Regarding the other classes for eg Warrior could just have a troll face helm and a special ability build in like Lyssa where you can’t look at/go near them or you’re constantly CC’d.

I feel the need to comment about your use of Lightning Flash. :P

It almost seems like you’re using it because it’s off cooldown. I’m not sure if it’s because you’re not used to having it on your bar or w/e but try using Earthquake then Flash to them. Count the dodges then Churn and Flash on them. Flash + Updraft. I personally wouldn’t be using it to land Drake’s Breath. :P

I don’t find thieves counter Eles at all. They’re the one class I feel confident in killing actually. It comes back to good and bad players and their experiences I guess.

But seriously, Shimmerless and I moved here on a whim from a T2 NA server. The players on Vabbi are, for the most part, really capable. I think they’re just very deflated from being at the bottom for such a long time.

Shimmerless and I just made 1 golem and went around the borderlands seeing how much we could take before it died. Vabbi just needs more confidence, what’s the worst that can happen? A repair fee. Go for it!

Yeah, this is the absolute worst bug. It’s because they removed the stun break from it while leaving the stun break on mist form which is totally redundant because once the mist form duration is over the stun would also have worn off. No need for it to stun break.

I digress, when playing S/D you can also use updraft. Another temporary fix for this is to type /sit. Annoying I know but this probably won’t be fixed before they add a red ring to meteor shower. We lose either way.

My interpretation was that he was trying to get his guild and his server on the map, not compare himself to Team Riot.

His guild was just fortunate enough to come across one who has a lot of exposure which presented an opportunity that he would have been silly to ignore.

I can’t enter one SoloQ game without having to block at least one person on my team.

Conditions should Aid direct damage.

Stats that direct damage uses. Attack power, Precision, critical damage, toughness! (4 stats! you only get 3 on item pieces!)

Stats that condition damage uses. Condition damage. (1 stat)

To me, condition damage should be uses as conditions to inflict different passive and non passive combat effects. not be a a complete source of damage, in its current forum its way way way too op.

They should be thier to bolster deal extra damage when target is burning, while doing little ticks of extra damage.

lowering healing from heals.

Bleeding them to counter regeneration.

Confusing them so they hurt themselfs, Not making it so the person is like OH DAM! 25 STACKS OF CONFUSION, I CANT ATTACK!!!!!

Condition damage builds are just easy mode as its stands, They are destroying small scale PVP fights all cos devs are trying to balance them as a source of damage for PVE

I agree with you 100% about not having conditions be a direct source of damage.

BUT

If you’re going to say that toughness is an aspect of what “direct damage uses” (I’m assuming you mean as a way to mitigate the direct damage) the it’s only fair to say that vitality is a stat that “condition damage uses” as you have more HP for the condis to eat through.

Not that it really matters how much vitality you have with the sheer amount of conditions that can be applied via some autoattacks.

I think the main issue with conditions is that there aren’t enough cleanses to keep up with the frequency and ease that they are applied to you by condition specs.

When playing as a thief I try to mess with the other player’s mind. Nothing is more satisfying than running straight towards a Warrior, watch them pop Signet of Rage as I keep running past them. Just laughing at their persistence to kill me when I’ve done nothing to threaten them except be NEAR them.

There’s this weird misconception that in WvW every player has to kill every player. That isn’t the case at all. You don’t HAVE to kill the thief. You don’t HAVE to loot the [Large Scale] off of his/her body, let it go.

I ask, WHY do you NEED to kill the thief. If they’re spamming stealth, walk away. The main ways for them to get stealth is to Cloak and Dagger off you, or to Heartseeker through their Blinding Powder. In either case if you’re walking away and dodging Cloak and Dagger, they can’t stealth. If they’re busy Heartseekering through their Blinding Powder multiple times, you can put more distance between them and you.

It’s such a non-issue and I think it all comes down to superiority complex that is part of human nature and mixed with this pre-conditioned bloodlust to assert dominance over a complete stranger. You don’t HAVE to fight them. Don’t play their game if you don’t want to.

Walk away.

I agree that timing should be rewarded but I’ve found that in this game it isn’t that hard to interrupt abilities. I almost always interrupt something when I headshot someone. Maybe a different activation circumstance would be more skillful.

