I’m not having fun with all these puzzles.
I don’t play MMO’s or RPG’s to have to do puzzles. That’s what puzzle games are for.
I couldn’t agree more, if I wanted to play puzzle games, I’d break out my NES system.
New update - Network Error on Connection
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Widowmaker Z.4802
I’m getting an error, this app can’t run on your PC. How broken is this update? I can’t even launch the game now.
Mining, I still got shards for dailies after, and I imaging you can still buy the shards from doing hearts.
I got about 50 or so and the nodes disappeared and it appears to be account wide.
So long as you’ve done Chapter 1 on a character, why not open it up for the account? Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that how the map for Part 3 works?
I can’t confirm it at the moment, but I believe all the Season 3 maps are locked unless the character progresses through the story or buys the portal map.
It is not locked for Bitterfrost, once I completed the 1st part on one character, I can just walk my alts thru the portal. The other new maps are locked until you do the 1st part of the story.
Well people yell when a new thread gets started when others exists about the same thing.
You can’t trade/mail money in BDO, yet there are gold sellers there……
Since Anet sells gems that can be converted to gold, people can pretty much buy almost anything they want, doesn’t mean they bought gold from a gold seller.
After playing since head start, I left the game about 2 weeks after HoT release and happily playing other games.
So either HoT isn’t attracting people or able to hold people’s interest enough to keep playing on these maps, or the megaserver is still bugged,
It’s not bugged (well it might be in some ways, but not relevant for this discussion), people are leaving maps intentionally.
If there are 120 people, let’s say the game puts 40 on each map. But only Map A wants to do the meta event, Maps B and C have people doing map completion, adventures, AP hunting, mastery farming, etc. So 20 people each leave Maps B and C to do the meta event on Map A. Now Map A is at max population and Maps B and C appear completely deserted. But that’s what all 120 players wanted.
My point is, for a newly released expansion, none of the maps should have a low population.
The low population maps you refer to after people leave, should end up being re-populated if there are a lot of people playing on the HoT maps, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Utilizing the LFG system makes HoT a million times better. It’s pretty necessary to use.
It’s pretty sad then if you need the LFG tool to make HoT better. If things were done right or fixed, it shouldn’t be necessary.
You don’t, you could play with a guild or “alliance”. But since it’s an MMO, LFG is the easiest way to find people to play with.
What you’re saying is sort of the equivalent for “you shouldn’t need to use LFG to be able to play dungeons/fractals/raids.” You don’t of course, but it’s a very quick and easy way to do it.
On the other hand, you don’t have to complete map-wide meta events. I’ve spent 98% of my time in HoT on my own, just enjoying the maps, exploring, getting achievements and mastery points, and so on. And I’m sure the meta-event maps are glad I did not taxi to them and take up a pop slot.
You’re reading way too deep into what I said. You shouldn’t need the LFG tool to find people or a populated map, especially on a newly released xpac., they should be populated period if it’s any good.

From Guild Leader to Guild Beggar in HoT flat

Can you at the very least explain why you want your fully unlocked guild hall yesterday?
Because I don’t get all these newfangled entitled instant gratification lines of thinking.
It pretty much says to get back to where they were before HoT with the guild buffs, seeing as how the buffs they already had/earned were taken away, or the requirements changed and it is more costly.
I agree with number 3 about the ranger pets, but I’m not worried about it, I can do without them.
About number 4, the problem I have with the mastery system isn’t the XP, you get that from just playing the game, it’s just going to be slow and take time. What I have an issue with is gaining enough mastery points to unlock them.
We’re not only behind a huge XP wall (which I don’t have a problem with) we’re also behind a mastery point wall. It looks like most of the points are tied to achievements and I’m not one to go chase achievements, but it looks like I’m going to be forced to do them if I want to unlock more masteries.
The way I see it, this is no different then if they had raised the level cap by 10 levels, it might actually be worse because of the amount of XP needed. The only difference would be the gear, but maybe they could have found a way to have the gear level up with us if they don’t want a gear treadmill.
They at least need an option to put them on passive, I’ve had mine just take off and attack things like misquotes.
*You were not expected to be playing through HoT the first time with the Elite Spec,
2nd play through? This isn’t an arpg, I assume you’re talking about the story. How many people are going to play through it more than once on one character? Yea some will to complete the achievements and what not, but it’s not expected that people play through a 2nd time with the same character.
Why didn’t they disable the tournament ticket merchant instead of the proving scroll merchant, if the exploit is because of spending the tournament tickets to buy consumables.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]

What gets me about the hero points/elite spec is that I had almost 2 stacks of those skill point scrolls. Then they changed them to hero points and took the scrolls and turned them into shards, so if they hadn’t done that, I would have had enough to fully unlock the elite spec on the Reverant.
A lot of us probably had a lot of scrolls saved, they take them away and then come back now and say, you have to earn 400 to unlock the elite spec.
Nothing mentioned in the patch notes about it :/
How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor?

