They took Garrison and eastern keep in short order. BP also harassed Magumma’s BL a bit too.

My lvl 80 ranger has absolutely no issue. Rampage as One + Barrage and then all i got to do is grab the present and pick up drops. Also a trap or 2 on the present helps alot as well. I have never had an issue with them but my toon is lvl 80 and all.

They didn’t learn how to release on time like they should have, but they learned to be as vague as possible so people can’t get “legitimately” angry at them for being late, because you can’t be late when you don’t tell anybody when you’re showing up!

Not really, since the server is (PST) time zone it is still 11:50am there on the 14th. All the patches/events are advertised as respect to the server time zone. With this said, they are still within a decent time frame to release the content. Those they think well its the 15th here and you said the 14th need to realize the advertised time is based on a different time zone. I am sure you are just venting frustration but you are not the only one that uses that as a basis of argument.

They will likely release the patch at the normal patch time which is 5pm (PST) or 8pm (EST). That is what tends to happen. It would alot better for the community to have a rough time table like between 10am-noon (PST) or something to that order to not keep people waiting in anticipation but that would make too much sense. I am betting there will be a YOUTUBE video up here within 15 mins of the patch showing the jump puzzle just because people want to be first.

All you people wanting a more difficult jumping puzzle than the clocktower need to realize that puzzles like that while fun for a small percentage of players cause those that can’t do it for whatever reason to complain. I personally farmed the clocktower with relative ease, however my friends and guildmates couldn’t. Some had tiny asuras, laggy ISPs, slow fps from a slightly out of date PC, or didn’t have that skill set. Holiday events are supposed to be fun and enjoyable to all not a select few. If you want a very difficult JP then ANET can make one that is permanent in the world so you guys/gals can test your jumping metal. Maybe even a fractalesk type JP where there are altering paths. Either way, I want a fun JP but not an overly difficult one.

Right now I am above the curve so to speak. I have 22 mystic clovers and spent only 45 ectos. So basically I am getting a clover 49% of the time. I am sure I will hit the long rut soon but I got to get more ectos first lol.

Rangers were much better in Betas, but the rapid shot/quickness combo melted most classes. The Ranger got a major damage nerf before release and has never recovered. The only issue players had in the betas was the burst damage which was countered by the guardian/mesmer classes using retaliation/reflect/feedback. Personally, I wish they would have only left it alone but right now the ranger is pigeon holed into a survival/DoT spec since pets die easily in PvP/WvW. Spirits are useless except against stationary bosses. I really hate that burning/poison don’t stack in intensity like confusion and bleeding. Also, you can’t body block in GW2 like you could in gw1 which I don’t like.

penatbater, that is very true. The ectos are fine and yes it takes alot of them but even being a casual player myself am fine with that part of it. If I wanted to I could probably get 200-250 ectos in 4-5 days of hard core running fractual lvl 2 on average I am getting 10ectos from salvaging the rares every 2 runs so that is about 50 runs at 1 hr 30 mins. Which is 75 hrs of game play.
My biggest issue is the stack of t6 mats per piece. I mean 100 would be just fine but 250 is a bit much for 1 piece in my opinion. The Legendary is just that legendary and the only thing I previously complained about was the precursor and if the prices stays around 100g I won’t complain about that either. The previous rate of inflation was increasing more than my bank funds lol. I am even okay with the infusion being another 100 t6 mats.
So basically the backpack can cost anywhere from 4.95g(Ancient Bones) to 63g(Powerful blood) in t6 mats depending on which material you need for your backpack. This doesn’t include the 50 ecto which is approx. 11.94g. So in total a backpack range is 16.9g – 74.95g. That is a very large difference for the same lvl backpack. Then you add in the cost of infusioning the item, your looking at about 130g for 1 infused backpack. Then you have even more cost to fill the infusion slot with another 100 t6 mats. I can see why people are complaining.

