So you three may fit well in our guild the Ebon Banner. We’re a PvX guild based on Tarnished Coast, and we’re fully upgraded. We do a bit of everything, but our main focus is doing whatever game mode we’re playing in well, and teaching people how to do it well. We do speedclears of most dungeons fairly regularly, as well as Fractals of all levels with about 10 of us doing lvl 50 Fractals as well, and we’re trying to lvl those who want to get to 50. We do a good bit of PvP with some of our members having that as their main focus, and a bunch of our core group were in the top 250 on the leaderboards before this season, and I’m even thinking of running workshops on PvP dependent on interests. We do WvW from time to time, usually as small roaming groups since that’s what most of us find fun. We do weekly guild missions, and we have Teamspeak server that many of us are usually on and love when people come on to chat.

This is a terrible decision. In every way possible. Team compositions for Stronghold versus Conquest will likely need to be very different, such as having two thieves on a team, one an assassin type build, one a permastealth, may be a boon in Stronghold, but terrible in Conquest. We can’t change classes because of the way the matchmaking works, so we’ll be stuck in a comp that doesn’t make sense for both modes. Honestly they need different ques, even if it increases the que times, it’ll be more rewarding gameplay in separate ques.

Glad to hear that you’ve come back to the game! Our guild, the Ebon Banner, may be a good fit for you and what you are looking for. We are a PvX guild, and our main focus is teaching people to be as good as they can be in a given game mode, mainly in PvE and PvP. We run dungeons and Fractals almost everyday, and try to do them as efficiently as possible, but we really want to teach our guild members how to do it too. As an example, we are trying to get efficient runs of Aetherblade path going and get it to farm status, since we enjoy doing the more difficult content in the game. What we really look for in people is a willingness to learn, and a desire to be good at whatever they are doing in the game. There are a bunch of us that are very much into PvP as well, though some of us are a bit out of practice, like myself, as we took a break from the game and haven’t polished our skills yet.

We are also an inclusive group and don’t allow any sort of hate, as we want a welcoming environment to anyone. Our leadership comes from a diverse backgrounds, and so we really value that in our members We also really like it when people come on Teamspeak so we can put a voice to the name and those in the guild are more than just that name, though we don’t require it. Right now we have about a 100 members with 12 to 20 active at any given time.

We’re reopening our doors so to speak, many of the guild went inactive over the last year and are starting to return with the announcement of the expansion and the remainder have been representing alternate guilds but all want to come back home as we get some new members in.
The guild is fully upgraded and we have our own teamspeak server, we’d love people to join who want to come on and chat so we can get to know you, but it’s not a requirement of joining. Our roster is small, especially at the moment as we recruit and bring back people, and we’re not aiming to be a 500 cap guild – this is a small group of friends who want to find other like-minded people to play with. You won’t be an unknown number lost in a large roster, everyone is friendly and open to doing almost anything. There’s no rep policy, but we are looking who want to join and stay with us.
Of the core group we have at the moment;
we’re highly experienced with instanced PvE (dungeons and fractals > level 50). With daily TA Aether, Arah, and FotM 38/49s.
have a small team of PvP players (rank ranging > top 100),
experienced WvW players, primary focus being roaming/havoc parties (we tend not to follow a mindless zerg and look more for fun small-scale fights),
most have at least one level 80 of each profession, though we all specialize in two and are willing to provide advice,
have several experienced traders who are willing to share advice on gold making methods other than dungeon running or farming – if shinies are your goal we’ll discuss with and help you obtain them!
We all play daily ranging from GMT/PST/EST timezones. Our main aim would be to recruit people who are looking to be better players and have fun whilst doing it. You and your finace might fit well with our guild the Ebon Banner based on Tarnished Coast. We have about 100 people on the roster right now with 12 to 20 online at any given time. Our main focus is playing this game as well as we can, and teaching our members how to do it. Our core group is very experienced in PvE, regularly doing speedruns of all the usual dungeons, trying to get our time on Aetherpath in TA down to speedrun levels, and doing level 50 fractals. We also have a good number of us that enjoy PvP, and bounce between PvE and PvP when we need a break from one or the other. We run guild missions regularly, and the guild is fully upgraded.

What we ask of our members is to just be respectful and mature. We want to be able joke around and have fun, as long as it isn’t directed maliciously at anyone. We have a Teamspeak, and love when people come onto chat since we like having a voice to go along with the names, and many of us are on there regularly.