Fun Factor? maybe a 4/10, I don’t find gated content fun.
I was thinking the same thing, once everyone gets what they want/need, a lot of them won’t bother to go back there. As it is right now, I don’t see a lot of people in Tangled Depths or Dragon’s Stand. Most everyone seems to be focused on the 1st two maps to get masteries leveled and as many hero points as possible.
I basically got what I wanted, the Mistward armor, I’m not going to bother to try and max the elite specs on any of my toons, so I really don’t have a reason to go back.
Instead of posting a wall of useless text complaining about about the complaints people have, how about you make a guide on how to max an elite spec and all masteries on a new toon like a Reverant, not an existing one, without having to repeat any content to get there.
Found an issue with waypoints because of the dots showing guildies on maps. I can’t use the waypoint if they are standing on it, I’m not able to click on it no matter how close I zoom in the map.
Still crashing for me, the color of the graphics for the map and hero panel got all blocky and odd colored, then it crashed.
Release date makes sense, it’s over due. The 2 big guys are there, day after 3rd anniversary. There’s really nothing else Mike and Colin would be present to announce that doesn’t normally get announced on the web site by the devs.
Ultimate here, was going to buy gems when the xpac released, now I don’t have to.
I would have done the same thing probably if I saw a new set of armor unlocked in the wardrobe, I wouldn’t call finding an unlocked armor skins in my wardrobe and equipping it an exploit. Now if I had done something purposely to unlock them, then maybe that would be an exploit
I don’t know what is wrong with some people around here, it seems like every other time I come here, there’s someone crying for a ban on something stupid.
For all we know, maybe Anet gave it as a reward to people who participated in the beta since we have no official word one way or the other, I doubt this is the case though.
Both GW and GW2 are having login issues.
Even if they disabled tomes, I will still get to 80 without leaving the city. So disabling them isn’t going to stop me from getting to 80 on day 1.
The xpac is about 4 to 6 months away, what we saw tonight might not be quite what we get when it’s released.
And I forgot the part about people pinging a waypoints for events only to get there just as it ends. I end up spending as much time porting all over the map as doing them lol.
Well since I hit 10k ap, I’m done doing them, not worth the aggravation of trying to tag mobs with 100 people around or getting the fractals double wammy for pve.
And can ANet please stop trying to shove doing Fractles down our gullets. 2 Fractles for the PvE Dailies on 01/25/2015.
agreed, the only way today to get them done by just doing pve, we have to go into fractals.

yes, take my money now.
I think we’ll get an xpac, but not the type a lot of people are hoping for. I think we’ll see most of Magumma opened up and maybe the crystal desert. Either a dungeon or teq type fight for Mordemoth. No new playable race or new class.
Maybe guild halls, maybe new weapons or classes will be able to use weapons they couldn’t use before.
I only login for the reward and dailies if I bother doing them. At this point an expansion would be about the only reason I would login and actually play, if there isn’t one, I’ll probably stop logging in completely.
Don’t like the changes, well at least there is no reason for me to login daily now if I don’t get laurels with the dailys.
It was initially changed so as not to discourage level 80 players from going to lower-level zones.
Now with Ascended armor requiring lower level mats, it probably should change back.
Exactly, a long time ago people were complaining about getting drops equal to the level of the zone they were in instead of their character’s level and they changed it. Now with ascended crafting, it’s a pain tying to get the lower level cloth and leather we need to craft ascended armor.
You know, I would post all my problems with this part of hte patch, especially that Tequatl, for example, only spawns:
1. At 7:30AM, I am asleep.
2. At 1PM – I am working or taking a nap if it’s a day off.
3. At 10PM – I have other engagements this late in the evening, including going to bed for work.
I’m pretty much in the same boat, I won’t be able to make these times. The only event I’d be able to do is the Karka Queen at 9pm est time.
I don’t like this whole schedule thing at all. At the very least the times should be rotated so the mega-events will start at different times. But the problem I see with that is if we don’t have a schedule posted daily, weekly or monthly, we won’t know when they’ll start.
Broken for me on BG
Ritualist Elite Kurzick and the Ritualist along with it.
Last time I checked, we weren’t required to purchase this from the Gem Store. So why so much hate towards Anet?
PS – It’s only 56 Gems when you buy in bulk. That’s pretty cheap!
That works out to 2.78 gold each right now, still too much.
Too much as opposed to what? It’s a convenience item. If you like it, buy it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. But if you like it and can’t afford it, wait for a sale. That’s what I do for Character Slots, Bag expansions, or even BL Keys.
Some people would like to switch specs a lot depending on the situation, reset 10 times you’re looking at 27g give or take, for $10 in gems if you use rl money to buy gems, you can reset 11 times. That’s not a lot for the gold/money.
People call it a convenience item, it should have been in the game from the start with the option to at least reset in all towns and outposts for the same price it is at the trainer, even a little more would be acceptable.

It’s a convenience item. Most of these types normally don’t provide any value to you other than convenience. It’s no different than the infinite mining picks and such that nobody seems to have issues with yet also do not provide you any value other than convenience.
If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
These are 70 gems for one time use, there’s a big difference between these and infinite harvesting tools which you make 1 purchase and never run out.
I don’t think the books will work once you unlock the trait tiers. If i remember right, I bought one by accident and couldn’t use it.
For 70 gems, right now it’s 4.12 gold, that is a bit steep for a 1 time use.
I know you can visit the class trainer, that doesn’t help if I’m in CS or FGS, then I have to port back to LA and then back to where I was.

I wanted an option to change traits out in the world or at least in towns/outposts, I would have no problem paying in game money, but this being a cash shop item is a joke.
Yea this is pretty much a non-event for me, I really don’t like to do the dungeons in this game.
