O just the fact i see multiple guards break out of it invul only to use book heal without getting knocked back… which is not right… Which in turn has been a game changer in multiple cases.

I think all QP’s should be reset due to all the svanir glitching and block bugs going around. The system YOU have in place Anet is flawed due to half the people use them. We all know they do so why not just reset them all on the 15th along with the bug/glitch fixes everyone is doing. THEN we will truly know who is the best and who is just block glitching/svanir glitching the game to win matches.

Legendary should be epic quests to get like they were in EQ. Man i remember those epic fights for my 1.0, my 1.5 and 2.0…. I was like kitten YEAH when i got it… this game i am like really.. money….. wtf…..

the QP system is flawed. Simply for the fact that those who buy or GET the game at x-mas will have to do so much catch up that it will almost be impossible for them to get the QP needed to get on the Leader boards… how is that fair to a newcomer. You don’t see LoL doing it that way. YOU THINK Anet woulda thought about this b4 making QP the standard for leaderboards… Flawed is flawed no matter how you look at it, the system in place is broken.

Yeah custom servers are a priority as it WILL MAKE YOU MONEY. I feel more are going to leave when the November patch hits. It is sad this game had potential to be amazing. YOU Anet said it was going to be now look, failing on the mark YOU set.

In my humble opinion the best quick-fix for the whole problem would be to introduce single/duo queue free tournaments (or just single games) with a strong matchmaking mechanic.

Great post and this part is a great idea. Simple, quick solution while they iron out a good ladder system. This way, queues will still be somewhat quick since many many people queue solo or with 1 other friend, and you won’t have to get throat punched in Khylo anymore!

The way you Q now John it is broken.. 8v8 hot join is garbage period…. We would like a little more feedback than you can already do this.. I thought you guys were going to gives us more info… or at least that is what i remember from previous posts…. you would give us more detail than you did. As it stands now we don’t hear crap from devs about what is going on with PVP.. Yet you hear all KINDS of crap about the new zone coming in on the 15th.. we get one map and no details at all for the pvp side of things… I thought this game was pvp oriented, not pve.. Yet PVP has broken crap since release and no future plans on a fix for the matchmaking system anytime soon.

We are constantly doing the same over and over. Same maps yet pve you can do a wide variety of things whether it be go for legendary to make weps ect. What do we get besides the same boring 500-500 point capture system and a broken paid/free tourney system? Teams like PZ are top on leader boards b/c they keep facing random kitten teams that they stomp to kitten and piss. Yet everything is working as intended right? Yeah it is i guess.

Other maps would be nice, diff types of gameplay would be nice. I.E. ctf and single player elem. Game is not made for 8v8 so 5v5 would be better.. paid tourney is to much atm for most people.. hopefully some of these get fixed soon. Other types would be awesome though.

Actually a lot of thiefs are taking advantage of the rendering bug atm. I mean it’s not there fault but it will be fixed soon. Then they cant insta gib you anymore after being hidden for forever and a day.

They are suppose to look at all downed state abilities. Some are OP some are Meh.

or a thief will continue to use the crappy bugs in game i.e. render bug to bring in 3 of his buddies 1 a war and kitten your face in under 3 sec and laugh, only to say i dunno what your talkin about. working as intended brah!

I am a guardian and I do not condone it but I have been INCREASINGLY seeing guards using the svanir/stun break/ swap elite skill and i have to say it’s sad. Anet need to look into fixing this fast. I find it funny that even after using invul/book heal they still cannot take the point… anyways Anet please look into this issue as we all know it is a growing one amonst guards. I report those i see doing it but that is not enough. Should hotfix it b/c a lot of paid tourney people say and do anything to win. Exploits and all.. Sad day to.

If you feel that burst theifs do not need a nerf then you are a bad thief and will not be able to handle the patch on the 15th… Burst Steal+bs thief is kitten OP atm.. And i play one.

I love the graphic glitch going on here in game Anet.. I love the fact that they go invs and YOUR graphic engine cant keep up with them coming out of stealth so they get 8 sec of invs instead of 4…. really Anet. I just saw a paid tourney use this to backstab and INSTANTLY kill bunkers and anyone else that came across there path. Seriously you need to fix this kitten asap. Its ruining the fun and breaking the game play down. I really think this needs to be hotfixed asap.!

O AND LETS NOT FORGET the graphic glitch where they can stay stealth and kill you with BS in 1 sec

How is it thiefs can steal fear from necro and it lasts 4sec but the necro fear doesn’t even last as long…. Same for when they steal from warriors… Seriously? 4 sec fear come on Anet really…..

Elixirs do that for them. They can trait for them to have cool down timer shorter. Also can trait into it so when they swap kits they get swiftness..soo perma swiftness.

