I would think this is a pretty drastic move on the part of the IOJ community but to be honest if the entire wvw community of a server left it would send a clear message to Anet. Just use good sense about where you all transfer, servers with off-hour coverage already have large poulations because of that and with everyone stacking in EB the ques could be brutal. Just as the title stated. What is Mag and Stormbuff and Crystal like? Do commanders use TS? Is there alot of blobbing. How is the roaming? Im looking to transfer from a lower tier.

What he said^ Mag’s NA is pretty stacked, we would much rather kill fight you. Plus trolls, even our gold spammers troll map chat on Mag, you probably wouldn’t like it here.

Pretty much what Spell said, plus they have had more server implosions and comebacks than any other server. It’s pretty unstable, the only consistent thing they have going for them is a SEA crew that kicks in doors while enemy NA players sleep.

Still a problem, guesting to another server is a workaround.

With the announcement of HoT many of our Tier 2 friends have returned to Maguuma and we are experiencing a WvW population resurgence that brings us close to what we had in Tier 2, we’ve been stuck in Tier 6 beating up on the same 3 servers for a month now, it’s not fun for them because they log on in the evening and own nothing and it’s not fun for us because no one will fight us. I Submit to you that your rating system needs some fine tuning, both with the PPT metric and the glicko sytem, a server that wins a metchup by over 150k points should be locked out of that tier for a period of time (this means you all better figure out what to do about there being four tier 2 NA servers) . So if you want to know what to do a trial run with first it’s adjustments to the PPT and Glicko, once a solution is found for that alot of these other issues will work themselves out.

Kalkz was on Maguuma, he claimed he loved it there, he still left, rest assured he will not stay on his new server long, I would not advise the funding of his transfer.

Custom chat channels is something I have thought we needed since before launch. Also megaservers was a great idea and it needed to be done, but servers have lost some of their individuality since then and if you call for help in WvW currently you subject yourself to alot of grief from players on other servers. Players should not have to sift through 12 lines of “hur hur Tarnished Coast sux” “Dragonbrand so bad” “F**k Maguuma” to get something relevant from chat when they ask for help in WvW. Custom chat channels WORK in other games, good examples are DDO and World of Warcraft. Simple solution, give us custom chat channels. This would also cut back on guild strains since this pretty much would make guild alliances a real thing in GW2

Nope because any time someone from another server tries to contact Yaks through their forums their application is denied by one of your power-hungry buttmad nerds that are running your forums, the attempt has been made to contact you and the guilds I heard from have decided that contacting you is not important anyway so they are transferring.

Saiyr said Mag mumble and forums will stay up, he has no expectation of closing them any time soon. I’m not so sure T3 or T4 is going to work because we have almost no consistent militia commanders, just a few that can get on and help out at various times. Unless/until we get a couple of consistent militia commanders we are reliant on the 2 or 3 guilds that remain.

basically every server below Fort Aspenwood has serious coverage gaps at one time of day or other. Even FA can have weak coverage at times.

Upon recent discussion amongst the Maguuma community we have determined that in order to stay competive in our tier we should reach out and try to recruit some allies. Currently we are stable rating-wise in tier 2 but need some specific things to help keep the game fun for everyone and ensure that we remain a solid tier 2 server.

1. Most needed right now is one or two 15-25 man Oceanic timeslot guilds, you must like to fight, Sea of Sorrows is a server we face most of the time and they have a very healthy OCX population, YOU WILL BE GUARANTEED FIGHTS IN THIS TIMESLOT as long as SoS remains in Tier 2

2. PPT/Defense focused guild, to say most of Maguuma doesnt care about the scoreboard is pretty accurate, our guilds want fights and dont like to share, the scoreboard is only a tool,,, but to stay competitive in tier 2 we need PPT/Defense oriented guilds in any timeslot since our tiermates Sea of Sorrows and Fort Aspenwood have MANY PPT nerds, you would have fun trying to out-strategize them and you would get to play alongside some of some of the deadliest open-field and GvG guilds in the game, you would not be fighting alone, we have ppt focused players like the guild BUS and guilds that would help defend in a crisis like SiX. It would take very little time to make your mark as a serious PPT guild here, even our figthing and GvG guilds know this.

