Power reapers in fractals?

I am playing Berserker’s Power Reaper with Axe/Dagger and Staff for that 1200 range and i do T4s daily without any problem.
Spite / Reaper the perma traits and I change between Blood/Soul reaping depending on the situation.
Transfusion has saved too many runs on last boss on 100 Fractal and Mai Trin Fract.

How would you redesign the necromancer?

I agree that Necro doesn’t need an overhaul but rather an improvement and some fixes.
Some changes/fixes/proposals:

*Remove passive Life Force degeneration during shroud.

*Make Plague elite and aura and not a transformation.

*Finally decide on how life leech should work in the game power/healing mechanics.

*Have Necro be able to heal party members from life steal power attacks or condi attacks (curses last trait).

*Torment while nice for PvP it needs to be more meaningful in PvE.

*Axe 1 is a joke (lol vulnerability).

*Make debuffing in raids more meaningful.

*An elite well that has actual boundaries traping the victims within.

*Vanilla shroud F1 – Reaper Shroud F2.

I like staff as a hybrid / utility weapon that goes along with any primary weapon combo.
I would like some improvements on the auto attack, especially some indirect damage increase via a mechanic and more speed on it. And staff 2 might need some more bleed to it.

Hello necro forum, I recently came back after some time away and got into HoT right away. I focused on completing my core HoT masteries and the Kryta ones.
Now I want to finish my ascended chest from way back then.
For my power build I finished my power set since I had only chest/gloves missing.

For my condi set I am a bit confused. Is Viper the new best stat choice for Condi necro? I mostly care for Fractals and Pve in general and a bit of WvW.
I already have a full set of Rabid jewelry, the ascended wand from Teq and an ascended chest piece.
What is the best way to go at this moment since it will be a significant investment gold,time and material wise.

Full zerk with axe/dagger and dagger/empty. 6/2/0/0/6 standard ds build .

Consume condis, signet of spite,WoD,speed signet.

phase 1 on d/d spam d2 for extra healing while moving around.before throwing last crystal on her do well of darkness and let the blinded shadows explode to clear the area a bit.
Throw last crystal and change to axe.
a quick axe 2 +3 pop lich form and aa. lice 3 to slow her down and gain distance when needed, lich 5 to remove criple when needed.run around in circles and use dodge only on key situtations to avoid big aoe.

Why have icd on sustain sources when there is none on damage healing ones?
A lot of interesting ideas here, but what actually makes me sad is that quite a few of them are a proposed evolution and a fix to some broken skill we already have.

There is huge potential in the life stealing department but it needs to be changed imo from how it currently works.
Instead of true damage / fixed healing (power/healing) it needs to be a base % life steal per attack that scales with healing power. eg 10% +1%/100 hp or something like that.And a GM blood trait that shares this life steal with our party members ( 4 closest allies when out of a party).

VP should be baseline.I never really got why we loose lf while walking in ds.
Or even better we should not have DS degenerate when idle in it.We can have Life Blast cost some lifeforce to avoid perma lb spam, since the other abilities have CDs.

Spectral grasp is awsome when i Works which is like 30% of the time.
Not only does it fail due to bad pathing of the projectile but most of the times it doesnt pull the target when he is in the mid of some animations while fighting.

It needs to be made 100% reliable , aside from blockin,blinds, ect and the cd need to be way lower if we are too keep our snail speed.

Necro axe is terrible please change it.

Axe 2 imo doesn’t need more dmg as in higher numbers. But it could get some Extra flavour via other means.
For example to be able to keep channeling for dmg up to 1200 range but need to be in 600 to start the cast. since we are slower than molasses in in january and all.

Axe 3 needs blast finisher , a lower cd , and a trait to increase # boons removed. Master spite Line would be the place for it.

It’s more time effective to farm for gold and use the TP than farm the mats ( for example) to make a legendary or an ascended ect .Imo there should be a balance between the 2 methods and not such a drastic difference.
Then only thing seriously overpriced in the TP are finished legendaries and precursors and that can be fixed too. Starting by making legendaries acc bound on craft.

