Gotta love how stat cap people want everyone to bow to them and have it done their way. Stat progression is fine and it’s not even to a point where it’s overboard. Just play the game and be happy you are even able to play.
Personally, I find that people that complain about magic find are typically the same people that will complain about any number of insignificant things in order to shield themselves from scrutiny. Often, the guy complaining about MF is the guy doing the least for his team, and blaming his misfortune on “ALL THE DANG [Edit] LEECHERS!”
I would never complain about MF while in a team, I don’t know what my team’s gear is, nor do I care, but in the abstract, I know that I have the best gear I’ve been able to put together towards making myself useful, and that I do the best that I can, whatever that may be, and I just don’t like the idea of another player not doing the same. It strikes against my inherent sense of fairness.
If you moved MF to consumables only people would start complaining about their pugs eating non-stat foods.
True enough, but why not make them non-conflicting consumables? I have some Skale Poison, for example, that gives me a 10 minute buff but does not conflict with my food. Why not have a purchasable MF consumable that would in no way interact with any other form of strength-enhancing buffs.
So, what you’re saying is that magic find, in stead of being a tradeoff for core stats just shouldn’t exist? MF is a tradeoff for core stats specifically to reward the ability to perform well without them, and to be completely honest, it is really not that difficult to acquire the gear you need in this game compared to most others.
Yes, but that’s the problem, when you’re playing solo, then that’s a fair tradeoff. When you’re playing in a group, however, all MF gear means is that you’re dropping the ball by X amount relative to the rest of the team, while getting X amount better rewards for your selfishness. In solo, MF makes perfect sense, in groups it is completely contrary to just effort-> reward.
The reason I went to look closer at the GW2 math is I kept finding myself wearing my MF gear and not noticing any changes. I wear MF for what’s supposedly the most challenging zones in the game. Am I a brilliant player? No, it’s just that gear stats don’t matter very much, mostly because they make a relatively small contribution.
And because the rest of your team is carrying you. Unless you’re talking just wandering around level 80 zones solo, in which case you wouldn’t be taking on the “most challenging zones in the game,” because those are all dungeons. I run solo content in MF gear too, and I don’t have much trouble with it either, but I have noticed a significant improvement in both damage and survivability when wearing my superior dungeon armors when doing Fractal runs (and this is at pre-agony levels).
This game gives players the freedom to play however the kitten they want to. If they want to use MF it’s not a big deal, they can still perform well. This game wasn’t about stats and more about just having fun. It’s changed a bit with Ascended gear but it still doesn’t mean kitten if someone wants to use MF over something else. Get over it. Tired of all these god kitten whiners for something so stupid.

God all I see on these forums is people kittening whining over the stupidest things. This game is skill based, I’ve seen people in MF gear outperform those who aren’t. It doesn’t matter who has what, as long as you can play your class and dodge at the right times you’re gonna do fine. kitten tards.

Because PvP sucks, at least that’s my personal stance on it. I don’t PvP unless I absolutely have to and for certain parts of this game they force you into it, which is sad.
I get my kicks from PvE and exploration. I don’t enjoy getting into a virtual e-pe*n (wow, that’s censored?) contest to see who can gank the best or exploit their class or certain mechanics better.
Screw the hair, I just find it awesome that Zoija is voiced by that cute redhead from The Guild.

Yeah, I get bored fighting a lot of Champion monsters with the large health pools. Go through my full rotation 1500 times before the fight ends, it’s insane. I like the game and the combat but just wish I had more variety in my skills rather than a set 5 for whatever weapons you have equipped.
I don’t get why anyone would be against having mounts. While the game doesn’t really need them I wouldn’t mind having them. There are already various animals in the game that could be used for mounts without breaking the immersion. They don’t hurt anything and people enjoy collecting them. If they sell them in the Gem store then they get instant profit and a crap ton of money. It’s win/win for ArenaNet.

