Thanks FXLEACH, that fixed my issue of being stuck at 1 file. x
It’s been stated over and over by various influential people that Guild Wars 2 is about aesthetics; Fashion Wars 2.
While I sincerely appreciate the absence of the Pay 2 Win model in Guild Wars 2, I can’t get on board with the increase in outfit releases.
I feel that outfits are lazy, underwhelming, kitten, and generally add to the truly hideous aesthetic that the majority of the middle aged straight male player base has cultivated through the purchase of these rags. If you wish I am willing and able to private message you the amount of money in AUD that I spent on counselling after the Ice Climbers outfit was released a few months back.
While I’m more than sure that there is a well thought out and logical business reason for creating outfits instead of Mix-N-Match armour sets I don’t think it’s fair to the playerbase who primarily play this game for making new and unique armour combos that don’t involve Molten Gauntlets and/or the Hellfire Mask. I for one am far more willing to spend more money on a set of armour that will be able to be used in multiple different outfit combos instead of a single outfit in which the only available customisation is the dye channels.
Nothing I can say here will have a significant impact on the decision, if any, that ArenaNet make on this issue but as Nike.2631 has said, we need to vote with our money for any real change to be made regarding this topic.
A moment of silence for all the elementary school children who will go hungry when their father’s buy Countess Anise’s outfit because of their insatiable libidos.
This is just an example of the immaturity we decent and level headed players have to deal with.
Yeah. Your response is really decent and level headed. Nice job.
ArenaNet,
Can you PLEASE fix the bug which is causing my finisher to revert back to the default flagpole? I tire of having to change it back. While not a tedious task it is frustrating to have to keep doing over and over.
Maybe it’s a subtle metaphor for the state of the game? All of my hope being reverted back to nothing constantly and the fact that I am having to do all the end game content over and over. I’m not sure…
What I am sure of is that this fix is extremely important for the integrity of your company. People are paying their own real life money. You’re making a profit and wages from these items which are faulty.
If I bought an item from Target and it only worked half the time and I had to open it up and give the batteries a jiggle, move them around, put them back in to get it to work again, I’d take it back to the store and ask for a refund or a functioning replacement; as I’m sure you would also.
This item is no different. People are paying for a product that is not working as it should, do we get refunds on our finishers or should you fix the problem (functioning replacement).
Thanks, Jammy Jam Space Jam Ham Jamaroo. x
Thieves aren’t the only class to get nerfs that aren’t needed. Do we all remember the totally random iLeap nerf for a recent example. You all need to open your eyes and realise that this game isn’t good and ArenaNet aren’t sure how to make it so.
Amon, take your own advice and stop wasting your time on this game.
If they nerf S/D again, im outtie.
As an Ele with 3.5k hours, dual Incinerators, and Meteorlogics, I think that ArenaNet need to leave D/D alone and focus on the other weapons.
D/D is already stupidly strong especially with Celestial gear/amulet. Focus skills could use a look at. As could chill affecting attunement swapping. But please for the love of god do not buff D/D specifically any more.
Thanks,
Jam
“That” Mag roamer.
It’s not really a secret. :P Get on your Ele and carefully go through all the Glyph abilities.
NO ONE SAY ANYTHING! SECRETS MUST BE KEPT.

Hey! Just wanna congratulate you on not just whining about the class being OP but instead asking for ways to beat it.
I find the absolute worst thing to happen to me when fighting is to be chilled a few seconds after I’ve left water attunement. Chill really screws an Ele up as it puts our attunements on a longer cooldown and a primary way of removing condis is to attune to water…you see how this is an issue?
It may not seem like much to you but to the Ele it’s all hands to panic stations.
Try your absolute best to land Steal and Ice Shard Stab 2 to 3 seconds after the Ele has left water attunement.
Good luck!
I´m playing staff ele since the last major balance patch and it works pretty well, but those 2 skills are just not fun to use/clunky/frustrating..
I don’t think you understand how to play this weapon set. To play it correctly you drop a static field on point and shout, “I’m so stunning!” as people run into it to really immerse yourself in the game and become more hyped about the current match.
Lightning surge is a 1,5 sec cast for a blind. Blinds are intended to be used reactively to mitigate damage.
Yet again you show your lack of knowledge in this class. You just use all the abilities that are off CD in one attunement then go on to the next. It’s very simple once you’re as experienced at Elementalist as I am.