Of all the things listed here, I’m extremely surprised that Prismatic Understanding for Mesmers isn’t in this list… Seriously, it’s hella hard to DPS a tanky condi Mesmer with that trait with their passive playstyle of sitting back behind numerous aegis blocks and high regen/protection up times.

I agree that PU is really lamesauce and in a way it does play the game for the player. The traits I’ve listed are ones that do certain actions for the player in response to something an enemy has done to them.

The best example from the list I can give to help explain would be Warrior’s “Last Stand.” When they are CC’d they get instastability instead of stun breaking it for themselves. Does that make more sense? I mustn’t have been clear. Sorry!

Here is a list I’ve compiled of traits for all professions that literally play the game for you, remove some need for play/counterplay tactics, and ultimately should be removed from the game to separate the skilled from the…not-so-skilled.

No doubt I’ve missed some or added some that you might not agree with but that’s what I’m here to discuss. Additionally, if these traits were removed, do you think it would be easier to tell if a player is “good” at the game, because the class would no longer be playing itself?

(the names of some of the Engineer traits are rather amusing, it’s almost as if ArenaNet intended it to play itself)

My opinion on this matter is that if the attack from stealth is blocked, the thief should be given reveal. Because the thief attacked, hit the target, but the target blocked. Same goes for invulnerability. I don’t think they should be revealed if the target evades or the attack misses because obviously…the thief doesn’t actually hit anything,

I saw a brave adventurer in the Battlegrounds of Eternity, running into the Pass of Anzalia! His sinful ways had to be eradicated from this fair land. I followed him silently up the treacherous staircase and into the Room of which the Lord resides! I saw his two sidekicks, poised and ready to pounce. Any other cowardly master of all four elements would have flown in terror, but not the daring Attunejam. For she is the ONE true master of all elements.

As I began to churn the earth beneath me, I took a deep breath and my brow furrowed. It was time to show all of Tyria that I truely HAD been training for this day since I was in the crib. The earth exploded with an almighty blow, impaling all those who didn’t flee when they had the chance.

As the dust settled I saw two of the brave adventurers had succumbed to their injuries. I put one out of her misery and left one just breathing, in case I also buckled under the weight of my life threatening wounds. An almighty swing of the Warrior’s axe and I was through. I finished off the second brave adventurer, and regained the will to fight.

I conjured my mighty flaming sword of fire and whirled at the warrior. He also fell to his knees. Being the merciful master of elements I was, I granted his death wish with a bovine to the face. I claimed the Pass of Anzalia for myself, and watched in glee as the three brave adventurers returned to mourn their loss.

I am Attunejam, Master of Elements.

Seriously, the QQ about “body blocking” is ridiculous. Never once have I been body blocked by any minions, not in PvE where I get surrounded by 30 mobs, not PvP where 5 are there.

Considering our shortest possible cooldown Fear is 17 seconds (traited) and lasts for at maximum 3 seconds (all other fears being at least 32 second cooldowns traited and half the duration), I haven’t quite worked out the math for a perma-fear build. Care to enlighten us, or are you ready to admit you’re full of kitten?

1. There is this thing called Death Shroud. It has an ability called “Doom.”
2. There is this thing called Staff. It has an ability called “Reaper’s Mark.”
3. There is this thing called “Spectral Wall.” It fears you whenever you run into it.
4. There is this thing called “Terror.” Whenever an enemy is feared, they take damage.
5. There is this thing called “Fear of Death.” Whenever you get downed you fear an enemy.
6. There is this thing called “Master of Terror.” It increases all of your fear durations.
7. There is this thing called “Superior Rune of the Necromancer.” If you have six of them, it increases all of your fear durations.

You might not have known this but it is actually possible to chain these fear abilities, with the exception of “Fear of Death.”

So, my tender little petal blossom, what you’re gonna wanna do is:

Have all the necessary traits on. Then you’re gonna use Doom. Quickly hit Tainted Shackles. Hop out of Death Shroud. Reaper’s Mark. Then you drop a Spectral Wall. Ironically enough if you have feared them into a wall and drop Spectral Wall strategically, they will be stuck there if they have no stun breaks or stability.

So, my darling little river lily, that my love, is how you do the “math” for perma-fear! n_n
