Orr being green could very much have something to do with cleansing of orr. Or at least i think thats a good chance to show that it actually did something
Desolation
I have to second that the boat has very much Canthan feel. All though we’ve seen that similar model in labyrinthine cliffs already. I do expect the expac direct us towards elona, but we shall see.
Desolation
I bet those ballistas came in handy. They seem to be well placed after all.
Desolation
Do you need to own Season 2 to enter the Silverwastes? With Season 3, the maps have all been gated by the story, but Dry Top and Silverwastes are just normal zone lines. I guess the final map could always be accessible for free if they want it to, but since I’ve been unlocking everything as it comes out, I’m not actually sure how it worked.
You don’t but like I said anet changed how stuff works. They need to get that money in, and would make no sense for the expansion if the story doesn’t connect on some level with S3.
Desolation
I suspect that we will unmask multiple Gods in Episode 6(namely Melandru who’s hinted to be allied with Balthazar due to the vine that helped him distract us and Grenth).
What vine? and who’s speculating that?
first time I heard we and grenth were distracted from balthazar by a vine.. when was grenth next to us, when was there a vine.. what are you even on?
I think he just typed it poorly, what i think he meant was that Melandru was behind the vine that pulled the asura contact at the start of the new map away from us. Then he mentioned Balty and with Grenth he meant that the three now mentioned Gods are in this plot together.
And @Jokubas that’s how S2 worked as well so it could and most likely will be a bridge towards the next expansion. You don’t have to buy S3 separately. Just need to log in during that allocated 2-3month time to unlock it. S2 worked bit differently due to shorter time span between content but I imagine if they spread it out to 2-3 months it would work just like the current season.

Yea I feel like we are gonna have to fake fight Braham in the last episode to stop him from killing Jormag.
That would be a really easy final fight…
Not a final fight, more like first fight after the initial dialogues.
Desolation
Yea I feel like we are gonna have to fake fight Braham in the last episode to stop him from killing Jormag. After that something happens and we save his life or something helping bring us closer as a group. Suddenly (insert magical sounds) something happens towards the crystal desert and we head there for the final map before expansion.
I don’t really believe in the gods being incognito around us but would expect like Anise or Jennah to have something to do with Lyssa.
We do know that Lyssa is involved with Balty cause of the mirror so there could be some “Mist War” happening with gods being overthrown. Who knows.
If worst comes to worst we are heading towards Nightfallish type of ending for the expansion with some of the guild members ascending to Gods and what not.
Personally don’t want to believe any of what I wrote except for the first part but everything would fit to the anet type of storytelling. I think the biggest reason we’ve been all over the place this LS is due to the new maps. They wouldn’t fit the story line if they were cluttered together.
Desolation
Because you’re wrong, and most games aren’t balanced like you discussed. Most games are balanced like I discussed, with story content being pretty difficult to mess up, and only optional difficulty modes being a stronger challenge.
Need examples of these games that are balanced around the easy mode. You can’t just throw statements out there without backing it up with examples. And it should be you convincing us that it indeed needs a nerf and not us convincing you that it doesn’t. As you are clearly in the minority in this one.
You said damage was issue, this would be true if there was no space to maneuver on the platform but as there’s all the space you could ever need plus you can glide away in case of the worst case scenario
Desolation
I think Jory not joining was part of the ruse to spy on Laz so she should still be in. It’s just a matter of asking. If she survived that last attack.
Desolation
There’s a trend that when people don’t like something they are very vocal about it on the forums. When everything is fine the same people don’t come to the forums.
Trust me if this was an issue people would have been here crying about it since Tuesday. Instead people are more concerned about Legendary Armor and the story itself so the boss battle isn’t an issue. Otherwise there would have been multiple threads and they would have been merged.
And no having bad luck isn’t a reason to nerf something. This is bit exaggerated but having both of those mobs crit you at the same time is like you complaining about not winning the powerball on your first try and wanting better odds.
So try to give some solid reasons why there should be nerfs otherwise there is no point in this thread.
Desolation
What you are asking for is easy mode. Not the normal mode you think it is. Even if your suggestion went through there would have to be three different modes to satisfy people who just want to press f to kill the final boss, for people who want to do some work with a risk for the reward and for people who currently do the challenge modes.
No, just the two. If you want to have an even harder mode, then you can be the one to argue in favor of it, but it has nothing to do with the argument I’m making here.
Failing is part of playing games, that’s what makes them fun. If you’d only succeed in everything you do in the game that would become boring pretty fast.
Your opinion doesn’t extend to everyone, and again, if you feel that way, that’s what challenge motes are for.
