Game event is the funnest with friends, since i cant play till the restoration. All my progress before the restoration will be gone.. So no point playing till the account is restored.

I’m sorry this happened to you man.. but Arenanet doesn’t really help people out. In every thread I’ve been reading in this forum their only reply was “Sorry this happened to you, I’m sure it’s being looked at but if you don’t get a response post in the ‘tickets for review’ thread after 3 days” they say that same exact thing in every single thread. I’d suggest going to another MMO, I may do that myself because I too have been wronged when I know a company (like Blizzard of course) would NEVER let that happen to me.. They’d respond within the hour not wait 3 days then say there’s nothing they can do.

I love this game, i cant leave my friends behind. Im willing to wait and wait, havent been playing since the 17th. If i do logon i just stay in one spot, messaging my friends then logoff..

Ive been waitting for a good amount of days now for my account to be restored, and the communication between players and Arena is very poor. I have been hacked aswell, all my gems and gold and items stolen/salvaged/sold, and Arena just confirmed my restoration about a day now but its taking way long to happen. Ive done everything to protect my account, also on my other games ive never expirienced hacking at all only here. Arena needs to help all of us, cause the hackers are using our accounts to get us banned.

I got hacked last night/this morning and once I reset my password and got to poking around I noticed my authorized IP list is totally empty? Not even my own is listed, but it still wont prompt me for the goggle authenticator I added today after the hacking.

I have a similar issue with the authorised location (IP), im waitting for Arena to remove this or for us to have the function to remove it. Hope they can come up with a quick solution to this, or there will be more accounts that is a risk of being hacked.

MY account was hacked, i lost 700 hours of progress, the hacker cleared everything i had in my inventory/bank. I was gone for 5 hours, only 5 hours and they had cleared it all and destroyed all my (cultural tier 3) gear. they even cleared my guild’s bank being that im an officer in the guild. How on earth can we be left so defenseless, why are we not being protected, we can only protect our accounts to a certain point. I have not in my hours upon hours of researching the web been able to find ANYONE who has been able to get their gold and gear restored. im losing faith honestly, i love guild wars, and i want to play already. If anybody has had there account rolled back please post in this forum and give us all some hope!!

My account is approved for a restoration already, but for some odd reason their finding the closest image for the restoration? Please, the ticket has a date its so simple to find the closest image based on the date. And yes i am also losing all hope on Arena for the fact that, their taking way too long to fix issues. I can understand that GW2 just came out in a short time, but i don’t understand is why they didn’t predict this kind of events happening? Other games already took major leaps in security before release, and GW2 didnt? What were they doing during Beta? Scratching their heads?

Believe me, mate, I do feel the same way. After a stress-filled day as a govt. contractor, it definitely pays off to relax on GW2. That, and whacking people playing tennis. Just do something else for a while..heck, read a book, play some PS3, talk on your phone with your girlfriend…hopefully both of us will get favorable results from Anet sooner or later. Just stressing over one thing will NOT make the world move faster.

And leaving it alone will just make it slower, ive heard about Arena making people wait for over 3 weeks or even months. I cant afford to wait that long.

Well…reposting it multiple times isn’t gonna make the clock go faster….especially if you’re reposting it at hours at a time. However, a concern to me is that there is not much communication between Arena and their customers regarding this issue. Also, a curious thing being, are there any staff there right now at their GW2 offices to fix problems, or are they out for the holiday season?

Another thing for TheLunaticDawn: This is very important to a lot of us, yes…but don’t you think you’re sounding extremely desperate? Calm down for a bit, take a deep breath, dude! Others like myself and Titan Cronus are in the same boat as you…we’re not going ballistic over this.

I cant “Calm Down” when i want to go back in the game, i enjoy this game alot. It calms me down playing it after a stress filled day at work, you have no idea what ive been doing over and over just to pass time now. I want my account fixed.

Now this is an alarming issue, so if a person sends X amount of Gold to someone. Arena will just ban them for that? Even when its a legit transfer, and not selling or buying gold in exchange of Real Money? I feel your pain (Your friends pain) and i hope this can be sorted out really soon.

Yea.. I was banned recently for a reason which I still have no idea. They will not provide me with evidence so I have no idea what I did wrong. If you type in “Arenanet bans” on google.. you’ll see literally thousands of cases of players getting banned for no reason. Another thing I don’t get is this was my very first offense and I was never given a warning of any sort.

Ugh, now this is getting worse and worse. People just wanting to give other people money (Gold) to enjoy the game, would now think twice on helping other people. I guess Arena is againts friendly players helping others, cause this looks like it.

Yea I think I’m about done with this game. It’s kinda sad considering all the money I spent on this game one would figure that they’d care about their paying customers just a little bit.

Pretty much.. Arenanet just coerces you into buying the game, then treats you like you’re nothing. I even spent alot of money on gems and the way they are treating me is just wrong. They deleted one of my threads just now regarding why they haven’t sent me any evidence.. and they didn’t even give me a reason as to why the thread was deleted. I got a message in my inbox saying “this is an automated message to inform you that your thread has been removed by a moderator” nothing else.. it’s really just surprising to see an actual company treating their paying customers like this.

To delete a character a box pops up verifying which character you are about to delete and forces you to type in that character’s name before hitting the delete button. How more idiot proof do you need? You want Arenanet to waste resources on creating a better prevention of accidental deletion than that?

That method is not the most effective process there is, it might prevent account deletion by accident. But the hackers can clearly use that to delete your character, so all in all a process that is ineffective.

Bumping this up again, getting frustrated with all this delays when my ticket is clearly accepted for restoration. It makes me think that they don’t know what their doing, and just want to search in the dark. The ticket has a date on it, why not just base the restoration on the tickets date.

