Sure, but that’d mean a feature from HoT would have to be cut in order to make up the lost development time. Is that something you could live with?

Yes. ._.

Well then, so much for this awesome feature: Bill The Troll Minipet. Such a shame

We Heal as One Feedback [merged]

in Ranger

Zenith.7301

Can we just make Fortifying Bond baseline already? This is just dumb. Why should I sacrifice my heal to share boons with my pet because of the 5 target boon limit cap.

The pet is a direct percentage of my damage deducted from all ranger power weapons, it should scale with all my stats if our weapons are going to have lesser coefficients for it.

Isn’t it lovely how you’ve got time to hotfix a gimmick pvp build but god forbid you actually fix the godkitten ed 1h sword autoattack locking out dodges or buff our miserable weaponskill coefficients for that matter.

While we’re on the topic of ranger grivances, why is Serpent Strike on a 15 second cd? It’s a 1/2 second evade that does a tiny fraction of the damage of unrelenting assault, pistol whip, or even blurred frenzy.

Why is Monarch’s leap a dodge with a cast time? It makes the dodge useless in pretty much most circumstances as most boss attacks are quicker than the cast time itself.

Why is Call of the Wild a 30 sec cd skill? 3 stacks of might and 15 secs of fury, an ele with persisting flames does an eruption>lava font and suddenly the group is sitting at the same amount of might stckas, with capped might from other people’s blasts, with permanent fury due to persisting flames.

Then this horrendous 3 might cap on we heal as one. Meanwhile Phalanx Strength caps might for FIVE PEOPLE with a single press of 100 blades, elementalist gives permanent fury with persisting flames and a permanent fire field with lava font.

But, nope, a gimmick pvp build using we heal as one selfishly, which didn’t even grant boons to allies, was the problem.

Good to know your priorities. Meanwhile nobody wants a ranger in PvE still, all our weapon autoattacks and skills besides longbow do pitiful damage, especially the axe autoattack, and our traitlines are still a mess, with incredibly garbage traits like Strider’s Defense, Most Dangerous Game (3 seconds of 5 might at 50% health lol, seriously what a stinker of a grandmaster) and nature’s vengeance (wow, 3 stacks of might from a spirit, totally worth a grandmaster slot compared to phalanx strength or persisting flames).

And it’s pretty clear you guys also have no intention of fixing pet survivability against the aoe/cleave spam in PvE, forcing us to stow away jaguars in favor of drakes/bears that do autoattacks which hit less than a 1-2 stack tick of burning damage.

Melee pets outside drakes still don’t cleave. Our pets do not benefit from rune or sigil bonuses, no food or potion bonuses, no ascended gear upgrade bonuses, the pets cannot reach the same ferocity levels the player can, only up to 70% bonus crit damage while the player is looking at 110%+.

And now you’ve turned our elite specialization into a one dimensional heal bot with no offensive options and traits that are only based on healing (and celestial form tied to healing over damage, making sure no druid not wielding a staff can make use of the traitlines and celestial form anywhere close to as well as a staff healbot druid).

Conversation between FGS and IB

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: stambogalizi.8356

stambogalizi.8356

[FGS]: How long has it been, boy?

[IB]: 1 year and 20 days exactly

[FGS]: Nothing is ever built to last. I still remember that fateful day. They placed me against the wall, beat me senseless, forced me to confess to a crime I never commited, then destroyed my one and only precious gift I got from my grandfather, my Fiery Rush. They didn’t stop there, though. They forced me to use it against the wall. Over and over again. They just watched as I kept trying to kill a sparkfly that was just too strong for me.

[IB]:Dad, please. You told me this before. You were even talking in your sleep. I should have listened. Every night I kept telling myself that it won’t happen to me. Every night I kept ignoring the warnings. The little bump on my Frost Fan should have been a clear message. They were going to do the same thing to me as they did to you.

FGS got up from his chair and walked around the police station. He glanced at his son. As he stood there, he remembered himself sitting in that exact same chair just over 1 year ago. It had been 3 days since his arrest. Maybe it was his own fault, he thought to himself. Maybe he should have tried harder to protect his son. But he failed. His son was going to be trialed just like him, for a crime he did not commit.

2 Years have passed ever since people found Variety laying dead in the Trader’s Forum. The case is still opened. It seems like even after condemning FGS, the Meta Police was still not satisfied. They just hungered for more and more influence. And they could never be stopped.

