Dailies - Need HoT and Dungeon Dailies

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sparrow.5936

Let’s not fool ourselves, it’s incredibly easy to finish 3 dailies of our choice every time we login. Since it’s already so easy, why not add some HoT dailies to the mix so we don’t have to stop what we’re doing inside the expansion to get them done? Would be nice and welcome addition. (one days example: 4 events in auric basin, Defeat the champ wyvern in verdant brink, mining/lumbering/gathering, etc.. )

Also, now that all this new content is out and that’s what people want to play, it is becoming more and more difficult to find dungeon runs for tokens/gifts completion. A simple solution would be to add a rotation of dungeon run dailies. People love their achievement points and it would help to encourage people to do old content more.

Raid builds?

Sparrow.5936

That’s more of a standard dungeon / PVE build rather than a RAID BUILD. That gear is ultra squishy too. Not sure scholar is the way to go in tough fights either.

Instead of copy and pasting the dungeon meta, how about some situational Raid builds rather than straight DPS.
IE:
-Tank Build
-Boon Removal
-Condi (Although maybe not optimal, something that can work if a group is desperate)

What are you talking about ultra squishy?? That’s what most Herald use in raid. Revenant are either full zerker or in a tank build. I don’t see any reason for a middle ground here.

The variation we see is taking Mallyx. Either because there is no chronomancer to boon rip the Blue Guardian or because you have enough quickness with your chronomancer and prefer the +10% stats from Embrace the Darkness.

Personnally, I prefer Rune of Strenght over Scholar for the first boss because most group only have 1 PS Warrior and the second group kind of rely on the Herald for might. For the second and third boss, I would prefer rune of Scholar but we don’t want to ask that of our Herald so we keep Rune of Strength for all 3 bosses.

Rev doesn’t need to be in full zerk first of all.. a mix of valkyrie, zerk, and marauder is better. I’m not saying go into soldier or anything like that. When I see rev’s in full zerk I get sick to my stomach. Not at all necessary unless you don’t want to trait invocation for some reason.

Soooo… how bout some heal/tank/condi builds now?
I’m tired of this “only one build works” meta mentality.

EscapistsAbsolution VS StaffMaster WHY???

in Thief

Sparrow.5936

Why is Escapists Absolution competing with Staff Master in the Trait lines??

If I want to play staff.. Staff Master is a pretty important trait. But when your playing staff you literally have no condition removal, except from utility skills. That’s garbage for any game mode! Escapists Absolution needs to be a minor trait OR staff master does.. they shouldn’t compete with each other.

Here’s some logic:
If I’m going to roll Daredevil as a trait line and I want to use staff, I’m either taking EA and my dps/endurance suffers or I’m forced to trait into Trickery for conditions to be removed on trick use. The latter of course pigeon holes you into tricks / withdrawal. Never fun to be forced into skills you might not like or want to use. Shadow Arts is useless for Staff and acro is underwhelming compared to Trickery. So at this point it would be more efficient for me to just grab a different weapon set altogether like S/P and not worry about it. GG?

PVE Meta and Thief: Should I bother leveling?

Sparrow.5936

I used to 3-man sell Arah paths on a thief before all the powercreep, so yes, you can do normal PvE content with thief, just need to know what you’re doing more than some other easier classes.

Is there an “easier” DPS class for PVE than Thief?

Thief has one of the biggest learning curves, so at first.. thief is actually the hardest PVE DPS class in the game. Don’t know where you got the notion, it’s the easiest?

Warrior is the easiest DPS class in the game by far.. just smash your face against the keyboard and you’re all set there.

As for thief, although not the easiest, once you get a handle on it, it can be the most fun IMO. Signet of Malice healing forces you to constantly keep DPS pressure up on enemies so you don’t die. That alone makes it a lot of fun.

There are some xtremely easy, but extremely boring builds too. Sword/Pistol for example allows you to spam pistol whip which does great damage, cleaves, and evades while doing so. But it’s boring.

I guess I dont know what you’re looking for. Do you want easy? or do you want fun? Thief has potential for both. But if you want the reward with no risk factor, head on over to the warrior forum. Lot’s of easy to drink koolaid there.

Rev staff # 4 not working occasionally

Confirmed by other players, staff #4 on revenant does not always work.
It’s supposed to remove 2 conditions, and well sometimes it decides to say “not today..”.

