I was doing the crucible of eternity dungeon path 3 and at the final boss one of my party members said: “maybe he is angry and fighting us because he is hungry”, he then proceeded to shoot his birthday blaster cake at the boss, which actually still does damage. I cried with laughter XD
I’m on the final mission of the main story on one of my characters and I am just wondering, does anyone think that completing the main story will give you different rewards after HoT is realeased?
I’m just wondering, not that it matters too much.
you can still use those gifts to craft the old legendaries but not the new ones.
Ok awesome thank you
Phew! Was getting nervous there
I currently have the Gift of Fortune and the Gift of Mastery.
With HoT, the gifts to make a legendary will be changing (Gift of Maguuma etc.)
Will my Gifts become useless with the new system or will they be converted into the new Gifts that are similar?
Really hope they will still be useful in crafting my first legendary. I will literally cry if all my grinding so far was for nothing.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I named my female Ranger “Steph Irwin”
The title I have on my ranger is “Deer Commander” and my pet bear is aptly named “Not a deer”
I’m also going to name my Revenant “Helen Killer”
So whenever I join a friend in their home instance or their main quest instance, if I summon my own merchant, I cannot interact with my merchant
This seems very strange.
Can this be fixed

Isn’t that why they are introducing Legendary armor?
You know, so you only need one set and can change stats outside of combatDoesn’t work that way, different builds require different runes.
Oh right the runes…forgot about those

“MMO” drops mic and walks away
legendary llama!
aaah i see.
Ok well guess i’m just gonna have to deal with it
I’ve noticed that when I want to deposit something in the guild bank, it will always make a separate stack. I can’t seem to add to my stack already stored in the guild bank.
For example, I have 10 wintersday socks in the guild bank and I have 2 in my inventory.
I am not able to click and drag the two socks onto the stack of 10.
Instead I have to drag the 10 into my inventory, which then allows me to combine them.
Then i can now move my stack of 12 back into the guild bank.
Hope this makes sense.
Can this be fixed so that I don’t have to go through this process everyday? (I have a wintersday tree in my home instance which is why i keep getting these items everyday)
1) You dodge roll off a cliff edge while fighting a boss
2) You play the mystic forge and are left wondering where your 1000g went
3) You finally get your armorsmithing to 500 to make ascended armor… for your mesmer
4) You go on an adventure in WvW…only to find yourself being kittened by 100’s of enemies
5) You click on “leave party” instead of “kick from party”.
6) After 15 hours of playing, you realize you can actually run
7) You sell your precursor at a merchant
There’s a terrific stickied thread in the Players Helping Players forum of Tips for players.

Ah thanks, this is great!
Much appreciated
Hi all
I’m hoping to make this post a helpful one to those who may have missed some neat little tricks to earn more gold or “hidden” easter eggs in the game. Some things might seem obvious to some players, but there will always be some that you may miss.
I have been playing the game for almost 2 years and I still come across stuff in the forums that leaves me going “what? you can do that?”. Below are 2 prime examples
1. I didn’t realize until recently, that anyone in your party can enter your home instance and have access and gather the nodes and stuff you have stored inside.
2. With the whole season 2 having to be bought with gems, there were a surprising amount of players on the forums who didn’t know that you could just join someone who had it all unlocked and run through it with them (but without any rewards).
This was important info for those who wanted to catch up with the story so that HoT made sense.
So ya, there are a few other practical ones like “you don’t need to carry the bomb to the chest” in Griffonhook run to get the JP achievement.
Also, there used to be a spot in Silverwastes where you could glitch out the map and fall underneath it in water. You could swim around and could use your position to log off and on again to teleport to the highest point in silverwastes. Got some great screenshots out of that. (I think it’s fixed now)
Anyways hope you guys get the idea and can add some useful tips to this post, who knows, there might be more obvious ones i’m missing out on.
Thanks
So I recently looted 1000 bandit chests (over a few days) and I got approximately 120 gold from just opening the “embroidered coin purse”. I pretty much threw all green and yellow items into the mystic toilet and came out with 13 exotics (highest value was 4 gold).