ALL the jumping puzzles are easy Asagi. Noone is forcing you to do them.
As for the Ice Elemental and Dredge Power Suit, that part was truely annoying the first go thru much like the stairway on the Asura map. My group quickly realized that how to deal with them. Personally, I find the Ice Ele more annoying than the Powersuit only because of the Adds and frozen slow. 2 shortbow rangers (let pets die off start) + QZ and you have it dead in 2-3 cycles if that. Also, if your lacking comms you can always have a ranger if he is the puller drop a spike or frost trap on the location and when the conditions pop up just pull then.
The hammer is pretty simple as there is a whole you can sit in between the flame circles.
The tree one is more difficult without a mesmer but like others have stated you can jump over the walls. Which is probably an unintended exploit but anyways.
Most annoying one for me so far is the underwater one and even that isn’t difficult. I personally love the attack on ascalon one.

Well the ectos are not that bad to get. With 2 runs you can basically guarentee yourself to getting 10 ectos and about 2g worth of blue/green/crafting mats. I know I have gained about 10g worth of items and at least 50 ecto from rares in just 7 runs (4 lvl 1, 3 lvl 2) So you can get a full item in a week if you do it continuously for a 3-4 hrs and have a competent group. My friends and I are just trying to get everyone up to our lvl so we can progress together. The t6 mats are the real issue as a stack of some of the more rare ones will take longer than a week to get and if your after the berserker one that needs powerful blood (26s each) you are pretty screwed. That is about 65g worth for the back and another 26g for the infusion. Only the hard core player or market trader would be able to get that kind of gold easily.

Rangers have no spike build unlike other classes. Even all berserker gear hits for no more than 2-3k a hit on a crit. Pets die too easily in group events so you instantly take a 30-35% dmg reduction. I would like a function to stow pet permanently and gain a bonus = to % of pets stats. Either limit the burst dmg from other classes or scale up the burst dmg of the ranger. Ranger has some nice survivability but a severe lack dmg. My lvl 15 warrior hits lvl17 diessa mobs for 1/4 the dmg my lvl 80 ranger hits orr mobs it is quite humorous. All with lvl 8 weapons and mismatch fine lvl gear.

One of my guildies says you can get lodestones by salvaging greens and up, and says he used this method to farm and buy commander. Since I’ve got a decent backlog of gold, I decided to test this and bought 50 l80 greens off of the TP, and used master salvage kits on them. I didn’t get a single lodestone. But I still don’t know whether or not this is true or whether he was trolling
The chance could be a lot lower than 2% chance with master salvage kit. If you want to test this further, apparently its green items and master salvage kits. Use Mystic if you want to save yourself money.
I can say I have never gotten a lodestone from salvaging for sure but you can get them rarely from heavy miner’s bags (Destroyer Lodestone) and probably any high teir bag (Heavy Moldy Bag). Now that I think about it, the hides/skins/valuable metal may have a chance to drop them.

eh? I’ve salvaged thousands (got a number of pings on agent of entropy already) of white stuff and I’ve never gotten a t6 mat from them ever. I use the 88c one though.
t6 mats (crafting mats only) can be salvaged from lvl 75-80 white/blue/green/yellow/orange equipment with a basic salvage kit. The rarer material clause is 1 tier higher than the tier of the equipment.
So for example:
Chainmail Helm lvl 80 (white)
You can get either 1-3 Mithril ore(normal) or 1-2 orichalcum ore(rarer)
The salvage kit used increases the chances of getting a higher tier material. So if you want to use basic salvage kit you get a 10% chance to get the higher tier material or use a master salvage kit for a 25% chance. BLT kits are supposed to have a 50% chance.
As for ectos, It is my belief and after salvaging many many rares and exotics (this was stupid) It appears that ecto is not considered a rarer material. It appears that once you get rarity of the item to the rare/exotic range the salvage table expands to include ecto but at a set rate that isn’t affected by the master or BLT kits. I cannot comment on the other salvage kits as I haven’t attemted to get ecto from rares without a master kit or higher. I can say I have gotten 12 consecutive ecto drops with a master and got 2 of 5 with the BLT just last night. I don’t believe the % affects ecto drop at all.