Other times it works fine. (side note: I’m seeing a pattern, that it’s when no enemies are around that it decides not to work most often, this can also just be a coincidence. )

Sparrow.5936

I run a Shiro/Glint build in PVE, so with the lack of condition removal this build has, it would be nice to know what little condi removal I do have actually works.

With that having been said, I notice that sometimes staff #4 which is supposed to remove 2 conditions, sometimes does not . The first few times, I thought maybe conditions were reapplying so fast, or I got interrupted or something, but after a playing longer i realize that it’s not the case.

I’m finding that it tends not to work the most when no enemies are around.

Anyone else experience this?

Staff #3 skill needs improvement

in Thief

Posted by: Sparrow.5936

Sparrow.5936

I’m liking the staff so far, but compared to all of our other weapons, ability 3 is a bit lackluster.
4 ini, remove cripple and immobilize. 1/2s evade. weak damage.

Ok.. it’s a utility skill .. fine. However although there is no mention of a cast time, the evade doesn’t take place until after you strike with staff, so there is a delay on it, which can really mess you up and becomes unreliable.

For a melee weapon , I was hoping for a little more survivability built into the weapon.
S/P can pistol whip – evade plus good damage
S/D larcenous strikes – evade plus damage (can also stealth with CnD)
D/D death blossom – evade plus condi damage (meh) – (can stealth though)
D/P shadow shot – shadowstep away and blind – (can stealth at will with bp and hs)

Against regular mobs and other players, all melee is ‘ok’ , but when fighting bosses like in fractals, not having extra evades or stealth mechanic to fall back on is not nice. If I time my dodges wrong, or if I’m overzealous with bounding leap for example, I can find myself relying on a #3 skill (with a bit of a delay) to save my butt and no stealth if I’m really in trouble.

It’s a damage weapon, I get it , but content is getting harder now, and we can’t rely just on our dodges to get through things (just wait until raids). We need better survivability on staff. Period.

Problem with trying other sub forums is you get bombarded with all the qq nubs who never even tried playing thief, but because they got backstabbed one time without seeing it, thieves are OP and then they demand we get nerfed even more.

Then that gets piggybacked by hundred of other similar nubs and it actually happens, while warrior, ele, and mes continue to get buffed, and we sit here laughing at just how unbalanced this game actually is.

Shadow Rejuvenation and Initiative

Sparrow.5936

I had posted previously about this.
Shadow rejuvenation does not give initiative when you first stealth, you literally have to wait 3 seconds just recover 1 initiative??? What the kitten?
This needs to be fixed so you at least get 1 initiative back when you first stealth. Even with that, it’s still not as good as the 2 initiative we used to get back when traited with one of our old options.

Our initiative pool is a disaster post patch. All classes have had ways to trait into cooldown reductions for weapon sets, not to mention if their skill 2 is on CD they can still use skills 3 , 4 and 5. If thief lets say uses Cloak and Dagger and misses once and has to use it again.. their initiative is gone and can no longer use skills 2 ,3 ,4 , 5. (That was just one example, relax) .

Point is, It’s ridiculous how unbalanced initiative is towards every other classes cooldowns in the game. Sorry , I started ranting there. Can we work on at least fixing Shadow Rejuvenation first to give 1 ini up front. Extremely underwhelming for a GM trait the way it is.

Thief celestial armor?

in Thief

Posted by: Sparrow.5936

Sparrow.5936

Alright, listen.. They’re not wrong that full zerk is optimal. However being full zerk takes more skill than they are leading on, and if you’re a casual gamer and decide to PUG some dungeons now and then, you’re gonna be in a world of hurt. (especially if everyone is stacking and there’s not good enough dps to back it up. )

With that having been said I would still say go full zerker (maybe throw in some valkyrie) with the armor, but since there are no trait lines to give you defensive stats anymore, you should use your trinkets to give yourself those stats. If you have or plan on having an elementalist at some point, it won’t be a waste of laurels to get ascended celestial trinkets since ascended trinkets work well with them and are account bound. You can give them back and forth to your characters.

Let’s face it, GW2 isn’t exactly balanced. With that having been said, just wondering what the census is regarding what you all think the best professions are for each category of gameplay. For example, my opinion:

(Full Disclosure:
I main a thief and a guardian, and I dabble in all the rest equally. I’m slightly biased towards certain things, ie: Engi’s crush me, and I crush Necro’s in wvw. I’ll try to look at it without bias however. )

PVE:
1) Warrior
2) Ele
3) Guardian
4) Thief/ Necro /Mesmer /Engi
5) Ranger

WVW:
1) Ele / Mesmer
2) Guardian/ Warrior
3) Engi
4) Thief / Ranger / Necro

PVP:
Actually , I’m not gonna touch this, I don’t play it enough and my opinion would be invalid.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sparrow.5936

Why is thief getting mentioned in almost all of these posts? Thief is at the bottom of the barrel post patch in pvp and wvw. They are underwhelming in all aspects of the game.

