This game has active PVP, there no class that’s going to be super OP because they would have to nerf it. Balance is a requirement to be in league matches a game that can not provide balance can not have competitive PVP or be considered for competitive PVP.
What video card are you using this is just the shader turned up to max. It might have no effect if your card does not support high level shading. There’s 1, 2, and 3. There’s probably stuff inbetween.
All my armors look shiny no matter what the dye color is, because I’m wearing heavy metallic armor and have a graphics card that supports Shader 3.0
It’s true that all games or rather most MMO’s (not all) have some form of grind. However do you know of any that gives out so much punishment for grinding? They have a poor control over their economy and they want Gems to be worth something. So we are all effected by DR and other things. Grinding wouldn’t be so bad, it’s the grinding and the punishment on top that makes it frustrating for a lot of people. I personally can’t do it, I can’t grind knowing that eventually my efforts will be diminished just because I had the time to do something. If i’m putting in the same amount of effort I should get the same amount of reward back.
You do realise that all you people spending so much money on boxes isn’t going help change the system right? It’s because of people like you that we have these stupid boxes in the first place. Stop buying them. Then Anet will have to come up with proper ways to sell us good items rather than offering us a huge gamble.
Agreed, I learned my lesson after the first event. Never EVER buy boxes.
It’s a bot, it on sale for 5 euros apparently. Anyway, haven’t even tried the jumping puzzle myself glad I haven’t I’ll wait till fix.

This is a great way to find out which servers are complete empty and which ones actually have people playing on it.
The one at the bottom is completely dead. About 2/3s of the servers are emptying or dieing when you get to Tarnished Coast on up are the servers that are really still kicking. Don’t play on anything below that or you’ll eventually quit from playing Ghost Town 2.
I hear European servers don’t suffer this same problem.
The problem is these combos, finishers, and tactics really only matter on a small scale like sPvP.
Anything else and they are sort of pointless. In mass combat it’s the more damage in a larger area that matters and the pure output thereof. It’s because of this that it becomes boring, because it no longer really matters about every single thing that can be done, but rather what does the most damage with the littlest effort in the quickest amount of time.
Can’t really win, I think that’s why so many are leaving the game though. There not a way to win right now, cause there’s no end game content.
Think about it what are you gearing up for? PVP is the only answer but the PVP is in utter ruins, and is almost pointless. FotM runs, dungeon runs, Legendaries, in the end there all pointless. It doesn’t give you the same satisfaction as if you had a Legendary or rare weapon in any other game. It just does not matter.
It’s very simple, they didn’t give it any thought before the game came out. In guild wars, you could never see the bots, hence the devs never payed any attention. Now that people can see the bots, people are complaining.
These devs just have no experience with MMOs, which is why they are having so many issues with anything related to MMOs.
Secondly there is no basic, I mean even basic, program in place to prevent hacking or botting. It’s a purely open and unsecured game.
Fixing things not broken, Anet’s use of time is ingenious.
Their all mammalian in form. According to research on animal behavior, any species will procreate with another if it has the proper equipment. There has even been research on same sex necrophilia in the mallard duck think that article won an award.
Basically if it’s got the parts and the male is appropriately in the mood as with a female. Things can happen. Attraction can often become moot when a need arises.
However past the point of needs, attraction based on the human mammalian structure they all share this function of form so I think it goes without saying they can all be easily attracted, except perhaps the Char which falls out of the mammalian form structure slightly.
The legendary becomes whatever you transmute it to, the Devs have said at a later date a patch will be put in so legendaries stay legendary even after you transmute them whether this effects prior xmutes who knows they didn’t say.
Based on the timeframe of how fast they work your looking at 1-2 months before you see this patch.
booo hoooo why not go on the other mmo, stop moaning here and come back later? then you dont need to wait
I am on another mmo right now dual monitor and your right I don’t need to. For freaks sake though how many chances do you expect someone to give ANet?
So, it starts at 2AM? Is this right? What dumb chipmunk thought of this? I’m sitting there in Lions Arch waiting. While putting off another MMO I picked up just to see if GW2 is worth it. Now I’m waiting?