3. OCX militia commanders. We have OCX and late NA players who are in good WvW guilds, that play during off-raid hours, all we need is good leadership, throw your tag on and be competent, you can and will get a map blob if you want it.

4. Skilled EU commanders/drivers… Maguuma has an EU timeslot presence competitive with ANY server NA, unfortunately our main EU commander Nachonix is going to be playing alot less soon due to school obligations. Again here, throw your tag up and be competent you will get many tough dudes to fight with. In addition to that a skilled EU guild would flourish here with very good recruitment opportunities and serious fights against guilds on FA and SoS like BOMB and Pain.

5. Open field guilds in OCX/EU/SEA timeslots look for a fight, you will not have to look far. You could more than likely get a good gvg in once or twice a week as well.

6. SEA players/militia commanders. Amongst the ranks of our SEA community are same outstanding SEA guilds, such as ETA, TED and Olaf… they are always recruiting

I’m not going to lie, Maguuma know;s how to have fun and that is our focus but accountability is a big deal here. if you make a mistake it will probably be pointed out so that you can learn and grow, we do not hold players’ hands, but our community watches each other’s back, will help out and it is not nearly as toxic as people from other servers has portrayed it to be. Ask for help or advice, you will get it, just dont be an idiot and repeat your mistakes.

Roamers/scouts havoc groups and 5-mans, the fights will find you and you will have tough havoc guilds like lion to square off against.

We cannot fund transfers but we can support in any way possible once you have transferred, this includes influence for your guild and recruiting. You must want to be here.

NA GvG and fighting guilds currently struggle to find challenging fights, DO NOT come here if you are an NA GvG or open-field guild, our maps are full of these types of guilds and they do not like to share.

We have a 500 slot community mumble that anyone is welcome on and guilds that make a contribution in wvw can ask for their own channel, one of my most recent memories is seeing 211 players logged on during NA primetime.

If you are on SoS and want to take your play to the next level this is your opportunity to get into a guild that is fighting some of the scariest guilds in the game, you will find great challenge in fighting against the guilds that Fang faces,,, but more importantly you will learn from those fights at exponential levels. If you play SEA timeslot there is alot of fun to be had here,,, MESSAGE OLAF AND ASK HIM! You can stay or transfer to some other server/guild and be just another speck in the blob or you can come to Maguuma, join Olaf and accept a real challenge, not for the feint of heart. Olaf, up to your armpits in SoS, Dragonbrand and bags all day errday.

Maul Ze Dong is the most intense driver on Maguuma, very focused, and KH is OMGWTF fun to run with. Like seriously you would have to get naked to have more fun then this,, not an exaggeration.

Going to throw this out here as a big up for Olaf and his crew, it was a big step for them to come to Maguuma knowing that we had no SEA crew and that they had no backup from anyone but a few late night/early morning players, that is what we in Texas call some big ‘ol hairy cohones, since then we’ve gained a couple guilds in our SEA/OCX timeslots and made alot of progress as a server and it’s partially thanks to Olaf. Olaf is out there pretty much every night up to his armpits in SoS and Dragonbrand and that’s just the beginning as Friday we’re expected to do our second stay in gold league and Olaf faces bigger challenges then ever before. If you like the idea of fighting superior numbers and winning,,, if this sounds like a challenge for you and you play during SEA time contact Olaf.

I feel sorry for Sbi, it seems that there are really Seven tier 2/1 guilds.
So one always ends up in t3. And dominates. good for sbi for staying up there.
However, if you ever fell to t4 you would find it boring, you would destroy t4 as hard as fort aspenwood is destroying t3.

Dont feel sorry for SBI, they love what they are doing. Most other servers would have gotten tired of getting pooped on by now and deliberately tanked out of their tier, but SBI keeps fighting. We are going into season and Anet has not addressed this issue, weekly T3 is a blowout and ANet has done NOTHING to bring about balance for Tier3, now silver league will spend 9 weeks getting roflstomped by FA, Maguuma or Dragonbrand. Anyway SBI go there, it’s a server with pretty close to unbreakable morale and you will get to kill tons of terrible FA players during season 2.