Mesmers are the problem, and their ability to stealth more than thief and attack without being revealed is just silly.

But asking to nerf stealth or give more classes ways to deal with it is not the answer either. What’s next? Should all classes get 2 ways to instantly remove a ranger pet from combat? Or prevent aegis from being applied? Do you listen to yourselves before you just blurt out posts?

If you have a problem with mesmers, go post about mesmers. Don’t try to break a mechanic that would ruin a whole other class altogether. Might as well just rename topic to “please remove thief from game” .

Initiative seems a bit lacking post patch

in Thief

Posted by: Sparrow.5936

Sparrow.5936

So I was just noticing today in dungeon play that my initiative is completely lacking compared to what it was in longer fights. I used to run the trait that gave 2 initiative back every time i stealthed. So I could constantly CnD and backstab. That was nerfed/moved to a GM trait and only returning 1 ini every 3 seconds in stealth.
Ok, not that big of a deal there, still missed.

I think it’s missing the opportunist trait that is throwing me off here. That used to restore ini sometimes when you land a critical hit. Never seemed like much at the time, but now I miss it. I wonder why it wasn’t worked into one of the other traits??

Even when I’m using trickery I still find I’m lacking ini in longer fights more than I ever was prior to patch. I’m tired of bringing Roll For Initiative instead of SR or a Signet. The extra ini from trickery doesn’t make up for the constant 2 ini i used to get back from stealthing as well as the opportunist trait.

Not sure initiative is on par with other classes cooldown’s post patch. This is what worries me most.

I know in the past it was never viable because of condi stack at 25. But now it might be worth it ? I dunno, I’ve never been good at the numbers game. Can any math wizards either confirm or deny the viability of this?

Theory Crafting: Some sort of D/D high initiative build that can dish out poison, and bleed stacks with death blossom and still do good backstabs?

I like the creativity.
So I’ll never tell you, your build isn’t viable.
I will however help you brainstorm/tweak it to max effectiveness.

My first suggestion would be to swap uncatchable for thrill of the crime and change current runes to rune of rage for more damage. This build could use some fury.
My guess is you don’t want to spend the money on scholar runes? Cause that would be even better.

Second suggestion: You lack some condi cleanse. I see you have the cure condi on swap. Maybe put Pain response in there or a purity sigil as well for certain condi heavy content. The extra 1 ini traited every 10 seconds is not going to make or break this build.

Let me know what you think.

First off thanks for the advice, the range on lightning whip was very helpful.

Second, it was in fact the celestial stats that were doing me in. Bosses and mobs were fixated on me cause I was running with too much toughness. I thought the celestial stats would help me adjust to life in the light armor and plus I’m lazy and didn’t want a different WvW set. As soon as I changed gear life got easier.
Now I’m loving D/F ferocity build.

When bosses and mobs fixate on you, ele just doesn’t have enough evasion/defense to escape when stone golem is on CD doesn’t matter how well you know the fight.

Just out of curiosity, to all you D/F folk out there: When you arrive at a fight that requires ranged kiting, do you switch weapons before the fight, or do you just throw ice bow into your skill bar instead?

Need help in PVE

Sparrow.5936

So, I’ve been giving ele a try, and I find myself struggling in most boss encounters no matter what build i choose, especially stacking encounters.

I might be missing something but all these ‘meta’ builds are very powerful BUT if the fight lasts longer then your first rotation and boss/champ/whatever decides to lock onto you, you’re dead. I don’t get it?? Unless I’m summoning elite earth elemental I find myself either dead or running away/ healing for 90% of the fight.

So my fights go as follow: I stack might/fury right away> boss locks onto me >I summon elite earth ele> go through my rotations again > elite dies >boss locks onto me again > heal > run > defensive skills > dead/running (either way no dps).

I’ve tried S/D LH (great for trash, but blinds don’t really help against champs)
I’ve tried staff and i survive the best with this, but if we’re stacking it’s lacking the defense to just stand there and take it with the crew.
I like D/F the most cause lightning whip is cool, but i can’t seem to make this reliable.

