I will always play burn guard over trapper DH guard. I find that doing 9k burn in 3 sec kinda scares some people.. not to mention burn is one of the more powerful condis atm… I go GS and S/T and I wreck people all the time… ALL the time.. they think im DH and dodge roll only to find out…o kitten.. not DH but burn… I can easily beat a necro no matter what spec with burn guard. …Just got to know how and when to do it.

i have over 2500 as guard…. he isn’t the only one who plays one class!

Which i don’t understand.. nothing we got is game changing…. the bow is nice now if traited to heal spec… but other than that… its nothing spectacular… And most are rangers or necs i just litterally melt now…

LOL warrior is by far the easiest class to master… All warriors just want to think it takes skill.. when in fact a monkey after 2 hrs can play it well…

Neptune can you show us the pvp build you would use for s/torch? I am curious to runes sigils ect i should use. I have over 3600 games as guard and i want a change of pace.. i like mes and that build sounds nice.. thanks in advance.

Hmm looks interesting.. on thing though.. how do you close… ON classes that run away and seeing as guards are slow as crap…

Sword/focus its just too good atm. you can close with sword.. sword has nice dps focus is nice b/c at end of block it explodes and does damage. Plus it provides 3 blocks which is nice against thief’s. ele combo. Blind on focus is amazing. I run torch instead of focus when i want to troll and run burn build but that’s not very often.

Keep pressure on them…. easiest way… apply pressure do not let up. Med guards have a pretty decent time beating them with the burn/DD… just keep at it.. save your virtues till you need them… run pirate runes b/c that bird is op atm… practice and you will beat them. Most thief’s are terrible and will hit you with number 2-3 times wasting there initiative… just keep at it you will get them.

No one cares if you are number 1 engi lol.. 1st off there are not that many “good engies” to compare you to.. second off most of the lvl 80 spvp rank people skyhammer farmed.. NOW if you were to say you were in your 60-70s that would be legit.. but anyone 80 now a days i laugh at.. usually they die just as easy as the lvl 10s

O and engis are in a good state atm.. prob a little to good but they are in a good spot.. stop QQ more pew pew

Trying to find out if spirit weapons are viable in PVP now. I know that the hammer is nice for the knockdown… and what not but do you think that it is viable now? If so what kind of build would you all suggest? I want to mix things up a bit since I have been gone awhile. I see a lot of warriors running Hambow. Thanks in advance.

WHO cares about the PAX tourney Colins.. IT SHOULD NOT have even happened with how the state of the game is… Specially with how the leader boards work, how rank is earned and how broken some classes still are.

Its not random. I get the same map rotation every single time. It never fails.

why does everyone kiss the devs butts? Seriously they have said things time and time again only to have the response. WE do not want to rush it and SOON! well SOON i will be playing a New MMORPG that has better pvp if you don’t hurry up. I played this game since beta 1. I just NOW am at the point where i dont even want to log on to do my daily. The point capture system is old and tiresome. I really REALLY wish Anet the best but it doesn’t look like it will be going anywhere in the next 3-6 months. If it does I may come back atm I’m tired Colin of empty promises. You all should not even have done PAX till the game was in a good spot. But you did it anyways.

How hard is it to make rewards for pvp? Just add few exclusive skins we can buy with glory since thats good for nothing right now why do we have to wait a months for rewards when pve gets it every 2 weeks…. You are not going to have any pvp players left by then. Just saying…..

We want to totally revamp the way rewards and PvP interact with the entire game, what you’re suggesting is relatively easy, but in the long run not what we think fundamentally will solve the core issue with PvP. We’re working on comprehensive fixes to help bring PvP and the sense of more reward more in with the rest of the game, rather than apply band-aids on a system we don’t really like anyway.

As for the skins, absolutely that’s one of things we’re discussing.

Unless you reset everyones rank to 0 which i know you will not do, you are just going to reward those that farmed rank… hense why this game is dying. Nothing to look forward to.

And on top of that. Everytime a dev posts its always we dont want to give to much detail or when its ready. Seriously there are games in BETA that give the player more detail then this game when they are trying to fix something. I can name 3 THREE off the top of my head that have done this. SMITE even goes as far as to have a dev READ the patch notes on twitch and EXPLAIN exactly WHY they did what they did.. You all do not do ANYTHING close to this. We are in the dark. Its as if this is some top top secret thing that is going to totally revolutionize the way the pvp is in this game.. Its not.

I played since beta 1 as a bunker guard and i just recently started playin dps. I am only rank 45 but i gives 2 kittens. Let the farmers farm. It is what it is.