Try out these pro tips and get back to me with how you went. Good luck! <3
I just use Rune of vampirism.
Hit 20% become mist, now you cant be hurt by direct damage, and your invisible
Me too! It’s great! Ever said, “There’s no way he’s still alive…” when your zerg jumped on a thief who goes invis? It’s cause of the synergy this trait has with these runes. :P
Heya,
Can anyone provide me with any info on whether Legendary weapons will be able to eventually change their stats to Ventari?
Compensation for the introduction of ascended weapons was to make Legendary weapons equal to the best items in game.
Grinding gold for a prestige weapon should, in my opinion, make these weapons the ‘best’ weapons in game and should be continuously updated as things like new stat combos are released.
Is this intentional or simply an oversight?
Thanks. x
Uhm, ArenaNet. Are you kidding me!?
This icon was so awesome as it looked incredible on my bar not surrounded by a black box. It added to making me a special snowflake and I am legit not wanting to use this heal anymore because of it. Please change it back. Thank you.
Your incessant kindergarten flaming in chat is something to be ashamed of but your gameplay was fine. I hope that no experienced Eles in here give you too many tips if I’m to be totally honest.
I for one am supremely salty that people are rolling FotM Ele now that they’re strong again. I kinda wish we’d stayed how we were pre-patch where only decent players got the results new Ele players are getting now.
^ 7/10
The maroon colour doesn’t really suit and a lot of players are currently using the Ancestral Outfit.
Indeed, warrior and guardian are not popular I take it?
The only classes I can think of without a viable condition build are Elementalists and Guardians.
Also you only specified three of the 8 classes. What about the other 5? What do they run?
This logic is invalid. You’re assuming that all 8 classes are used evenly.
It would mean that we have to introduce that enhances condition damage which is not a good idea.
I just don’t believe we have a condition meta.
MMMMKAY.
(edited by SonOfKrypton.4357)
So wait you’re saying that almost every tpvp team/match up has at least 3 players whose main damage type are conditions?
I am saying that the increase in condition specs seen in PvP isn’t just because they like seeing pretty red condition floaters.
Am I the only one who finds it extremely indicative that the only players in this thread who are adverse to the idea of this boon play Necromancers. There’s a reason Necromancers were given Daggers, Axes and Warhorns. They’re called power builds.
Again I have to repeat myself from the other thread: What condition-meta?
The total dominance direct damage has in tPvP
We’re playing a different game, honey.
if you want to make a list of the multipliers, at least try to make a complete one:
You can make all the lists you want, love. Doesn’t mean mine is any less credible. There is no direct opposite equivalent of Weakness as there is for many other boons.
Currently, there are more conditions in the game than boons. Arguing that a boon to combat the condition meta is bad for the game has no merit and as far as I am concerned anyone that denies the simple logic I’ve just posed has far more problems than worrying about a condition in a video game.
Nothing multiplies condition damage, either in a positive or negative direction. This is fine for balance.
This is a biased viewpoint not only because you main Necromancer (as per your signature) but also because you conveniently decided to mention that nothing multiplies condition damage without mentioning that Weakness divides power damage.
Power:
- Might Increases Damage
- Weakness Decreases Damage
Conditions:
- Might Increases Damage
- ?
This boon is fine for balance.
+1
I dont know, balance ?
Oh, I meant do I put this well justified and insightful suggestion at the front end or the back end of my post?
Tainted Shackles isn’t a channeled ability.
10 POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR!
IMO you should add this to your suggestion.
Remove the ability to switch attunement while casting skill.
To what end?
Tainted Shackles isn’t a channeled ability.
10 POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR!
What about “changing attunement while channeling skills” ?
I guess that’s similar to exiting Death Shroud while using Tainted Shackles. Lets not go there, bub.
I’d like to see templates set out exactly how the Hero panel is now except with an arrow on either side and a nameplate at the top so you can name each build. The arrows would allow a player to scroll through his/her builds.
A key feature would be for the template to double as storage of the trinkets and armour so they don’t take up inventory space.
In the previous game I played they made a similar feature but put all the information online for any player to search through. I wouldn’t want people to be able to find my builds that I spent time to make work for me and them just be able to copy it.
Stop, drop, and roll trait. You are welcome.