Hey Spud,

So first off, totally appreciate the sentiment of the post. Our community is one that’s a group of friends, and we’re trying to make new ones now. We’re a bunch of players who like to have fun and be good at the game. What sort of fun you may ask? Joking around, laughing, talking to each other, those are the things that we do when playing the game.
We talk in guild chat, we talk in Teamspeak even more, enjoying what we’re doing because we’re working as a team. We hate when people are just a name, we want people to be real, as some of our best friends in game have come from randomly recruiting that person. We like to be helpful, not in the sense that we’re always running off to do something, but we want to teach people how to do things. Stuff like where to stack, strategies in PvP, what sort of gear you should get, some fun secret stuff to go look for. That’s what we like to be, and what we strive to be.
We define maturity in a broad way as how you respect others. We may rib each other, but we always do it out of friendship. And you know don’t go off on racist, homophobic, or what not rants.

Our guild, the Ebon Banner, might fit you well! We’re based on Tarnished Coast, but with megaservers that’s not a big deal! We are a mainly PvE and PvP guild, and we are mainly concerned with being a good community and doing whatever game mode we are in as good as we can.

We have a Teamspeak server, and a bunch of us are on there whenever we are in game (and sometimes when we’re not) and love when people come on, since we like putting a voice with a name and being able to chat.

We currently have a core group of around 25 and a roster of about 100. We have a fully upgraded guild and don’t require people to attend anything, we just like people to be pleasant and part of the community. We also want to teach people how to speedrun for those that want to learn, as several of us are very into doing dungeons that way.

Hi there!

I’m a veteran player looking for a new home. I’ve been playing since just after launch and have just come back from a six month break due to grad school. I’ve done a bit of everything, and currently my passion lies in PvP. I formerly ran a small guild called the Ebon Banner [Ebon] on Tarnished Coast, but that sadly fell through during my absence. I’m an avid PvPer, and have run workshops for new PvP players in the past, was rank 61 before the boost to rank 80, and before leaving was usually in the top 200 on the leaderboards.

What I’m looking for is a friendly talkative guild to join and hopefully make new friends in. I like using voice chat, both for organized dungeon runs and PvP or just for chatting. If anyone who is interested in helping me find a new home needs to know more or has any questions, just let me know!

Thank you for the support John! Sephiroth, I’m hoping to upload it yes, but there’s a lot of moving parts that have to fall in place, like we need to figure out how to get our teamspeak audio onto the stream and whatnot. However, if this one doesn’t get streamed and uploaded to Youtube, I’m going to research how to get the next one I run up there!

Yes this happened 2 days ago, so it was after the feature patch but in between hotfixes.

Justin, there is the “issue” of our custom arenas having two instances sometimes, and it seems like a bug. Such as I’ve been skirmishing with my guild at times in my own arena and I’ve left to switch characters. When I come back in I’m on a totally different map then my guildies, such as when this happened a few days ago they were playing on Forest of Nifhel and I loaded into Battle of Khylo. The room was not full, and even when I left the room and attempted to “Join friend in PvP” it sent me right back to Khylo rather than Forest where everyone else was playing.

Aye, I’m hoping that there will be more, and we can hit other more advanced topics as well. Also @Nabbo oh Tont you silly rabbit.

There is a 2 tier limit per day via Hotjoin matches, which is what you go into when you press the “Play Now” button. This counts for player owned servers as well. Solo and team que give infinite progression. I totally had the same issue a few days ago, so I know how ti feels.

If so, then The Ebon Banner’s Introduction PvP Workshop on Saturday, April 26th at 2 PM EST, 7 PM GMT, on NA servers this is the place for you.

My name is Sulecen, leader of the guild The Ebon Banner, with two thousand tournament games under my belt. I want to help all those that are now entering PvP to find their feet and become the next generation of PvPers. This will be an introduction to the basic mechanics of PvP, such as individual map mechanics, basic tactics like rotations and roles, and a mock scrimmage to help teach these ideas. All classes are welcome, a PvP build is not vital, but suggested, and if there is time we can help people with builds. The workshop will be held in Ebon’s private PvP server, The Midnight Wars [Ebon]. Note there will be no progression (no advancement of rank or reward tracks) in the room, due to the nature of the event. Also this will be a safe place for anyone new to the sPvP game mode, and no smack talk or insults will be tolerated.