Boss is fine as it is, no solid arguments have been put out to make it easier. Compared to the Caudecus fight where there were solid arguments for making it tad easier.
Entirely subjective.
You haven’t given any arguments why it should be easier as in what mechanics need fixing in the boss encounter. You just had bad luck with the hounds possibly critting you, doesn’t mean the chance to get critted should be lowered.
If you don’t include the third mode you are gonna alienate the biggest part of players. Because either the challenge mode will be clearly too hard for people to complete solo. Or it will be like this current mode which is still easy and not challenging enough for the people who really want to challenge themselves.
Desolation
Oh kitten, i just realized we have to stop Braham from killing Jormag. Now that’s gonna be a fight to look for. Unless anet decides PC is gonna work his charm and slick talking skills, which by the way are the best, everybody knows that, to confirm Braham from not killing a dragon. Now that would be hard to swallow for Braham obviously so he’ll get mad at us and think we are one with the dragons now and tries to kill us.
Whadda ya think?
Sorry for off topic
Desolation
You clearly misunderstand how games work if your first thought while playing or failing was “this obviously needs to be easier” instead of “what can i do differently to beat this”. Now if you have used everything you have and asked other possibly more experienced players for tips and still failed. Then it could be argued that it needs to be easier.
Challenge mode isn’t there for people to get normal difficulty content, it’s there to offer that extra mile for players that want to really challenge themselves and push their skills to the limit.
What you are asking for is easy mode. Not the normal mode you think it is. We don’t know what the effect on them will be as of yet. I don’t think the pics are the best possible and just give the general idea.
Personally like the medium armor the least cause it mainly reminds me of arah and bladed armor mix. But might look different on other races.

So Lazarus not being the real Laz confirmed?
Desolation
Sneakily points to dis and hopes anet didn’t make it just to have something cool for the episode. Also why didnt mordy in hot had any dragon luitenant like he did in lw 2? (A plea for more actual dragon luitenants
)
The upper pic looks like something the Charr would make as a weapon and lower more like the dragon I’d want to fight. Like you described later on half above and half underground. Preventing it from rising up and scorching every living thing.
Desolation
Resistance is hard to get for longer periods of time. Which is why it’s fine as it is. It’s not like it’s permanent with SoI as it used to be or close to permanent. There’s a clear counter to it called boon rip, so no issue really.
But do tell me in what style of play does the issue exist in?
Desolation
Any of you guys tried to do the last fight with the miniature tonic. I feel like using that gives you way more space to see in the last room. At least worked for me.

Also, for ele as you have one of the lowest base health pools some mix of Soldier gear and berserkers should do just fine to survive. If not go full soldiers. Power Vitality Toughness, it’s good for people who are still learning the timings for dodges and blocks. Because it gives you some buffer to play with
Desolation
From the gw1 wiki "Lazarus split himself up into several aspects and imbued them within members of the broken White Mantle, claiming them to be a blessing. The plan was to wait until the threat of Abaddon and the Titans had passed, and then free each aspect one by one until Lazarus had regained his full power. Unfortunately, he found that freeing each aspect would kill its host.
Lazarus cared little for this collateral damage, but the host of the final aspect, former Justiciar Naveed, cared quite a bit. Having long since realised that Lazarus’ gift was no blessing, he fled to the Tarnished Coast, where he sought the help of the talented asura Glayvin. Together, they were able to severely damage the aspect, but not remove it. When Lazarus eventually came to claim the corrupted aspect, he felt his power turn on him. He fled to go into recovery, but not before vowing vengeance against “countless generations”. "
Meaning it is most likely Lazarus, just that he can’t recover until he has the last aspect which I assume was successfully switched out anyway. And he’s just playing the role of a good guy until he finds the last aspect, then turns against us and we get to fight him.
Desolation
Hawt take here. So in the OG GW1, Lazarus split himself into several aspects which he gave to several members of the broken up white mantle in order for him to survive the titans that were released on Tyria. In order for Lazarus to regain his true form, the host that held on to the aspect given by Lazarus had to die. Think of Harry Potter with the horcruxes. What if Caudecus WAS the final aspect. Once he was killed, the final aspect was released. Maybe Lazarus was able to be awoken using the other pieces, but it wasn’t his true, most powerful form. Caudecus could represent the aspect of power and greed which was absorbed into Lazarus after his death and ultimately corrupts Lazarus upon completing his final form.
I think it was established that he learnt from his mistake when using human’s as vessels for his soul and instead used artifacts as the vessel. So Caudecus was most likely not a vessel.
Reading back at gw1 wiki though it seems like the 80% theory is plausible just as much that it isn’t Lazarus. Or more like 65% in case he hasn’t recovered from the damage Justiciar Naveed did to his soul from before.
