It’s only delayed a couple of hours, and I’m sure Anet are working hard to get everything ready as soon as possible. They’re usually on time with their updates, so it’s obviously something unexpected came up. I’d rather wait a little longer than to be saddled with an update that has an issue, even though their afternoon is my midnight as well.
You guys should try playing Silkroad Online for a couple of years if you think Anet is doing a bad job.
I wouldn’t avoid the events just for the sake of a few players that are bitter about losing. Don’t let anyone stop you. You’ll be missing out. So far, every event I have attended has failed, but I still had a lot of fun. Forget about the sore losers and you’ll see there are also people that cheer for people in the other lane when it’s their turn, and patiently tell inexperienced players what they can expect.
Is it a foolproof path to victory? No. But when I see things like that, I could care less about losing.
Arenanet could dumb down the event. It’d be nice to finally win, but I rather fail a hundred times more than to win it every time only because Arenanet made it easier. I don’t want to win like that. I want to work together with other players, whether they are friends, guildies or strangers I’ll never really get to know. I want to work together with all of these people and defeat the Marionette.
Though I don’t think they should have these ‘limited time’ achievements too often, I don’t really mind them that much. It’s fun and exciting to participate into something that won’t be there forever.
The fireworks achievement was up for grabs for a full weekend, not just for a single time.
I managed to attend that one, but if I look at my Living Story and Event achievements, there’s a few gaps there from when I missed things. Regardless of the reason why I didn’t get those achievements is not Arenanet’s fault. It wasn’t really my fault either, but fact is I wasn’t playing at the time the achievement was up for grabs.
So there’s a few gaps in my achievements. I could easily make up for the points if I went after some others, but best of all, I’m not suffering a disadvantage from missing them. I didn’t miss out on a really cool weapon that does twice as much damage as a Legendary, I’m not denied access to an area filled with rare materials.
I just missed that achievement. A bit of the story, but I can look that up.
As long as I’m not at a huge disadvantage because I wasn’t at the right spot at the right time, I hardly have reason to complain.
Sure, I could have looked it up on YT, but it’s nice that they put it in the shape of a journal.
I thought it was a nice little thing, but then again, I’m one of those people that permanently carry a Marsh Frog around in their inventory.
I just moved the window to the place where I have to click OK so I only had to click away and not move the mouse. Still takes longer than a buy max option, but it works for me.
The Fern Hound is definitely one of my favourite creatures of GW2. However, if there would ever be a miniature pup version, I’d hope it would really look like a puppy rather than a smaller version of the adult.
It’s still only back for a few days only, so it’s still limited enough in my book.
I was really glad when I saw the announcement.
Though a mini pet isn’t that much of a big deal in GW2, I was pretty bummed for missing out on the mini hippo. I’d have understand if it would never be for sale again, but I’m really happy I got a second chance to get it, and I don’t care if I’m the only one with the mini hippo or that everyone and their mum has one.
Thank you Anet! I promise to feed him only the best lettuce from Beetletun Farms. <3

I don’t mind it too much. I keep up to date with GW news so personally I don’t need the box there to remind me about it, but I’ve seen enough players wondering what it was all about after they saw it on their screen, so it’s obviously not something superfluous.
I wonder if the refugees are lured to Southsun with the same advertisements that appeared in LA before that update. Beach resort anyone? Gosh I seriously thought we could have at least a bit of the area to chill out in. Cute drinks with umbrellas and all.
Hopefully the refugees aren’t as gullible as I was. OvO
Thing I miss most about my Ritualist was his dance. OvO
Nope. I main a Ranger, and I hate the legendary bows.
I have an alt that uses a greatsword, but though I like several of the legendary greatswords, they’re just not worth the trouble to get them imho.
Couple of days ago for farming, but prior to that I only showed up once when it was just added to the game, and another few times for random farming/missions and the JPs.
Planning to go there more often for farming, but I can’t say I like the the place too much.
I miss it too. Took me forever to succeed but when I did I just couldn’t stop anymore.
Would pay a high price for a portal stone that warps me back.
