I agree that keys should NEVER go there. However the keychain tab should have sub categories such as dungeons, HoT maps etc and maybe even a favorite tab where you can move those important to you. Furthermore all silverwaste keys, crowbars, chak acid and exalted keys should be added to currency tab. Sorry for being off topic but would be better than just adding items to the material storage that is not even a big deal anyway.

Convinience option: Sell All/Salvage All

I think salvage all would be a bad idea. At the very least, if it does become a thing, it should be something you can disable in options or something. I tend to carry a lot of salvageable loot on alts, some of which is used as equipment (and some just because I’m a gorram hoarder) and I’m pretty confident I would accidentally salvage stuff I wanted to keep.

But if it’s a toggle-able option, then by all means, let folks salvage to their heart’s content.

Maybe i wasn’t clear but i thought that you could right click a salavge kit and then you had a drop down menu with what action you wanted to take. So it will not salvage all unless you specifically want it to

Mounts wouldn’t serve any purpose in Gw2. The run speed is much faster than most over mmos and you have waypoints all over already. Besides there would be some transistion issues going from mount to glider? I prefer glider. Besides the mount collection in wow was stupid. What gw needs is more gliders like pvp and ad infinitum that isn’t gem based. If you want Mounts go play another game.

Same gear for everything. I choose a path for each char and stick to it. I have a rev and mesmer with 140 AR so those are my options for fractal. I have a guardian and engi with ~ 110 AR so i can do fractals if i want but usually don’t. On the other hand my mesmer never sees the outside world, only fractals, LA and the pvp lobby ocasionally.
My engi is kinda my main but from a time prior to pistol condi pew pew so i made Predator and feel reluctant to put it in the bank. Because of that i don’t play him in high lvl fractals and raids as he’s in berserker gear, but i have great fun roaming open world and hot maps as well.
Note that i have made 4 fully ascended geared characters and 2 missing a few items. If you only have 1 acended set i would make whatever you would use for high lvl fractal. But in either case that would be either berserker, marauder or viper. The only place you need defensive stats are in pvp so all gear you craft should be offensive imo. If you really want some durabiltiy i say make all your armor marauder but don’t go further than that. Hope this helps

I’ve been holding off making another legendary for a while to see what was to come but now that nothing is “to come” I think it would be in order to polish the old legendaries that have been put time and effort in to make them more attractive.

Predator: has very weak footprints and compared to tiger bow i feel like they could at least be around the same size to make them somewhat visible. Also footfall bug on human male at least where the footfall spawns under terrain thus making them invisible when going up or downhill typically

Shield: add visual effects on shield skill use, this goes for all other offhand legs as well to make them more appealing.

Feel free to add to the list, these are the ones i’m aware of

Megaservers made the experience the same regardless of which server you and your friends randomly chose several years before that.

Though i understand the issue you are facing, megaservers are not the problem. Don’t know if you remember but say you were on a good map without megaservers and get a dc, you will get replaced instantly and get to say hello to an overflow map instead.
The solution at hand is rather a system that reserves your spot for say 2 mins after you log out/dc so you have a chance to get back in. Might even get a pop up asking if you want to join the same map i you are within the tineframe.

Ankdarkwolf, Darkmikau, Ballads, Spira, Caerbannog, Cysgod, you each posted a variant of an accusation I’ve seen many times over the past few months on the forums, something along the lines of, “AN shipped half an expansion with HoT.” I take issue with that. We shipped a new region full of content, a new mastery system, gliding, guild halls, a new profession, nine new elite specializations for existing professions, and more. Then we shipped precursor journeys for existing legendaries, and said, “We’ve been working hard on new legendary weapons, the first handful of which will be introduced in Heart of Thorns, with more to come in subsequent updates.” While I fully get that you’re disappointed today, this is not about us shipping half an expansion pack.

Mo

Dear Mike, it seems to me that you are too focused on the insults and not the messege they are trying to get across to you, and I take issue with that.
All the content of HoT is great. The new maps are great, but they need some adjustments, and until these adjustments happen they may feel half finished even though we’re talking about the 1% that needs tweaked. A good example is the tarir Meta event in AB. If i want a good map, i have to be there in good time and i do a trail and get an armor, and then there’s a 15min pointless waiting?! So if i don’t move around you lose the armor, if i move too far away i lose the armor. My conclusion is it is intended to waste a solid 15 mins every event to jump around in front of the gate? Where’s the fun here please explain?
Furthermore since a HoT maps reward gifts upon completion, necessary to craft legendaries, i find it kinda hard to back out of the legendary thing. You are pulling the red thread out of the HoT maps.