If they have marks are not able to be blocked dodging wont work. but the rest of what he said will work. Be up in there face. if you use s/d you can evade a lot of there moves and steal there boons to. would help you lots. AND make sure you don’t just waste the 4 sec fear you steal from them. Use it right as they are about to heal or dead.

Don’t get me wrong, Guardian has access to a lot of heals—if you build and trait for them, that is. But when I go from playing my Warrior with Healing Signet to playing my Guardian I’m still amazed at how superior Warrior regeneration is with so little effort. For example, Healing Signet + Adrenal Health (minor trait) grants a warrior approximately 500 health per second in full Berserker gear and full Berserker trait. Pair that with Warrior’s health pool and I rarely ever pay any attention to my Warrior’s health in PvE gameplay. That’s pretty insane.

Currently Virtue of Resolve heals for ~100 with a full Berserker build. Now I’m not suggesting it be anywhere near Healing Signet, but surely increasing it to 150-200 wouldn’t be game breaking considering Guardian was given the lowest HP pool in exchange for “more healing”

So ya want it to be 250, then be able to 1250 hp/s (to 5 group.)

Virtue of resolve coupled with AH coupled with Writ of the merciful and selfless daring… Guard HPS is fine. Warrior HPS is ridiculous because they aren’t sacrificing much to get a ton of healing… guardians sacrifice all damage to get their amazing heals.

Guardians don’t sacrifice as much to get a ton of damage, they don’t sacrifice heavy defense like Warriors have to, to get high DPS. They’re damage is build straight into their tanking tree. 0/0/30/0/0.

Im curious as to wtf you are smoking to say guards dont sacrifice a lot of defense to go offensive? IF WE want to be ANYWHERE near as effective we do… with the LOWEST HP… lol you must be smoking something.

WARRIORS do not sacrifce a lot and there stun build does a kitten ton of damage if it hits you… PLUS you can see guardians kitten comin a mile away.. thats why most play asura.

You can use it as a good damage tool.. Traited right you can hit squishies for like 5k easy on 2. It’s still viable people who say it isnt just don’t know what guards are capable of. I have a dps guard and can 1v1 almost any class except a good mes.. they usually win 1v1s if they are skilled.

Don’t let them tell you how to play. Play how YOU want to play and kitten the rest bro!

What about if they had maps kinda like LOL.. where you had lanes? I dunno throwin ideas on how to increase playbase and fun factor.. b/c you are right 1 map mode is boring.

They were the top 16 teams, so getting there had to take a fair amount of skill. End result this is the best sPvP team in Guild Wars and they have my congrats.

If you want the game to grow and continue you need to make the SPVP portion of the game free to play without having to buy the game. I mean how else are you going to grow the game. You say it is growing but i don’t really see it. You have 1 map mode, broken leader boards and you do not tell us what your plan is at all. I see the same people almost daily. You need to make the game free to play (no purchase necessary) to play spvp or you will just keep falling lower and lower on the spvp scale of things.

I know there is a lot you are “trying” to do atm but this should be a top thing. It does not cost you anything and those of us who bought it at release have gotten our money out of it. It’s time for you to stop with the “free weekend trials” and open it up (just the spvp part) I know i am not the only one here who thinks this is a good way to grow the player base for the spvp part.

And for those that just bought it say within a week or 2 could get say 600 gems for there trouble so they don’t feel like they are getting ripped off. You already give 400 gems away for achievement. That way those that get the 600 can get a perma finisher and keep them in the game longer, more incentive to play.

I am curious as to the gear sets it gives.. As i am still about 11 lvls from it i am just curious whats in store for when i get there. Can anyone who is that rank or know someone that rank confirm the 3 sets we get and the wep sets we get from shark? It’s a little to late for that Anet. Damage is done those of us who DID it legitimately are really F n kitten ed at you right now. REALLY REALLY kitten es me off you guys take this long to fix pvp but if it was pve it would be fixed next freakin day.

10k glory a game… they all go to skyhammer in mid underneath all hit each other then fall down, rinse repeat easy 10k a hour. Specially if it is 8v8 think about it. 15 a kill x8 is 120 per death. if they let the match go out the whole time thats a easy 5k… maybe a match.

1. Thief- stealth
2. Ele- Mist form
3. Necro can get you with elite
4. War-3 down state.

I mean these are by far the safest ways to down people in the game. I dont think stealth stomp is op. I honestly think ele stomp is op if you are comparing. But then again the cool down negates the fact that it is op. So i think they are all fine. Call for team or be near then next time you go down to a thief.