So with Winterday’s event arriving let discuss the fundamentals of what we will be doing in the Event. Killing things to complete task.
So is killing things during winter event making things jolly for you and those little kids watching you kill the evil monsters?
I don’t know how they could make it better except give us clubs and seals, and make the blood shoot out candy instead.
GW2 is not for gamers it is a CASUAL SANDBOX of an MMO there is nothing to keep people who like challenges other than how long can I grind.
It’s definitely not a sand box that’s an insult to all those sand boxes out there.
I too am use to being a healer and a buffer, but I assumed that these things would not be needed. They are needed, the mechanic of falling to the ground and needing to be picked up constantly makes everyone in the game feel like a failure. That’s not heroic. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should do something and in this case I believe this game still needs healers and buffers or at least improve everyone’s survivability.
I hate the fall down mechanic down because I see it as a crutch for the game. A quick solution to getting rid of trinity.
Can’t they ban the IP range of the botters?
Do what…..go look up IP range. What like ban all of asia or something? Or ban some of the US or Europe and hope everyone else isn’t in that range?
What if they use a proxy?
Not all Gold sites sell Gold via farming a lot of them buy gold from players in game and don’t even farm. Meaning anyone in here can be a botter.
Yes the right click on person, click on report code is indeed revolutionary. It’s amazing these bots have any chance at all. The GM sitting at his desk staring at one location from in game is also an amazing piece of code. If only every game used these sophisticated methods, there would be no bots.
You know what would actually work? A simple scanner that searches for hack .exe or bot .exes. That’s how the rest of the industry works….instead of sometimes banning the correct people, it would AWAYS ban the correct people.
(edited by Volomon.9147)
supposedly they’re full not because of the amount of people currently online, but the amount of accounts tied to the server.
Yes, and WoW’s 10 million customers are including trial and “free” accounts, as well as those that are past canceled and expired. Well, that one actually might be true…
But, no, the servers aren’t based on “accounts tied to them”, they are actually players playing the game at that time, of which there are a lot of them.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Server-Populations/first#post703192
Last post is by a dev. The statement seems a little vague, and I don’t believe it’s necessarily true, but server status might not be entirely based on users actively online.
I’d just like to point out that community coordinators are not developers, they are pretty much just forum moderators (as far as we’re aware). I’m not sure if they’re involved in other parts of customer service as well, though. Still, not developers.
And Eva or another CC posted another message that was much less vague and stated it was only online members. I’m sure it’s been covered in the past by actual developers as well.
That makes sense except the guy they turn around and talk to are devs.
It’s also already been clarified to the moon and back that the pop level are by accounts not online.
Also as a new player always check WvW standings the ones at the bottom are dead servers.
You got stuff during the event didn’t you? That’s it.
Would immediately go from almost never playing the game to never playing the game.
There are a bunch of guilds that have 100% representation. In fact I find the ability to have 4 guilds utterly kitten THAT should be removed from the game.
Also you either didn’t understand what you were writing about exploits or ignored it. There has to be a gain, and per your examples you illustrated that they bribe members. So their losing something not gaining anything.
Further more nothing is making any of these members stay in the guild at all. You don’t lose anything when you leave.
Hell I got kicked out of a guild for not being online for one week. Some guilds are more hardcore than others. Just leave.
Borrow bots, robots in the ground.
What are those evil hack links or rick rolled, I don’t click on shorten links.
Guilds in this game suck anyway.
I bought a bunch of unidentified dyes while they were cheap like 2 silver, does that count?
Have you looked into shutting the window or place curtains on it?
Ya he’s hacked not sure what you can do about it though. I think you need to explain the story more as well, those guys are totally clueless about what your talking about.
Most of these stories are just a sad commentary on human intelligence.
Being “afk” is always cheating, then?
If your computer plays it self while your afk yes.
I understand there is an alternative method for obtaining precursors being worked on “scavenger hunt”. For those of us that don’t want to wait another 6 months or however long it will take to “get it right” … I would like to propose an easier solution.