I would love to a slightly higher drop rate of lodestones but at the current rates you CAN farm them. I personally farmed 2 charged lodestones in 1.5hrs. That was some of the most boring farming I have ever done mind you and i had only about 130% MF gear on. 1 per run would be nice and can pretty much guarentee the vast majority would never attempt to run a single dungeon 250+ times for 1 weapon skin. However, that would make dungeons a farm spot more than they already are. What stops a group of 5 running the dungeon explorable (CoF/CM) in 15-20mins and in 50 runs they can make weapons that could sell for 150-400g.

Most of the people finding recipes likely have their main on a class than can wield a GS. This makes those much more popular. Daggers also aren’t very big and the grind to get them is diminished because you may not be able to actually see the skin which is a big turnoff.
Try buying a 1 molten lodestone if you don’t already have one and throw that and an eldrich scroll, 1 mystic coin, and 1 orichalcum dagger blade in the mystic forge and see if there is a valid recipe. It will fill in the amount needed if all 4 materials match a recipe. I am willing to bet that is one with a flaming dagger skin like firebringer. Also would try a charged lodestone as well. The gifts are a bit harder to make for testing. Good luck.

given the amount of complains from people that dont have legendaries and crying about the RNG sytem, I think Anet will eventually cave in and start to offer “welfare legendaries,” like guarantee you will receive just by doing x, y and z.
So long as X,y and z are more legendary than spending 400 or more hours grinding gold and involve more than just farming endless plinx than I am ok with that. You know, if they involved the achievement system more, or completing all event chains in Orr, or finishing all exploreables, jumping puzzles etc than yes, that would be a much more legendary method of obtaining legendaries than just grinding a legendary amount of time or having legendary luck in the mystic forge.
Its not welfare if you have to complete skill based objectives and social activities to get and participate in game events. It is welfare if all I need to do is buy X amount of gold to get it.
No. It is welfare if Joe Doe can do it. ANet stated Legendaries should exist in 5% of the population or less. If they make such a challenge with in a skill-based manner (altghough I seriously doubt they could pull something like) to correspond to such low population percentage I am all for it.
They did this in GW1 with the Vabbian armor and Obsidian armor. The amount of hours it took to farm all of those Shards and ecto was a pain and it still took skill to survive or learn how to pull and solo mobs. As for the legendary weapon requirements, I don’t think the current process is too awful bad. I mean they made legendary weapons an END game item in which you have to literally master the game to create. Badges from WvW, T6 mats from PvE, DEs (Karma), Dungeon tokens, gold farming (Icy Runestones), Skill points, and Luck. The only part that people EVER complain about is the luck part when it pertains to the precursor weapons. Which I personally hate only because the insanely low drop rate from chest and MF. The vast majority of the community want even attempt to make a legendary do to everything involved to make one. Quite frankly I am surprised some gift hasn’t been included for Spvp in the manor of Glory like Karma. The present equation leans too heavily on luck as you have mystic clovers and the dreaded MF abyss for precursors. No, I don’t own a legendary but I am slowly gathering the materials for one though. Maybe by then Anet will make the precursors have a finite recipe or a higher proc rate.
As for the OPs original post, I would believe they would add in Racial Legendaries further down the road such as Calaboug for Slyvari GS. I would think they will add quite a few legendary weapons over the next few years. Most likely the adds will be combination weapons much like Eternity.

Southern Lord, from the sound of it your biggest problem is mobility. Unlike in traditional MMOs you can’t just stand there and take the damage. You have to be mobile or fluid in your movement and skill usage. This gets easier with experience and trying out different play styles. At lower lvls it is sometimes harder to take on 3-4 mobs at the same time than in later stages of the PvE experience. For a Warrior specifically the hammer is probably one of the more difficult weapons to use properly. Try using axe shield or mace shield to help if you having trouble getting used to mobility. Greatsword is pretty easy to use as long as you learn how to use the animations such as whirlwind can be used to dmg a group while escaping or as an intro. The more time your not getting hit is the more time your heal skill is recharging. Mobility is a very big part of this game in PvE, PvP, and WvWvW. Good luck.

