Btw guys, this is not my video. When I saw it for the first time I was so impressed I copied his build.
i luv my necro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI1TMPhyK7w&feature=youtu.be
What on earth happened? I don’t understand.
This video shows why I disagree w/ you on a lot of points you make:
Checked, your wrong.
No sir, you’re wrong.
Lol! You still use an axe! Haha! XD
Every single complaint is about High tier team SPVP?
This video shows why I disagree w/ you on a lot of points you make:
http://youtu.be/HzyVTFM7uScYou sir, need to learn from the underdog pros.
That is a WvW video. I learned underdog pros post in the wrong threads.
I just learned you didn’t see it was a NECROMANCER video under the NECROMANCER forum. Get your eyes checked.
Don’t blame it on Dhuumfire making him good either. Check out his micro. He’s good.

You sir, need to learn from the underdog pros.
Ya, you’ll have to wait until Halloween again for that.
Since the new update a lot of town items being used as armor is pretty awesome so I’m sure Anet will bring them back this year. I know because if they do they got my money. I want Bloody Prince’s staff. :P
I’m happy they changed it too. Arah speed runs didn’t need them.
Saw it in the Vault and I looked it up online, but nothing in wiki. Anyone have any idea if there’s another one that looks like it or how to obtain it?
Thank you.
Superior Rune of Nightmare * 6
50% chance to Fear enemy from being hit? Gdlyke in both pve & pvp.
Main: Superior Sigil of Corruption + Superior Sigil of Energy
2nd: Superior Sigil of Geomancy + Superior Sigil of Energy
Copy + Paste for aquatic gear.
Cooldown of Energy matches cooldown of weapon swap. One free dodge per weapon change every time weapon is off-cooldown.
Corruption & Geomancy self explanatory via conditionmancer build.
I like how Dhuumfire works now. I can now “condition spike” with burning on demand, while fearing my opponent down, so he can’t cleanse it properly. It is awesome.
I dislike how Dhuumfire is now. I main pve. Dhuumfire helped to clear out mobs faster with aoe crits. I now have to switch out of the skill as the only good use I see it for is pvp/wvw… something I don’t care as much about.
I can still kill mobs fast, just not as fast. The same goes for champions. This change was to help balance pvp, yet it nerfed pve. Wish they made the two separate so both sides win.
The time is now 4:35 on my watch. Just read on my screen:
“A new build will be available in 10 minutes.”
This is it folks, no joke!
Since we can have two sigils at one time w/ a staff, can we also stack sigil stacks?
Like Sigil of corruption + Sigil of Bloodlust.
Do these two stack or no?
It’s called jealousy and envy and those who don’t have a legendary are mad at those who do because of those two things.
Same thing with money in the real world. Everyone wants it and the minute you have more than them they hate you.

…you see a small dirt mound and want to mine it.
1. Drop your guild.
2. Find another guild w/ teamspeak/ventrilo/etc.
3. Welcome back.
Can you tell me all the details on his build?
I see primarily two different views on the forums and I want to know which you think is better and why.
Those who choose Berserker get the following:
+Power
+Precision
+Critical Damage
While this has great burst damage, the new update is going to hurt this build, imo.
Those who choose Dire get the following:
+Condition Damage
+Toughness
+Vitality
While this build has less overall burst damage, it benefits from sustain in a long fight.
Put aside quarreling w/ other classes for now, this is a battle for the better necro build (post April 15th update). Let me know what you guys think. I really am curious.
Don’t know if this is a glitch or it’s supposed to be, but I swam around the entire island and kept jumping when I was finally able to jump on the island. Turns out there are a ton of invisible walls.
Is this a glitch or left intentionally in the game for those who tried to go on top of the ship searching for the skill point instead of underneath it?
Here’s the wiki so I won’t have to explain as much:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Blades
So I noticed I can create Deldrimor Steel Ingots through the Artificer trade. Unfortunately I don’t know if that effects my ability to get the Gift of Blades or is the crafting solely exclusive to Armorsmith?
The reason why I ask is because I main a necromancer and I know those need light armor. I’ve also begun to create 15 Bolts of Damask in preparation for the case that the Gift of Blades from Artificer doesn’t work.
So if I create the Gift of Blades, does it matter if it’s from Artificer or Tailor or does it have to be exclusive to your type of armor you wear?