I just went and listened to Sheogorath again, whoever keeps saying he sounds like the Mad King is completely WRONG. Perhaps you should get your ears checked, lol.
Endless Halloween Tonic - It should be trade-able. It’s hard to get, some people wasting tons of money buying Candy Corn and not getting it. It was trade-able in GW1 and people feel it should be in this game too.
Halloween Bag - The one time bag reward at the end of the Mad King Dungeon should be Account Bound, not Soul Bound. It should have also been of a more substantial size. 10 slots is nice but if it’s a one time reward only obtainable on one character across your whole account, it should have been bigger at least.
Clocktower - I enjoyed this Jumping Puzzle. It was fast paced and wicked fun, wish it was here year round. But at least I can see it next year.
To me, it sounds a lot like the voice of Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.
Hard to take OP seriously when you can’t even understand him. And giving new names to the Holy Trinity was just stupid. Don’t bother trying to explain anything to me, I won’t be back here and I read/knew what you were suggesting. Just found it pointless.
Adorned gems (with the filigree) are the ones that can only be used in Jewelry (Rings, Amulet, Accessories). Regular gems can be used in everything.

I spent $50. I’ve worked for various companies and I’ve learned all the tricks to getting your way with credit card companies. Most of which would probably have my game account locked but like I said before, this isn’t the only game I play. On top of this I play WoW, EVE, Mechwarrior Online, Minecraft, Tera, Planetside 2, LoL, FFXI, Diablo 3, Starcraft II and many more lol.

Deciding that a game is not worth playing because you didn’t win a skin is a little bit like deciding that life is not worth living because you didn’t win the Powerball.
When did I decide it’s not worth playing? I’ll still play the game, but I’m definitely not supporting them with my hard earned cash anymore.

I don’t have the in game currency to purchase the skins off the TP. I had cash and the gem to gold exchange is worthless right now. The only reason I was excited for this event were the skins and then they went and screwed their players over. If I had wanted to gamble I would have made a trip to Vegas. I was expecting more out of ArenaNet…

The whole reason I was excited for the Halloween event were the skins. And then I got screwed out of them.
So people complain about not winning at the lottery so Anet listens and gives another chance for people to win the lottery but this time include halloween crafting mats and valuable materials and people STILL complain? NOTHING besides making the skins accessible to everyone will satisfy you people.
this isnt what was advertised PERIOD we have tons of reason to still complain… yeah i got halloween tonics now instead of mystery tonics … would i spend 50$ on tonics???? no way in hell. am i spending another dime on this game if im not refunded for my 50$ in keys no way in hell. you may think its all fine on your patch of grass looking at me on my patch… i dont so go kitten off
NEVER did Arenanet say that the black lion chests had a 100% chance of having a skin. How on earth is this false advertising.
The only reason I was excited for the Halloween event were the skins, especially the Greatsaw Greatsword Skin. But after the crap they pulled, I’m not supporting their company anymore.
Gotta love the failures working at ArenaNet. They said they listened but instead gave us chests just as worthless as the Black Lion Chests. Sure, more chances to get something but it has the same dismally low chance so you won’t get kitten. Never trusting ArenaNet again and they aren’t getting anymore of my kittening money. I opened 30 chests and got nothing. Nice to know the other hundred or so chests I have are now trash, not going to bother anymore with them.

I concur. I’ve opened 30 chests, not one skin. People are having just as bad if not worse luck than me. The good thing is that these can be traded but the prices are just going to be ridiculous you already know. I’d rather pay straight up cash than do more of this lottery bullkitten.
No Snow, the prices are not fine as is. Look at the difference between the tier 2 and tier 3 prices, the tier 3 is grossly overpriced. Sorry to burst your bubble but even to someone like me who has had no trouble making money thinks the tier 3 prices are absurd.
Meinke, the consensus is a lot of this stuff shouldn’t be filtered. Seriosly, why is Frostbite or any derision of it filtered? In the long run, they are all just words given meaning by the people reading them. One word to me means something vastly different to someone else. You can’t please everyone so why even try?