Zero. I really could care less about them, and the Ranger legendaries aren’t really doing it for me either. The ones we have now, that is. Maybe in the future I’ll change my mind.
They’re okay. I like the kiddo’s that ress you in Coddler’s Cove. I like the one who sings about swimming swimming swimming all summer long, and the one that shows up when the BLT is offline is also nice.
But it stops there. Honestly a normal Quaggan doesn’t make me go ‘awwww’ anymore. The backpack downright creeps me out with that dangling eye.
Crying Charr. Now THAT is a cute thing to see. Cooooo.
I don’t really mind. Ever since they changed, I team up with my friend and we do them together in Queensdale or wherever we happen to be.
Every day when I log in I curiously see which are the daily tasks for today, and whatever they are, there’s not one I dislike.
Sold one, once. I’ll forever lose sleep over not knowing what it was.
If I could choose one GW1 item, without a doubt, I’d choose for the Zodiac Longbow.
Left one is Beta Aidan, who stayed in character creation for almost the entire first stresstest I played (I think I played for like 5 minutes before it ended fml), but I was smart enough to take screenshots of all the sliders and stuff so I could remake him when the servers really went live. Only thing I changed, or forgot to take a screenie of, was his skin colour.
Right screenshot was made a few days ago when I was celebrating Chinese New Year by running all over the place setting off fireworks. He’s been wearing that armour ever since lvl 60 or something. I liked it so much I transmutated it on his lvl 60 armour, and kept doing so until 80. OvO
In another MMO I played they’d never allow to trade or give away ‘gem store’ items as a protection against scamming. I never really looked into it, but there might be a similar reason.
I don’t really mind though. Technically you can give them away with the [Bouquet Toss] skill, and overall it’s a fun little thing to play around with. In fact, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of throwing roses at anyone passing by.
But seriously, who came up with [Bed of Roses]?!
Whoever ignored, blocked, or kicked that guy is to blame for this player’s inadequacy and ignorance . How can one learn, if no one answers his questions, if no one explains, or shows him how things are done properly? The fact that he did things wrong is not his fault.
We’ve all been new once. Not knowing what to do. Some figure things out quickly. Others need a little more time. Is that such a crime? Is a perfect dungeon run so important? I’m sure the majority of the community wouldn’t mind helping a new player out. But the new player shouldn’t hide the fact that he’s new either. It’s then, that people will get upset, when they were under the impression that everyone knew what to do.
Though I think elitism will increase as the game gets older, I just can’t imagine an entire server shunning one GW2 player of being inadequate. And why would you? It takes so little to help someone out. Kindness isn’t ever wasted.
Talk to the Bank NPC which opens the bank for you. Below the bottom row you see a little lockpad on the right. Click on it, and if you have enough gems (600 are required), you can purchase additional space.
However, the crafting tab will never hold more than 250 items.
Mad King’s Clock Tower as well. It took me quite some time to get the hang of it, but then I just couldn’t stop playing. I’d pay a handsome fee for a portal stone that brings me back.
Also loved Wall Breach Blitz because of the messages you could find underway. I remember being really curious what had happened.
Spekks’s Laboratory was a lot of fun too, with the disappearing platforms. I completed it rather quickly, but my friend really found it difficult so we spent a good 3 hours there before she managed it.
That thing breaks down all the time. Last time I could still interact with it (it doesn’t do anything at all right now) it did the really long notes rather than letting the player choose how long the notes should last.
Really such a pity, I figured out a boatload of songs to play, but the underwater organ doesn’t sound as nice as Ebonhawke’s. Hope it’s fixed soon.
Wouldn’t mind if it’s true. I got 100% map completion and a boatload of other Explorer related achievements, and despite there being so much more to do and achieve, I can’t help but feel like I finished the game. I’m a sucker for exploring and I can’t wait to discover a new continent.
Took me an hour before I managed to succeed that jump.
Very well hidden area.
I suppose I could go out of my way and craft a boatload of stuff every day for no other reason than the daily, but with 75% of the zones being empty, I either have to get to Orr, Queensdale or PvP/WvW for the combo kills, and still then it’s a pain to do.
