Pretty much why I posted here and many others not receiving map comp rewards.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Got-100-map-completion-on-VB-no-reward
I was having the same issue. I was able to get past that area by quitting the chapter, then start the previous chapter, quit, remap/relog and restart the sign cutting chapter. Make sure you move through the zone as quickly as possible. There seems to be an issue causing it to bug if you take longer going from markings to markings(like stopping to kill mobs/ event etc …). I found the solution on here or reddit after searching on google.
100% map completion in V.B. before the 4th and no reward. Logged back in to VB and still no reward. It wouldn’t bother me so much if map comp. was not tied to specialized collections.
Same problem here, I’m stuck at the rock next to Dragon’s Passage Waypoint.
I would like to just give a quick thanks to GM Shaolin ShadowBoxing for assisting me with a minor issue. I have been playing since Beta and have only needed customer service a few times. They have been quick to respond and very helpful. I know that working in CS can be rough sometimes so I just wanted to give a quick public thanks. Thank You and keep up the Good Job! [insert Wil Smith – Hankitten -“Good Job”]
Can we please also get some better underwater elites. We have 1. Just 1. All of my minions can swim, but my flesh golem apparently drowns. Please teach my golem to swim.
qol – but, This could use an update, even if the used a Skale or Skelk skin/animation(shadow or toxic of course).
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

I agree with OP. I will NOT purchase HoT at this price for myself or my family members.
My condolences to family and friends.
I support the idea of a memorial in the guild hall. Perhaps it could be something that could be edited by guild leaders like the guild emblem.
Thank You Jon and Anet for finally working on this.
I’d like to know what they will do to prevent afk players at “outpost” scaling up event mobs. Seeing this happen at Forts in Silverwaste more and more.
Am I the only one who thinks Rytlock’s “polearm” might actually be the hammer, “The Punisher” http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Punisher
I hate to be the downer, but I think they are just giving different classes new weapons already in game.( with the new mastery skills)
Good catch and call coinhead ; )
I’m having same issue here :/
Having same issue … N/A- eastcoast
Still bugged
I follow Dulfy’s guides and she plays mesmer. She also mentioned that for one or some of the fights for this latest story caused her clones to instantly be killed on creation.
- Anet has released broken Ranger pet, Mesmer clones and Necro minion AI. This has been broken since release and they have yet to fix this.
Yep, must be Anet’s fault because some Verizon Support guy told you so…..
If it is a Verizon problem, then how come I don’t have a problem downloading and patching several other games…. ???
If it’s a Verizon problem then how come I can download and play/ patch several other games on my computer without any issues ??? I’ve been in touch with Anet support and I will wait for a serious solution from Anet.

I also had the same problem, Verizon customer( northeast US). I sent a support ticket in and it was suggested that I delete my GW2 local.dat file and restart the launcher. This did work for me, however it did stop at 99% again. I walked away and it finished the last 1% about 30-40 minutes later.
My support ticket – ****

Hello,
Thank you for bringing this updated information to my attention today.
I’d like you to first locate and delete your local.dat file which is located in your C:\Users*Your Username*\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 folder. Once this is done, reboot your computer and launch Guild Wars 2 again. after seeing the 1 file remaining message, a secondary protocol should kick in to download the file from the backup system, usually takes about 10 minutes.
So I would wait about 15 minutes or so, and let us know if it does not complete the download.
If this does not resolve the issue I would like you to change the language for the launcher (top right corner) to French to see if the download completes. You can change it back to English once it does and you should be able to play.
If either of these suggestions has an effect on the issue please let us know.