If you do a chest run, you’re looking at 10-15 gold per 100 chests. That’s my guess
i think you accidentally put a 1 in front of the gold amount you looted.
coin purses drop 1-10s each, and it doesn’t average 5. even at an outlier figure of 10s per bag, 1000 bags would only net you 100g.
Sorry no that’s not what i meant, i meant i got 120 gold from all the items etc. from opening the 1000 coin purses. That includes all the mats and items I got. The silver you get from opening one is included in that amount. I understand I may not have been clear enough

I’m sorry but i just don’t agree with you all.
I think the character that is two years old should be the one who is rewarded.
I mean, imagine someone else get a birthday cake instead of you because they are more fun lol.
However, what Anet could do, is reward your actual account from when you first registered.
Now I know that is pretty much the same thing but to me it is different.
Just the way I look at itSo far the birthday gifts have been account bound except for this one item. Even the minipet the first year before the minipet wardrobe was account bound. You could give it to your brand new char if you wanted. If they had really wanted the rewards to be for that char only, they would have made the mini Jennahs soulbound to the birthday char.
Yeah i suppose it’s down to inconsistency then.
It’s not a massive issue and I understand why it would be nice to be able to shoot cake on all characters.
Can you imagine an open world event with everyone holding a cake blaster, madness:)

This whole post is just lol.
I mean seriously…one extra click per level (regardless of tomes or not).
This reminds me of another post where someone didn’t want to have to make sure if they wanted to salvage a rare item or not.
XD (Just ridiculous)
People seriously need to take the carrots out their kittens.
There are actual real issues with the game that affect more than just the lazy vets.
Let’s concentrate on those please and not fill up this forum with pointless posts.
Lol all this complaining from everyone is basically the main issue i have with the Guild Wars community.
The slightest challenge and everyone throws their toys out of the cot.
What happened to enjoying challenges in games?
I managed to be a part of a group that killed Teq with 6min to spare so if you do things right then you’ll be fine.
All it does is actually force people to work together (Oh no Anet how could you?)
I find similar issues when I dungeon with people.
Every boss people just tank and spank (stack in one place and spam all abilities).
No tactics are used and it really becomes boring (no skill required)
People are just really lazy and the thought of having to use a brain when fighting just seems ludicrous to them.
Come on people, live a little
P.S I assume people have become really lazy because Guild Wars 2 does make you grind like a kitten to get what you want.
This is the “How I met your mother” season finale all over again. Can’t deal
So uh three days after posting this, I went to fight Tequetl and got an ascended weapon. First ascended drop in 700 hours of playing.
I am sensing a conspiracy.
ANet saw this post and made an awesome item drop for me so I can keep quiet.
It all makes sense now.
Maybe I should make a post about legendaries…
3k + gamehours. 1 pre – Dawn (2-3k gold spent overall in MF tho).
Reading here, man, som ppl got sick luck I must say….
Yeah, that’s also mainly why I made this post.
Just to see if most people have good luck in the game.
Sadly it really doesn’t look good.
Some people are just born with the luck I guess.
Hey everyone
I’m just interested in the most expensive item you have looted
A girlfriend…and now she’s account bound. . .
XD, never sell her ever
Well it is quite interesting to read all these posts as it seems like black lion chests give the greatest reward. Does this mean…key farm…???
Dusk from a L6 Raptor Hatchling in Metrica Province. Several Abyss and Celestial Dyes from Unid Dyes (from Dye change), Energizer from the Karka thing, a bunch of Shadow Dyes, but I guess they weren’t very rare…um…Makeover Kits (about 7)…and several named exotics that aren’t Precursors (I don’t know what they are worth…likely not much…but, they sit in Invisible Bags on characters that might use them some day..lol).
Nothing really special but the Dusk, which I should have kept to sell now, rather than back then (only about 500G).
I can just imagine a friend of mine just getting the game and after like 2 hours, Dusk drops on a normal mob. I would honestly cry.
Does a permanent hair style contract from a black lion chest count?
Well…if you want it to
That’s really awesome though
kitten ! What area was that mob in?
Hey everyone
I’m just interested in the most expensive item you have looted (chest, mob, etc.) and where it was.