The workshop, at Saturday, April 26th at 2 PM EST, 7 PM GMT on NA servers, will have 10 slots if you want to be in the scrimmage, and 5 to 7 more for people who would like to listen and watch. If you would like to join, either join us in our PvP room The Midnight Wars [Ebon], or whisper me in game on my main Hadrian Zurn. We will also have a twenty-five person Teamspeak available for those who like to chat or listen as well.

Is this per day?

Just tested in Solo Que, and it did in fact progress for a loss, and I got my next set of chests. I may be mistaken about last night’s tourney not giving progression.

Josh, this happened in a tourney game last night as well, and has been happening in hotjoins ever since. I believe the last time I got any reward progression, was when I went into a match half way, and got a sliver of progress due to coming in late. I am still getting both rank points and silver for every win or loss.

Same here, stuck on the Balthazar track at 26%. I think it may have been the patch last night?

How do you report cheaters who break the gates in Foefire or the treb in Khylo? This happened with the same team twice in a row in tPvP. We reported them for botting, but I also made sure to grab all their account names. Thank you!

So our guild Ebon Banner, isn’t specifically for fractals, it’s more of a PvX guild, but we do have a decent number of people in the higher levels. I believe we have about 4 in the 40s and something like 5 in the 30s and then a ton of people in the 20s. We are actually on Tarnished Coast, and we have a Teamspeak server. I myself am only at 30 or so, ankitten ot extremely well versed in the tactics, but we do have a couple of very serious members that know there stuff really well. I feel as if much of the hate that the map is garnering, is partially because people tunnel vision on objectives. I’ve played the map quite a bit as my Engi, who has been running a mod of Teldo’s build for quite some time, so yes I have lots of CC. People continually engage me on the point or on ground level, and I simply pull them or push them to their deaths. However, the map has the mechanics to get around me, no one uses it though, meaning the high ground. I haven’t seen a single person take advantage of the high ground on the side points yet, and that is the safest spot to be against knocbacks. These CC builds rely mostly on AOEs on a point, such as bomb kit. If someone, say a necro or ranger is pounding me from up on the ledges, then I cannot do a thing to them, other then hope to pull them down, which once again can be avoided. Yes this is harder then other maps, but the mechanics are there people just need to learn how to use them.

On another note, I do feel the cannon is a tidge bit too powerful. The treb in Khylo is extremely useful, however it can be dodged, so it’s not all powerful, just another tool on the map. I feel like that is how the cannon should be, rather than an objective in of itself as it is now. If you were able to dodge the cannon, it would make the map feel a lot more balanced, since it’s not a complete game changer.

In a 5v5 map if you control the cannon, and your a class with CC then you’ll own it the whole game unless the whole enemy team attacks and loses all their points while they do it. That’s just not encouraging good teamplay. However, with some tweaks it would be a far more balanced mechanic.

PS I bloody love this map, simply because it makes me feel like I’m in a James Bond Movie with a male GLaDOS narrating.

We’re a guild of centered on creating a casual and mature community that we all want to be a part of. We do a bit of everything, WvW, PvP (I personally have been doing a ton lately,) a good bit of dungeons, and Guild Bounties and Rushes every week. We have about a 100 members at the moment, with anywhere from 10 to 25 people on at any given time, and it’s a good group of people. We do weekly guild mission, and try to do a few other events each month as a big group. We have about 90 members right now, and we do a bit of everything, lots of PvE, some WvW, and some PvP. We have weekly guild missions that we run (large group events that guilds can start with nice rewards), and we try to do events throughout the month, such as guild dueling nights, running around and gathering waypoints and so on.

First off welcome to Tyria! Secondly, our guild Ebon Banner may be a good fit for you. We’re a group of about 90 people right now, and our main focus is creating a mature community that we all want to be a part of and one in which we can help each other. We do a bit of everything, lots of PvE content, some WvW, and a bit of PvP. We also do weekly guild missions (big group events that guilds can make happen,) and we do various guild events each month, such as running around the world getting waypoints, or doing PvE content as a large group.

We have a number of people with low level alts that are leveling them, as well as a bunch on their first toon. We have a bunch of players on the East Coast, myself included, but we have people on at almost all times of the day, since we have people from as far flung as New Zealand and South Africa, and a bunch of people in the UK. We have a Teamspeak which many of us are often on, as well as a website.

We’re a PvX guild of about 90 people that does a bit of everything, however our main focus is making a real community of players that want to play together and help each other out.