Devs state it, that means it must be true… burst damage is to high on some classes. I find thiefs fine b/c they just die faster to me on my guard…. So dunno /shrug

8v8 should be saved for diff type of maps when they make them. i.e. CtF and a All vs ALL mode!

Yeah but more paid tourneys would pop.. WHY the hell say you can play paid now WHEN WE ALREADY KNEW THIS! We have been playing them well over a week now.. why say .. “O yeha btw you can play paid now” just stupid nonsense to post if it isn’t solo paid.. AND yes I would was tickets to go into paid… even when my team isn’t on.

It says we can do paid now.. I thought that ment we can SOLO Q paid… wth we already knew we could play paid, but I cannot solo Q paid atm.. why is this?

Was wondering why the devs are not commenting on the state of Paid vs free tourneys?

Free tourneys atm are like the following:
- Solo Q and get matched up with others only sometimes to get other PUG’d groups.
- pre-mades that destroy PUG groups 90% of the time.
- Fast Q times for the most part.

Paid are the following:
-Long Q times.
- Virtually NO instant Q. Normally having to wait 30min sometimes a HOUR to play 1 round.
- No solo Q. (If i want to waste my tickets and get 1 chest 1st round why not?)
- Steep learning curve. If you go from free to paid it is litterally night and day. Better bring all or go home. (which is fine)
- Qualifying Points which are utterly broke atm.(b/c only top teams will get them)

So why can’t Anet do something about this. People are getting sick and tired of waiting in long Q lines for paid to pop. How about you re-work how free and paid are played? How about you do the following suggestions:

- Can make the cost of paid go down to say 3. You could make them pay up front or 1 ticket after they win a round. This would make more people Q for paid as it wouldn’t be considered a waste of there gems/gold/ real life money.
- Have a Q for solo paid(up to 2 in a group maybe)
- have a group for pre-made groups only.
- Have it so the winnings are more to everyones liking. (ATM QP are worthless b/c lets face it most of the time top guilds are getting them)

I know a new ranking system is suppose to come into play, but the players are getting tired of waiting forever for paids to pop. Something needs to be done, and done soon or else a lot more people will give up on PVP. Please can we get some response as to what is going on.. B/c waiting till Nov 15th is really going to hurt the paid/free/spvp scene if something is not done soon.

What are your thoughts on this everyone. Leave your comments in HOPES that the devs will do something soon for us!

The way paid tourneys are right now the only ones even remotely going to get qualifying points are top end teams. Like PZ, TP, AC ect.. The entry fee is to steep for most teams and that hurts the Paid TPvP b/c only then the top teams are competing and getting QP. SO if Anet fixes the Entry fee for tickets to say OOOO 1 per round i.e. 1 for Nifheel, one for foefire and one for khylo it would be 3… So if if you make it to round 2 you pay a ticket ect.. That would help out teams a lot i think and make paid tourneys pop more.. but who knows.. Anet has there own theories I am sure.

I’m tired of wasting the hard earned money i make into exotics. Be it I create them or buy them. Then after I “hopefully” get a pre cursor i am after I got to spend ANOTHER 100g just to get the icy runes.. for the legendary. ON TOP of the other crap it takes to make the legendary. At the rate i am trying to get pre cursors i will never get my Legendary. kitten all the godskull hackers out there that made the prices of pre-cursors go up. You all can suck it. I wish Anet would comment on this matter but as it seems they won’t we are left to our own demise sadly… Yay /sarcasim

Legendary means nothing really atm. People can buy the pre-cursor with money from game sites. and all they really have to do is farm 200sp which takes a day maybe 2 to do if you grind them. As well as the million karma which does not take long with boosters. As well as the WvW tokens which is easy to get in zerg killings.. So literally you can get your epic in a week 2 tops if you got the money for it… So doesn’t really mean anything.

Stupid Idea till guesting system is working.. All the QQers are starting to get there way slowly.

Just make it so that each round costs 1 ticket.. you make it to next another and last another so in all 3 tickets instead of 5…. the way it is atm for tickets no one is wanting to Q b/c the prices are to high.

Looking to see what mesmers are running with the Paid Tourneys now. I am running a 20/20/0/0/30 build for shatter but curious if it is viable in TPvP specially paid ones now. I am semi new to mesmer but usually play Guard. Any advice from TPvP mesmers would be most helpful thank you!

Apparently we are not ment to DPS… but every other class is… Apparently that is what Anet wanted.. I picked guard b/c it fit my playstyle.. but after this i might just switch to a different class… if they are going to keep nerfing us to crap.. We won’t be able to do much dps if they keep this up at the rate Anet is going with guards.

It’s because every class complains about us.. and Anet wants to nerf us into the ground like Ret Palies b4 building us up again after they see they screwed up..

Why is it Guards get nerfed yet Mesmers don’t get hit as hard nor do thiefs…. makes no sense..