Now the real question is, what does he want.
Desolation
Bauer double-crossed Caudecus and resurrected the real Lazarus.
I just had this pointed out to me – it’s in Bauer’s Memoirs, supported by Grand Savant Valis the Learned’s Reasearch Journal. The whole “it’s not Lazarus” is a feint… it IS the real Lazarus the Dire.
Genius trick, but someone spotted it!
I don’t know, as seen from Bauer’s memoirs, he had great dislike for Xera. So can’t imagine why he’d go and send all of the pieces to the keep.
Then us as the players raided the keep and as Grand Savant’s Journal shows he feared the worst so we can imagine the pieces of Lazarus were also headed there.
If it was the real Lazarus don’t you think he would have slayed Caudecus the instant he saw him. For being non-believer and trying to use white mantle for his own uses.
Still find it hard to believe it’s the new Lazarus, but that’s at least something more than saying it’s him without backing it up.
But what I was really after was to know the reasoning for 80% Lazarus people.
Desolation
So whats the basis on the Lazarus being actual Lazarus, that’s what I want to hear.
Desolation
And I had all these problems WITHOUT any adds in the room besides Caudecus himself. I don’t think the point of solo living world content is to provide an elite challenge.
It’s to provide a fun event for all the players who paid for the expansion. The end.
Do that, and I wouldn’t have any real complaints worth saying on this forum at all.
I imagine this was aimed at me, I’m not saying everyone should be super pro hardcore player. It’s just that what’s the point of having end boss fight if you can kill it easily like any regular mob. Kind of what happened with killing Zhaitan, really lackluster boss fight and no one was happy. I’ve had harder time killing champions than killing Zhaitan. So much logic right?
I can agree with the people saying it wasn’t good or challenging fight. It was tedious, for me at least. Put some deeps/cc on the boss, see special action key, use it, continue, break bar, kill mobs, rinse and repeat.
And the reason people are getting smashed around the room is cause of not using the special action key.
But if this is just an issue of you running out of repair canisters and want repair anvil in the instance, then I don’t know if asking for a nerf is the right thing to do.
edit, Just now saw what you wrote. Sorry to hear that you had such awful experience with the instance. If you need help or anything of the sort feel free to ask me.
Desolation
(edited by Weli.4568)
I dont know where people have the issue here, the special action key was easy enough to react to. But I can understand the increased reaction time anyway. Only issue I had was the Jade Wall/Bow. Due to lack of cc at times.
Dont really understand why people want their hand held. Its the “final boss” so extra hand holding just feels weird. True the room could be bit wider but it’s not small to the extent that you don’t have room to dodge the attacks.
The mobs are fine, especially now that they removed one of the Jade thingies.
More so than that if you are always screaming for nerfs when you encounter bit harder content, just shows that you are not willing to adapt or learn. For example someone mentioned the mobs spawning, after few wipes you’d think you’d learn to kill the adds first and then focus back on caudecus.
TLDR. End fight is fine, learning curve is curve not a straight line, learn to adapt, less qq more pew pew,
Desolation
That golden armor can be an illusion.
But, still, all this theories are overcomplicated, based on lucky coincidences and rise more questions that answer.
While theory than Lazarus is just 80% Lazarus is based on a probable idea: Caudecus f—-ed up and made a mistake. He is a human, not even a scientist, and has a huge self-conceit (he thinks of himself a lot more than he is). Between improbable odds and human stupidity, human stupidity is an anwser almost every time.
Just as probable that it isn’t Lazarus for all we know.
Desolation
I lolled so hard with all the sass Canach had in this episode. Was perfect.
Would be cool to see more character development on the other “heroes” too. Not like Braham though cause that was just 0 to 100 real quick. From Smash everything to Sad you dont know me and smash everything Braham.
Desolation
This E person seems to know everething that is going on in Tyria. And Caudecus messaged him too apparently.
Why you ask? To take over the world of course.
Its just as unlikely that this fake Laz is actually Laz. Because I think it was established that it needed all of the 5 artefacts for Laz to resurrect. Would make no sense to tell us that and then say oh it was Laz but not all of him. No sense. Sad.
About the explosions, there are powerful artefacts in Tyria that would surely be able to absorb the explosion. And it wasnt really absorbed as we saw in the cinematic of bloodstone fen. Huuge esplosion.
Theories people, dont shoot them down right away.
Desolation
Lots of people could pull off the disguise, but who can absorb all that bloodstone energy? It’s a pretty short list, if we stick to the people we already know.
Personally, I think it really IS Lazarus. Or, rather, 80% of him. The attempt to reform him worked, but part of him is missing. That would explain why he’s as powerful as he is, and yet acting much different than people expected him to. Maybe it’s even been replaced with something else, something that mellowed him out some.