Guild housing is already one of their planned features, as stated by ArenaNet. It was to be added at a future date.
Would make sense honestly, I’m not sure why it’s not like that already.

“As previously indicated…” this means it’s not the first time he appealed the decision. I think your friend isn’t telling you everything. As the 54,941 threads about bots show, they do not ban accounts for botting based on a single accusation or a quick glance at the account’s activities.
The matter was investigated, found to be in violation of the rules, appealed, investigated, the decision was upheld, it was appealed again, and he was told that the matter was already investigated and will stand. No, there is nothing more you can do.
As previously indicated could refer to the ban in question and the notice he was given. Not because he appealed it before.
Do you not count Eye of the North as an expansion, since you only listed two?
I’m not really much of a farmer but I started doing something a few days ago which has proven to be quite lucrative for only an hour or so of my time. The time varies depending on DE’s I may come across mind you.
Anyways, I start off in the very top right corner of Cursed Shore with several sets of pickaxes, axes and harvesting tools. Then, I systematically work from the top of the map all the way to the bottom collecting every single resource node in the zone. I do this daily around 6pm PST when everything is reset for me. While collecting all the nodes I kill any enemies that get in my way and if I come across any DE’s I will do them for their rewards and the chance of looting mobs and chests. Every piece of item that I am able to salvage, I do so. The items you get in Cursed Shore have a chance to salvage to Orichalcum, Gossamer and Ancient Wood.
Once I’m finished with Cursed Shore I hit up Frostgorge in the top right corner to collect any Orichalcum and Ancient Sapling nodes that may have spawned. Once that is complete I head to the Eternal Battlegrounds and go to the Obsidian Sanctum and mine both the Orichalcum and Rich Orichalcum Vein and finish the jumping puzzle to get the items in the chest. When all of that is done I list everything on the TP. The key is not to sell to the buyers but list it and have them buy directly from the TP, you make upwards of 10% or more on items doing it that way.
If I get any Greens just salvage those, sometimes the sigils can sell decently and no telling what crafting mat you might get. Rares, I check the TP and see how much they are going for. If it’s under 15s I Salvage for Ecto’s and the sigils, over I list it on the TP.
Doing this daily I earn 5g+. Today, I found a couple nice Rares and salvaged a lot of Orichalcum (on top of what I already mined) and made nearly 10g. And it is also worth it to note that I don’t wear any magic find gear but I do keep up the Omnomberry Bar buff.

Also, when you use these skins it automatically adds the gem in the upgrade slot. Since you can’t change that option, did you try dropping a lower level gem in it and then transmog it?
I personally love Warrior. I started this game precisely 1 month ago and in that time I leveled my Warrior to 80 and got him a full 100% world completion. He is also a Norn and I couldn’t be happier with him. In terms of your Warrior not being able to survive, there are a few things I can pass on to you to help out in your leveling.
Greatswords do massive damage on Warrior. The key to leveling a Warrior is doing the most damage you can to kill as fast as you can and as I leveled Warrior I found using a Greatsword was the way to go. Of course, you also need the right class specific skills to supplement your ability to do this. While leveling I experimented and found a crazy combination of skills that helped me to kill kitten near everything without issue.
Healing Signet for your heal skill I found to be the best. It doesn’t have a high base heal but it has constant/passive regeneration which I found to be a big help while leveling. Then you want Endure Pain (become immune to damage for 5 seconds), “On My Mark!” (to stack some instant vulnerability), Frenzy (attack super fast) and Battle Standard. As far as traits go I ended up with 30 in Strength, 10 in Arms and 30 in Discipline.
Throughout leveling I could pull groups of enemies, line it up so they were in front of me and hit all those skills except the Standard and use Hundred Blades to make short work of them. Even without the skills I was able to solo with ease. Right now at 80 I go through the entire Cursed Shore zone and strip it of every resource and stay alive while doing it.
