Using gw2efficiency to calculate a 12 week average comes out to about 24 ranks per week for me. A typical week involves 6-8 hours of small group play and 2-4 hours of large group play. This is with exp and celebration boosters.
PROTIP: To lower your rating, don’t cap or hold objectives.
I recommend FA
Only if they and/or you are on a guest server.
PPT is a choice.
A less clunky explanation of the possible BG matches:
Here’s a table of the possible rolls each server could have had in the current matchup, using the formula for rolls as Rating+-(Deviation*Volatility). Any roll highlighted as yellow in this table means the server making the roll can have the same exact roll as BG. One thing to consider is that the lowest server YB’s maximum roll is higher than the minimum roll of servers 4-11. If YB had a maximum roll and everything between YB and BG had a lower roll than YB, YB and BG could have been matched against eachother. The ones with higher rating than BG obviously also had a possibility of matching against BG. So, this means BG had the possibility of matching against any other NA server in the current matchup.
Edit:
I believe this answers the question “can someone explain why Black gate is in tier 2?”.

From my very limited understanding of how Glicko works:
The range of possible rolls for BG’s rating used to determined matchup was pretty much Rating+-Deviation. AKA 1902.7759+-151.1782 or anything from 1750.8218 to 2053.9541. For HoD, 1622.6964 to 1919.3012. The range in which these two ranges intersect is 1750.8218 to 1919.3012. This means they both more or less rolled a number in this range.
Edit: The range might actually be Rating+-(Deviation/2) or Rating+-(Deviation*Volatility). I’m not very well versed in the ways of Glicko. Recalculations to follow.
Edit2: BG range 1902.7759+-75.5891 -> 1827.1868 to 1978.3650
HoD range 1770.9988+-74.1512 -> 1696.8476 to 1845.1500
Intersection 1827.1868 to 1845.1500

Note: there are a lot of assumptions in this post.
Using the following assumptions to maximize damage: signet of might, empower allies, all banners, 25 vulnerability, 25 might, 20% damage of berserker’s power, 10% from stick and move, 10% from forceful greatsword, 24% from destruction of the empowered (everything but aegis, protection, and resistance), 7% from burst mastery, 7% from always angry, 10% from bloody roar, 5% from sigil of force, 10% from seaweed salad, 10% from scholar runes, etc.
You get an effective power of 32,364 from gw2power.com: http://bit.ly/2nisI0c
gw2skills.net build used to fill in the gw2power.com stats: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQJARBhMdoujdfw2jliAzYA8ACAvD3k7zVpL06yCA-T1RBABmpE04LAAAPAA80BQp6PXt/o8bhjAQAAEgbezAw5Nv5Nv5NPX3m38m38mlCYgdWA-w
Using the damage done formula from the wiki: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage#Damage_done
Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
Maximum greatsword weapon strength: 1155 https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon_Strength
Skill coefficient: 2.31 (assuming below 50% health for the purpose of maximum damage) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Arc_Divider
Target’s armor: 6600 (3.3k*2 since shroud gives 50% damage reduction) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Death_Shroud#Mechanics
So you have: maximum damage done = 1155*32364*2.31/6600 = 13,083
That would mean, even with maximum damage modifiers, you wouldn’t get hit with a 15k arc divider with 3.3k armor.
However, the wiki says
While in Death Shroud, direct damage is halved, except when the hit depletes all of the life force. This damage reduction isn’t shown in the combat log.
I believe this means a 7.5k hit received in shroud would show up as 15k in the combat log. I also believe it says that if the 15k arc divider were to deplete the shroud, it would do the full 15k damage. Using the 13k number above and removing the 50% damage reduction from shroud, you’d receive a maximum 26k arc divider. Taking out absurd damage damage modifiers like banners and whatever from the 26k, 15k is definitely possible in this scenario.
I’d recommend getting on a warrior, going to the raid lobby training area, and seeing how hard arc divider can hit with maximum damage modifiers on an enemy with known armor rating. Hot join would possibly work for it too, but you’d have to account for the loss of food and possibly traits acting differently.
Finally… After months… TC is open for transfers.
According to my records, TC was closed 2 weeks ago after being open for 4 weeks. That’s not what I’d call “months” of being closed.
At least 17 times.

