Have you tried working with the Tech CS Team accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below? They may be able to help with your issue.
Good luck.
I have not, I thought I would ask the community first. I’ll head there if it acts up again. and thank you
Get the latest drivers direct from your manufacturer, including any firmware (likely for the SSD) and update your BIOS.
This was done when I installed Windows 10 fresh about 2 weeks ago
As a quick test, try swapping between wireless and wired
Thought about trying this as well, don’t have a cord long enough. I’ll buy one and test if it acts up again
run GW2 from the HDD (simply copy the folder over).
Already tried. As another side note, I installed GW2 32 and 64 bit clean, and downloaded the dat file probably about 4 or 5 different times and tried it on both different drives, and even from external drives via USB 3.0. Same problems occurred.
As a simple CPU test, go into the BIOS, find the CPU and disable hyper threading and limit it to only 2 cores.
will try this if it acts up again.
If you’ve updated Windows, reinstall and avoid the Creator’s update, which has caused various problems.
It was a clean install, and I don’t see the Creators update under the list of updates applied. Will keep an eye out for that.
Have you tried replacing the battery?
Not as of yet. The battery is internal. From time of posting, I can’t find a replacement to purchase.
Is your computer plugged into a socket-outlet that has overload protection?
Yes
On that note, so far I have not experienced a crash after setting the pagefile to be disregarded and reloaded on every shutdown and boot. (I restart my computer every other night.) From the time of posting, the problem appears to be fixed.
I will update if it pops up again. (after trying what was stated above)
~Edit 5/31/17~
About two days have passed since time of posting. Granted I have had little play time with my new job, however, so far all has been good.
I turned the group policy off, so windows no longer discards the pagefile on shutdown. It’s been like that a day so far, and all seems to be in order. Will update later with progress.
~Edit 6/3/17~
Just crashed again, guild wars triggered it again. Set the page file to be discarded on shutdown, that appears to solve my issue. Will update if it happens again with the file being discarded. Otherwise assume that fixed the issue.
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
Windows might not use pagefile on boot. Paging is basically swapping. It usually used when the ram full. I am a bit wondering if it causing your errors since paging shouldnt really fail.
I set it to clear it on a shutdown, and recreate on boot.
I have had GW2 open for about 2 hours now, no crashes as of yet. The dmp file is set to save automatically already.
Forced a crash with that link you provided (reg edit), Blue screen showed up, it saved the dmp file. But with my problem, it doesn’t ever blue screen. The game freezes, then a few seconds later the sound freezes, then all my monitors go dark, then I see the start up logo. It doesn’t get a chance to do a dmp file
it is currently plugged in. and it has a 94% charge. I’ll keep an eye on it to see if that is the case.
May I ask, is the logs trim in anyway? I cant load it up to event viewer.
Not that I know of. It may have cut off some info when I saved it as an xml file. Let me see if I can find that particular one. Will edit with all the info event viewer gives me when I find it
~Edit~
It doesn’t appear to me like there is any other info given regarding that message. It doesn’t happen before every restart either (just checked that) I’ve got about 4 of those warnings, 1 from the 14th, then three from the 22nd. I did have like 5 crashes on the 22nd however. The info I found in the event is pasted below.

~Edit #2~
set the pagefile to be cleared and reloaded on every restart, will restart then try GW2 once more! I’ll post later with info if this happens again or not.
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
you know, you should post all those logs.
logs from a crash posted. (includes some from previous crash as well)
I might even ask which what is your storage device
1TB Hitachi HGST HTS721010A9E630 (SATA)
250GB NVMe THNSN5256GPU7 TO (RAID) (OS | GW2 installed here)
Didn’t ask per say, but here is the info anyway.
if you ever ran an chkdsk before.
yes, about 3 hours ago. No errors reported. Sorry I don’t have a screenshot for you.
Is there anything else you need? Perhaps all of the event files from the past 20 or so crashes? Just let me know
~Edit~
either way, you have not really posted any information about your laptop. I am not psychic and I cannot help you blindly.

