It was 6 months 12 days, wrong yet again.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
Base forward movement speed incombat is 210 u/s. Well of suffering has radius of 240 and pulses per second. Swiftness has a very good chance of negating a damage pulse over base combat speed.
Watch any liadri fight to establish that at least some projectiles are able to be avoided using WASD movment. Swiftness will directly affect the range at which you are able to avoid some projectiles.
There is no notification when you successfully avoid an attack using swiftness. So just because I get an evade or block on one attack does not mean swiftness did not help avoid other attacks.
Swiftness is a balance knob in combat and it does have value. You can’t replace it with scripted movement skills, without creating huge balance issues. It would be the same as trying to replace all cripples with chill. Chill is a much better movement debuff, that doesn’t mean cripple has no value or isn’t a more balanced option in some cases.

I should have elaborated more, my bad.
I tested it on the thief mob in Heart of the mists. I took soothing disruption and burning fire as traits, but no other condi clears. I would let the thief put on conditions and when the cleansing fire procced i would pop armor of earth for a timer.
The thief mob puts up 3 conditions fairly regularly, so I would watch my timer and wait for burning fire to proc again. Burning fire seems to have a cool down in the mid 40’s.
I realize this isn’t a very accurate test. I should have got someone else to help me and tested with and without soothing disruption. It was more of just a curiosity for my WvW staff build and that was enough for my purposes.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
Just out of curiosity did the change to conditions and and boons no longer affecting movement skills, not include quickness and slow?
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
From some very rudimentary testing I don’t believe burning fire is a 32 s cond cooldown.
Seemed to be in to the mid to high 40s. Has anyone tested it more accurately?
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
What if we rolled the charge up to use an overload and the cooldown after using an overload into one timer? So basically U could use an overload as soon as U entered that attunment but at high attunment recharge. The flip side being the longer U stay in that attunmet the shorter the recharge when U do use the overload.
I find both the water and earth interesting Utilities but very situational. Asking us to predict 5 seconds in advance when we may need them devalues them. With the 5 second warm up, I think to make them reasonably useful they would have to be buffed to the point where they would be way OP
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
Disagree with the OP’s evaluation of in combat swiftness. As others have said kiting melee, line of sighting range, avoiding aoe pulse circles, all effected by swiftness. Swiftness is very much a great defensive boon against some builds. I do not agree that most builds in PvP inherently have perma swiftness or can obtain it without huge sacrifice to the viability of said build.
WvW roaming is another matter, since there is so much land traversal involved. Many builds feel that swiftness or 25% speed increase are of higher priority for roaming around and staying away from zerges that do have 100% out of combat swiftness.
Out of combat movement speed and the boon swiftness, though they do overlap are two separate issues. Even if they gave us all a higher base out of combat speed, that could not be augmented by boons or other sources. I would still value swiftness in combat.

I don’t even play my necro that much and I would buy a skin pack in heartbeat. Also I would pay money for a kit pack for my engie and a pack on my Elemetalist that changed the wrist atunement bracelet to something more substantial.

Hmm we seem to have some sort of disconnect Witcher. All I meant was that if they apply the new defiance to transformations (conjecture) then blinds will drain your defiance bar. This would be quite a buff to Nado.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
I should of been more clear, I meant the new break bar. The break bar will replace defiance and I beleive I read that this would be used for players in some form. Transforms are prime for this. So Nado will no longer have stability but this new bar instead. I don’t have clue if blind will be treated different between mobs and players.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
If it is the same as defiance bar for champ mobs blind is considered a cc. I don’t know if the player version will count blind the same way.