Population and PPT capability tend to correlate, but they are not the same thing.
The API says ET will be Mag’s link.
Here’s a tip: you can get WvW reward track potions from WvW dailies. There’s always 4 dailies and they give 1-2 potions. Using 80 potions at once completes a full reward track. It takes about 15 days to complete a reward track this way, depending on which dailies are given. Some days you can even complete all the dailies in less than 10 minutes.
Server links are a miracle of the universe.
You have approximately 31% of the total current skirmish points while they have approximately 41%. Going by this, you have approximately 75% the coverage of them. Also, you have more skirmish points than the third server. These are not the signs of being outnumbered 24/7.
kitten that
I just got the bug. The keep I got it from does not have Presence of the Keep. Before picking it up, I had 0 supply.
edit:
Nevermind, it does have Presence of the Keep. I’m blind lol. It just doesn’t show up on the buff bar.
There may have been a coordinated attempt to troll the queue with people hitting the re-queue button when it came up.
Just had a quick look into out match and saw that the skirmish score is
5-4-3. How can that be? Shouldn’t_it 3-2-1? (i.e. the sum should be always a many of 6, but not 15)
5+4+3 = 12 = 2*(1+2+3), so it’s reasonable to assume that 2 skirmishes have completed.
Thx for the answer. I’m actually interested in BG more than TC. I wonder how long “soon” is. I guess I will just check every day I log in XD.
For the past couple of months, the population has been updated once a week. It’s always some time on Monday.
Any of BG/TC/DB/Mag for ET would be fine with me. Anything else and I’ll bandwagon to whichever of them looks to have a good balance of players not randomly dying and minimal queues.
do u grub??
Hey everyone,
After reading through the comments and feedback, and some deliberation among the team – we have decided to adjust Crystal Desert by +300 for this match only, making them more likely to advance out of tier 4. Next week we will adjust them to +200.
Thank you for this.
This build isn’t what I’d call “new”. In fact, a similar one was listed on Metabattle (http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_Hammer/GS_Roamer) approximately 2 years ago.
The main concern I have with running this in small-scale combat is that the hammer skills are very telegraphed.
One food you might consider running is Fried Golden Dumpling.
Gift Of Battle [AFK] is recruiting anybody who wants something to rep while getting the most out of their WvW participation points. Whisper/mail Serkit.7836 for an invite. Default rank is “Inviter” so you can invite your friends and be AFK together! :)