Put in an NPC with a SET price of 200 gold for two handers and 100 gold for 1 handers. If 200/100 isn’t reasonable then pick a price you feel IS reasonable for ONE ingredient in the legendary (yes, the precursor is just ONE ingredient in a long list) and PROBLEM SOLVED.
People that are fortunate enough to get one from the Mystic forge or drop will still have a sudden windfall of gold and the entire process of obtaining a legendary becomes streamlined as it should be. Win win.
Even the notoriously bad devs from Aion did this when they had no choice but to admit the market for needed Stigmas was being manipulated by a few and impacting ALL. They put in the NPC vendor selling the Stigma at a set rate and prices came down .. shocking. They were still expensive but at least you KNEW how much gold you needed.
This doesn’t lessen the achievement of getting a legendary one bit. The only thing this does is make the legendary more like a recipe (as it should be) instead of the lottery or worse yet a credit card purchase. If prices are left unchecked the only way a legendary can be viewed as an achievement is how much gold people were willing to buy.
I currently have 1,200 hours invested in the pursuit of my legendary (Twilight) … at the current pace of inflation I will never actually get ahead of the inflation curve to purchase the precursor (Dusk is over 400 gold and climbing DAILY).
Sorry, but I would like to be able to actually play the game again … instead of trying to milk every last copper out of every minute I am online.
Win win for everyone except people using the trading post. Also what would you do after you milk every copper and got a legendary?
Actually my solution will have less of an impact than the one Anet is working on. When it becomes the “scavenger hunt” the precursor will have zero value. My proposal puts a set price on said value.
The argument of the poor traders … there are only a handful of people with the kind of gold it takes to manipulate the precursor market and many of those got those precursors at the start. I remember one bragging on another site with screen shots with his inventory of Dusks and 900 gold … like 2 weeks into the game. You want to protect people like that over the other 2 million playing? Really?
As to what would I personally do? lol I would like to be able to do a dungeon and not worry about how much gold I am averaging while in there. I would LOVE to be able to do pvp and not think about I am losing money by doing it. As I said … PLAY THE GAME.
Change is coming and like it or not my suggestion isn’t a bad one compared to what we have or precursors being a quest item.
It has value because they are using it as a lure for their event, if they did it like you said that lure would be gone, and only those who are on will receive anything again increasing the lure. To have it always available reduces it’s value. Not to mention how do we know we will get the precursor we want this will jump kick the economy in many ways. Which is currently being limited by drops, probably further increase Cash to Gems to Gold, which is what anet wants. I’m not saying it’s a good thing but I imagine that is the plan.
You know what I say, crack it’s a hell of a drug. I would seek some help.
If they add more servers for nonplaying nonpaying players, their crazy. Transfer to one of the always high population servers then come back.
Transfer to Kaineng.

I’ve been trying to get onto Tarnished Coast for over a week now, but every single day, whether it’s the middle of the day, or the dead of night, it comes up as full.
Is there any hope of me ever getting onto Tarnished Coast? What would be the best times to try to xfer?
Might be out of luck it took me two weeks to get into the server I’m in it was full all the time. I just got luck one ridiculously early morning.
Totally just wait for the upcoming event, that’s what I’m doing. I do a bit of gather a dungeon here but really I’m just waiting.
Heck I would buy some of both don’t underestimate the importance of bank space I did.
Strip down naked and use only weapons you pick up from the environment. Problem solved.
To a certain extent I found the items to be worth it. As for the skill, in power it’s about equal to any other elite skill. The trick though, is that you never have to spend skill points to unlock it. Any alt you make, when they reach 30, will immediately have it available.
What items are worth anything, the influence? What do you get in return for giving a guild influence = nothing. Mini is a collectors thing only worth something if you were a collector or I suppose you could sell it not sure its value or if it can be sold. The Elites honestly ALL suck in this game. Not to sure why they are called Elites. Chalice of Glory for a drip of Glory, worthless. Golem Banker, that lasts for five days….guess it depends on how much loot you get that would be worth putting into your ridiculously small bank.
