While I understand the ideas (mainly to reduce power damage output), the execution is far from compelling.
If you want to reduce passive RNG damage, simply dispose of air/blood/fire sigils. If you want to remove useless sigils, you can remove all the damage modifiers and duration modifiers. They’ve never been any use in PvP.
Some of the newly offered sigils are extremely powercreeped and some of the ones that were deleted were hardly problematic.
Air/blood/fire do help bunkers attaining good damage. But hydromancy? It’s been nerfed a few times already, it barely does any damage anymore. And I see leeching is gone too? That was hardly spammable or RNG, and not unlike sigil of Intelligence. It makes very little sense. Power builds will be left with about 5 sigils worth using. That’s pathetic.
The execution of this entire project is lacking and will probably remove yet another layer to theorycrafting just so they devs don’t have to nerf HoT powercreeped damage.
The 4.5% is actually an average on packet losses, upon closer inspection half the packet losses start from the ISP server on the third hop (and then the following hops are affected too). Some even reach 10-20% on the third hop. Soooo I guess you’re correct.
Thank you ! I’ve already tried calling my ISP but the tech guy I had on the phone had no idea what ping is so it’s gonna prove challenging.

That doesn’t add up for a number of reasons, starting with the fact that I tested several VPNs that I’d started using previously to fix, indeed, a Telia-induced Packet Loss problem.
It appears that you packet loss is starting just past your modem. Once you have packet loss it carries to each node you connect to. I would start trying to eliminate it at your ISP, that should also clear it up at each node along the way.

Hi,
I’ve had ping problems on a regular basis but they mostly (though not entirely) went away once I started using Pingzapper a few months back. However, I am unable to play since Saturday due to :
1) Spikes up to 4k (usually about 300 to 500, rarely 1k) for a few seconds
2) Sometimes, ping averaging at about 100 to 600
Needless to say, it’s unplayable.
On Saturday and Sunday it started at 5 pm up until midnight and on Monday it started at noon which isn’t exactly prime time (and kept going the entire day, though 7am to 11am was roughly ok). Just for the record nobody’s downloading on my network and I was the only one on it this Monday. The problems remain even if I use a VPN. I tested both Pingzapper AND WTFast and tried different settings (automatically close to my country vs manually a bit further away). I used to be in Wi-Fi, now I’m not so that’s ruled out too.

I believe this shows that I get some high average latency on NCsoft servers of about 200-400ms. I also get packet loss on those servers as demonstrated on the zooms.
I also pinged the IP address my VPN (Pingzapper only because WTFast provides about 10 IPs and I’ve no idea which one to ping) goes to when I’m using it in “Firewall mode” (ie all traffic goes through it).

And then I’m confused. It doesn’t look like the NCsoft servers (or Telia to some extent) are the problem anymore. I’m getting high latency and packet loss here too? What the heck?
If anyone can make sense of this and direct me to my ISP or to Anet CS, I would be most grateful.
P.S. : I know Ping Plotter shows that I supposedly have 20ms average but trust me, it’s not quite right ._.
P.S2: The gw2 diagnosis tool used to work a few months back but now it doesn’t show anything past the second hop, dunno if that’s helpful information.

Hum, tooltip is one thing and the skill could be quite another. Anet has a long history of inaccurate tooltips.
Try hitting a few golems (at least 10 with and 10 without the trait) in HoTM. Average the values, see if there’s a bug indeed. I’d pick an amulet without crit to get non-crit values.

if you use headbutt with a rune that has a “on-elite use” 6th bonus such as Surging or Krait, you only get the 6th bonus if Headbutt does NOT land on an enemy target. If it lands, nothing happens aside from the skill normally unfolding. I’ve been reporting this for months. Please fix. Just so we’re clear, it has nothing to do with the rune’s ICD.

I’ve reported these bugs several times over the past six months using the in-game function to no avail, so here they come again.
1) Volley : it is a channel but it doesn’t follow target if you let go of the camera. This is especially problematic in PvP as you sometimes want to make sure the enemy is tracked by such a skill, especially if they stealth. I believe you used to be able to let go of the camera and movement keys and it would follow, but no longer. If you want to see a channel that is not bugged, look at Rapid Fire.
2) Brutal Shot : this skill’s first problem is that it doesn’t override auto attack. Even if you have auto attack disabled and press Fierce Shot a few times, Brutal Shot will not interrupt it. It will be queued AFTER the Fierce Shots unless you interrupt the auto attacks (by stowing, for instance) THEN use Brutal Shot. Let’s give a quick example : you press Fierce Shot (#1) three times because you’re trigger happy. You see something you need to dodge, you press Brutal Shot (#4). Fierce Shot is fired three times THEN Brutal Shot is fired.
With any other weapon in the game, skills override the auto attack. It isn’t so here. Fix it.
3) Brutal Shot : Same as volley, this skill doesn’t follow target if you let go of the movement keys and the camera. Example : you let go of the keys and press it, the enemy goes in your back, nothing happens because the skill is interrupted. Pleaaaaase fix.
Letting go of the camera for skillshots is part of this game, make it a little more consistent please.

I tested this with Headbutt and the elite Signet and had previously tested it with Rune of Surging. This isn’t tied to the runes, it’s tied to Headbutt.
Basically, if headbutt does not land, then the rune activates. If headbutt does land, the rune doesn’t activate. I reported it months ago.
A few bugs, some of which are not related to the patch but it can’t hurt to report them :
- Overcharged Shot sometimes shows “Immune” on Warriors that use the Last Stand trait though the trait is on CD
-if you try to use magnet right after swapping to the Tool KiT, it sometimes fails
-if you use Whirlwind Attack on warrior GS, then swap and try to use Volley immediately, the character keeps spinning and no hit lands on the enemy (I assume because both skills are channels, some weird bug happens)
-power scaling on elementalist scepter seems very wrong since the patch, phoenix with 3 hits crit hit for 6k without might (on a glassy guardian), 8k with 25 mights. Clearly this isn’t right.