Two things, first make a new thread Sister Xing, dont necro old threads.
Thread was already necro’d, latest post was 5 days ago.
second, I am going to pretend the RMA knows what they are doing. Did you ever check windows event logs?
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722404(v=ws.11).aspx
Your description is not really that helpful. It can be anything. It can be the storage for all I know.
yes. I did, and they simply report a critical error, windows shutdown unexpectedly. Not very helpful either. And the error number tracks back to the same thing, some generic error.
General things you should check with that or similiar issues:
1. Do you get a BSoD? If so, write down the error code and file listed as the cause.
2. How long has it been since your last clean Windows install? There might be corrupt drivers or system files (for the latter, try this).
3. You can run a full check of your RAM.
4. Have you tried to replace your S-ATA data cable(s) that connect your motherboard to your hard disk drive(s)? If one is broken, it can lead to a sudden reboot (among other issues).
5. Have you checked for overheating issues with your hardware?
Just recently started having this problem over the past couple of weeks. My laptop had to be sent back for an RMA (the 3mm mic port stopped functioning, though is working now)
When it was returned I reinstalled windows 10, and all other programs. Before this GW2 worked beautifully.
1. No blue screen, everything simply freezes up, then restarts.
2. Like 2 weeks ago.
3. Received a printed report from RMA saying all their stress tests passed, memory was one thing tested, including GPU memory
4. It’s a laptop… recently RMA’d
5. Yes, CPU and GPU temps never getting high.
Just to test to see if it was really GW2 having this problem, I didn’t launch it for nearly a week. Never had a problem.
The minute I launched GW2, logged into my engi, started chopping down a tree….. frozen, then 10 sec later the comp rebooted. No blue screen no warning. (Auto restart WAS on. Just turned that off. Will update if that happens again.)
I have ONCE been able to tab out of GW2 when it froze like this, and went about other things on my other monitors. After about 2 or 3 minutes, GW2 kicked me to the logon screen saying the connection with the server had been lost. I have not been able to duplicate this.
Nothing else is causing restarts…. and it’s awful when it crashes right as Morty dies in DS ;-;
It’s crashed in instances, in guild halls, in PvE, WvW, PvP, even when I’m the only player I can see in a PvE map, I don’t know what is causing it, but it’s seemingly random. Sometimes within 2 minutes of launching the game, sometimes after 4 hours of play. Sometimes it works fine all day! I don’t understand this.
I don’t know who fixed it, but thank you so much!
Logged in again this morning… hoping to be fixed… still stuck ;-;
Myself and one other friend are stuck, opened a ticket. Plz help, I need to finish league participator ;-;
His account name is daborn.4796
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
Well, to be perfectly honest I hadn’t submitted one yet. Figured I’d pester those on the forums about it first and see if there was a common or easy fix. Quite a few people I talk to also have this issue and some avoid the two maps entirely. I’ll send in a ticket now though, if no one here has an answer
EDIT: Sent the ticket in. “Note: We are receiving a high volume of tickets at this time, but we will get to your ticket as quickly as possible. Please do not submit extra tickets, as this will slow down our response time. Thanks for your patience!”
Hopefully I’ll hear back soon
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
Please can someone explain this? D= I can never get anymore than 10 FPS in SW.
EDIT: Except when I go underground during Breach and my CPU Spikes (second pic)
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
an armor set that has a glow/aura depending on profession, like the GW1 bosses.
Look! they already have the basic effect done and in game!
how did this get buried? I have been having these issues non stop. I know it’s not my computer, CPU or graphics card. I experience a 1 to 2 second FPS lag in everything I do. even the menus and inventory. It’s not the jumpy lag I experience from my internet either. Smooth 1 to 2 second delays on everything I do… This happens to me no where else in the game… not even in massive zerg fights in WvW. Whats up with that…?
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
Just thought of another idea… If the light/med/heavy classifications were removed. (ONLY FOR SKINS) as in you could skin a light helm skin on med, or a mid chest piece on a light… keep the class armor restrictions, but allow the skins to become universal…. that would open so many possibilities in armor mix and matching QuQ Never going to happen probably, but I would be satisfied.
I’m too lazy to look through everything here… but, if it hasn’t been suggested already… It would be nice to pull in an armor set that has a glow/aura depending on profession, like the GW1 bosses.
(sorry about the low quality and small pix…)
Edit: Oh… and maybe some armor for female humans that doesn’t have a molded boob plate or boob window or some other massive hole that exposes skin…. It would be nice to have my ranger in some actual nice looking armor xD Or make all the male armor nothing but speedos and leather straps to compensate, I’d be cool with that too.