Obviously precursers will probably be the most but if you have any other interesting things you have found then put it in.
Last week I found a Ventari ascended recipe which I could sell for 36 gold.
I looted it from a buried chest in Dry Top
NB: This does not include stuff you have bought with a currency and sold for gold later (loot only).
Thanks
Some of the arguments in this post XD
Man sometimes i really just love the guild wars community.
My Norn Guardian:
""Aaaahhh, fire burns""
Also his very girly screams whenever I use a diving point cracks me up every time.
Oh and one of the funniest interactions I can remember is between the Mad King and his son. Too funny XD
1. Mad King Thorn: I forgot how much your little tantrums bored me, Eddie.
Bloody Prince Thorn: It’s Edrick! Edrick the Bloody! Let’s see how bored you’ll be when I tear you limb from limb, you maniac.
Mad King Thorn: Ooh, getting all emotional, I see. Why don’t you run home to momma and cry.
Bloody Prince Thorn: I can’t. You beheaded her.
Mad King Thorn: Best birthday ever. What about your stepmother, Estrella?
Bloody Prince Thorn: You put her in a coffin filled with rats and bumped it into the sea! Henrietta was the only one who was kind to me, and you killed her, too.
Mad King Thorn: No, my massacring little moppet. That was you. (laugh) You decided to play Pin the Tail on the Drake with her.
Mad King Thorn: Of course, you literally nailed her hands to the drake. (laugh)
Bloody Prince Thorn: You…stop. Stop laughing! I…I did that? I remember the hammer. All that blood.
Mad King Thorn: Oh, you never liked her. And she bored me. Besides, I was proud of you for that.
Bloody Prince Thorn: Really?
Mad King Thorn: No. You’ve always been a major disappointment.
2. Bloody Prince Thorn: How dare you. You struck my name from history!
Mad King Thorn: I would have given it back to you the moment you learned your lesson.
Bloody Prince Thorn: But I died in that box.
Mad King Thorn: What can I say? You were always a slow learner.
3. Bloody Prince Thorn: I will draw out your death, Father. I learned things in that box. Starvation is a slow, agonizing death.
Mad King Thorn: Oh, you’re still whining about that. I gave you food.
Bloody Prince Thorn: You locked me in there with a mouth full of candy corn! That’s not food. That’s…your idea of a joke.
Mad King Thorn: Oh, look. The starving boy is being picky. You always were a whiner.
Bloody Prince Thorn: I don’t see why you’re so shocked. Your subjects butchered you. You should be used to uprisings.
Bloody Prince Thorn: After all, you killed your father. It’s time history repeated itself.
Mad King Thorn: So your plan here is poetic irony? Ooh, I’m so scared. Bloody Prince Thorn. (laughs)
Hey I just asked a question now on the forum to see whether you can play season 2 with someone who has already unlocked it and apparently you can,
So if you want to play it just for the story line then you don’t need to pay, just find someone who has already unlocked it to run through it with you.
Don’t know why people don’t do this.
The only downfall is you don’t get any rewards or achievements from it, but you seem mainly interested in the story line so no problem right>
Ok great that’s awesome.
Was hoping for that.
Hi all
I have a friend who recently bought Guild Wars 2 and is basically 5 min away from level 80.
I know that he will have to pay gems to unlock the chapters for season 2 to play them for himself.
However, I already have all of the chapters unlocked and finished.
Would I be able to run through them again with him in my party even though he doesn’t have it unlocked?
I would assume he just wouldn’t get the rewards for completing the chapter because it is mine (similar to someone helping me with my main story line)
Would be awesome for him just so that he can catch up on the story line.
Thanks
Okay, not to answer your question directly, but the Festival of the Four Winds, while it included the Crown Pavilion, isn’t what you’re asking about. That is to say, the Pavilion started with the Queen’s Jubilee and it was brought back during the Festival. The Festival actually refers to the other area of the Festival, where we climbed the cliffs and raced as dolyaks and found hidden crystals.
This post isn’t as pedantic as it might first seem. Due to the way the living story has unfolded, it’s not really possible for the Festival of the Four Winds to come back at all. It would break the game’s story.