No, the best way to fix it is to stop it happening. It was not an intended feature (otherwise they would have made waypointing to LA free)
Apparently, it was an intended feature or they would have charged to go to the heart of the mists. See how it works both ways. This is no different from magically travelling to any of the WvWvW zones/waypoints or to the PvP area. The money sink argument is stupid because if a player saves 3-4s per waypoint and ends up with an extra 1g at the end of the day then guess what chances are that will go into the MF abyss like alot of the world economy does now and the 15% trading post funds and so on. There are money sinks already in the economy and 1 more isn’t needed. I would love to save the generally 1g a day of travel expenses, but I like doing the jumping puzzles/DE/dungeons with my friends all over the map. That 3-4s don’t kill me but it does add up and hurts my ability to buy stuff I want and need. Oh and while we are on the subject, how come a lvl 1 can travel to a way point for 10c and a lvl 80 travel for 4s? All characters are the same so there should be a set fee for travel then.

lehova, I have to disagree. The ability to craft some runes is better than all runes. If you could craft all the best runes (Divinity) then other runes would be almost worthless (rune of pirate vs rune of traveler). Also, you can already get an upgraded rune with 4 runes of the same type now expect it isn’t guarenteed it has a 15-20% chance.

yea the invisibility fountains are nice but they don’t last long enough for those just trying it out to finish. I have finished the puzzle at best 9.5 mins with speed boosts. I also know the puzzle rather well. Guess you got to die by trial by fire in EB.
I like the fact of jumping puzzles in the PvP area, but the siege equipment definitely needs to go. There are already flame and spike traps to grief people without the constant cripple or combat slow or knock down from getting hit by siege from an area you can’t get to. Some classes are better than others like the mesmer and necro at pulling people down but if you are a class without a pull then you have no way of combating some of the EVIL tactics the griefers have cooked up. (fear trap on end of the dark room is my personal favorite 2nd only to the arrow cart on the chandoller.)

ArcTheFallen is right. You can’t hit a ceiling on skill points. Every 254k xp after lvl 80 grants you another skill point. You will need 200 skill points for the bloodstone shard and likely at the very least another 100 skill points for the 77 mystic clovers (143 on avg.) Legendary weapons require ALOT more than the previous 100 skill points from beta (I wish it was that easy).
You can also use 50 for eldrich scrolls which are used for some of the named exotics.

Well your options are pretty slim but to be honest if your buddy is saying it will take 3 months to get 10 points he is lying or doesn’t know how to get points. 3 points for linking accounts, 3 points for 5 titles, 2 point for any statue. That is 8 of 10 right there. 1 point for getting a pet to lvl 20, 1 point for each hero statue (easy). You could get this within a week or two if you have a group of friends that are half decent that could run you through the content (3-4hrs a day). You would need both tyria and the eye of the north expansion though. Really it should be quicker but that as a loose estimate.

The chest resets every run. After the first time through, you get 8-10 ToT bags at the end and I find ever other run the 1st chest resets which gives you 6-9 ToT bags. So in 2 runs you could get up to 29 bags. Good luck

I have BEAT this stupid puzzle so many times it isn’t funny. At least 60 times so far and I am sure it will be over 100 after today. It isn’t that difficult. If you can’t see because of a Norn or Charr then use your camera to judge distance(zoom it out all the way).

i agree with Fubuki here. Your taking this whole thing way to far. Server pride is one thing but seriously how many threads have you made about this same thing? The only time you gain any significant points is when you guys are capping against no resistance for 6 hrs or more. Over the last 3 days your averaging around 20k points gained during that time period. You do realize that, right?
.If you have almost no defense for over 6h, you deserve to lose and they deserve to win.
That is one of the reasons why these 3 servers are in the bottom tier. Now Kaineng will likely move up to the next tier purely because of the off primetime pwnage and the influx of WvW players during primetime. It doesn’t take skill to take down a tower or a keep when it is you against the door. They now have a better WvW server than DR and FC due to those additions. Mostly the primetime added players (either transfer or home grown) as that allows them to mitigate the damage during primetime and have a decisive advantage outside of primetime. Never said it was wrong but it is what it is.