Engineer balance patch changes

in Engineer

Posted by: WeedyZeGreedy.8635

WeedyZeGreedy.8635

I posted the following in the official feedback thread but i realized that the discussion will be mostly left out so i thought i would bring it to the forum where people are more likely to show interest in the engineer.

First of, let my start by describing the “perfect specialization scenario” from my point of view:
Everytime you pick a trait you are left pondering if you should have chosen another in its place because they are all good picks.
I think it should be a goal to make all traits worth picking but that’s not the case at the moment.

In regard of the engineer changes let me say that the Power Wrench buff was right in place and the same goes for the scrapper changes. However, I feel disappointed about the rest of the Tool Specialization changes as they are not really a big deal. Thermobaric Detonation from the Explosives Specialization was also left out for some reason which is beyond my comprehension.

Thermobaric Detonation is laughable, the 10 seconds cooldown makes this, supposedly grandmaster worthy trait, completely useless. Let’s compare it to thief’s Bounding Dodger just to illustrate how ridiculously bad this skill. Damage numbers taken from http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/

Evasive Powder Keg traited with Thermobaric Detonation and Explosive Powder
- 449 base damage (the 35% bonus included)
- 10 Seconds Cooldown
- Blastfinisher
- 5 Targets 240 range
- 1 Stack of Vulnerability

Bounding Dodger
- 465 base damage
- No Cooldown
- Blastfinisher
- 5 Targets 180 range
- 10% Damage Increase for 4 seconds

I think Evasive Powder Keg is fine as an Adept Minor BUT when looking at this comparison i think it’s obvious that combined with Thermobaric Detonation it is too weak.
I don’t mind an elite grandmaster being stronger but at least make the trait a viable pick, as of now i see it as a pure filler trait which purpose is ranging from minimal to none.
By reducing the internal cooldown of Thermobaric Detonation to 1 or 2 seconds i think it would be good enough to pick as a grandmaster without outshining Bounding Dodger which should be the stronger trait.

I will still never use Takedown Round as the additional damage is minor when it’s blocked by a 10 second cooldown which is way too long for a skill like that to make any impact. Reduce the cooldown to 5 seconds i would consider it.

Adrenal Implant doesn’t feel very “Grandmastery” as it’s the same as constant vigor without the pros and cons coming with a boon. Sure it stacks with vigor but i don’t think a grandmaster is worth rolling around all the time with no additional effect. I was hoping something additional would be added to this trait. Since you didn’t come up with anything I suggest some reward for staying at full endurance which could be:

- Swiftness, 5 seconds at a 5 second interval when at full endurance (which would be a great life quality improvement compared to the current equip/unequip kit every 20 seconds to have constant swiftness from streamlined kits. This would also compliment Takedown Rounds if Streamlined kits were not a must have to get the swiftness).

- Condition removal at a set interval when at full endurance (1 every 10 second like the other classes).

I hope you will take this into consideration for upcoming balance changes.

Tbh i only see a problem regarding engineer using Kits as it’s impossible get legendary kit skins or any alternate skin for that matter, maybe effects could be on while using Kits but not in any other case

[Suggestions] Future Elite Specializations

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: WeedyZeGreedy.8635

WeedyZeGreedy.8635

Engineer – scientist
Scientist has a the unique class conditon nanobots, dealing damage over time (more damage than burning, but not possible to stack that many).
33% chance to apply 1 stack of nanobots with each hit.
Nanobots should be able to be scale with power through specializations thus giving the option of making a power build with 1 conditon doing some actual damage as well

Utility skills based around this conditon, e.g nanoinjectors: applying additional stacks of nanobots, nanocoating: giving engineer a stun break and conditon removal and conditon immunity for a few seconds.

Instead of giving engi a new weapon i suggest that rifle, pistol and shield get a “melee stance” when you use swap weapon, giving the weapons melee based counterparts, rifle remains power based and pistols condi.

Attatck combo should something like: pistol whip, pistol whip, point blank explosion shot.

As a person reading patch notes i recently noticed a lot of effort put into reducing visual noise which i think was needed even though it reduced the "coolness " of some abilities a bit.
Your next step though is to implement floating pvp rank symbols next to every player in the game!?
Teq is now a floating sea of colored squares! Besides i don’t care about pvp rank outside of pvp so do you really care more for pvp showoff value over being able to navigate a boss fight properly? This is the worst visual noise so far. Pvp rank belongs in pvp, nowhere else. Remove it from all PvE

Still want weapon swap

in Engineer

Posted by: WeedyZeGreedy.8635

WeedyZeGreedy.8635

Don’t expect a weapon swap. I believe engi was the last developed class, so as you can see in elixirs a lot of copy pasted skills from other classes. I was hoping hammer engi was going to be awesome but it isn’t, cause as you state, a ranged weapon other than nades is needed. Nades are either your thing or the worst weapon in game.
I’m outphasing my engineer cause i don’t believe it will ever change that much. Sure scrapper version 2 might be implemented in the future but it’s not gonna be a whole new class, just some tweak on top of what you have.