That is my take on it as well. It also explains why Caudecus was so shocked to see him in Out of the Shadows. I think he expected his sabotage to completely destroy the ritual and it didn’t work.
Or it is an impostor with strong magic placed on them to look like Lazarus. And as we haven’t had Kasmeer with us who can reveal the strong mesmer illusions. It is highly likely that it isn’t Lazarus. Which would make Caudecus just as shocked to see something that shouldn’t have been.
Desolation
Why would guards be afraid? Its not like you have to run burn condi based build.

Id be down to pay for this, shared instance of old LA. Dont even care if you couldnt glide in there and what not.
Desolation
Hyped for the next episode as well. Cant come soon enough. We will most likely go to Isle of Janthir as hinted during the story maybe follow up on what Lazarus and Marjory are up to.
As for the length of this season, I’d say if the episode drops on the 24th there could be 5 more episodes before the expansion launches. Making it total of 8 thus following the previous ls in length. Plus it would give enough time for people to play it thru and have the expansion drop in October.
Buut these are just lucky guesses that Ive been thinkin about during this one month and half wait period.
Desolation
Trying to find logic here. If the episode comes out 24th it would go with the 2 month period with PAX East as well so we could expect announcement around that time I suppose. Didn’t they announce the expac at PAX East last time too? If so there would be enough time for one or two more episodes before the big boy drops.
But if it is Feb 7th I find it being pushed too far making the possible announcement dates at expos go low and making the order bit wonky. But that could be just me. Idk
I think the Heart of Thorns expansion was announced at PAX South in January. Playable demos were offered at PAX East in March, I believe.
That could be the case. Couldnt see Anet at the PAX south list so Im guessing theyll do announcement at PAX East. Or at least hope they do.

He didnt even break the tooth, he just cracked it. The arrow didnt even go completely through. This must mean that he thinks he has the power but in the end it will fail him.
Desolation
Then HoT killed Eir, the most iconic Norn,
I think it’s fair to say the most iconic Norn title goes to Jora
Desolation
Braham is all about emotion in this episode, and honestly i don’t like it. Now that he had cracked the tooth, the norns will follow him into battle with Jormag. He said that he won’t give Jormag another minute, he won’t let another person’s mother to be killed. And yet, if he lead those norns into battle, that is exactly what he will do, not just another person’s mother, but father, or son.
Will he take responsibility for that?
Will he face those people when he came back and tell them that their mother, father, son had died following him into a losing battle?
(that is if Jormag has a twisted mind to have him chained up and witness all the norns that followed him to be killed or turned, while he can’t do anything and then set him loose as an example to other Norns)
I understand the Norns are a warrior race, but there is bravery, and then there is stupidity. I don’t think Braham quite understand that concept.I’m expecting for Braham to try to lead them, only for there to be a massacre with heavy casualties, with Braham and Rox being the only survivors. That guilt will be the only thing that could possibly knock him to his senses.
Because right now Braham has kittened me off and I WANTED SO HARD for the PC to punch him hard onto the ground, chew him out, and mention the names of EVERYBODY from our PS (or just canon) who died that we knew during this war. I think that would hit him harder than anything…because we don’t forget those who fell, we never will.
Wouldn’t it be more interesting if Braham gets fixated on doing this his way and Rox leaving him and joining us cause she smart?
Desolation
Wait, are we talking about living story season 2? Cause that was easy peasy. Got to have some challenge in the game no?
I’m glad it was easy for you. I think there is plenty of challenge in the game, the story should be more accessible so everyone can enjoy it.
Its not hard to the extent where you have to grind it out to get through, just learn the mechanics and voila you are gucci.
Desolation
I see it going down like this.
First Braham rallies the norn and Rox to fight jormag. Lots of people die, Rox comes back to our side being the smart one. Braham goes all boo hoo, I hate you I love you.
Then he’s consumed by hate and it turns into Destiny’s Edge vs Dragon’s Watch or what ever the new guild is called. We hopefully get to fight Braham and he realizes he’s just a weak emo boy who cant control his motions and oedipus complex.
He wants vengeance and goes to Jormag for unlimited power and we get to kill him(finally) and while we are at it killing the dragons too.
No?

If you can’t que all 4 maps 24/7 then yes.
Disagree very strongly. Having every map filled to the brim forces people into playing in a certain way. Having a variety of map populations is for the better; a variety in activity levels lets players who enjoy the low-pace times do what they like. Map size does a similar thing but can only do so much with a fixed number of objectives per map.
False, it is a choice to blob up or not.