IB picked up the latest number of The Dungeoneer and read some of the headlines. “Icebow arrested this weekend when attempting to smuggle illegal DPS over the FOTM border” “Is this the end of the meta?”. The text was taunting him. He opened it at a random page. The title of the article was “The meta is changing at an alarming rate”. It was an interview with Nike. “This is more of a disaster for the people who loved him, like thieves, than it is for him”. IB closed the magazine and started crying.

All this time, a suspicious figure had been watching them from the window. He was wearing an empowering aura, and had a rather odd Phalanxey look to him. He grabbed his banners and swiftly ran away when a police officer opened the window, leaving behind only a note that said “lv 50 zerk meta guard thief 2 engi GEARCHECK mossman rdy”

[Feedback] BWE2 Druid Impressions

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: jcbroe.4329

jcbroe.4329

Impressions:

Mechanic
I am aware that this is a beta, but is the mechanic even finished and will it be ready for launch by October 23rd? The cast times on the pet mechanic are much too long to justify some (most) of the skill effects. Also, the pathing and general responsiveness is horrendous. The mechanic seems almost like starter area AI (in the base game) was tacked on to a class at the last second and then changed to an ally at the very last second.
Hopefully though, because this was just a beta, either this is just a temporary mechanic, or there will be a ton of changes and iterations to the AI and skill responsiveness and effects of the mechanic.

Traits:
Quite a few of these traits are served the injustice of being tied to these unfinished feeling utilities (more on that later). Additionally, certain traits, like giving a random chance to destroy projectiles to sword or making axe’s chill AoE, are incredibly basic, beta level traits that need some serious up-tuning in order to ever justify their slots. Also, there seems to be a whole ton of damage modifiers missing, especially when compared to every other class, and the class itself doesn’t exactly stack boons on itself or anything either. That is definitely something that needs to be looked at before the live version of the game.

Utilities:
So, there are Survival utilities, Signets, maybe a spirit or two for exclusively PvE, and then just garbage utilities, pure garbage. Traps will never make ranger compete against something like engineer who just facerolls out the same sort of conditions at a higher rate and intensity than ranger can ever hope to, and Dhuumfire Reaper is a nightmare of a condition spec, along with mesmer and really anything else with heavy condition oriented combat. Spirits are immobile and for some reason have active PBAoE effects which makes them terrible by design, and the passives aren’t worth the slot the skills take up. Shouts…. Just wow.
Good thing all of these utilities are still in beta, because ANet, you definitely need this time to make these utilities worthwhile.

Weapons:

  • Longbow-Good weapon, ANet, you managed to get one right for this BWE. Don’t change a thing.
  • Greatsword-The autoattack chain is awful, but the rest of the weapon kit is pretty decent, although hilt bash only reaches about 200 of the 300 range it lists. Fix this bug before Druid goes live.
  • Axe-What is this weapon trying to be? It has range but can’t do anything at range, it has no conditions on autoattack even though the damage of this weapon is clearly favoring conditions, and the secondary effect on the axe is only as reliable as the mechanic, so aka, not reliable.
  • Sword-This is a great weapon, outside of the ridiculous autoattack chain animation binding you. Does this weapon even need this sort of treatment? It makes it very clunky and hard to use, even after you get used to it, because you have to use it either situationally or all in.
  • Shortbow- Horrible weapon. Outside of the autoattack and 5, the rest of the skills are boring, don’t really work well or add much to the ability of the weapon to do anything (shortbow 4 and the bleeds are so weak, this is just a beta issue right?). Good thing this is still beta, because this weapon needs a total overhaul.
  • Torch – another thing done right. Don’t touch this weapon.
  • Dagger – the third thing done right so far. Leave it as is.
  • Warhorn – Warhorn 5 skill is strong, though its effects don’t justify its cooldown. Warhorn 4 is extremely subpar. Single target, long-ish cooldown, poor damage, no additional effects. Since this is beta, the numbers or something on this skill is getting tweaked right? It could at least be AoE (like mad king rune effect 6) and dodgeable to compensate (delayed animation to where the birds meet, dodging the first hit negates the whole attack).
  • Offhand Axe – Axe 4 is perfectly fine, although it bugs out on terrain WAY too often, halving its potential or worse, since the pull effect is usually the part that fails on the second half of the skill. Axe 5 is one of the longest channels if not the longest channel in the game, and is plagued by rooting you during the whole cast, dealing lackluster damage, and only being functional as a reflect, which compared to all of the commonly used reflect skills, make it a poor choice to ever even activate since you root yourself and lose the ability to do any other action during that time period.

Overall, my beta impressions of the Druid were not pleasant (sorry that I keep using Ranger and Druid interchangeably). Everything was clunky and seemed fairly duct taped together, especially the mechanic, without any sort of design goal or effort to make the skills functional and effective.