This did NOT fix my issue****

THIS ! I think Deified hit the nail on the head.
I suppose what it boils down to with me is a question of why the content needs to be an elite level challenge in the first place. Would it really be all that bad if an average group of players could win?
snip
Josh, I think a lot of people are confused about where the frustration is coming from.
Let me make something clear, Mechanic wise these events are AMAZING for this game. You guys did a great job designing them and the mechanics are great. There are 3 major flaws that I think you guys are slowly getting better at, though need to find a way to solve them. I call it the three Ws. The Who, the What, and the When
Who: Who you play with. It is very hard for people to play with who they want unless they get there super early. Blackgate is an example on this. I went in there and there was an hour + que on the main in lornars pass. If you want a lot of players to work together, they need to be able to choose Who they play with. That is why raids in other games are so successful in promoting guilds. They require coordination amongst a lot of people. Since it wasn’t based on overflows or random chance they will get into the same server they can plan times and build their freetime around that.
What: The thing about this game is that most Vanilla content is able to be easily completed by most “meta” builds right now. I’ve mostly played Necromancer and Engineer, but I found that my builds can easily do all types of content. Most vanilla content is really easy to adapt too. I haven’t done dungeons/fractals in a while, but most of the time I found myself just casting a ton of offensive skills while dodging the occasional attack from an enemy. I never felt like I needed to adapt on the fly and quickly. Most of the newer content you’ve been releasing is almost the exact opposite of this. So I kind of think you’re giving players a bit of a “combat shock” in which you’re placing them in situations way different from what their use too.
When: The big one. Everything before this can be reduced in the effect it has on the population by a TON if this problem is solved. Timed spawns are the devil for this hardcore content. The great thing about queen’s jubilee that if a player wanted too, he could get into the gauntlent over and over again. It was very easy for them to learn by trail and error. I remember seeing people die in the arena and get pushed out. I rez them and talk to them about strategies for a bit. Skills they could be using. They agree, immediately replace those skills and jump back in to the fight. You cant’ do that with things like Wurm or Marionette. Once you fail you have a long time to wait. Most of the players will leave the zone. The ones I just bonded with through battle will most likely not be there next round. Allowing players to learn by trial and error is a HUGE requirement for games. Darksouls, Raids in MMOs, etc. They all allowed players to immediately try again after dying, not waiting 1 hour or more. I’m not saying make these events farmable, but the current system is putting a ton of strees on the community’s overall enjoyment.
tl;dr Allow players to have more control over who they play with and when a boss spawns along with adding in more smaller content that represents these more advance styles of play and you’ll see a lot of the frustrations and overall anger toned down.
People love to zerg and Anet delivers zerg contents. Everyone happy….
In the never ending quest to improve our design and find ways to please as many people as possible we’re always digging into constructive criticism. We have not perfected the recipe for an open world boss event, probably because we’re pioneering new territory here.
As far as I can tell there are a couple challenges we are trying to overcome. First, we are trying to teach the community a new skill: self organization. And I’m happy to see that in the aggregate, they ARE learning. I’m sure as this process continues we will find better ways to accommodate the communication structures that will emerge.
Secondly, from both a technical and player-experience perspective, it’s best to break up zergs as much as possible. Thematically keeping everyone feeling like they are contributing to a common cause from multiple locations, and still feel heroic is an interesting challenge to balance. Always looking for new ideas on this issue!
They are moving away from zergs and more towards “organized content”. I don’t object but they should start giving us better tools to organize and communicate.

If we are moving to world events that require us to be organized, then why are we restricted to a party/ group of 5 ?
To the point of overflows and standing around waiting for bosses – those can be avoided pretty easily by simply selecting a server that isnt one of the 3-4 rushed by 90 percent of the population. Population spread is the single best solution to those issues.
I agree with most of what you said. However why are they continuing for push content that is only being played on 3-4 servers( of 24 NA and 27 EU). The rest of the 20 or so servers are out of luck if they want to successfully complete these events.
Anet please take the time to watch this vid. I’m sure others have spoke of something similar. I believe it is a great idea(not mine) and I wanted to share.
Basically in the video SignsOfKelani suggests taking our current top tier cultural armor and giving the players the option to upgrade it adding the particle effects. Yes a lot like what you just did to the Human Tier 3 Cultural Armor!
However let us work toward it, and give us a variety of choices in particle effects(by adding different mats w/ armor in the forge).

The 1 Skritt in LA is how I did it. Although it couldn’t be hit 10 times consecutive. I had to hit other NPC’s or players too.
I had the broken armor bug as well. I created a new toon and took it out and broke everything until naked then it pop’d up.

A nice improvement, however a slider would be even better. Thank you for all the hard work.
My wife and I entered this instance of the personal story, both playing our Sylvari characters.
We both were at this part of our characters story line.
We rescued the skritt but the harpies never spawned.
We left the instance and started it over, they spawned the second time around.