I like your premise, but think it’s a little bit too powerful. building on your idea.
Elemental Great Sword
Obsidian strikes: auto attack
3 stike chain, mellee
First 2 attacks damage plus 1 stack of bleed. 1/2 second cast
Final stike high damage plus 3 seconds of weakness 3/4 second cast
Skill 2 fiery eruption
keep the same
Skill 3: Frost whirl
1/4 second cast 7 second cool down
Same as fiery whirl with 2 seconds of chill
Skill: 4 Lightning strikes twice.
25 second cool down,instant
Lightning flash to target deliver an updraft
(Must have a target, maybe add 1/4 second activation before updraft)
Skill 5: Storm of elements
40 second cool down 1 second cast, number of targets 5
Duration 5 seconds 5 pulses
Pulls targets toward you 600 range
Storm randomly applies burning, chill or blindness once every second and launches 10 random lightning bolts
240 radius
(This ones probably too OP, but I like it)

I’m actually quite happy with the way staff plays. The only change I would make is make lava font a 2 second field and give it an initial dmg tick and maybe add 1 second to the cool down.
Upside to this is on fights where your enemy is static “and there are a lot” This would lower staffs Dps and team might stacking ability. On fights with moving targets the damge tick on cast would probably up your dps a bit.
My one concern is in PvP. This would give you 2 seconds less area control with lava font. In Pvp giving some classes 2 seconds more melee uptime on you is a death sentence.

Well they have been updating dungeon mechanics to make some fights less stack and whack. They’ve also made reflects less of a hard counter to some boss mechanics. I have to believe that FG 4 is probably on the chopping block in some form. Be it through direct nerf or more boss mechanic changes. Imagine if bosses put up A high retaliation tick.
I personally would like to see the fire trail on the 4 skill removed and maybe give the 2 skill a direct damage component.

There is no logic to it. Many classes have utilities that grant immunity, they can’t be stripped. In the same utility line many classes also have utilities that grant stability they can be stripped. Stances, cantrips, elixirs, doesn’t matter that is the general rule.
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do
Why did you choose the ellementalist cantrip mistform to compare balance stance to and not amor of earth? Amor of earth is also cantrip ( Elle’s unique thing) and gives protection stability and breaks a stun. It even has a neat little graphic of floating rocks circling. Guess what, it can be stripped. Seems like you are picking and choosing skills to make your point. Does balance stance lock you out of using your skills like mistform? I guess it must, that has to be why you chose it to make your point.

Here’s how Diamond Skin SHOULD work…
Conditions should still stick and tick, however they do 0 damage UNTIL the total amount of damage they would have done is equal to 10% (or even 20%) of the ele’s health and then they begin to damage as normal. Not sure if that’s even possible to program in gw2, but it’d be a lot more balanced than a blanket “until the ele is below 90% health, conditions do nothing.”
That would be an awful grandmaster trait and totally useless.
How about we tie DS to the earth attunment and have it function with lingering elements. This would give condi classes a window to apply conditions.

I don’t play a mesmer but I like the whole clone mechanic. I do have a question about the targeting system though. I get that I lose target when the mesmer goes stealth but sometimes I will just randomly jump target from mesmer to clone. Is this caused by some mesmer ability?
Also I don’t have any of the auto target option on, so I don’t think it’s from that end.

Had a blast on BP’s borderland tonight, glad to see everyone out in the open smashing into each other. Keep it up everyone

not sure what server your on but if you don"t have anything holding you there, you might consider tranfer to Yaks Bend. I’m a recent transfer there, only been here a couple of weeks, but I think their play style might best match the experience your looking for.

I’ll thow my hat in for Edge of Rage. smart EB comander good at wrangling pugs. Always willing to explain things to new players so they know why there doing something and not just following blindly.
Not sure what servers he’s on now.

I’m actually fine with it being character base. If they were to change it to acount bound it wouldn’t bother me but I like it better the way it is.

Shame on you SBI. Do you know how rare it is that I catch another staff elle alone who
doesn’t run away. I was finally throwing down some epic staff vs staff dueling and you
had to bring your zerg around and wipe it. Think about what you’ve done and be ashamed.
My “duelusions” of grandeur are shattered.

Greetings forum dwellers!
I’m part of a medium size guild looking for a home. We are full time WvWorlders and are looking for a server who have guilds with the same mentality. We usually rally up a bit before primetime but have some members on at all times of the day so if your server has some organization in off hours all the better. So if any guilds who feel they can represent their server in WvW please PM me in game , or let me know who to contact.
Thank you for time