I’m using ether renewal because all these builds lack condi removal and I think you’re all crazy for taking the other heal just cause it gives you an additional blast finisher.
I do have celestial trinkets which is giving me toughness that could be the issue?
I do put 2 in arcane for vigor, and I’m good at dodging, but if it’s a boss that attacks often then it doesn’t matter.

Any help would be apprecated, not sure what I’m missing.

Thank you,

Again, Im not trying to be mean, just want to understand.

I just wanted you opinion on other toury trats in other games and if you think they also " suck the fun out of them too "

" stacking " , " Line of sight " , " active defence " are all guild wars 2 trats used at a tourament level to complete a dungeon as fast and as most efficient way. Others looking to improve and/or have a easier time doing content will copy these trats and use them as needed.

In call of duty, well.. any fps " how " or " do " you feel the same way about headshots or weapons strong enough to 1 hit kill? In fighting games, in regards to " save moves " , " fast hits " do you feel the same?

Im out of time for my lunch break ( :p haha ) but you get the idea of were im coming from. I just hope the mood doesnt come off wrong and you get the wrong immprrssion.

I just want to understand.

Sarah

I think you’re comparing apples to oranges. Actually more like apples to watermelon. What i don’t like about line of sight and stacking etc.. is that it’s taking an action based game and turning back into a stand still and press skill button game. The why people stack has nothing to do with it. I just think Anet needs to throw a wrench into some of these old boss fights.

So the title of the thread really needs to be rewritten. It’s not the stacking I’m against, it’s the boring part of being able to stack and instant win. Bosses need a counter to stacking to keep players on their toes. Something to make players scatter and rely on some skill. This is a GAME, and boss battles should be engaging. Standing still and yawning at a boss is weak. I apologize for targeting stacking as the issue. The tactic makes sense, but bosses need some kind of counter for it. Stack all you want, but at some point be prepared to scatter.

I think the real divide of the community that is for and against this argument is split between those who FARM and those who want to play a GAME. Farmers wanna farm, gamers wanna make the game more engaging. If arena net wants to make both happy, make the bosses more challenging, but up the reward so Time Vs Reward remains the same, but game becomes playable again.

Maybe add a “challenge mote” to the old dungeons like we see in the living story for more rewards but more challenging boss fights.

I’m a big PVE player. Unfortunately most players out there are in it for the speed run grind/farm fests. That sounds so much fun! I can just stack at a boss and it melts in seconds with zerker gear and dungeon is over in 5-10 minutes. How about I just go back to work at that point, because that sounds more like mindless repetition rather than a fun game.

I was recently in Twilight Arbor and had a small revelation. We were at the spider boss Malrona or whatever her name is, which happens to be a boss that is hard to stack at because of it’s overlapping AOE attack then can wipe a group. I was mesmerized about how bad all the players were in my party at fighting a boss where you couldn’t stack. I had to solo her at the end and laugh to myself while everyone was confused about how to play a game where they don’t smash their face into keyboard to win.

So I think more bosses in this game should have some sort of attack that can wipe a group or severely damage players if they are just stacked on top of each other fighting like mindless nubs. ( maybe overlapping AOE that magnifies in damage when near other players or something similar).

The meta of stacking has sucked the fun out of the game and also crippled new players abilities as well. The learning curve is low. Players can’t hold their own anymore, and can’t think for themselves.

On the plus side, it makes picking off those same players in WvW much more easygoing.

No more stacking! Let’s make this game fun again!
To all those who will reply with “you don’t have to stack, let it be the players choice”. Well first off, you will get kicked out of 90% of all parties out there if you don’t. And let’s be real, you just want things handed to you on a silver platter in easy mode.

Let’s be honest with yourselves.
RagNoRawk got it right.

You stack not because you enjoy it. Because it’s the fastest way to get your reward. Dungeons aren’t rewarding enough to not do speed clears.

So don’t pretend you’re stacking cause you like it. You do it because you want things handed to you on a silver platter, and you want that platter served to you ASAP.

I’m opposing a way that you can get fast rewards in easy mode, and you don’t like it.

The dungeons should be more rewarding, and the gameplay should be more rewarding too. Dungeons shouldn’t be a chore. If I wanted to stand still I would play an old outdated game. This game was designed to be very action oriented. Now due to poor dungeon design, players turned it into something else.

Not sure why you hate gaming and love farming/grinding. But we need to get out of that mentality. I don’t want to take away your rewards vs time spent. I want to inject some life back into dungies.

