Good day ya’ll. Thanks for the positive feedback concerning other Guild Wars 2 vs. other MMO’s. I have time to get very specific, and again it just “feels” to me like ArenaNet develops the game thoughtfully and persistently. It is actually meaningful to play. It is meaningful to spend money on because we see the developers sacrificing short-term profits to avoid one of the ultimate game-killers, “pay-to-win”. I can play casually, or I can play hardcore. I can play dress-up, or I can grind out three wins in ranked PVP (or both at the same time)! Nothing I’ve done in-game has become obsolete (remember in certain other MMO’s spending your “life-savings” on shoulder-pads that got out-dated by the latest patch). I can even be extra-specific here. Remember those exotics you worked so hard for three years ago? You can still wear them and play on high level (yes, yes, we all like to think we need our ascended-level gear). So once again thanks developers and players alike!

ArenaNet, you win my personal award, Most Polished MMO 2012 – 2016. I just came back from a three month Internet hiatus to find the game still active and being worked on, and while I feel if there were only more players, a lot more money could be made, I want ya’ll at Anet to know that I have never played an MMO that is as rewarding as this one. Gotta go!

Greetings World vs. World Warriors,
I am an on-again-off-again player in the off-again state. My characters were on Ehmry Bay since launch, my favorite of which was named Eric Trueblood. Last I played was the onset of the WvW server-team-combinations. How’s the community? How’s the player base? If any old Ehmry buddies catch this post I would especially love to hear from ya’ll.
Knowingly Nostalgic,
-Eric
Hey GW2 community, I am an experience Eastern Time player looking for a Spirit Vale raid group or guild. Experience with the Vale Guardian. I have 3 mostly ascended 80’s. I would prefer to attend on my condition Dragon hunter. I also have a geared power revenant and cele Tempest. Please send my account a mail if I might fit your needs.
-Eric
ANet: HoT is great. Be cautious of listening to all the hype here because your player-base is fickle. Hopefully you’re making enough money to continue making great content.
Community: Keep your spirits up. Please be open to new ideas both from ANet and other players. Get out of the house if you’re like me and play obsessively.
That is all,
Eric
#Heart of Thorns is terrific, nearly flawless release.
I think class balance is great.
I think the economy is healthier (no, I didn’t say everything is cheap… only more balanced).
I am pleased with all the new content… Maguuma Jungle, Borderlands, Stronghold, Revenant, Masteries.
Issues:
I think the synthesizers are missing in the borderlands SW tower.
I believe there are some map completion issues, specifically I got at least 1 Hero Point that still shows incomplete on my world map.
Exploits:
It is possible to walk over one of the barricades at SW tower.
Thanks ANet! Thanks #GW2HOT community!