Thank you.
Hey. I created a video of a glitch when using Death Shroud. Every now and then I would get a copy of my character when I entered or exited Death Shroud. Happened every now and then and I don’t know how to duplicate it. Here’s a video I made of what it looks like… and it ends when you take damage:
http://youtu.be/MeA62yx-GLg
I play PvE necro so I disagree w/ this. We’ve needed buffs for a long time and you’re already complaining.
/No, just no.
Hands down Lupi is THE MOST annoying boss to fight.
Anyone know if this update will kill Lupi Pugs?
But if your stacking might with life blast and at the same time stacking vulnerability on them, that will increase your damage output. Was just thinking that might be better a better route.
Oh, and I haven’t done a test run on the overall dps of using Unyielding Blast. Anyone know if the ‘piercing’ damage adds even more dps?
I may actually change to Unyielding Blast depending on the overall dps output… as in WvW I hardly ever go down if I play safely.
(edited by ThCakeIsALie.5306)
I think what KoKaLo had done by making use of Unyielding Blast along with the might would be better. I think Fear of Death being replaced for Unyielding Blast because I tend to find if I go down then more than likely im dead. Plus 90 second cooldown is a long time.
But if your stacking might with life blast and at the same time stacking vulnerability on them, that will increase your damage output. Was just thinking that might be better a better route.
I thought about this too, but stacks of Vulnerability only stack for 1% boost of damage… which isn’t much. 25 stacks of Vuln is great, but this build is geared towards Might, not Vuln.
Play the build that suites your style, I just kept Fear of Death on because it’s geared towards the build being primarily focused around Fear and Might.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THIS BUILD EVER BE USED AS A 1-MAN ARMY! Remember, WvW is a TEAM fight. Fear of Death is used primarily for that… for you to delay your death even further in hopes your allies rez you in time. After all, you have the highest natural health pool in the game… tell me why are you dying so fast again?
But I have nothing against if you choose to alter this build to your playstyle. I found it very interesting how ez it was to keep a 10 stack perma-Might.
To be honest, outside of PVE, I can’t see this working. What player is going to stand there and let you poke at him with DS1 10 times?
No one. Make sure you aren’t doing a 1-man army routine, that’s just stupid. Team fights all the way.
You’ll primarily be mid-back of mob fights at all times if you’re playing WvW correctly. You’ll focus on one enemy at a time until you lose sight due to enemy running away, then you switch to closest enemy w/ whatever macro you have yours programmed to and continue building Might. Once out of DS you should be able to spam all 5 staff skills w/ 20+ stacks of Might on.
I say get both (AC gear), but if I had a choice to pick either or I’d pick toughness due to our life pool already being one of the highest, bonus off Death pool trait line, and toughness adds layers to your overall life pool / EHP.
Hello all. Was wondering if there are any threads that have the best type of protection guardian. Pretty much I want to be as supportive as possible. I know it’s not possible to remain full support, but I want to be as protective support as possible.
I’m running a Sylvari Guardian. I know Mace+Shield is the best w/ Staff off-hand for protection Guardians. Any threads or builds would be helpful, thanks.
This is the build I respec’d into now that I’m lvl 80:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNBmQDbkRLdPezTjhTRI94ZXDaQFefUhgRpQdpD
My original thread about it is here (only I changed Plague to Lich Form in PvE due to dungeon runs):
Once you reach lvl 80 it becomes more about WvW w/ your guild and/or dungeon runs. I, personally, chose a fear build at the end because 1) I think it’s a LOT of fun -and- 2) I have high hopes for the fear trait line and I do think they’ll buff it in the future.
Hope any of this helped.
Well-o-mancer is what I ran from lvls 10 – 80 and it’s a lot of fun!
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNBmQDbESLUPTzSjePBIp45rnew94iHpo4hB
Lay down your traps (marks), send out your Flesh Golem to grab the aggro, cast Well of Darkness to apply blind & freeze so your Flesh Golem stays alive longer, then cast the rest of your wells, turn to DS, AoE skill 4, switch back, cast more traps, switch to dagger to finish off any small health.
Warhorn is for travel and escape.
This is a great video for a hybrid P/CD build:
http://youtu.be/4OCcT7iJUrA
I’m kind of the opposite really.