However, the Pavilion itself could reopen as something separate. I just wanted to point that out.
As for your question, I believe we will see the pavilion again, but no idea when.
Is it difficult to include? It might seem to you that you can just throw a switch and add content, but sometimes these things are not simple. When you have a program this complex, taking something that is not there and adding it back in can cause unexpected problems. It happens quite frrequently, actually. Everything that is put back in has to be carefully tested. As for Anet seeing this post and thinking wow that’s a great idea, they’ve already seen this post many, many many times and know about it. This post won’t change anything. They either plan to do it, or they don’t.
Yeah i am actually mainly referring to the Crown Pavilion, just found the arena part amazing. If they could open that up it would be great.
So I’m sure most of you on this forum are pretty tired of reading about people speculating and wanting events to come back (super adventure box is just one example), well…this is another one of those posts. (Sorry)
Anyways, I looked at the history of living world releases and noticed that on the 20th of May last year, the Festival of the Four Winds was returned to us.
Personally I absolutely loved the Crown Pavilion arena that came with it (my favourite out of everything actually) and I have been hoping and praying that we might just see the return of it while we wait for the next few months for the expansion.
I assume that this is probably not going to happen but I love to be naive and hope that it just might.
So my questions are as follows:
1) What is the chance that we will get to see Crown Pavilion again?
2) Is it actually that difficult to include it? (isn’t there like something similar to like an on/off switch, i mean the content has already been made)
3) What are the chances that ArenaNet will see this post and be like “hey that’s a great idea!!!”? (I think i know that answer already)
Sorry if i am coming across as ignorant or whatever, just curious and my usual snooping around on the forums has not answered any of my questions.
The only way i can see mounts being implemented into the game is if:
1)
They do not give you a speed boost (just for looking cool like the broom and digger we have already. Also it won’t then make waypoints redundant and world exploration will still be an epic achievement instead of something done in two seconds with a fast mount)
2)
There is an option for other players to turn on/off “mount viewer”. Gamers who struggle to play the game due to graphics or cpu restraints can turn off seeing other players with mounts so it only displays other characters running normally…or swimming in the air, that would be funny. (But ya, i have no idea if this is a mission to do cause im not a game designer in any way).
So wanting to have mounts is a cool idea, but to have it give you a major speed boost, kind of defeats the point of having waypoints and exploration would just be rushed. Guild Wars is meant to be explored slowly so you can marvel at the views instead of rush past it. But that’s just me. Moving along
Alright, so this is an idea I have that I think would be awesome if it could be implemented.
Wouldn’t it be cool if we could log into the GW2 website on any computer or cellphone and access our accounts statistics and achievements? (like a summary or even a detailed one)
So many times I’m at work and I am browsing crafting stuff and I can’t see how much of the materials I have because i don’t have the game on the pc at the time.
I would also really like it if we could see all our achievements and maybe have a progress bar for at least 20 of them all summarized on one page.
The only game I think of at the moment that does this is Battlefield 3 and 4. (I know they aren’t MMOs and stuff but it is really cool to just check out my stats in detail). They even compare your achievements to all the players in the game.
I just think this would be an awesome feature to have. Just not sure how possible it is to do this. Let me know what you guys think Remember, this is just an idea, so don’t kill me lol
There are more timed jps in this game. Skipping stones in Southsun Cove comes to mind, as well as a few others that have timed elements (although sometimes with different challenges than just “race to finish”).
Personally I think just slapping a time limit on existing jps won’t work well in many cases. Several of them require fighting random spawns, which doesn’t mesh well with time limit. I surely would enjoy more different kinds of jps, including time-limited ones (even though I suck at those
), but I’d rather have a few that are designed to have a clear, unique challenge (like Griffonrook Run which has a different kind of timed challenge), than a generic “hardmode” thrown at every jp regardless of the mechanics designed into that jp.