A few wrong things here

Have you mastered all professions? If not why are you asserting which is the easiest to master? Warrior’s one of the easiest to learn, true, but so are the other class with easy to use spam builds like thief, ranger and necromancer. Warrior simply has the dubious distinction of countering the other spam builds.

Invulnerable stomps are great sometimes but keep in mind that they don’t work on thief and mesmer at all. If anything the best stomper in the game is mesmer, with lowest CD invulnerability, instant stealth skills, and the ability to blink on top of a thief.

Pretty much mastered all but engi and ranger and warrior. I refuse to play ranger/warrior b/c of the skill cap and all the people that play it. And engi i just never can get a grasp of it. Other than that yep I pretty much have mastered every thing there is to know about the other professions. Played SPvP since release only took 2 months off of the game to PVE, other than that i know the other classes pretty kitten well.

Also thief has the highest skill cap in game next to necro (to be played well).

I use ogre runes with zerker trinket. If you want to use soilders thats ok i guess. I also use force in staff and i run d/d fire sigil in one and bloodlust in the other.. utilities i use Well of suffering, spectral grasp and Spectral armor that i can swap out for spectral walk if i need.. Try it and have fun

Lich for for elite i almost forgot.. It does around 5k and all i do is spam 1 while in it.. really only thing worth using in lich form.

I love this map on my guard/necro. I like to see how many 4s i can get or how many fears i can get off the cannon. Im currently at 8 for a match. I hope to hit 10 someday. :p

Down state 3 on ranger, even if pet is dead they can still revive faster than i can dps them down.. THAT is op as kitten!

Simple way to fix 4v5s like i said in another post. Game pauses for both sides. Anotehr solo Q is pulled into the match. The game counts down from 10 and play is resumed. Easy fix and will solve the problem.

I was ranked 60~ on EU solo q. I only say that to counter any high tier doesn’t get dc’s/4v5s etc comments.

3 matches in a row during EU prime time. 4v5. skyhammer true 4v5 as they never showed. another skyhammer where someone dc’d and match started 150-0. they came back online we only lost 500-480… Guess who was suppose to win that? Next round was a 400-350 double cap and neutral in our favor (we were the 400) got a dc…. and lost 500-470… Guess who should of won that….

WTF srsly? My rank tanked over 250 places. This is kittened. Who can even STAND TO PLAY when more matches than not are 500-100 blow-outs. rank 11’s in top tier solo q’s (had that too. Guess who lost that round as well…) Like srsly… Everyone knows this game isn’t competitive but its beyond fun at this point as most matches aren’t remotely close.

Screw fixing the balance fix the QoL.

4v5s, completely BS matchmaking, skyhammer leavers, and A-nets side of lag (which on multiple occasions after patches makes pvp un-playable for a few days).

Am I missing any QoL that makes this completely silly to even bother playing?

How is Anet supposed fix DCs during a match? The only thing they can fix is people leaving before a match. Do you want a match to end at a draw because someone DC’ed?

How anet fixes DC? the game pauses until another player is pulled into solo Q.. Problem solved.. then the game counts down from 10 and play resumes.. easy simple walla.

rank only means something to us b/c of the gear finishers… I love it when i go into WvW and do my tiger on my server and those that wvw all the time are like WHOA cool. I am just like wait till i get shark! (long time off) It’s the only thing that had any worth in this games pvp.. hotjoin is already a joke. this just made it that much worse.

TO FREAKIN LATE A NET! I busted my kitten off in both pve and pvp. I got my legendary in pve came back to bust my kitten in pvp and i am only 45. I took 2 months off at most of pvp. And now rank 50s already from people who do not even pvp as much as a lot of us. Those of us who have busted our kitten should get something out of this but we know you wont do anything to help the people who mostly/mainly pvp. You just took away the one thing that set someone apart that played spvp since the start. Finishers/gear… since this IS A cosmetic only GAME! Way to drop the ball.. HARD!

taking PUGS this much coordiantion is rediculous.. GJ on the fail anet. It should not take that much coordiantion of pugs to kill a boss in this game. until i can join my friends and not be in overflow b/c i cannot join them im not doing this boss. Need to fix your game Anet please.

That is the problem.. YOU should not have to be in TS organized to do this… thats just asinine on Anets part. What if people don’t have vent or TS… I should not in any ANY fashion take pugs that much coordination to kill him.. you are just going to drive more people away doing that.

No sorry no more teq. Not when it takes the coordination of a guild to bring him down.. Sorry but no thanks.. the teq fight should not require 100 peps to be in a voice channel to communicate.. That is just failed philosophy there.
