Corpse dancing, jumping and other humilation tactics -- When are they acceptable?

It’s not post-mortem. You didn’t die or even lose anything. Heck you probably got rewarded in some way.
People have some strange ideas and comparisons.
Would rather spend the money on costumes and stand in town.
It’s fine, Tier 1-3 servers are all slowly getting nearly 24/7 coverage as guilds organize themselves on different servers.
This is completely false. On the contrary guilds leave servers like ET and HoD and the server completely falls apart.
That’s fine, to each his own. So for those that would really like be competitive in wvwvw, find a server that share the same interests as you.
There’s clearly enough interest on CD in WvW but not for massive amount of time involved, and if your population lapses in a zone for an hour, you lose everything as a zerg overruns everything in notime. Who wants toss away gold for upgrades and siege weapons with this type of system when you can use it for legendary weapons?
Anet will be lucky to get 3 servers interested in WvW with their current 24/7 setup.
What’s the chance of giving us private zones for parties or guilds?
The bot infestation and clueless randoms that you need to deal with take a 5 star PvE experience and drop it down to a 1.
Last week transferring to Kaineng helped, but it looks like in a week the bots have been breeding like rabbits.

Graphics and customisation is half the experiance in GW2. If you want garbage to look at, with some good game play hop over to Runescape and be gone with you
Maybe they will, and you can enjoy your painting yourself.
The primary focus of games, is gameplay (I know shocking). Not pretty images.
I might not see the enemy next to me but I can see that Stag a mile away!
in before topic lock
^ this too.
WvWvW rules and recommendations will mean absolutely NOTHING until they start charging for server transfers.
As it is, people will shift over to a server for 24 hours to perform the following:
1) Supply draining
2) Spying
3) Counteracting a strategy over mapchat and teamchat with other recommendations and orders.
4) Being a rally decoy
Don’t get your hopes up, all this will continue till Arenanet provides the tools for us to deal with these people.
Claiming without buffs ranks right up there with emptying out the supply.
4 teams will fix it.
Perhaps but with 5 people definitely won’t quit when behind.
WvW rewards favor joining a zerg and steamrolling everything.
It’s too bad cause defending can be a lot of fun, but as long as capture rewards are the same for everyone no matter how many participate, and benefits for defending and holding are next to zilch, don’t expect attitudes to change.
Give people time to figure it all out. I expect WvW to be a very different experience 3 months from now.
With current design? It’ll be more of the same but with much much less people.
Low end server might never win but WvW on one is a lot more fun if you have a small 5 man team to run with.
A reset means a clean start for a match.
Bringing supplies from a different time would be the same as letting people bring extra pawns to a chess game.
It’s a big advantage and unless ANet does something about it I suggest you stock up on supplies.
As far as mid-week resets, some sort of immunity till people can zone in and defend would be nice.

You know have been competitive events in the world outside gaming that last all day and sometimes for many days. Can anyone name some?
Just incase you were wondering how popular 24/7 WvW competition will end up being.
8 PM EST, this Saturday, no que and out-manned buffs at an invasion homelands.
Wouldn’t worry too much about queues here atm, but might be a bit of a wait if you want to play Friday night.
Anyone doing anything but pushing ET is playing to lose.
Still no excuse not to show a nameplate or little red circles or enemies on the mini-map.
Hopefully this is something they’re working on.

Fix not displaying anything and don’t ruin the Mesmer.
There’s about a dozen other solutions that can be implemented to display enemies.
It was considerably better before when it automatically ported you back when the timer ran out.
Now you have to watch the tiny little little flashing icon and make sure you press the button again in time for your return. Not exactly a fun thing to do with all the mass particles flying around in mass pvp and large dynamic events.
It was also better not to get ported back if you wanted swiftness from it only. Now the teleport back is just annoying.
The debuffs never mattered. Unless they helped with Consume Conditions.
Overall, a nerf. OP is right.