I’m aware that this trait is really useful but I wasn’t asking for ways to counter chill, just bringing attention to what seems to be, in my eyes, an unjustfied balance issue.
Eles need some counters. They’re already too much faceroll in this meta
What meta are you referring to? They had one nerf reverted and an evade put on Burning Speed. This was a problem before this patch regardless.
what if chill affected every other professions’ weapon swap time as well?
I know the frustration so I don’t think that’s fair either. In an ideal world I would like for it to just affect weapon abilities.
I would really love to see this idea reworked or thoroughly thought out, ArenaNet.
Chill affecting attunement swapping is extremely detrimental to an Elementalist as a trait that is heavily relied upon for survivability is Elemental Attunement. If Eles are unable to utilise this trait because of a single condition it is near impossible to recover in a fight 1v1 let alone a group fight. The Steal chill duration, coupled with the fact that Steal is an instant cast and cannot be predicted, makes thieves particularly exasperating to fight as there is only a small amount of knowledge needed to use this skill effectively against the Elementalist.
Elementalists have no weapon swap and the only logical reason I can think of as to why chill affects attunement swapping is to punish having twenty weapon skills even further. Where does it end? Many thoughtful Elementalist builds have Cleansing Water as a means to remove conditions when attuning to water to counter play conditions. This means that the main source of active counter Eles have is being put on a longer cool down and I cannot see the logic behind this as it does not facilitate play-counter play tactics.
Thanks for your time.

using emotes to boast a win is rude and those who do spam, especially those who /laugh when they beat you should be reportable. It is bad sportsmanship, it is punishable in real life, it should be the same in game.
It is reportable, “Spamming” is the option you choose.
I do it if they’re using a cheese spec that I absolutely hate or if they have been pretentiously jump dodge-rolling or constantly running.
Real life sport. lol.
I have worse. I encountered a Condition Warrior that was using Perplexity and Distracting Strikes. I of course beat him.
I love your opening Paragraph. Rather arrogant.
^-^
candi-spamm
Not gonna lie, this sounds delicious.
What’s revolutionary about this build?
I tried glyph builds before, albeit not that all-in. Basically GoEP is very nice, but the rest is not that much. The AI is useless, it will get destroyed within a few seconds in team fights. The buffs are good for regen uptime but essentially useless for the rest. The cast times are long and easy to interrupt. But most importantly you will get wrecked by lack of condition removal.
Is it normal that the build editor shows runes of the traveler?
Oh, heehee. xD.
I put Runes of Traveler on because I knew that a lot of Eles like to squeal about the RTL nerf so this gives them a lot more mobility.
And I have no issues with condition removal, less skilled players might though so maybe they can tweak it to be more of a beginner build.
I really appreciate your feedback! ^.^
Talented players tend to produce more that just statements about themselves
I produced the new imba build that will become the meta for all Elementalists. Not my fault if you don’t want to grasp this glyph bull by the horns and ride that rodeo through all the DPS Guardians Sunrises.
I have never heard of you and I could not find you in the top of solo queue ladders nor team arena.
Maybe you should get more informed about the game? Thorp is obviously very up to date and in the know, so…
“Hey, who is that?”
peers into the distance
“Oh, it’s that extremely distinctive Elementalist, Attunejam!”
Hello fellow Elementalists! You probably know me. I am a very well known and skilled Elementalist. If you haven’t heard of me then you most likely are very new at Elementalist and are probably really bad, anyway…
I’ve pioneered the new imba Elementalist build.

This is my glyph Elementalist build. Don’t be too disheartened if it doesn’t work for you straight away! Practice makes perfect. Some of us #elitism Elementalists are better than others afterall!
I won’t mind if you remember my name and argue that I am the founder of this new OP build. Attunejam is a synonym for “Betterthan” just fyi.
Have fun with this build, everyone!
Love from your friendly, distinctive, neighbourhood Elementalist.

And why I care is because there’s enough misinformation being spread in this game, tricking people in to thinking Pack runes are even on the same level as strength so you can cash out is pathetic.
What other misinformation?
Did it ever occur to you that not everyone is a min-maxing tryhard and were just sharing their ideas with the community? For all you know this poor OP whose thread has been high jacked by Mr Righteous never even saw the post you are continually squealing about.
Pack runes are just average runes a bunch of people from good fights stocked up on heavily and then told everyone was good so that they could unload theirs.