I find it funny that we get nerfed. I will learn around it but now that skill is pretty much worthless… soo yeah I’ll just replace it b/c 5 sec is crap compared to some other skills that we get.

Got a question about legendaries. Will we be able to eventually use them in SPvP? I heard a rumor that we might be able to but can we get a dev to confirm this. Like maybe have the skin available to use when we get it for pvp? Thanks

LOL rangers complaining about there auto attack being longer.. and stacks not as high?! Seriously in PvP you guys have the most outright troll auto attack there is.. Just stand slight to side and back and stack the kitten out of bleeds… I wish they would nerf how fast you stack bleeds to be honest.. b/c a ranger can stay at a distance and bleed me but once my condition removals are gone I am toast.

So I decided to follow a few well more like 8-10 around for a few minutes. They take the exact same path and have a set script that they are using. I have reported these people MANY times now and nothing. For your viewing pleasure Anet…

Can we please get something about this done. I know you say your working on it but more and more are popping up. I do a report then ignore them but when they ruin my game play by not allowing me to get a single hit on a mob it goes to far.

It’s not hard to tell a mesmer apart from his clones. For one the bad mesmer usually uses his bubble to guard himself. Two the bad mesmer runs around while the clones stay in place. Pro tip for mesmers, stand still and dont use your bubble unless the person is on your kitten That way you can effectivly kill people without them knowing which one is the real you. And for those looking for the real one.. just look for the idiot running around in circles.. It is usually the bad mesmer.

LoL guardian is not required for TPvP… Ran lots of tourneys without them and still won. Bunker Warrior is just as annoying. This is a funny forum post OP.

Hammer is not OP, Most are just bad players that get tunnel vision and cannot see the hammer swings.. Learn to avoid the 3rd swing and rest is cake sauce.. I don’t understand why all the bads post about this and that being OP. There is always a coutner to a build. So maybe your build isn’t designed for it. So what? Is a theif suppose to kill a necro… Not likely if the necro is spec’d right. Learn who you can and CAN’t take on 1v1 b4 you complain on forums. This would solve a lot of problems right there.

cry more about bunker guards. Same kitten can eb said for Warriors who bunker.. Jesus you people need to learn to play the class. A bunker can be beat easily. Just roll 2 over beat kitten out of him and roll on. If Anet listened to people on these forums the game would go to WOW kitten in a matter of months. I am glad they are not.. Learn to play and how to counter b4 you say mesmer thief guards are op.. For the love of god grow up and learn to counter them. I have over 450hrs logged into SPvP/TPvp alone as I do not play PvE and i can tell you they are easy to coutner if done right.

LoL Spectator mode is divided between blue and purple.. it’s not that hard to do the same for spectator mode in GW2

Don’t get me wrong I love SPvP/TPvP but maybe we can have it to where we are not colored? I mean we do have red over our names.. Maybe that is enough? I kinda like seeing different color schemes people have. If not cool if you did this awesome. I am happy either way. Just some armors look amazing when they have the right dyes on them and then bla when they are all blue/red. Just food for thought.

I can kill someone in under 15 seconds on my guard.. It is all about retaliation and 2h sword/shield… I destroy in a 2v1 … I have thoerycrafted a lot to get to the point i am and played over 200hrs in SPvP you can do amazing damage if specd right.. It is there just got to find it. Granted it is not as easy to find as 100 blades warrior but any good player can dodge that… they cant dodge burning!

There is more than just necro Minion build and i have not noticed any really bad pathing for ranger pets yet…. Dunno maybe it is just me but the game overall is amazing… Considering i have yet to reach 40 b/c i have over 200 hrs logged into SPvP and tourney.

I disagree with everything the OP has said.. SPvP is amazing thank you… To each there own but I think you just need to move on if it is not your cup of tea.

And keeping this game fun and entertaining. I love SPvP how people complain about OP this OP that.. I find it funny especially when they do not look at buffs. Asking how do you take down people so fast.. I love that this game. It takes SKILL and not the throw your face into it and monitor mode that WoW was.. Do what you are doing and continue to make a great game.

Remember people there are lots of builds out there people have yet to discover.. Just b/c one player beats you or you lose a DE doesn’t mean the way you have been doing things is RIGHT! Learn to adjust and adapt.. Then you will see how awesome and complex this game is..

I play guard in SPvP tourney and have no trouble closing gap.. #5 on your 2h sword is amazing. Leap is useful but the other utilites give other things as well.. Hold the line is a useful buff for this if you are 1v1 someone and they run.. you get 33% speed boost for 11 1/2 sec and a bunch of other stats as well. Explore your options. Anet has already stated there are builds in the game that we have yet to discover.. Explore!

actually 20 secs….. not really.. mesmers have arrow over head look for it.. Let the thief bleed out…. its simple or just go to stomp thief then go to him right away and bam stomp… it’s simple… down states are not un balanced….