The most appealing part of stacking to me is it conducive to clearing dungeons faster. The reason why speed clearing is my only priority in dungeons is because the dungeons aren’t fun or challenging, nor are they rewarding enough to be something with truly challenging content. What I’m saying here is that stacking isn’t what made the dungeon experience poor. Poor design made the dungeon experience poor and resulted in stacking. Forcing mechanics that make stacking irrelevant won’t fix the problems with dungeons.

Despite your best efforts , you’re actually helping my cause.

You’re right. If the bosses get harder, the dungeons should be more rewarding too. Time spent vs reward should always be a priority. All good ideas to help make the game more fun.

Some Noob friendly PVE builds for you

For the first build of 3/6/2/0/3, the 3 points in trickery don’t do anything to improve survivability and the 2 points in shadow arts only net you condition removal in stealth which isn’t really an issue in PvE.

The 3 points in trickery is pretty vital to the Pistol Whip build. The 3 extra initiative plus the 2 you gain on steal will allow you to pistol whip a lot more frequently. Also the fury buff to party isn’t too shabby from thrill of the crime.

As for the feline grace, I get what you are saying about the extra dodges, but I’m a big believer in using those dual weapon skills to evade while still attacking and hanging on to your dodges for those ‘oh s***’ moments. Plus I’m also assuming there might not be condi cleansing class in the party and I think 2 in SA for cleanse is needed. But if you have a condi remover class in party, then yea, don’t waste points in SA and hop into another trait line. But that’s something you learn as you play. I didn’t want to get too deep into all the different scenarios out there.

As for the cloaked in shadows, it’s more useful than you think, it’s only about 1 sec less blinds than BP since nerf. And it’s an alternative for someone who WANTS to play D/D and doesn’t like sword. I still agree with you that you can swap that out with something more useful in a lot of situations. I think i mentioned shadow rejuv might be a better alternative or even go 3/6/5 .

Thanks for the input as well.

Oh yea, you can use S/D for the second build instead of D/D if you like the playstyle better.

Hey guys,

So we’ve all seen some pretty bad thieves out there, and they give us all a bad name or stigma making it hard for all of us to get in harder dungeons or speed runs based on prior fails.

I think one of the main reasons is people ask for builds and get the same ‘meta’ nonsense of full zerk 6/6/x/x/x for dungeons and general pve content. While I agree it makes sense to run that, it may not make sense for newer players to run it. You will die.. A LOT.

So here are two build i whipped up for newer players or players who struggle with the ladder. These will still give you great damage, while keeping you alive longer.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fZAQNAsaVl8MpwpdPx6J0PRBOBt9uLQC4qF+lF9CAA-ThSBABWqyCfHBAKVnwMlgXpMKiTAAWKdA5QAQ0+DA8AAIFggKjA-e

This is a S/P build where you will be spamming pistol whip for damage/heals/evades or black powder for group support against certain mobs. You can substitute assassins signet for smoke screen for more damage, stealing will give you 2 extra ini and grant might and fury to team. Pretty easy to run. Switch to shortbow if you need range/poison. Dagger Storm for reflects/heals.
Useful for fractals as well.

This is a D/D build. Again this build trades off top damage for more survivability. The damage trade off really isn’t that much different either. The only time it’s noticeable is when you have a party that is upkeeping 25 stacks of might since might stacking is how you get your power back up to the ‘meta’.
Again simple stuff here, you will be using Cloak n Dagger to blind mobs and give you stealth for condi removal and might stacking and set ups for backstab. Use auto attack chain and repeat. Heartseeker when enemy at 25% health.
I like to run with Infusion of shadow to keep initiative up. It helps with constant backstabs on longer boss fights and allows you to use death blossom as an evade rather then just evading without attacking.
If you need more healing try shadow rejuv instead of cloaked in shadows, or put in hide in shadows over signet of malice. Again, smoke screen can be subbed in if you need more group support. Dagger storm for reflects / heals with SoM.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Can we have inf. return back to no cast time.

So I’ve loved S/D since the beginning of this game. It was my favorite weapon set on any class. I actually stopped playing this game for 6 months when inf. strike/return was first made useless since it was my favorite skill and made me feel like nightcrawler.

I can see that it was on the OP side since it was a stun breaker. But why remove stun break AND also add a cast time (that seems longer than .5 seconds IMO)???

Don’t want it to be a stun break?.. fine, remove the cast time at least. Since this new patch S/D is becoming pretty useless across the board, how bout giving it some love it deserves.