I’d rather they increase the laurel prizes than mess with the dailies.
Name him Peter.
I see what you did there lol.
Named mine Charlie though. Friends are already asking if I really need to drag that thing with me wherever I go.
Well, yes, yes I do.
The plushie is great! I really wish Arenanet makes a rl version out of it, I’m a little jealous of my character having one!
On Tarnished Coast, not only are the whales provided with water, but also with names and an extremely detailed backstory.
For instance, Jonah went to the moon and Willy taught children to read and write.
We seriously need to be able to save them somehow. I can’t keep dumping buckets full of water on them forever. (But I will because I have a weakness for hapless pixel mammals)
Poor things. Hope we get to save them somehow.
Until then, I’m just going to pretend the whales are sunbathing and the people stabbing them with banners are acupuncturists wtf.
I gave Quaggan kids candy corn once, but the Asura with the Aviator Cap is going to have some serious problems next time he goes to the dentist.
I wish I had known this! I mostly did this mission for fun rather than for the goodies, but I wouldn’t have minded some exotics as a bonus.
I think it’s a funny little thing, nice in tradition with previous GW festivals.
Sticking with my Aviator Cap, though, that thing is made of awesome!
Haven’t bought any keys or chest and will not do so in the future.
The weapons are really great looking, but I don’t think they’re worth it.
It has nothing to do with any sort of boycott towards Arenanet, as I have purchased some inventory upgrades, and, more recently, the aviator cap, and depending on future additions, I will continue to do so.
Thread of the Forum Section right here. I was glad to see it amongst all the complaints.
Halloween isn’t celebrated where I live, so I was introduced to it when I started playing the original Guild Wars, and it remained my favourite event.
Guild Wars 2’s version of Halloween started great.
I really enjoyed the book quest, as well as hunting for pumpkins to carve, candy corn ore to farm and doors to knock on. (Though they were more fun when they were bugged and an endless stream of candy corn elementals would pour out – even the rollback we got right after didn’t kill the fun!)
The new weapons look great. I love Arachnophobia, but not so much to spend any money on it. I’m extremely happy with the Aviator Cap I purchased earlier, though.
I can’t wait to see what the upcoming acts will bring, but so far the event is a success for me, thanks a lot!
Oh wow you guys are really talented. Loved checking out your creations. (Especially considering I possess the artistic skills of a badger.)
I’d have a really hard time choosing a winner from those fantastic entries.
You underestimate the need to complain for certain people. If such odds were posted, they would continue crying about item X only having a drop rate of percentage X.
It’s not about blame. It’s about something they want but don’t get right away.
It’s a nice addition for those who’d rather not spend real money on chests.
The items required, although not useless, aren’t worth any money, and even if you can’t use or don’t want the items you were given you can sell them.
I received a couple of materials I could sell for some money. I didn’t mind not getting a weapon because I didn’t expect to get one in the first place, and I was happy with the candy corn and the trick or treat bag I got. I’m saving up all mine and open them on the 31st as I always do during GW’s Halloween events.
People seem to value the weapons skins a lot. I suppose it’s different for everyone.
I like the new weapons but I don’t care enough to spend money on chests. I like the Aviator Cap I bought earlier and I’m enjoying the event in general.
I suppose it’s impossible to make everyone happy but I hope you all get the weapon you like best.
Well the NPC did say something about more volumes, so I’d just keep it as it is for now.
I had expected the costumes to work like they did in GW2. You keep the stats of your armour, but the appearance if of the costume.
Had it been the same in GW2, I’d have totally bought that Aviator Cap already. Now I don’t really see the point.
I liked the Arachnophobia shortbow a lot, but I figured I’d best just forget about it. Apart from cooking, I dislike crafting, do not own mountains of gold (or the perseverance to gain them), and I have enough experience with bag/box/gift/package/chest opening to know that I wouldn’t get it in a million years.
I think I looked like this :| for about 20 seconds and then I hopscotched to the next pumpkin for the carvers title.
Would it have been more fun if they were more easily available? Yes.
But it’s not really something I can’t live without.