In PvP, air and fire sigils appear to do roughly 30% less damage. They formerly hit for 1k+, they now do around 850 for air and 700 for fire on light golems. I also noticed lower damage overall so wondered if something happened to the power scaling of skills.
Just tested on a friend warrior, could not reproduce it.
The HP bars on the sides are at least twice as thick as usual, I’m willing to bet it’s another patch bug.
I have the same issue but I completely wiped all GW2 data before heading to the forums, so no logs from me. I did send an error report with the crash report tool, though.
Same issue, my alt accounts work but my main account crashes immediately when I enter the character select screen.
Wait, it’s account dependent? Is this the revenge for the HoT portal drop or the free account upgrade after the first HoT stress test?
Doubt it, got two friends on this topic and neither of them had the pass for the first beta test, nor the portal. I had the pass and we all got the bug :>

While I’m at it, it’s not about seeing the challenge mote or not seeing it, it’s about whether it spawns or not. And that depends entirely on who opens the instance, as far as I know. If you follow my intructions, it should be alright :>
I did the achievement in this very fashion though I was unable to see the mote if I opened the instance. So yes, it does work.
Here’s some new information that should help players and devs alike :
Yersterday, I started doing the Dragon’s Reach P2 achievements and was, at the time, able to activate the challenge mote. After doing “Untouched by Maw and Claw”, I moved on to my second attempt at “Can’t Knock Me Down” + “Mote Master”. At this point, I got hit by the stomp which removed both “Can’t Knock Me Down” and “Mote Master”. Since then, impossible to get the challenge Mote to appear.
I suppose there is some kind of weird link there, if you fail at CKMD once, then the challenge mote becomes bugged. That much should help the devs.
Now as for the players, the solution is fairly easy : find someone who’s done LS but no achievements, disable your own LS (just in case though I doubt it’d hurt) and make them open the instance. The challenge mote will be there and you will be able to get the achievement

I would also argue that the other skills you named are not as necessary for the mentioned weapons that Net Shot is for rifle. Simple because rifle is clunky and would greatly benefit from having a reliable Net Shot.

AGAIN: YOU CANNOT CRAFT ASCENDED TRINKETS, NECKLACES OR ACCESSORIES which is what the OP is referring to, NOT ARMOR OR WEAPONS, which you CAN Craft. If you COULD craft the Accessories, amulets, and rings i would agree with you. But you CANNOT.
And yes, for now. i do not have Wynnes locket as of yet and thats what she will be getting.

THIS is wrong. You CAN craft ARMOR and WEAPONS, but NOT the trinkets, accessories, or amulets, FOR ANYTHING, which is what the OP is looking for, which i can buy through laurels. Nobody knows how to unlock the Nomad Amulets at the laurel merchant. I can buy them, but the OP cannot. Click on the picture, here ill attach it again for you. Those are clearly Nomad stats.

Back in 2012, projectiles would get randomly obstructed all the time. Then they got fixed. I’m here to talk about the sad little puppy that was left out, ie Net Shot. To make a long story short, it gets “Obstructed” randomly.
I think the problem at stake here is due to the fact that when your opponent move while you fire a projectile, the game calculates a trajectory for that projectile. If your opponent stop moving or changes direction, you might then get “Obstructed” because the trajectory proves to be ineffective (I think the 2012 problem was about the same thing). Now of course, the projectile speed and the range at which you fire it matter.

It’s in 6 parts :
1) My opponent strafes quickly while I fire my rifle auto-attack (AA)
->everything lands
2) Quick strafing while I use Net Shot 5 times
->1 success out of 5 attempts
3) Slower strafing that is much more likely to happen in actual PvP
->1 success out of 5 attempts
4) my guardian friend AAs me with scepter while I strafe quickly
->almost everything gets obstructed
5) my thief friend AAs me with shortbow while I strafe quickly
->almost everything gets obstructed
6) my thief friend AAs me with shortbow while I strafe slowly
-> quite a few of the hits land, I just noticed we got a few “Out of Range” though but you can still see my point, 50% of the hits get obstructed and the rest lands.
Quick strafing can’t really happen in PvP because you need to move around, the point of 1), 2), 4)and 5) is to show you that the projectile reaching his target depends highly on the projectile speed. Indeed, all the Hip Shots land while any slower projectile fails to reach the target most of the time.
Now 3) and 6) are more interesting because people strafing then changing direction or just not moving anymore are much more likely to happen in PvP. And the video is quite compelling there, Net Shot fails almost every time while the shortbow AA is much more reliable simply because it is quicker. Not a whole lot quicker, mind you, but a bit.
I’m not claiming this is all there is to Net Shot getting obstructed all the time because it just gets randomly obstructed even on targets you just cc-d with Overcharged Shot, but it should be a start.
I also would like to mention that I understand the need for Net Shot to be relatively slow because it is strong and needs to be dodgeable, so how about you make it a tad quicker and in exchange increase its CD? You could also give it a cast animation and make it much quicker, like pin down.

I also found out that
1) I’m still hearing rangers addressing their pets when I’m in PvP
2) the Llama finisher no longer plays the SAB music
While I’m at it, I’d like to report that the engineer skill Net Shot gets obstructed 50% of the time for no reason
1) Still getting stuck when entering a map
2) on Legacy of the Foefire, there is no water on the ground near the waterfall
3) on Battle of Kyhlo, the NPC archers are outside of the base