My advise is if you don’t like engineer in its current state (like me) then move on to something else cause no matter how much people complain and bring in constructive feedback, engineer will remain the same with at least 1 kit (but 2-3 in most cases) foeced down your throat in order to be viable.
A good example here is how the community was begging for no more minions as turrets were already there. Glad we got more minions..
Would a weapon swap fix this? Yes
Would a riflish kit fix it? Yes, though still limiting your utilty freedom.
Is either gonna happen? Nope

Conditon duration cap

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: WeedyZeGreedy.8635

WeedyZeGreedy.8635

After viper gear have become available i’ve grown increasingly interested in a condition build however i still fail at fully understanding the mechanic behind condition duration cap.
I’m aware that there’s a cap at 100% condi duration increase. Does this cap take all condition duration into consideration such as engineer’s pistol increase and necro scepter? If so that would mean with any of these weapons equipped (50%), a full viper set (around 40%) and condi duration sigil (10%) you would have reached the cap.
Now my problem here is the engi for example have an additional increase for bleed durarion by 33% from firearms which makes it go beyond. The last 33% will not be in use then, unless you are up against someone with condi duration reduction?
Hope you can clarify this for me

Precursor crafting. I don't get it . . .

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: WeedyZeGreedy.8635

When legendary crafting was first announced, it was talked about how the most frustrating part of obtaining a legendary weapon, was of course: The precursor.

https://youtu.be/gxLkfXwxLTs?t=34m49s

Now. This had me pretty excited, since throwing money at the TP was… Well, not fun. Now I finally completed the first collection for Zap. I got my pattern, learned it, and went to check and see what I needed to craft this item. It became immediately clear, that the cost of materials, was not going to be part of the world, but rather, the TP. I find myself at an impasse. Where moving forward requires me to do, what I had hoped I wouldn’t have to do.

I have two choices. To throw money at the TP. Or avoid crafting this precursor. I had expected, or I suppose hopped that moving through the collection would have me doing challenges, and working towards obtaining the item. Not just simply buying the materials off the TP. To make matters worse, the crafting items in question are ascended, which means: Time gating.

So I really just don’t understand it. I thought the idea behind the collection was to have players running around completing challenges to obtain this amazing item. Not throwing money at the TP, as if the collection just didn’t exist.

So you need to gather a fem more mats than for an acended weapon? What is tur problem here? You expected to get your precursor on release date? The idea was to remove the random element. So i think it is in a good place atm, you can fast forward with TP or you can grind mats yourself over time.

I read through the posts regarding juggernaut on revenant and as far as i can tell there are currently no animations on any of the weapon skills on the hammer. As the legendary Journey is a kinda big part of the expansion and as all the precursors have been polished, wouldn’t it make sense to give the actual legndaries a polish as well?
To me it seemed like the first legendaries were a dead project and now you just add a kitten rekindling.
All legndaries need to feel legendary and you should not be punished for making a first gen or an upopular one.
I agree that gen 2 should be much cooler but that doesn’t mean you should get some half finished underwhelming leg if you make one of the current ones. I’m gonna list the things that need fixing that i know of so please add your own lists if you feel any other effects on the current ones should be adressed:

- Juggernaut weapon skill animations for revenant
- Flameseeker of prophecies weapon skill animations for guadian, warrior, mesmer, engineer and revenant
- Predator footprints dissappear through terrain as human male, they completely dissappear when rifle is drawn. Tested as asuran and charr and doesn’t occur in either case.

so what does everyone think of scrapper?

My relation to scrapper is a bit ambivalent. As i’ve been maining engi for the last year i feel this is the end of the road. I play scrapper with rifle in fractals and it’s good but at this time i have completely given up using hammer. The new mobs in the new maps are moving and jumping a lot so rifle’s range is much more reliable damage than chasing mobs down all the time.
This wouldn’t be a problem if you could just switch to a decent ranged weapon for these fights but elixir gun lacks damage at range when you are a power build and i really hate grenades with all the clicking and missing. It’s a shame cause i really liked the hammer skillset, but i feel too much at a disadvantage using it. My solution is playing revenant for now. Scrapper is in a bad place and i hope some good changes will come down the road, until then i will invest more time in other classes

Thank you for stating this. The biggest problem in HoT is suffering is not crashes or any of the other things being whined about in the fora but closemindedness and inability to adapt.