Dear Guild Wars 2 Guardian Junkies,
Please respond with information or helpful ideas on carrion vs. rabid armor for a block-burn build.
I run celestial trinkets for all builds as a matter of gear-oriented efficiency. I was running all celestial armor too (with meditations), and since it’s ascended I would like to change it in the Mystic Forge to rabid or carrion stats. It’s a strong build in all formats, and I have even tested a Dragonhunter-burn build, which seemed like a fun alternative using the same gear.
Shout out to Anet for all the hard work… less than 48 hours ’til HOT launch!
Sincerely,
Eric
Armor presets have crossed my mind, but the only way I can really think of to implement it is to completely remove “bound” items out of inventory into a special storage area. This is due to complications involving bag slots and overlapping gear sets. In other words, how would a player find his PvP staff to add to a new PvE set if it was stuck in PvP-land, or say the staff got transferred out of the players bags, etc.
On the real though, I am impressed with the new PvE, WvW, and PvP build templates. Thanks for adding them, Anet.
-Eric
Hey Anet/GW2 community,
I posted on the 2nd about being upset over verbal abuse, and got a lot of helpful responses (most of which add up to “block and move on”). I wanted both Anet and the community to know that I am back into the game and looking forward to HOT.
Concerning the game itself I have always enjoyed it (over 5.2k hours logged). And yes Anet I bought some more gems. Thank you all for the good times together.
Sincerely,
Eric
I am writing this post in response to rampant verbal abuse I have received lately in Guild Wars 2. Yes, some of you may be surprised to learn that some people have emotions other than bitter malice. It hurts when trolls and all forms of chronically unhappy people make vicious personal attacks and go out of their way to make other people miserable. I know “haters gonna hate.” as the saying goes, but I encourage everyone who reads this to think twice about the reasons why we mistreat our fellow human beings, and how easy it is to pretend that we’re not affecting other people’s lives when we interact with them from behind a computer screen.
That said, in a moderated environment such as a privately purchased account, i.e. a game account, I find it exceptionally disturbing that offenders are not punished. Of course I’m guessing it’s about money. After all, Arenanet, you can’t profit off someone when that person is banned. Consider this a harbinger of where the community is taking the game. I am presently rather annoyed that I prepurchased Heart of Thrones, as quitting the game will be that much more disappointing, should I find the motivation to stay away. You will not be getting any more of my money, unless things change.
In parting, to everyone, including myself, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We’re all in this together.
Sincerely,
Eric
Greetings dedicated Ehmry Bay citizens, or potential transfers. The [END] is in sight! If you are more of a solo player, you’ll be right at home here; however, as guild leader I hope to see all our players co-operating. We’ve had online 4 people online at once, and we’re researching the Guild Bounty unlock, so we need a few more to make the leap into earning merits. Wars and Rumors of Wars needs you! Whisper or send me an in-game mail if you’re interested.
I just checked in with all the responses to date. A lot of good ideas, and to clarify, I’m looking for more incentive to co-operate with new people as well as greater challenges, thus my promotion of a random element, or selections (as was suggested in a response). And yeah, Anet, please, dungeons or fractals.
-Eric
Anet, what would happen if you were to make the Dailies random (within subsets) for each player? I feel like this would be more challenging for me as a player, and it would encourage more in-game cooperation.
Thanks for listening,
Eric
Why is this such a big deal?
Anet, I enjoy this event. I think it’s fun. I do not understand why people play a portion of the game they don’t enjoy and then complain with nearly no end while doing it. Do something else. I didn’t like Golem Week, so I avoided WvW and enjoyed playing something else for the duration.
I see people write that they feel compelled somehow to earn the rewards, and thus they simply must grind them out. Well most rewards come with a price, in-game or out. No one told these folks they are required to earn these.
Thanks for all the fun, challenging, and rewarding game, Anet.
Ehmry Bay [NA] startup guild looking for members. Primary focus on WvW. 18+. Please bring a positive attitude. Join this up and coming server.
Whisper me in-game.
Hey guys, long time guardian (since day 1) here to ask for a more dynamic build selection. One build in particular I’ve toyed with for the last 32 months is an aegis, blocking build. There are precisely 7 major traits that can be selected to proc on block or aegis use. However, it feels like an afterthought from the devs every time I suit up to use it. I pick all 7 traits, use a focus (3 extra blocks), Shelter (2 seconds of block), runes of resistance (extra aegis), and who knows what else just to squeak by. No matter what stats I stack, I am so squishy.
Point being, I feel like there are about 2-3 viable builds with most classes I play. Perhaps this is due to peer pressure from the community. Perhaps no one effectively explores alternatives, or maybe 2-3 is plenty and I’m alone here. I hope this post comes to someone’s attention or at least sparks interest in other GW2 players to break the mold and start something fresh.
That said, it’s an addictive game and rather balanced I should say.
Thanks for your time,
Eric
I made a big mistake in my original post. I have since learned that WvW is still server based. I took a seven month GW2 hiatus, and so much had changed that I didn’t even recognize anyone. I apologize for that. I suppose the response that said that I had to have something worth fighting for before complaining about disinterest in WvW was an accurate assessment. Still it can be difficult to rally around my server because I don’t see these people in map chat or PVE play. Oh well, GW2 remains one of my all time favorites. Thanks for your responses, my fellow gamers.
Since megaserver implementation, at least for me, there is very little motivation to be involved in WvW. Any sense of dedication I had was drowned into a sea of seemingly endless unrelated players. Is there anything ArenaNet can do to resolve this sense of meaninglessness in the present state of WvW? Some way to band players together again in a concrete way? Victory does not feel like it used to.
Hello players. I was an avid GW2 junky for a year and took a break the same week the first WVW server tier brackets were put into place. I wonder if the community on my home server is still alive and well. Ehmry Bay. Are you an EBayer? My main’s name is Eric Trueblood. We had some good times. I actually feel like I’m trying to reach out to an old ex or something and knowing forums like these, her husband will answer. Please don’t hang up Mr. Big Man.
Long story short, if EBay is still happenin’, post about it.
Some ideas:
Options and Settings
Option for a contrast-based mouse cursor. I lose track of my cursor a lot.
Option for full-screen monitor selection on multiple-monitor based systems.
Skills and Mechanics
How about giving 1 class the ability to drop some kind of orbs that can be DPSed down the owner for some kind of massive heal?
Here’s an outlandish idea: what if necroes could pull 1 other player into a shadow world for a 1 on 1 duel.
Moving PBAOE-based combo fields!
Economy
Player trading? There’s gotta be a way to make it work.
That’s all I can think of for now. ArenaNet and NCSoft have done an amazing job to date!
Lightbearers Unlimited is casual guild on Ehmry Bay.
We seek active, adult players. That’s what will benefit our community. What do you, the player get out of it?
We’re low commitment. We try to keep guild perks rolling. We just finished unlocking Guild Bounty Missions. Now is a fantastic time to join if becoming an integral part of a comfortable community is something of interest. We have a privately operated TeamSpeak server, yet I feel it unnecessary to complicate matters with a guild website.
A little background about us. I’m Eric Trueblood, GL, and if you’re on EBay already you’ve probably seen me around. LU was founded in September, 2012 and eventually the decision was made to rebuild after a long hiatus. We currently have no commanders and would be happy to have a few around. PVX.
Send me a mail in-game if we suit you. See you soon!
Quick update, I found a solution. Just took a bit of help from Microsoft and HP. Apparently, with a HP Compaq L2206tm, I have to go to Windows 8 Control Panel —> Tablet PC Settings —> Setup, then tell the system which is my touchscreen. Touch input now registers on the correct display.
Only problem now is that because I play GW2 client in fullscreen, any desktop input on my extended display minimizes the game. Still waiting for a solution from Microsoft on that one I guess.
Hello there. I am writing this thread in regards to running the Guild Wars 2 client on Windows 8 platform in full screen on a dual monitor system. I want one of two results. Either the developers simply add a setting which allows for full screen monitor selection, or Microsoft redesigns there input system to fix the issue where touch input on an extended desktop registers as input on the primary desktop. Both of these fixes seem overlooked. My touchscreen is the smaller of my two monitors, resulting in this post and hours of troubleshooting. To anyone looking to add a touchscreen monitor to their PC, be advised! If you know of a setting or software solution to this problem, your help is requested. Thanks.
Just a quick thank you to the developers for keeping bots out of the game. I haven’t seen many in weeks. I may not understand the depth to which you all go to do this, or what it means for ArenaNet, but I do know that as a purist player, I appreciate it.
Also many thanks for all the hard work with the updates, I’m looking forward to today’s. Let’s keep GW2 alive and healthy.