Same. Been playing Necro since GW1 beta and I can’t get over it. -_-
or… how about just keep applying conditions until they run out of cleanses and then drop your mother load BiP on them and kite?
Agreed.
Dunno why the OP is having such a hard time. Must not be spamming enough conditions or not enough skills/traits to improve his overall dps.
I just posted a WvW fear build on these forums that I had no problem with… you just got to learn when and when not to fight and kite properly.
No Focused Rituals or Vampiric Rituals.
This Well-o-Mancer is not impressed. >_>
Did a test run last night to get my 50 kills for my monthly and the k/d ratio was extremely high.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNBmQDbkRLdPezTjfTRI94ZXDaQFefUhgRpQdpD
Pretty self-explanatory:
WvW you’ll be getting a ton of CC, go w/ Consume Conditions.
See an enemy? Use BiP. It’ll apply 10 stacks of might for 15.5 seconds. Switch into DS for the Reaper’s Might buff to get up to 20+ stacks of might (since it also lasts 15s w/ each hit) by the time you get out of DS. Once out of DS you’re packing 20+ stacks of might that you CAN get all of your staff skills out for extremely fast burst dps/DoT.
Keep Corrupt Boon for special occasions… like every now and then I would see a warrior or ele use a special skill that would grant them a ton of boons as a last resort when the battle wasn’t going their way and they needed to run… congratz on the stack of freeze & cripple, they’re not going anywhere, you just secured your team another kill.
The ONLY way I’ve been able to bring my stacks of might up to 25 was when I layed down the Well of Power and the enemy team was also using AoE condition spams, so be aware that you’ll constantly have at least a 10 stack perma-Might if you play this build correctly.
Oh, and stick to using a Warhorn and Plague elite. In battle movement is everything. Either running towards or away from the enemy. Warhorn helps in both areas and Plague should only be used when escaping as the cripple + blind will give you the extra seconds you need to reach your team just a skip away.
For equips I recommend full AC gear as it gives you the most survivability while you run & kite.
I also used a Superior Sigil of Battle (3 stacks of Might for 20s) on my Staff to boost the might when I switched to my Staff. Pretty much I would run w/ Locust Swarm, see an enemy mob, use BiP (which caused me into combat mode), switched to my staff and instantly start the fight w/ 13 stacks of Might. From there it was a matter of ABC’s when fighting to reach 20+ stacks of Might in under 10s.
Dagger I used Superior Sigil of Bloodlust to add to my power as a finisher (Locust Swarm to chase down enemy along w/ Dark Pact to guarantee the kill since Dagger has the highest base DPS).
And For the Warhorn I added a Superior Sigil of Hydromancy (Freeze nearby foes for 3s when swapping to this weapon) for help w/ escape.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
(edited by ThCakeIsALie.5306)
This is was the PvE wells build I ran because ALL (including healing) wells siphon health, and all your siphoning health is 50% more effective so your health sustain is much higher than that of your build.
Also used Flesh Golem because he held the aggro.
That’s the problem. Having played a Well-o-mancer from lvls 20 – 80 and some in S/T PvP I can assure you that it’s a REALLY bad build to play. It works in WvW great because a lot of times groups of enemies cluster in one area, but in S/T PvP it’s just horrible because the enemy team can see the pools easy and they’re not in it longer than 2 seconds… so your total dps is so very small.
My test runs only consist of 5 runs total. If they don’t succeed in 5 runs, high chances are they will continue to fail so it’s not worthy. How did the Well-o-mancer do in the 5 runs? Failed EVERY time.
Trust me man, Well-o-mancer is great, but only in PvE and WvW. Don’t bring it in S/T PvP, it’s just bad.
So there’s a ‘Bunny Champion’ in the fractals… why isn’t there a bunny king?
Seriously, why not have a special mission like the Cow Level in Diablo 2, but ours would be to fight the Bunny King!
Think about it, you have to go through this crazy land, filled w/ bunnies, pink bunnies, star bunnies, astro bunnies, to take back the land from the evil bunny king terrorizing it!
At the end of the map you would fight a ginormous Bunny Rabbit w/ a crown on its head… only to find out it was just a machine being piloted by an itty bitty bunny rabbit!
