Have you confirmed that the card is using x16 PCIe lane? You can use a tool like GPU-Z to check that.

Can you please attach Game Advisor text file from your system as it appears now. (but please, don’t copy-paste text into your post, but rather attach the file using “More posting and formatting options..” forum feature).
I know this is a very frustrating problem. At this point I can only suggest trying to use Google’s free DNS servers (instead of whatever you’re using now) to see if this makes any difference.

Hello,
I couldn’t post some links in Tech Support section due to the censor:
Example: http://www.lucidlogix.com/driverdownloadkittenml
Everything with “s dot html” is kittened.
From Lucid faq:

Why am I getting ‘VIRTU is disabled until license activation’ or ‘program is expired’ messages?
Virtu products are licensed products. In most cases the manufacturer of your product already settled the licensing issue. If your product is not licensed it is likely that you get messages like the above. In case you get a message like the abovementioned, please follow these steps:Please verify that your motherboard is listed at ]MVP Enabled Products
Please check for BIOS updates from your Vendor’s motherboard webpage
Download the latest product version from Lucid’s download section

Can you open Trading Post without it? (and if so, does TP work normally?)
^ the teleporting is a part of his mechanic. You need to have ppl on multiple platforms so you can keep damaging him when he teleports, otherwise he’ll regen health over time.
You know, at this point I’d just RMA the card. In worst case scenario you’ll get the same card back if they find no problems with it and you’d know that it’s probably your PSU. Otherwise you’ll end up buying PSU and may still have the same issue.. if the card is somehow faulty.

@ZeroPyro
Try uninstalling software called Speedbit Video Accelerator. If that doesn’t change anything, please try winsock reset.
Type /ip in game chat.
Just to rule out some stuff:
Did you attach 6-pin PCIe power connector to the new card?
Setup downloads the client (which is another EXE file, specifically gw2.exe) and then attempts to run it. From your report I can see that you are running some kind of anti-virus software. It’s possible it prevents the client from launching properly. Try to disable it.
Btw, if you do manage to install the game, you probably won’t be happy with performance considering your specs. But good luck.

Your anti virus / firewall software could’ve downloaded some update and is now blocking access. This is, however, just a guess. If you have such software installed, I suggest disabling it (or even temporarily uninstalling) to rule out such possibility.
Seems that your port forwarding isn’t working.
You can just copy (or backup) gw2.exe and gw2.dat files. Also optionally, local.dat file from Documents/Guild Wars 2 (assuming you want to keep your settings / key binds etc).

It seems the game is conflicting with your Dxtory. Try running the game without it.
Where is password stored in my PC? + It's login encrypted?

Posted by: XcomCaveRat.4059
It is most likely stored in the file local.dat which is in your Documents/Guild Wars 2 folder. How it is stored there, as a hash, encrypted or whatnot – I can’t speculate.
You can run the client with /clientport 80 command line argument. It should force it to use port 80 only.
Strange, DxDiag doesn’t list your Disk drives.
Anyway, have you tried scanning your HDD for errors?
perhaps support can give us more detailed IP Adress to check.
You can type /ip in the game chat window. It will tell you the address of the server you’re connected to.
Yep, experienced this yesterday with a few guildies. Needless to say, I turned off my speakers after 5 minutes of that torture. The sound could be heard almost in the entire North Eastern region of Mount Maelstrom map. The only way to get rid of it was to run away to the opposite corner of the map.
Server: Ruins of Surmia (if it’s relevant).
(edited by XcomCaveRat.4059)
This is odd, but Game Advisor didn’t complete traces to all the IP addresses that it usually does. Something is definitely not right here.
You’re running a lot of software in the background, some of which could be interfering with your connection. I distinctly remember one person claiming that GoogleUpdater messed up his connection. You have GoogleUpdater running too.
I’d definitely recommend that you clean your system from all the unnecessary software, but first you can try this workaround to see if deactivating start-up will change anything.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Connection-Errors-Detected/first#post126256
It’s in your User Documents folder ( c:\users\{username}\documents\guild wars 2\). It’s not the folder where you installed the game.
I also just realized that first, you might wanna try launching the game and pressing Alt+Enter afterwards (even if your monitor/tv has no picture) to try and switch to windowed mode.
You can delete the file called local.dat from Documents/Guild Wars2. That should reset the settings. (note that it will probably also reset stuff like keybinds, etc).
Make sure ports 443, 6112 and 6600 are open in your router.
First thing to check if you have any security programs running such as anti-virus and/or firewall, and try to disable them.
Also please attach your Game Advisor report.