For the record I’m talking from a PVE/WvW perspective.
Not sure why all the hate on S/D from the devs. It’s one of the hardest sets to learn and you never hear anyone saying how cheesy it is.

Thanks for pigeonholing us into S/P cheesyness in dungeons and p/d cheesyness in wvw. That’s fun.. i guess.. smh.

Before last patch I could’ve sworn my health pool was around 15,500 and then I logged in and saw i was at around 14,900, I don’t remember my health ever being below 15k , that’s what brought this whole thing on.

No, health pool didn’t even move a little. But it makes you wonder what else it’s not working with. Food/Consumables? etc..

Hi,

Not sure if it’s always been like this but I noticed Practiced Tolerance trait does not give extra vitality when Signet of Agility is equipped.

I noticed my health looked lower than usual so I tried throwing on the signet of agility to give me a small boost, and it did nothing. Is this intended or a bug?

That makes more sense. The word choice on most in game descriptions are so horrible.

P.S. privateer runes crack me up, and are strictly for LOLz. But don’t get them, because the parrot will sometimes wander off and keep you stuck in combat at bad times.

I literally run the same build 0/6/5/3/0 sometimes 0/6/6/2.

I’ve been racking my brain with this conundrum too. I’m soo tempted to spend the 70g and get the runes of strength as they would synergize the best.

I went with Ogre runes, because I hardly ever trait into DA since i hate the traits there, so power was very important to me, and the 4% damage boost is nice. not as good as 7% but better than 0%. Scholar got expensive too and that rune set is mainly for ganking people with backstab.

I was however wondering if anyone has any experience with Superior Rune of the Warrior? It has nice stats but I dont fully understand how the 6th rune power works. It says on weapon swap 20% reduction in recharge. Does that mean if i have Shadow refuge (60 sec cooldown) and use it , and while its counting down i weapon swap does it turn into 48 sec cooldown? what happens if I weapon swap again 9 seconds later, does it stack and turn into a 36 sec cooldown etc.. ??? Anyone know?

What can thief do post patch? Need help

With the 30-40% nerf to backstabs and most crit builds, where does the thief excel post patch?

I’ve always been a S/D thief ( even after inf. return became useless cause I’m stubborn.) However, since patch I’ve tried almost every build out there (my own ideas as well as what I’ve seen from other players). I’ve been messing around in WvW as a cheesy power/condi p/d d/d sb roamer, its fun for 5 seconds but lacks the fulfillment I used to get from backstabbing someone and then switching to S/D and watch them panic while dazed. The latter no longer does enough damage to be viable and I find myself getting hit like a truck from any other profession more so than in the past.

In sPvP I’ve been dueling 1v1 against a lot of different professions (good players mind you), using every build out there and I don’t think I won a single fight since patch. Sorry, not true, I won one fight against a mesmer who then one-shotted me afterwards with his downed state phantasm. (12k hit wth?) I’m not gonna pretend to be a great player, so I’m sure there is a few post patch L2P issues here, but I’m by no means a bad player either and I think I’ve always been pretty skilled with thief.

In group fights I’m fine, I can pester, annoy, distract, and pick off some weaker members of the opposition, but I can’t tell how useful I actually am cause I have my own team for support. So to go back to 1v1 scenarios, what are you guys doing to succeed? sPvP and WvW respectively.

Thanks in advance o the advice, I always felt highly about the thief regardless of what anyone else says, but lately I feel horribly underwhelmed by anything I’m doing out there.

Thanks for the information everyone, I can definitely see how they can work very well to help clear conditions. I love S/D and ever since the infiltrator return was nerfed into uselessness, this might help me get back on track with an evasive build rather than a stealth build.

Lyssa Runes question

Hey guys,

So I’ve been wanting to experiment with a Lyssa runes build and Basilisk Venom. A friend of mine has been playing with lyssa runes for a while, and he says it works well with basilisk especially if you trait into the power line and get the cooldown reduction. However, i read on the wiki that lyssa runes have a 45 second internal cooldown on the bonus when activating the elite skill. I don’t really feel like buying lyssa runes just to test this, so can someone confirm or deny this note on the wiki? 45 seconds for a condition cleanse and 5 seconds of boons doesn’t seem as worth it to me as a lot of people make it seem to be. Actually 30 seconds doesn’t even seem that worth it to me.

Why do a lot of people love it? Is there a 45 second cooldown?