Sounds like someone’s buttmad about people leaving their boring kitten server and making up kitten as they go along, if you are talking about Meow (which is the ONLY guild that moved here from FA) they got started on Northern Shiverpeaks with a few people on Maguuma, communication and friendship has been there between Meow and some of our guys since launch. GvG is alive and growing on Mag/T2. Heck, even our pugs are doing it. Just today we had a Pug vs Pug 20v20 scrimmage.

We still need some more SEA/OCX love to maybe spark some balance in T2. I’d also like more competent and consistent militia

I was there for the arranged PugVsPug it was quite a bit of fun, it tickles me to think that our militia is honing their skills in such a way that at one point militia in Tier 2 could very possibly roll right over an organized guild group with equal numbers. It’s challenging and it’s fun. OXC/SEA and Eu players, to hell with blobs and to hell with empty maps, join us in the most fun tier NA.

We have a server wide voice com (Mumble) and a pretty tight-knit and skilled community with very little drama. We have had a couple weekends where our NA guilds hold a 6am raid time to help and run with our SEA guilds, this has been alot of fun and will probably continue. We could use 1 more OCX and 1 more SEA guild (small to medium in size) and we have militia commanders for those time slots so individual OCX/SEA players are welcome to join us. Dragonbrand has a consistent, strong and stable SEA crew and right now is in the most need of NA guilds as far as balancing individual server population. You would have the most impact there.

All we’re trying to say is that stop recruiting for MAg on the SBI thread, go to your own thread or just speak to individual SEA players and recruit them to VR and KH to make VR oceanic/SEA. Recruiting guilds isn’t the only way to improve coverage.

I’m pretty sure SBI fired the first shot on this one, the post was made on OUR recruitment thread first, it was reported and deleted from the thread after Duke made his post, you cant blame some of our people for being annoyed and the OP should have probably handled it the same way, Mag players are certainly not strangers to getting infractions. Not one time this entire week have I see a single DB fighting SBI so the 3am server crowd thing is crap Olaf, NNK and TFV enter our areas and go straight for doors and dont seek fights at all… Looking forward to next week, if there are better fights in NA prime.

NA Guilds go to SBI, SEA/OCX guilds come to Mag, population balance, everyone is happy. Then matches against SBI might not suck/be boring.

All we need is a small to medium OCX/SEA crew to plant us firmly in tier 2, your fights will include SoS guilds, Tarnished Coast guilds, Fort Aspenwood guilds and much more if we can get into gold league a second time (pretty much guaranteed if we get a night crew) If you like field fights and/or GvGs and play during OCX/SEA Maguuma supports these aspects of the game 110% and is perfect for you. Maguuma, we have militia up to and including 1-2 qued maps in the EU time slot (depends on commander coverage) and only 1 NA commander that gets on a few times a week to lead them due to work. Our NA guilds are incredibly solid and our pubbies will break up into groups and work on multiple objective if you ask them, they dont always “blob” a map. Maguuma could be a REALLY GOOD fit for you,,, you could have alot of fun here.

Yak’s seem to be “stuck” in Tier 3 with Maguuma. Go to Yaks please,, the #magswag needs good fights. GVG and open-field is very strong in this tier. List of guilds you would be fighting if you were on Yak’s Bend, youtube any of these guilds and see if you would like to play at this level, BAEGS, Reticle, Retribution, Violent Resolution, Pyro, Arkham, Terror, KH just to name a few.

Honestly, the only reason why Mag ever attacks your keeps is to force the people inside to fight us. If you want to guarantee your structure’s safety, just constantly fight us open-field.

PPT or not when we have 18 omegas ready to throw at FA’s EB keep and cant get TC out of our buttocks long enough to move them because they are so dead-set on karma training a wooden stonemist it certainly appears that either TCs EB commander is too stupid to double-team, too stupid to stay out of our way or is clearly working with FA. This happened last night, TC knew the golems were on the map and would not stay out of our kitten long enough for us to make it work. There really doesnt need to be a double-team against FA there just needs to be more common sense used.

PSA and Little-known fact about Maguuma if we have nothing else on reset day we resupply and protect the NN camp in our BL and have our “meeting” for the next match, to the HcH guys +pugs coming there today: Karma train all you want in our BL, the match is decided, we draw the line with our NN camp, you will just get farmed by our whole server.