At first sight I don’t see anything particularly suspicious in your report. You do have a lot of software running in the background, so when you claim that nothing has changed on your computer, that is likely not the case. That software downloads updates which you may know nothing about.
As for failed connection to icmp.arenanetworks.com – true, but I know a lot of people who have that (including myself) and it’s never been a problem.
At this point I can only recommend some general suggestions. Try resetting your router if you haven’t already. Turn it off, wait a bit, turn it on again.
Also try resetting winsock catalog and tcp/ip stack in Windows.
1. Click start and type CMD in the search field.
2. You should see cmd.exe popping up on top. Right click on it and select Run as Admin. This will open Command Prompt.
3. In the Command Prompt type the following (only type text in bold):
netsh winsock reset catalog (press Enter)
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt (press Enter)
4. Reboot your computer.
No guarantee it will help, but it’s worth a try.
3rd Time i have posted with the same issue. Someone help me with this texture bug!

I doubt this problem has anything to do with my computer as it is not even a year old yet.
It does, unfortunately, and is likely caused by old drivers.
Here’s a guy with the same laptop having the same issue as you:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Intel-R-HD-3000-can-run-fine-but-has-weird-graphic-tearing/
Basically, update your chipset and graphic drivers.
Edit:
oh. nvm then. You got it sorted with the shortcut.
I just hope this fix works for you.
(edited by XcomCaveRat.4059)
If you could post your Game Advisor report (like Bashido did), maybe it will reveal something. I made that suggestion based on what I saw in his report at first glance.
I found a thread on HP forums that may be of help to you:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/GUIDE-Update-AMD-Mobility-Radeon-drivers-to-fix-graphics-issues/td-p/1406655
That’s the problem. He already has “latest” drivers from HP. He needs latest (or at least recent) drivers from AMD.
You can try this tool from AMD:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx
But it may not work on a laptop with switchable graphics.
I asked because I had EXACTLY the same issue with my RealTek chip. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the heck eventually solved it. Your headset probably has nothing to do with it. I know I got the latest drivers but that didn’t solve the problem by itself. I also ticked the box that says “Virtual Surround” in RealTek HD Manager (under Speaker Configuration tab). I tried various permutations of sound settings within the game. Long story short – something eventually fixed it, and the sound started playing normally. Too bad I don’t know what it was.
Is that an USB headset? If not what is your sound card? (Is it RealTek integrated chip?)
@Bashido
Your report shows failed connection attempts to Anet servers through port 6112. It’s one of the ports the game uses. You need to either open this port (in your router settings) or you can try and run the client with /clientport 80 parameter.
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.

You don’t need to copy-paste the text of the report into your post, if that’s what you mean. Just click “Most posting and formatting options..” and attach the text file to your post.
edit: btw, I was just checking some other thread and one guy (who had very similar issue) said that running the file in WinXP SP2 compatibility mode finally launched the game for him. Very odd, but perhaps worth trying.

If this is the first time you’ve encountered such issue (i.e. missing textures on armor), I suggest you report it in this thread.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Seeing-map-armors-stuck-weapons-or-other-art-issues/
It could be just an in-game glitch.

Hi,
you can try this workaround.
go to C:/Users/{UserName}/AppData/Local/Temp and find file called gw2.exe
Copy-paste the file to the location where you want Guild Wars 2 to reside (but preferably not into Program Files). Then run gw2.exe as Administrator.
When you say that your GTX285 is “not cutting it” what do you mean? are you regarding the FPS? if so what is your current FPS with the GTx285? what is it that makes you feel that the graphics card requires upgrading?
I’m curious as well. I have GTX275 myself and it’s been performing quite well.
Hi, in case you still have this problem, I’ve posted a possible solution in another thread that seemed to work for another user with exactly the same issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Game-Not-Running/first#post257210
^ Glad to hear it worked
@Cole
A few more observations.
Seems you’re bit low on virtual memory, and it’s almost completely full.
Page File: 3950MB used, 4107MB available
I suggest you allocate more HDD space for it. If you don’t know how (http://www.wintuts.com/configure-virtual-memory)
Also – and I am not expert on it – but, somehow, running bittorent at the same time with the game doesn’t seem like a very good idea. AFAIK, those kinds of programs can drain your bandwidth.
Again, these are just observations..
This error is getting ridiculous. I’ve been getting it for several days now. Usually starts appearing late in the evenings (GMT) and gets progressively worse. After midnight, the forum is as good as unusable. There are, however, brief windows when forum appears to work fine, but then it starts happening again. Only affects the forum, all other GW2 pages seem to work normally.