Zerker and Rabid are the 2 most solid options imo for Necro.

On borderlands i have LB just randomly dissapear as if it was hiting some pebbles on the ground.
Also i get a lot of out of range thingy.Especially on Svanir shaman and Ulgoth unless they ahve some shield that causes it.

Axe doesn’t need more range it needs some other changes.

Axe 1 needs to be able to cleave multiple foes and increase a tiny bit the damage OR add some more vulnerability OR lower the skill delay after the 2nd slash.

Axe 2 is fine .

Axe 3 needs to be a blast finisher and tone down a bit the cd.

And axe off hand would be a very nice adition too at some point.

There lots of things that can be done to make things better.
Let us people set the price we want to sell our gems thus increasing the value GEMS have on currency change.
Atm it’s better to farm some gold and buy the gems you need to buy new item X ob BLTC than spend your $$ on gems to get the gold you need ingame to buy mats , skins , w/e.

Make complete legendaries acc bound , and give alternative means on acquiring precursors that are also acc bound thus having 2 types of precursors ( acc and non acc bound).

Mathematically if the circle that the original meteors fall has a radius of 360 and a a single meteor blast has a radius of 180 when it lands, when and if said meteor lands at the very end of the 360 circle have of the 180 blast (90) will be inside the original circle and the other half outside.
Given that this can happen on all sides of the 360 circle the true radius potential would be 90+360+90=520 radius.
Emphasis on potential radius since the meteor stones fall in random place within the circle of the skill.

Moa Achievement doesn’t work even in overflow. I did it 3 times and didn’t get the achi and neither have a lot other people.

Oh and while you’re answering for me, when you were at the design meeting where the Acolyte event was created, can you please explain what, specifically, the devs intended? I mean, since you know their intentions you were obviously there, right?

Lastly, you seem to think skipping trash mobs is skipping the challenge. What if, and this is a crazy thought, skipping some mobs is actually more challenging than fighting them, and thus a greater demonstration of skill?

I’m speechless…
Are we doing a low % metroid speedrun here? Or are we playing an mmo?
And if you are happy that your Elite content in gw2 is to speed run with 4wars and a mez be my guest. It sure aint mine though.

And yes im 100% positive that the devs didn’t intend for us to just make mobs evade on the acolyte event of cof1 until the rest acolyte wave spawns.

Most sellers are not the awsome soloers that solo/duo a dungeon and then sell empty spots for Gs.They kick players out that help them and then sell their spots.A guildmate of mine had that happen to him on a fractals 40+ run.

And even in the case of “legit” selling some kind of mechanic eploit is used. Either for skipping or making the boss stack on low % while the buyer enlistment goes on.

Also if ANET is ok for promoting run selling that is just a lazy excuse for not FIXING the dungeons so they are less of a chore (especially Arah) and more of a fun thing to do without loosing the challenge element.

Isn't it an easy fix?

The new healing signet has the potential to give party support through healing/damage but the icd makes it useless (for the active)

What makes me wonder is why is siphoning tied with both healing and damaging hence with 2 stats and is not implemented as a straight up leech?

i managed to gather the resources to get a full ascended set of jewelry.No my big dilema is which one to get first.Rabid or Zerk ones?
My main interest is dungeons-fracts and wvw (runing with zerk mostly)

Which one is “worth” it more to get first and will give me more milage?
Any sugestions are welcomed.

Incinerator and Frostfang look awsome on Necro.
Although I’ld prefer if the legendary just transformed the projectiles skills to a fiery/icy version rather than throwing the weapon itself.

Every CC can be chained.The difference in fear is that it doesn’t need to be cast in succession like other CCs.
That is also good and bad.Because if you cast all your fears and stack its duration on the spot it can be broken in a single skill.
When casting in succession you need/waste multiple skill to get out and the frustration is even greater.