Little did you know this puny bunny rabbit had astronomical super powers that could KO you and your team w/ 1-hit kills or AoE 1-hit kills! “Zomg, the bunny king has gone maaaaaaaad!!” :O
C’mon guys, I wanna see this as a special fun zone. The prerequisites need to be super hard, yet fun… like a long scavenger hunt. Once you get certain items you then place them at a bunny alter to enter into the bunny land.
Forget Karka being hard to fight, I want to fight bunnies! :P
Lupi loves you, your teammates hate you.
I’ve put so much time and effort into the necro profession…
When did this game come out again? …so much time …already? O_o
Is that the point of the necro profession? To get the community to fall in love with the idea that is ‘the necro’, but not actually bring into fruition a balanced and fully featured deliverable?
I LOVE the Necromancer class! However, I think it’s mainly those who do hardcore PvP/WvW that cry the most about the necros being weak compared to other classes. I’m primarily PvE and so far I only have the complaint of the nerf to Fear w/ Defiant. But that’s only in dungeons so it’s no biggy, imo.
Chillax man, Anet’s working on it! The game hasn’t been out for a year yet, lol!
Wvw is getting boring because no matter what class you play, your build will always be screwed by one other class.
Strongly disagree and very pessimistic. I have fun in WvW and hardly ever die because all I do is stand back while the tanks go in, stay alive, and keep on the mass AoE CC. Someone chases after me? I run away. Save face… even w/ lots of Toughness/Vitality.
Kiting mobs are the funnest thing in the world! Both in PvE & WvW
Ranged AoE.
/thread
^ Nuff said.
Seriously just go all out ranged AoE’s for WvW. You don’t have to get the kills directly to get the points for your monthly (which is what I’m assuming the main reason is, yes?).
Don’t focus on 1v1 or 2v1. Your job isn’t to kill. In WvW you should always be seeking out a team, not doing things on your own. That’ll only cost you more repairs to your armor when you get ganked. Your main job, as a Necromancer in WvW, should be to help your team batter down the enemies’ health as much as possible w/ tons of condition AoE’s.
At this point in the game it is better to kite and stay alive in WvW than do duels. What good are you to the team if you’re dead?
I played WvW using a glass cannon build and still never died once in a large team fight because I stayed back and kited. My teammates loved me because I kept up the CC (Crowd Control).
Hope that helps.
hello everyone, im new to guildwars 2 and im a level 35 necro but im not sure how to build my char so that it can handle dungeons and wvw events fine in the future
You’ll want to stat full Ascalonian armor/weapons as that gives you the only combination of Toughness/Vitality… no other armor selection gives you this (other than a couple of higher dungeons, but they’re the same stats). Currently they don’t have a Condition Damage/T/V armor set yet so it’s your only reasonable option for SUSTAINABILITY in a dungeon/WvW setting. You could go to a glass cannon build of something like Power/Condition Damage/Magic Find for dungeon farming, but if you’re exclusively towards sustainability, go the route I suggested above.
Here’s a link to the exotic armor stats:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Apm7-NVTY0WKdG9qVlQ3bVM3UWtVeXBOV0V2THA0VHc#gid=0
There’s also another build I saw, which is great, that focuses on 50% crit, Power and Condition Damage, but it’s also a glass cannon so it’s not recommended for everyone. Here’s a link to the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OCcT7iJUrA
which is better for wvw condition or power mancer
I don’t care what anyone else says, for WvW you want to focus on AoE conditions that you can stay out of the fight and kite enemy mobs. Seriously, I use Well-o-mancer in WvW and it rox my sox because you don’t have to get a direct kill to get the point for your achievement, all you have to do is help in the kill and since there are tons of ppl gathered in specific spots in a heated battle, your AoE conditions will inflict at least one of them that your thief ally will bring down rather quickly… congratz on an easy kill.
For S/T PvP, Powermancer all the way… only because there’s no CD/T/V armor yet.
also advice on the trait slots would be great
If it’s Powermancer, focus primarily on Power, Toughness, and Vitality. Do a search on this forum for the ‘Juggermancer’ build. It’s pretty much a great place to start for a Powermancer and it shows the math behind Toughness/Vitality.
If it’s Conditionmancer there are several good builds on here, but my Well-o-mancer runs 20 in death (w/ focus on Marks/Staff), 20 in Curses & 25 in Blood (w/ focus on Wells).
Hope that helped some!