lcc since your playing on NA servers there is a preconceived time period in which battles should be played according to the public. Granted there are no Asian servers so by default other time zones would have to play during the “off time”. This is just fine, the problem people have is that servers that have the opportunity to have “off peak” players have a decisive advantage over those that don’t. ALL NA servers (can’t speak for EU servers) have majority of their population for WvW on at the same time meaning that since there is generally good resistance to 1 side of the 3 ring circus taking control over everything. No one has said, that EU and Asian players are 2nd class citizens and they shouldn’t be. Everyone deserves to be able to play where ever they wish. With that said, until every server has or can find some symbolance of an “off time” presence there will be people complaining because in all honesty it isn’t. Yes, every server can have a presence during the Asian/Australian/European primetime, but not ever NA server does. They are complaining about the imbalance of this. With ANET’s stance being what it is then you should just get used to the complaining because it will only get worse from here until either something is done about it or those players getting tired of it and stops playing WvWvW do to their opinion of an unfair fight, which would make WvW even less enjoyable.
So no it is not a double standard as NA guilds/players don’t go and cap everything while you sleep against virtually no competition. Double standard is if they capped everything and still complained about it. Honestly, there isn’t much ANET can do about it unless they have a point structure that varies on WvW populations. That would be about the only way to mitigate the dmg that low pop servers have to deal with the night capping and even that penalizes those in other time zones. :/

Yes, I know it isn’t over yet, but at 15min increments and 4k+ point defict (can’t see deficit at moment). That would require us to keep at least a 145 point lead for the next 7 hrs and it is starting to enter prime time for all 3 servers. It is still possible but not propable.

OMG you have got to be kidding me. Rangers are probably the weakest class in WvW. They have zero damage spikes. If you want to accuse a class of being OP then you couldn’t have chose a worse profession to make that claim on. You can make a case for the ZOMG dmg from a thief that then stealths away. Eles have a ton of AOEs, warriors can kill some classes in 1 shot with their burst skill, Mesmers can have sooo many clones and the ability to portal an army. Engineers are actually about right, and guardians have that blue bubble. I know nothing about the necro so no comment there. All that and you chose to complain about Barrage…… a skill that does at best 800dmg critting that is also one of the few dmg skills a ranger has and it is 35s recharge. The only thing barrage has is the ability to hit more than 5 people unless that got nerfed recently. Even worse is the fact you thought arrow carts were rangers using barrage….. Have you even created a ranger to learn the skill set?

you can get loot that ranges from lvl 1 to lvl 80 in the 1-15 zones. I have gotten a lvl 79 rare staff before from killing the harpies near the AC dungeon. It is rather rare to get of lvl items but it does happen. Also, you don’t get full karma in lower lvl areas like say the plains of ashford. You get something like 254 per event and 1.2s instead of 386 karma and 1.86s.
OP if they did that then everyone would farm the 1-15 areas with their lvl 80s. You know how easy it is to do events in those zones at lvl 80? My rangers barrage can kill the harpie mobs in 3-4 hits before I even get struck. I have literally finished an event in 30-40secs by myself. There is a reason you don’t get full credit. The devs just need to add a few more 80 zones. 1 lvl 80 zone is not ideal for a server full of lvl 80s.

Group 1: Ele, Ranger, Thief, Guardian(in a guild), warrior
Group 2: 3 Rangers
Group 3: 3 Guardians
They are using speed boosts as well as running in a predetermined path. Also, the captcha thing is really really annoying and doesn’t work. I have played multiple MMORPGs that had that system and it didn’t affect the bots at all and kicking a bot doesn’t work either because all you need is the auto-play/sign in thing checked and a delay routine before the cycle begins again. They literally have to be ip/mac banned and even that don’t work 100% of the time. I do agree that this is becoming an epidemic now and needs drastically to be addressed and swiftly.