I also don’t like the idea of advertising the start of a jp by placing a unique npc there. Most of the JPs are hidden and a kind of reward for exploration by their existance alone, advertising them would be to much like handholding in my opinion. Hide some kind of hidden trigger near the start to activate an extra challenge/reward in the jp (which is already done in the above mentioned Griffonrook Run … just do the jp for the achievement, or do it while carrying the bomb for the extra chest reward at the end) and I’m sold, but again, I don’t think it would work well if something like this would be generically slapped onto each of the existing jps.
There have been numerous discussions about the Crown Pavilion and other seasonal content on this forum already, and it looks like ANet has a clear stance on activating those every now and then, but not keep them in-game permanently. SAB tribulation mode is another challenge that comes to mind, even though it takes a whole different set of skills to get through that one. In the end it’s all solo challenges though, and the direction of the game for permanent content seems to go towards group challenges, not solo challenges.
By the way, the difference between gear tiers in this game is not nearly as large as you seem to assume. Most people that facerolled Liadri and her friends did so because they simply are really good at this game, and probably would’ve done almost as well in all greens. Different gear tiers don’t make up for lack of skill here, unlike a lot of similar games.
Sweet thanks for the response, obvious;y these are just ideas that I have that seem cool in my head lol. But I do get what you’re saying and it does make sense. I do prefer a secret switch instead of an NPC (cool idea).
Maybe they can add the time limit to specific jumping puzzles not all, I just think it would be cool if maybe they added the time limit to more. I know which JP you are talking about and I do like those as well (cause it is different to your usual JP). I guess i just really enjoyed the clock tower and would really like to see more Jp like that.
As for the Crown Pavilian. My friend and I watched several players (mainly warriors though), just eat through the life of some bosses. It was crazy, match would last like 10seconds max. Maybe warriors are just OP. But for Liadri you obviously have to get to phase 2 before you can do anything. But thanks for the response, appreciate it
Alright so I was playing the new/old Halloween content yesterday and tried out the Mad King’s Clock Tower jumping puzzle for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I managed to complete it with a fair amount of effort but the satisfaction from eventually completing it was just amazing (kinda like beating a boss in Dark Souls).
It actually seems like a pretty easy jumping puzzle but what makes it quite difficult is the fact that you are rushed for time to complete it. If you take too long, you’ll get swallowed by that green abyss below.
Anyway, after finishing it, I got an idea. What if, you could do something similar with all the jumping puzzles in Tyria? What if you had the option to do a jumping puzzle like normal, but you also have the option to do it in a specific time? (Heroic mode)
So how I think this could work is by putting an NPC at the beginning of every jumping puzzle which you can talk to in order to activate the time limit (This would also help with showing you where the jumping puzzle starts which would be cool). Again, this is just an option so some people don’t have to do it in “Heroic Mode”. But if you do decide to do it, the rewards in the chest would be greater or it may increase the probability of a rare item drop (according to the puzzle difficulty, area and your level of course). If you manage to do all the Jumping Puzzles in “Heroic Mode”, then you can get a new (better) Title. I know some people may find jumping puzzles difficult already, but i think this would be an awesome feature for those who enjoy them and are really good.
What you guys think and how do I get this idea to the Guild Wars people who would be able to put this forward? (I really think this is a cool idea).
Then Secondly I just want to add (maybe I should make a new thread), the Arena with Liadri and all those other bosses in the Crown Pavilian.
I really really enjoyed fighting all the different bosses and was really sad when it was removed. I would really like it back permanently and here’s why:
For the first and only time in the game so far, I was actually forced to read the traits and abilities of my character (I’m a guardian), in order to beat some of the bosses in the arena. It was where I learned about what stats help the most in certain situations and what weapon abilities would also benefit me the most. I actually felt like I really had to use some skill and ability to beat them instead of just stacking and standing in one spot and just spamming every ability available (most dungeons these days). It was also great because it relied on my skill alone, not a group.
Anyway what I’m trying to say is, when you make a new character and get him/her to level 80, I find that the best way to learn about what your traits and abilities actually do, is in the arena. It makes you a better player and it tests your skill. I also came out of it, knowing a hell of a lot more about my character.
(Of course there were some guys who just pwned because they were ascended but I mean, as a new level 80 character I think it would be great. Anyway these are my thoughts and ideas, what you think?)
