everything is a reference.

Oh definitely, I can’t count the times during world bosses I’ve seen people with high AP/Legendaries (goes hand in hand) get floored, goes the same for sPvP where I usually dumpster them. (Usually their team loses due to constant chasing/generally sucking)

Can’t say I’ve been in a dungeon group with these types, but I can only guess they’re a hot tempered lot who can’t stand others. The best way to avoid them is to just do the opposite and call for all levels and skill types, you get much nicer people that way.

This was related to the bug that was disabling progression on our arenas. Now that it is fixed, people should be directed to our custom arenas.

This was my fault, I made a typo on one of the map identifiers in our configuration files and the server didn’t recognize it as a standard configuration.

It should be working now.

Thanks, but you’ve also broken somthing aswell I think (oops!). Pressing play dumps me into custom servers instead of an Anet server (which are mostly empty or have 2-8 players). I’m also getting lots of network error messages when server hopping.

Somthing is definately broken, pressing play now sends me to custom servers but there are tons of empty Anet servers, what the hell? I can manually go into one but whats the point if noone else is able to join.

With no “available slots” do you mean servers need to be 20/20? Who goes spectating a hotjoin match 5v5 with 10 ppl.. Or does it start another server when Anet’s custom arena’s are 10/20 full? because in theory, it’s full aswel because we can’t play..

By “available slots”, I mean that if its a 5v5 and there are less than 10 players (including spectators) in the game.

I’m not 100% sure why they’re always full.

Some times when multiple players hit "play now " at nearly the same time they will get the same arena. This happens because we don’t increment the player count until a player actually joins.

It will also happen because people are just going to the arenas that have the most players. This could be fixed by showing spectator count separately, but we don’t currently have a reliable way to do that and it’s a lower priority.

They’re always full because you capped it at 50 Anet servers. It isn’t fun at all constantly server hopping because you decided to pool the custom servers with your own. The only time I can get a game without trouble is during the early hours of the morning, but these games often end up one sided because of the lack of players.

Either I play during the early morning and slog out the bad matchups or play during the evening and spend most of my time server hopping through custom/full games till I get in. Both arn’t fun at all and I am not going to go into sPvP/tPvP and let my teamdown because I’m playing classes I’m not great at yet. (I’m rusty on my Guardian which I haven’t pvped on in awhile)

The problem is you created this awesome new reward system thats super popular right now but didn’t back it up by adding in a proper tutorial for the infulx of new players aswell as not adding in enough hotjoin servers. Great ideas, but terrible execution and foresight.

I love this game, I love the PvP but things like this are just super fustrating to see and deal with as a player.

PvPers should not be the richest. PvP is extremely easy and doesn’t require as much time as PvE grinding.

Following a commander and autoattacking sure is hard.

Might there be some hidden cap that’s intentional or not? It still isn’t budging past 50. ¯\(°_o)/¯

Not that I’m complaining, it’s fun, and if it’s a bug I’m not sure I want you to fix it :p

I was wrong, we changed it some time back so it will include any custom arena that has progression enabled.

Are there any plans to revert that or are you going to see how it turns out then take any action if needed?

It doesn’t help that hotjoin is lower in the menu than the game browser, I can understand people getting fed up if they do go into Hotjoin and are only able to spectate due to the new 5v5 format then decide to go for arenas instead.

Nothing more fun than getting dumped in an unlocked server with [PRIVATE] DO NOT ENTER and then have to continue the cycle again.

I’m spending more time looking for games than actually playing them at the moment, I either get into a full game or a custom Skyhammer farm server. I’m not going to be selfish jump into SoloQ and hold my team down because I’m rusty or new at playing a class so thats not really an alternative.

They could have told players to hang onto them in game through story dialog/mail instead of getting people’s hopes up. How hard can it be to just add a vendor though?

No. I regularly meet people in the zones that are supposed dead. You need to remember that there is a ton of stuff to do in game and that people will be spread out doing different activities and not standing around in LA/DR waiting for people to count them for another doom and gloom thread.

I’m fine with things in the story being hidden, even jumping puzzles/events being put in without notice but anything to do with game mechanics or the economy is a big nono.

I wish the Wildstar team the best of luck with their game, but good god have I never been so bored quickly with an online game before. There seems to be alot of similarities with GW2 (intentional or not) but the one thing they should have done was ditch the traditional quests and go with the GW2 model. I’d rather have GW2 in space than WoW in space.

1) QA – Day one bugs on most patches that halt progress is unacceptable.
2) Permanent Content – This one speaks for itself.
3) Proper rewards – I don’t want to see a new armour set in the gem store that I can’t earn from the content you just added.

Ugh, nothing for sPvP for almost a month after taking the reward system out seems pretty stupid.

Ugh, half the population of Piken can’t dodge or stand on the circles to boost damage. It’s depressing.

I would vote against this. At least keep light/medium/heavy unique in some way. Makes it somewhat easier to identify a class quickly in pvp too.

Looking at someone’s armour is the last thing I do when i determine their class such as the colour of their spells or a the class icons.

If you ask anet, the personal story’s still ongoing. For some reason. That’s why Destiny’s edge isn’t really around during the Scarlet Story. So I guess no Personal story 2.0

I’m beginning to think that it should have just been a continuation of the personal story all along. Having both just makes it awkward even if it’s a great idea.

I can select a character but I can’t even go past the loading screen without it saying theres a connection issue. Would be great if someone acknowledged we’re having these problems.

It’s sad when the only decent (imo) looking male cloth armour is the heritage stuff.

As much as a cool idea it is, it just leads to the problem Rift has where every female character and loler is running around naked thinking they’re original and funny. If they added some more harnesses or an invsible chest armour for Charr, Norn and Sylvari as cultral armour I think that would be a better substitue because at the moment theres only one and its heavy (that makes my warrior look awesome)

Most problems would be solved if they removed armour restrictions.

Light armour = hoods, masks, dresses and jackets.
Medium armour = hats, bandit cloth masks, trench coats and pants.
Heavy armour = helms, breastplates, skirts and a few pants.

If everyone could wear everything then there wouldn’t be such a big need for new armour, cus there would be a ton of costumization available.

And even just allowing us to hide our chest armour and boots would give us much more costumization.

Before anyone goes ahead and says they wouldn’t be able to differentiate classes from each other if this happened, each character has a class icon and every class spell has a distinct colour.
