Looking for a ranked team to do tournies/pvp with.

I think that would cause A LOT of lag, if the game had to do each damage separately, especially in a teamfight, plus the ticking conditions, retaliation dmg, etc etc.

I see what you’re saying, but that might not be the best solution.

You already have the forum board, where everyone can share their thoughts and provide input.
Not to mention, the devs actually reply to these forum posts, so there’s your “community link” right there.

This 1v1 is really fun, mostly because of the fast queue pops and no time to wind down, the action is always there.

I think it would be awesome if gems were introduced as a reward for 1v1 as well, maybe base 20 gem reward (up to 200, if you’re lucky. Just like the 120 base up to 1,000 in the 8 team tourny)

The OP’s suggestion of keeping 1v1 randoming between 4 maps is also great.
Once a week, 8-team tourny is a bit slow. The monthly pvp you can complete in 2hrs, which feels more like a weekly. So maybe, 2 times a week for the 8-team tourny.

Yeah it would be real nice if we can get PvE rewards(like karma and gold) from PvP.

No class is unkillable, like many have mentioned learn to coordinate your CCs.
Make them waste their dodges/stability, and then go in.
2well-coordinated people can take down a bunker guard/ele/engie within a minute if not less.

That’s a good idea satarr, because right now 3rd and 4th place is the same reward, but it feels very random.
You don’t actually fight for 3rd or 4th, you just lose the 2nd map and randomly get assigned a place.

Also bringing up the practice for all the maps is a good point. The people that actually get to kyhlo, get to practice against a good team on that map, and get better.
But for the people that don’t win the 2nd map get no practice against good people for kyhlo and end up losing when they do get to it.

Asura race should be removed for tournament play, everyone should be a human/norn/sylvari, or whatever normal-sized race to balance out the visual effect advantage. You can do this in fractals/PvE(turning everyone into a char, or a ghost, or whatever) why can’t you do this for paids?

I alt-tab out a lot while waiting for queue.

Some games have an alarm, where the icon flashing on your try screen when something important happens.

Can we have that for queue pops?
It takes 5-20mins for paids to pop, when it does pop(you get the option to go now, or wait) can the GW2 icon on the tray bar start flashing please?

I have 3 I made from cogs, and wondering if it’s worth buying a 4th and tossing them into the MF to get a rare?

It’s great that we have so many things planned for pvp, and fixes, and major changes(february patch) and etc etc etc.

It all takes too long.
Each patch has a problem and it doesn’t get fixed, if at all, until the next patch…which is like 2-4weeks away.

I can see how that can be a problem in 8v8.

In 5v5, I think it promotes quicker decision making, and on-the-fly strats.

5mid? back-cap offpoint, back off mid, hold close and off.
4v4 Mid? try and solo svanir/chieftan quick.
etc etc.

In my understanding, that’s why games hire game-testers or whatever…but in this case who needs them?

You have willing people play the game, reach high ranks(50+), post their problems/concerns on the forums, submitting bugs, like all the work is already being done.

Just waiting on A-net’s end.

While OP’s reason for being disappointed I think is a little absurd, they did over hype this game.

Maybe we just expect too many things from newer games, since so much has become “standard” ie., 5v5s, spectate mode, arena deathmatch, matchmaking, ranking, party finder, etc etc.

It’s all nice and dandy that they are making a big patch february, it just feels like it’s taking too long.

This patch that they did, it looked like a lot of changes for each class, but in reality it was very minor.

The “changes” that they did, was mostly for underwater combat, some small fixes and buffs. There are still problems that have not been addressed at all.

Match-making, and actual ranking would also be great.

Try to kite them so they all run next to each other, then dodge.

Other than that, kill the clones/phantasms before they reach you

Go back to the Spvp forum, and type in “Teamfight” in the search bar.

You’ll find plenty of information/discussion, and can form your own opinion based on it.

Gw2 pvp has SO much more potential.
It’s actual skill and proper timing.

You feel much more in control, it’s more fluid, and action-oriented.

The only reason why I say potential, and not FLAT OUT better than GW1, is because of the many bugs and balances that should be fixed/applied.

Why do you insist on updating the game, while tournaments, paids or free are going on?
You update the game with a 3minute warning, while the timer of 3minutes starts counting down on the next map.

NA literally has 1 or 2 paid tournaments going on MAXIMUM at any time.

Could you at least extend the time till the match starts, if it senses a patch?
Can you wait till literally the ONLY tournament ends?

I understand PvP is not the only thing going on in this game, but it’s one of the things that are most effected, since everything else is instanced and can be postponed.

YOU CAN’T ENTER THE NEXT MAP, UNLESS YOU UPDATE.

Sorry if this comes off as QQ or rage, but it’s so frustrating entering a 4v5 in paids because BOOM patch time, OUT OF NOWHERE.

It feels like it effect on-swap sigils, as well…
Like if you run poison on swap, on both weapon sets, and you’re chilled, it won’t proc the 2nd time

Even though it’s a 9sec cooldown, and your weapon swap has a 10second cooldown.

Right now we are allowed to swap out different characters, and change our comp at will.

Will this stay the same, or if this game does go e-sport, or even just for LAN tournaments, will it be changed?

I think it’s mostly because QPs show you have the experience/knowledge, and all you need is 1 or 2 free tournaments to synergize with the team. But, you’re right, it’s unfair for people like you, and QPs don’t really show skill.

I know I was carried through some paid games on my off day.
They’ll implement a better ranking system for sure

I’m really into pvp, and been doing a bunch of spvp and tpvp.

Since the new patch, I get frame freezes for about 5 seconds on and off, non-stop.
It really hinders my ability to play well, and causes a lot of frustration.

Is it just me? My internet speed is fine, but since the new patch I keep getting these lags.

Yeah, all races definitely equal, except when you can’t see their animations, in a visual queue-based game.

Bone is tiger as far as I know.

In paid tournies it makes the most sense to just make all asura, just because of that animation advantage.