Probably the only thing worth anything is the Wizard’ kitten just cause you’d be pimpin the hat in the cities.
Honestly if your not level 80, it’s almost impossible to grind, unless your using the word grind in a new manner we don’t know about. Grinding means literally doing the same thing over and over like killing the same mobs. The events and heart quests are so varied.
i’m about to reach my 2000gems, do you think the DDU is worth the price?
i am asura gurdian so i have golem as elite skill, is the mistfire wolf stronger?
the rest of the items vanish so i’m wondering what do you really gain for the upgrade.thanks in advance
No its worth nothing. Literally nothing. /end
No way it is suppose to be one of the best armor skins in the game i didn’t spend 70g on it just so everyone can run around with it if you want go farm for it its what everyone else did why should it be different for you.
1:Buy Some mf gear get around 130% with just under 3g
2: Farm Southshun skelks for roughly an hour get between 3-8g depends on luck
3: Find a group who speed run Coe path 2,3 and Cof path 1,2 get around 3g just from doing the instances regardless of loot
4: Use tokens to buy lv 80 rares for 30each then salvage for ectocs
5: Gz you have just gained around 11g in around 2h 30ms
6: Repeat steps 2-4 until you have enough gold to buy what you want
7: Send me 15% of you daily G earned cus im awesome
8: Do not make threads like these again
Sounds exaggerated. Any dungeon is based on how fast you get a group. I’d like 1 explained because I think it cost me over 20 gold. At current prices. As for those runs its most like around 2 gold not 3g. Depending of course.
From my count you’d end up with the possibility of between 6 and 11 gold, still good granted.
I am genuinely lost on what there is to do aside from grinding in pve. I’m not raging, just want to do something else at this point 8|
Ya explain your situation a bit more, because the way you word this your not even max level yet.
Found this on a website, guess it answers your question
Severs pop status is calculated based on accounts per server, not people playing.
Thats not true. During primetime some are full while others are not depending on the servers peak players.
So a server may be at high during 12pm- to 5pm then from 5pm to 9pm be at full status drop off.
That right there pretty much proves your statement is false. Otherwise population status wouldn’t flux on a hourly basis and be reflected in the server selection.
Argue with this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Server-Populations/first#post703192
Hello everyone.
Connor, when you see a server FULL means that the people who’ve chosen that server as theirs, or players who have moved to that particular server, have reached the cap, independently of where did they create their accounts.
Answering to your second question: no, there is no chart that shows that kind of information at the moment, I am afraid.
Players who make the server their’s, aka move there, not logged on or online.
A possibility is that during certain times they use more servers, we don’t really know exactly what they are doing. It could be during these times you see the change. We don’t really know. Maybe due to this design there is a change in the pop cap at different times. Pure guess of course.

Severs pop status is calculated based on accounts per server, not people playing.
Why does it fluctuate at different times during the day? I’m not being defensive, I really want to know.
Not sure, I often wonder that myself. However that is the answer given by the devs themselves. I’m not sure about the fluctuation because the server I’m on now I waited two weeks to get on, aka it dropping from FULL.
So who knows whatever the fluctuation was it could still be players moving their characters. If all it takes is one player for FULL to go to HIGH, this wouldn’t be surprising.
(edited by Volomon.9147)
Well shouldn’t the price reflect the damage dealt, aka the effect of the weapon? If we go by that their already at a fair price. An exotic sword does like what 800 max, a GS 1100. I mean if were going to make the price of a GS double the sword should the GS do double the damage?
You basing the cost on how many you need instead of what it does.
Found this on a website, guess it answers your question

Ohya Chris Hansen approves.
You know what this means every bot must dress as a Order of Whispers member.
Heck I thought that’s what the exotics were. I mean Cultural Tier 1 <= Low Level, Tier 2 Medium Level, Tier 3 High Level.
Noob armor <= Literally low level, Exotics Med Level, Really the thing lacking is High Level stuff as far as armor is concerned.
As far as weapons go Noob weps <= Low level, Exotics/Mystic Others http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge/Other_Items Med Level, Legendary High level.
I don’t see anything missing.