If you can’t cover your repair costs, how are you paying for siege weapons and fort upgrades? Oo
3-5 siege golems can slice through your garrison like a hot knife through butter.
The amount of psychological warfare and subterfuge that goes on is amazing, and imho far more powerful then any siege weapon or commander icon. Items that cost quite a bit.
Therefore I suggest that each chat costs. Perhaps a silver per word.
Also, the amount of abuse and attacks on players in /map and /team staggering. If ANet is looking for a positive environment, perhaps limit to what can be said to things such as waypoint links, numbers, and words like “attack”, “defend” and so on.
People look to these channels for direction when trying to win, and because of this they are a dream for every troll and sociopath out there.
Another map would just hurt servers with a low population.
Adding a 1v1, partyVparty, and guildVguild system for the right to represent your server in WvW, on the other hand, would be nice.
Another idea when outmanned: Deploy a cattlepult at your spawn that will shoot you to a random location in the zone (that is not directly on top of a capture point). This will make organizing a little difficult but cattlepults are fun and it stops spawn camping.
there are 3 exits out of spawn, just so you know
(But it would be nice to flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy~~)
shhhh, don’t let the secret out
I haven’t gotten to play GW2 this week up until today. So I finally log on to farm me some karma in Orr. After one hour I notice I’m barely getting loot. I’m lucky if I get 1 white salvage item out of 10 undead killed.
So I ask… Why am I, a faithful player of the game being punished because of bots? Can I not play the game without being forced to leave what I’m doing every hour?
I know right? I hope you survive this horrible punishment with your sanity and body intact.
Pretty sure they did this to end the node farming exploit.
Not really expecting it to have an impact in WvW.
With server hopping, quitting and tail-coating in full effect, this all means zip.
Nothing against a non-human opponent is ever challenging.
Posting in another ArenaNet win for me thread.
I want a box of cookies baked by ArenaNet.
“This would seem to indicate that Arenanet’s use of 24-hour matches during the launch period to establish data points really didn’t work.”
It would seem so but it does not. But it does reflect human nature. People quit when they feel they can’t win.
The real fight in WvW will be the weekend after reset, after which the winner can enjoy the fruits for the win and losers can make excuses.
Also, I’m not so sure people will be able to handle 2 weeks of nonstop competition. After a weekend of skipping sleep and nonstop fighting, people need time to recharge.
Something like 90% of this game is PvE, a virtual nirvana of “grifer” free carebeardom with zero challenge scripted AI mobs, yet people complain about PvP in the extremely limited PvP zones.
It boggles the mind.
AoE spells can only hit 5 targets and channeling puts a big sign over your head that reads “hit me, easy kill”
Don’t exploit the lack of friendly fire and collision detection by clumping up in a big gooo of people. It might help you some.
There is a perfect counter.
The 2 losing servers should always only attack the server in the lead, not each other. That’s a massive 2-1 advantage.
But if people want to be foolish and be quiters … well nothing you can do, and tbo this game already rewards losing and bad play waaay to much.
It would be nice if Siege Golems showed up on the map like Trebs do.
Good luck getting the servers balanced when people transfer to the winning servers.
Personally I think you should have to fight and do well, to represent your server in WvW, not get a permanent spot in WvW all night just because you happened to que up early.
If we wanted to be jerks, we could guarantee losses for the top servers by que’ing up before the population rush and doing nothing in WvW but farming nodes and mobs.
Better to lose, don’t have to deal with que’s.
Oh the joys of PvE progression in a PvP world. Anyone that played games like Warhammer won’t he surprised.
Holy crap there’s a lot of dumb in this thread.
There should never EVER be a priority for WvW because of level. Lower levelled characters can easily take out a level 80 if he knows what he is doing, and are no less useful than any other person who wants to WvW.
You’re badly misinformed. We regularly wipe groups of 20 with 5 well equipped level 80’s.
The only way a lowbie will take out an 80 is if he’s AFK or horribad.
Here is an idea. Stop leaving your server at the first sign of losing and running to the best servers. Northern Shiverpeaks can’t even get more than 10 people in one borderlands. Want no queue? Come here!
We might consider moving a low pop server if we can move the whole guild and our upgrades. We also want the option to move back without paying when the low pop servers are ghost-towns a month or two down the line.
Considering this game has very little for highlevels and guilds besides WvW, making them wait in que while lowlevels (that have an amazing amount of content to explore) xp in WvW makes absolutely zero sense.
Only 10 people? I’ve seen over 30 there.
Unless it’s something off-peak, like 3am, my queue times are regularly hours long, trying to get into the same map with your party is even more difficult. Trying to get a part of your guild (20-30) to run a coordinated siege is next to impossible.