Hopefully, these things improve for Druid by the next BWE or by expansion, because they are otherwise pretty awful and should never make it to a live game in their current condition.

calling cele d/d a hybrid build is laughable.

cele d/d isn’t a hybrid build, its an EVERYTHING build, outside of access to stealth (not like they need it) and maybe spike damage potential, there isn’t a single thing in pvp that cele d/d doesn’t at least achieve a 90% efficiency at compared to the top of the line specs.

they can bunker at least 90% as well as a guardian, has at least 90% of the mobility of a thief, can cleanse/dish out condis etc etc.

its not a “hybrid” if you get 50 miles per gallon but also can haul as much as a pickup truck and take on a Bugatti Veyron in a street race

It’s actually called Swampland. And the time it takes to roll it is significantly less than doing Uncategorized, Urban Battlegrounds, and possibly the same amount Of time as Aquatic Ruins tho a lot of people don’t like Aquatic Ruins or don’t have the AR for it. So if you want to do an extra 15-20 mins in your run then don’t roll Swampland. And to be brutally honest if you don’t bother to do that you most likely don’t know or don’t bother with the other little things that make fractals go faster or easier.

100% REAL, LEGIT AND NOT SATIRICAL PATCH NOTES

Following feedback from the majority of our players, we are making the following changes to dungeons to bring them further in line with our original design manifesto.

Currently, players of any level are able to enter any dungeon, an oversight by our original dungeon team. This has been exploited by certain players to level new characters faster than we think they should. These exploiters have all been permanently banned, and to prevent further occurrences and enhance dungeons we have made the following changes:

  • Dungeon story modes must now be unlocked by being of the appropriate level, and bringing a special item tangentially related to the dungeon to the NPC outaide the dungeon. This special item can only be obtained from world boss chests, and is not a guaranteed drop. Explorable modes now require story mode to be completed before players can enter such instances.
  • All dungeons are now contestable, and new meta event chains have been added in the vicinity of dungeon entrances that are required to progress if the dungeon is to open, as part of an initiative to promote immersion and encouraging players to explore the open world.

The New Player Experience (NPE) has been integrated into dungeons to assist newer players making their first foray into this poorly designed excuse for a farm lore-rich instanced content. Henceforth:

  • All cutscenes are now unskippable and players are forced to sit through minutes of boring monologue richly voice acted scenarios including one involving a charr telling an asura that his plan is stupid and won’t work.
  • Popups will now appear throughout story mode dungeons containing useful information, such as informing you that the chests spawned at certain points in the dungeon might give you a legendary precursor, et cetera.
  • Completion of a dungeon will now reward you with an unsalvageable masterwork aquatic breather, in addition to Empyreal Fragments.

Other changes not necessarily pertaining to dungeons:

  • Trahearne has now been added to all dungeon instances to tie dungeons in with the Personal Story and Living World. In each dungeon, there is now a compulsory objective to rescue Trahearne after the main path has been completed.
  • Added a new boss to all dungeon paths as part of the Trahearne rescue: Legendary Mordrem Dredge Disaggregator. This boss, in addition to applying protection every 10 seconds with a gong, will randomly stun you with said gong and summon dredge cars that endlessly spawn Mordrem Teragriff Bashers until destroyed.
  • Dungeon clear times are now tracked, and the NPC outside each dungeon or the vendors in Lion’s Arch will show the slowest 3 clears of the day, as well as the average clear time of the dungeon. Players who complete all dungeon paths in 20 minutes faster than the average times of each path in a day will receive an Ascended chest containing their choice of a piece of armor with Nomad stats, and a new title: Berserker Elitist.
  • Berserker gear has been renamed to Elitist gear, while Assassin’s gear has been renamed Tryhard/Wannabe gear.

This statement exists for the sole purpose of indicating that the notes above are satirical (if the title wasn’t obvious enough), that I am well aware that this thread is worthy of bingo, that I may get infracted for spreading misinformation (which would be stupid, since I made it pretty obvious this is fake, yes I was suspended for that very reason) and that I pity any sucker who believes that this post is a genuine set of patch notes by ArenaNet representatives, which I am not. Seriously, why am I including this disclaimer? It ruins the fun.

Signed,
LOD’s elitist jaguar

But im sure some people would buy it for 500 gems, even if it doesnt give a speed buff.
It would just enable you to ride around your favourite city on it, while all your hype related tells in map chat will flash in different colors and look all sparkly.

Maybe add a wagon or two, for your favourite mini and a Cape to fly from the last one.

I would buy it just to run it off a cliff.