Patch notes for August 6th, 2013:
Death Shroud Changes:
We have decided to make much needed changes to Death Shroud by increasing the degeneration rate by 6%, lowering doom duration to 1 second, and removing Tainted Shackles from Death Shroud altogether.
The Necromancer health pool will be lowered to the lowest tier to compensate for their ability to have a second health bar in Death Shroud.
Terror: Reduced the damage by an additional 17%. Added a mechanic that allows Terror to be reflected to the user.
Dhuumfire: Reduced the duration by another 50%, increased the cool down to 15 seconds.
Chill: Have reworked the duration on all skills in the Necromancer line to have a duration of 2 seconds.
Weakness: Have removed weakness from all skills in the Necromancer lines.
Bleed: Have lowered the duration on all skills in the Necromancer line by 50%.

+1 to changes.Also make necros play on their own overflows so the rest of the community is safe.

The pve elitism is not the elitists’ fault at all it is Arena net’s solely.
Trying to escape the holy trinity they allready enforced it in another form.
All dungeon mechanics favour certain proffessions at some point or another making other proffession less favourable or even undesireable.
Trinity never left.

Other than 1 which is awsome when it hits the rest of the skills are meh imo.
The minnions are nice but most times they forget they need to suicide attack especially when you start to utilize the 1200 range of 1.

2 needs more duration and/or stacks of vulnerability.

3 has some issues on landing especially on pve.On pvp when the oporition is in your face it lands quite better.

5 is gimmick of staff 4 .It’s not a bad skill but i would like to see something more “special”

Also imo stability that comes with a transformation , no matter the class, should be bound to the form and not be a normal stability buff.

I will make no comment on the horrible camera while on lich form ……

The biggest nerf is that we now need to have quite a bit of lifeforce to mitigate i high incoming attack.
With 10-25% life force you could negate a big attack if you could see it coming.
We can still jump from the highest of places with spectra walk at least.

I just don’t know what deathshroud clearly is for us Necro’s.
It adds more to dps than defence and/or atrition at the moment.

Plague is suited mainly for condi builds but also offers some mass cc in the form of constant blind (chill) or weakness.
Lich form is mainly for power heavy builds and provides some impressive numbers with a higher dps than a full dmg life blast on a 30/10/0/0/30 build.
Flesh golem is a pet (duh!) which provide a constant dps that is irelevant from your focus, (power or condi) with an active skill that has high damage and CC on the form of knockdown.

Although Plague and Lich form are a bit oriented , for dps, on condi / power that doeswn’t mean that you shouldn’t use them on builds focues on the other type of damage.E.G. Lich on condi build and plague on power builds to spice things up a bit.

The greatest fault , in mechanics, for this Terror is the way bleeding stacks work.
-Will the game "know"which stacks are ours for how terror will work?
-Epidemic will also bring tons of qq especialy when aoe fears take place after a decent epidemic.

My 2nd objection is that curse become the mythical attrition trait line where we should be an attrition class.Not a class with an attrition trait tree.

Thumbs up for the idea (s) since without ideas and good feedback we go nowhere.

At what point beserk set doesn’t cut the deal?After lvl 30?
Going full condi with precision-condi dmg- toughness will be seurvival enough later on if zerker doesn’t quite do the job?

Axe 1 is fine. It gives me some free stacks of Vuln on stuff while I’m waiting for Axe 2 to come off cooldown or for DS to come off cooldown. And it hits so fast it’s the only weapon I’d ever think of putting a Sigil of Frailty on (I know, L2P).

Actually it’s not even good for that.It has neither good dmg nor good vuln stacking.
Everything else in our arsenal is better than axe1 while waiting for axe2.
Even staff1 is a better auto which is slow as hell, at least it has aoe capabilities.

Axe #1 needs to be changed.

Either a tine bit faster and a bit of aoe . But it should never be stronger than dagger 1 on vs a single target.