Ive put up with waitting since the 17th, always keeping up hope that my account will be fixed. Im getting tired and losing all hopes on Arena, i want to get back ingame to enjoy it like i did before the hacking. I want my game back, i want to enjoy my game again. Several days will not cut it, they can obviously see that the date i was hacked was on the 17th. Why in the hell would they need to do a restoration in several days when clearly, they know exactly when it happened when i filed the ticket.

Perhaps OP you should instead be in the suggestion forum asking for a lock of some kind to prevent deleting of characters from the character menu. Might be worthwhile for people like you and people who get high recreationally would probably benefit too lol.

Perhaps a deletion password would help, a password thats separate from your login password to get on the game. This would greatly help, also a 30 minutes to 24hrs grazing period before the character gets deleted, other games already practice either one of this ideas some even goes as far as 3 days.

Four days of break wasted including the reset… losing hope. I know it can be complicated but I dont like how they send a response… then you respond yet your response gets stuck in the back of the queue again. Every response has a 2 day delay before the next one.

So all of a sudden I’m being forced to change my Guardian’s name Miss Sugar Thighs. I don’t get what is offensive about this name, not to mention I’ve had it for years in Guild Wars 1 (in which the name has been allowed up to this very minute, though I have no doubt anet will swoop down on it now I’ve mentioned that).

I would encourage you to contact your Guild Leader and have them remove this player from the guild. Sounds like a hacker and they would love to get their dirty hands on the guild vault goodies.

It is a hacker, they target people with high ranks in a guild. Those who can withdraw items and gold from the guild storage.

So recently, I was grinding as normal. I stumbled upon a player who said to be of Chinese origin, and their English showed it. They asked to join my guild, naturally, i invited him in. There was like a 5 minute period where he was idle, then he responded with, “IM SORRY MY ENGLISH IS BAD I CANNOT READ” then" THANKS -_-" Naturally, i just brushed it off and continued playing. When i logged out tonight to check my email and get ready for bed. I got ALOT of notices that my accounts were being accessed but not successfully logged into. This struck some serious fear in me and i only managed to change the account password of my GW2 email. Going back through my chat logs, i got his IP, which as my topic titled suggest, was from China. My question to the GW2 security team, is what they are doing to assure that people cannot get this type of information.

Im sure Arena is working on a solution for this (I think) they are taking this matter seriously, so yeah send in a ticket. Sorry if i sound like a generic replier, all i can say.

I’m planning on picking up a couple of gem cards for a few friends in Canada and giving them out as gifts for the holidays. If I bought the cards in the states and took them up to Canada with me, will they have any problems redeeming them?

You could buy Gold instead, then give them the Gold and they can exchange it for Gems. Thats an easier way, plus. If the exchange from Gold to Gem is high, they will get more than you originaly planned.

Not a bad idea, but I’d rather give them something they can physically redeem. “Oh here’s 10g” seems a bit impersonal. Even more so than a gift card.

I didn’t know where to put this post. Anyway, here is my problem.. I had decided to delete my warrior Valkry Windwalker to make her into a Guardian. I later realized I had forgotten she had on the pirate costume I had purchased from the gemstore. Is there a way I can get the costume back or am I s. o. l ? I know it was my fault, but who hasn’t made a mistake. I would love to have it back if all possible, if you can’t, well I guess I will need to be more careful next time before deleting my toons.

I’d file a ticket as soon as possible, a simple mistake i bet Arena’s gonna help.

Ticket inputed, Did all steps they suggested including changing passowrd and dont work.

I will give it till tomm and if it dont work I will call the cc company and look about getting my money back. Non working product is protected against.

As i said thier billing/support / account systems is the worst in any MMO including sony giving out account/cc numbers. THEY SUCK.. games are good to decent but I remember why i cancled paying for 2 other of their products now!!!

I must say looking at the number of hacked accounts, number of problems with accounts I understand and believe them all.

NCsoft since they sold out suck with accounts. Games are very good but the support/account issues stink.

Sorry to hear problems I hope I get in to play and find no issues but i doubt it.

Me I have created new account, verified, put in my 60$ code and downloaded and cant play Grayed out play button.. I verified twice now any other ideas?

Have you submitted a ticket? Make sure to submit one asap, Arena will review it. But i doubt it will be a fast action, but it wont hurt trying (I know im lying about it wont hurt deal) but doing something is worth it than staying silent in the dark, while waitting for nothing.

Watch out man, i posted a really similar thread yesterday and was given an infraction. my account was banned for no apparent reason and i’ve filed a ticket and reached out to multiple sources but i haven’t gotten a single response except for the forum infraction. Im losing 3 days of game time because of the incompetence of the support team

I feel for you, and my issue is reaching 3 days as we speak with no action. Other people just say wait and wait, but no action taken or no confirmation it will be taken at all.

i hate that. why should we have to wait through the entire ban to find out if we were guilty or not? it makes no sense at all. It’s like sending someone to jail for 10 years and then proving them innocent at trial. I just wish they had one REAL human that i could talk to. Its so frustrating to know that i am completely and utterly helpless in this situation. I might as well be throwing bottled messages into the ocean and hoping they eventually reach arena net.

Cause people pulled out fake hack reports before on other games. So their deciding if we did it on purpose or not, and they wont take your word to face value. So they will make you go through a long process of seeing if you did it on purpose or not. Even though you really didn’t want to be hacked or you didn’t do it cause its pointless, why plan a fake hack when you love playing the game and willing to pay real life money to invest for the game. Technicaly, we are guilty in their eyes till proven innocent. A process that takes weeks if not forever.