Even if this is true, why do you care? Is it jealousy? Is it conflict for the sake of conflict? I’m really confused by this passive aggressive post. Whatever bee is in your bonnet needs to fly back to its hive and continue timing itself Fiery Rushing into walls.
This was a totally unnecessary post and the only conclusion I can come to is that you need an outlet for your rage that real life doesn’t provide.
Pipe down, honestly.
ÀrenaNet…
We need the bunny ears back. Like. ASAP.
I’m pretty sure it’s in your best interest to make these available again in the gem store because I can tell for a fact that now these can be used in combat, a lot of people will be buying them.
Nothing more humiliating than a playboy bunny with a llama finisher stomping all the hammer monkeys in sPvP.
Thanks!
xoxo Attunejam
What interests me is not the actual usefulness of the build. But the fact that it is indeed possible to support a team of (let us say for example, unskilled/new players) with a [Healer] spec.
There is not an actual need for it. But it is there now, and feasible if someone finds a use for it.
Oh! Sorry, I misunderstood.
Yeah absolutely.
Imagine being able to burst a glass Thief dead. But being unable to kill them because a fully Bunker Ele was sustaining them near indefinitely?
What about a group of glass Thieves supported by such an Ele?
Definitely possible but it would take quite a bit of communication and initiative on the Ele’s part to guess where to put the fields so the thieves movement isn’t restricted by having to stay in the water fields.
(edited by SonOfKrypton.4357)
Given the fact that having 10 unspent trait points now gives +150 to Healing Power your build is highly viable.
On paper it looks good but getting people to stay in your water fields is easier said than done.
Regarding using it in PvE, the meta is still to do the most damage as possible in order to kill the enemy before they have a chance to kill you.
Regarding using it in zergs there’s no need for max healing power on water fields because there’s usually enough (in organised groups) people to blast it and get back to 100% in my experience.
I’m in no way saying your idea is bad it’s just that the game doesn’t really need max healing power in PvE or Zergs at this moment in time.
Maybe try it in sPvP as a bunker spec by putting the final 10 points into Earth for Earth’s Embrace, make sure your heal is Ether Renewal and take Aquamancer’s Alacrity instead of Cleansing Wave for max heals uptime.
(edited by SonOfKrypton.4357)
I’d say Mesmers are the hardest to level.
For real? I found mine really easy. I was level 80 in two days.
Then again maybe I was just too “mesmerised” by all the fabulous purple butterflies. ^-^
These are some changes I would like to see made to the official Professions webpage as it is very outdated.
The page can be found at:
How does your ele feel to you now? Have you changed your look a lot?
Here is my Ele after the wardrobe patch!
Regarding how Ele feels to me now, I feel like my Ele hasn’t really changed at all. I have always been really good at Elementalist and the game in general. Pre-patch I could win all of my 1v1s so this patch has really just opened up doors for me to 1v3 or be a 1 man havoc-squad etc.
So glad to hear you’re enjoying the patch! xx
“Unfortunately there was an error with the payment provider. Please try again later. If this error still persists please contact customer care.”
I also get this message when trying to buy gems and the same as you I get the gems 20 or so minutes later.
The only scepter skills that need a change are:
-Water 2: make it do SOMETHING
-Dragon’s tooth (maybe): change how it interacts with interrupts rather than completely canceling if it hasn’t fallen yet but after the casting is done.Phoenix is one of the LAST skills they should buff, as it already:
-Does massive damage
-AOE
-Unblockable
-Removes a Condi
-Blast finisher
Don’t forget the 5 seconds of Vigor!
I agree totally that Shatterstone and Dragon’s Tooth need a bit of a change. As well as Dust Devil needs to be a guaranteed blind for at least 1 target.
The starving kids in Africa couldn’t give two kittens as to who is the better Elementalist or who popularised what. At this point this thread has devolved into people beating themselves off over who is better than who.
I’ve lurked these forums for so long and all of you have made valid and not valid arguments. Some of you are positively cringeworthy in the amount of embarrassment you post.
“Heidia – the best ele on Blackgate”
“‘That’ mag roamer! 1 of 2 incinerators done!”
Channel all this passion into something more creative and worthwhile than fighting with words in girl world. Cannot think of one situation where this argument actually has a productive outcome. The only outcome I see is this thread being closed.