Probably something close to this, assuming it’s from after the healing turret cast time increase was implemented. It’s hard to tell since “his recording video” isn’t very specific. If you look on the video you’re referring to, you should be able to tell what utilities he was using, so change the linked build accordingly. If he was using adaptive armor instead of final salvo, you should be able to tell based on the presence of stability on gyro activation or the adaptive armor icon on his effect bar.
I hit diamond on 2 accounts today with 85%+ win rates on both (a little higher if you count 1-2 DC losses per account). Solo queue every game. Could be luck, could be matchmaking. If you’re losing a lot, just take a break.
Because people don’t listen and it gets really frustrating. A lot of them (mainly the underage ones) seem go into shock when they hear a female voice.
There seems to be a bug with the Legendary Collector achievement when forging Eternity. At some point last year, I had already bound my Sunrise. Today I made Twilight. Before making Eternity, my Legendary Collector achievement had a completion of “2/5 bound legendaries”, the one other than Sunrise being Bifrost. After making Eternity, the achievement is still at 2/5. I had assumed that Twilight would be bound in the process of making Eternity, so I didn’t bother with it. I have the Twilight, Dusk, experiment, etc. skins unlocked, so that part worked.
It seems like every time I get paired with or against players from two certain Pro League guilds, they do very rude things. Mainly these rude things are done on their streams in the form of comments. My problems with these comments are that they usually aren’t very constructive and they aren’t in game (i.e. team chat). If they were in game, I could probably be able to improve instead of continuing to do unsuitable actions. In game rudeness usually include things like (if on the same team) targeting me before a game (since I’m apparently known as “worst player NA” or something). Low MMR games are fine, but I seem to get streaks followed by games that require ten times more effort (and it doesn’t let me go back down). I’ve been trying to “get good” but it apparently can not be done while solo queuing. So, should I stop (solo) queuing altogether or should I join a guild that is dedicated to PvP so I can queue with other players (and get more immediate feedback)?
I moved from SBI to JQ last night and guess what I found? Enemies on the borderlands. It wasn’t just one little 10 man group, it was multiple groups of 20+. That’s something I had not seen in T3 since the release of HoT outside of reset night. 10/10 would transfer again.
You can actually check the time until the next upgrade finishes now. Just click the circle-icon of the structure on the map or mini-map. It even works for enemy structures.
Attached is a table of crit multipliers compared to 24% crit chance with 150% crit damage (i.e. full soldier with fury).
I’m confused what do the numbers on the table represent?
The crit multiplier you would have with the selected crit chance and crit damage (anywhere from 1.12 to 1.84) divided by the crit multiplier you’d have with 0 base crit chance and crit damage (1.12).
It is basically a subsection of the table at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Critical_hit#Average_damage_increase with every value divided by 1.12.
At least try to get 13% base crit chance (crit every third hit with fury) and you should be fine in terms of damage. Another benchmark is 30% so you can crit every other hit with fury. Guardian has a lot of direct damage modifier traits so just take some of those if you feel like you need more.
edit:
Attached is a table of crit multipliers compared to 24% crit chance with 150% crit damage (i.e. full soldier with fury). The end value (70.5% with 219%) is about where you’d be with full zerk and scholar runes. All values are independent of power and other direct damage multipliers. Fury is assumed to have 100% uptime.

Have you tried it with Magi stats? Since you’re running Force of Will, it would give you more healing effectiveness (+23% → +32%). You could also try replacing Merciful Intervention with Shield of the Avenger, which gives AoE aegis on command (command has 15 sec cooldown, summon has 60 sec).
I think a nomad (tough/heal/vit) amulet would be amazing for bunker guards. Since toughness is apparently too OP (or something like that), maybe a heal/tough/vit (to be in line with cleric) is the answer.
No rifles from the guardian chest, and zero focus from the warr chest.
I was referring to the items a revenant could use since the question was concerning a revenant chest. As far as I know, revenants can not use foci or rifles.
The item you get from them is account bound. Warrior chest has everything but staff, guardian chest has everything but axe. Pick one.
It’s literally the same as it has always been as far as I know (except for the un-nerf in PvP where they boosted it from 0.5 to 1 point per healing power). You just don’t get the 150-300 extra healing power from the trait line now.
I think having daily WvW resets would be the best possible scenario in order to alleviate things like stale matchups and would help to ``put down’’ newly dead servers quicker.
That is not viable given the spread of timezones.
It is very viable considering one day covers every timezone.

I am best DPS guard NA/EU/CN/AF
Hi! [VOID] runs anything from 1-5, usually from NA prime to late NA/early OCX (like 5 pm Central to 3 or 4 or 5 am). We don’t care what you run and most of the guild is drunk every night. No rep requirement ever. Whisper Serkit.7836, Packit.2953, Alvin N.1456, bobfunk.5960 or anybody you see repping for an invite.
I was able to solo the grub in less than 8 minutes on condi warrior before the patch. My best time was ~5 minutes and I averaged around 7.
I personally think this should happen, but it probably will not because ANet.
NS, iN, and FKU seem to be your choices. Maybe even TM, but I’m not sure if they’re still on YB or currently active. The best thing to do is choose one and apply to their website.