And I say “your” guild because you claim not to be in the guild anymore, yet you’re defending them on here…
I am defending those that are still my friends. And I take offence at someone blaming the entire 500 member guild for the actions of a few. That is why I am defending them. If you could put up a valid point that the ENTIRE guild is in fact mass reporting people then the guild wouldn’t exist, they’d have all been banned for abusing the reporting system. Something that big wouldn’t slide through the cracks at Anet.
I am defending them because creating character names and impersonating people while logged onto said character names to get screenshots because you can’t get other evidence is drastic.
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
As do I, I have screens of that person being logged on and impersonating two different people with the same account name =) and it is stated in the GW2 rules, that impersonating another is not allowed. You can be sure I reported them with screenshots =)
and again as I said before, I’m no longer in that guild.
I am not against fighting in EoTM, but when someone gets to breaking the rules of the game and being hateful to other players just because they don’t like something….. That’s really childish.
" #1. While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.
#5You may not impersonate any employee of ArenaNet Inc., NC Interactive, Inc., NCsoft Corporation or their affiliates, or impersonate any other person (including, without limitation, celebrities)."

(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
It was the same account name for both people. It was a troll. The two people he impersonated, against the rules of GW2, do not have the account name that those two characters shared. I personally know both of them, and I know it was a troll. The two people he impersonated would not threaten banning. They know Anet doesn’t support them, and they wouldn’t say things like that in team chat.
(edited by Sister Xing.9072)
TikaWayln.3074 if you are talking about the BL map I was just commanding not more than an hour ago, that was a troll. The player intentionally made player names similar to [EotM] members to give them a bad name. I just recently left the guild because so many people are getting kicked for apparently no reason D= I’m not sour about it, not everyone in the guild is bad and quite a few of them are still my friends. It’s just a bunch of drama that’s it. I enjoy EOTM and when ktrains go smoothly, the rewards are fantastic. But I too enjoy my fair share of PvP…. keep in mind though there are ALWAYS more than one EOTM map open at once. And when the guild is ktraining in ONE map, there is always another to join if you don’t like the boring grind. It really is not that big of a deal. Trolling someone because you are sour just seems like a waist of time to me.

after a while tho if you do that event more then once your “prize” goes down. I know I was tryin to get mats in a lvl 63 char area and my karma from each event went form 300 to around 24.
I suggest that they implement a program that once the player is reported these things happen:
#1 A menu (that can’t be closed) comes up with one of those pictures we all see when we sign up for accounts. (those ones that say “type what you see here”)
#2 Implement a time limit. Ex 1 minute or so
#3 If they don’t type in what the “picture” says then they get kicked from the game.
That keeps normal players from being wrongly reported and bots off the game ^-^
First of all I find it extremely annoying that when my character is in combat it walks SO SLOW I mean like is there a practical use for that? If I was being attacked I would be running faster not slower -.- And to top that when my pet gets attacked I am “in combat” making me run slow. The stow pet option helps with this but only when I’m not in combat. What if I want to fight w/o the bother of a pet? It kinda sucks that I can’t stow my pet during combat too. In GW1 you could just drop the charm animal skill but here it seems impossible to fight w/o ones pet.
If I missed an option to do this please tell me where it is ^-^ if not then support me!

I mean if it works for online accounts why not MMO bots?

I very much agree with this. It would make my life sooo much easier as a guild leader.
Also I think it would be nice to have a guild mailing option. So if i want to host an event I can send out a mass mail to everyone in my guild. ^-^
