I recommend doing research on the options you are considering. Many headsets focus mostly on the listening experience and the mic might be bad. The end result will be that you will sound awful on VOIP.
Thanks Garambola! It’s a pity that we get 10% favor, not sure ANET’s logic on that, but this at least allows the guild to progress!
And thanks also to Donari, I did double check after reading your post. I had assumed Influence was (at least by now) fully transitioned to Guild XP, but I notice now the legacy influence is still displayed in the UI, and yes, using an item does raise it. Now I just have to figure out what I can spend it on! =)

How does one buy this as a gift when one already owns the expansion. I only get the option to upgrade, or to say no thanks continue to the shopping cart. Where I choose the option I want only to be given to the option to upgrade or say no thanks continue to the shopping cart. Where I choose the option I want only to be given…
This tornado’s heading for the trailer park.
Help please?
Buy it off of the website.
If you “buy it on the website” it automatically assigns it to your existing account.
What Seera.5916 means is you can buy it from any of ArenaNet’s retailers online: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers and then just give the code to a friend.
If you know a program that lets you to set the window “Always on top” then that might help.
Or maybe setting the game windowed and putting them side by side so both are fully visible all the time?
Thank you for the image examples. I checked GPU-Z and noticed that my graphics card was running PCI-E 2.0 × 16 @ x16 2.0 when my motherboard is 3.0 capable. I roamed a while through UEFI, found it and changed. It seems to have worked for the FPS cap issue.
The FPS drops still occur. Here are stats from GPU-Z and CPU-Z: http://i.imgur.com/JCwFSVO.png

I think this is what you’re looking for?
I just did this with a new account last week. The way it works is there is a 5 day waiting period before you can use the TP and send mail to other players no matter what. If you validate your account (connect it to SMS) at any time during this 5 day period, you still have to wait out the 5 day period. If you have not validated your account during that 5 day period, you will still still need to validate your account to use those services after the 5 day period to gain access to them.
Unfortunately, there is no way around the five day waiting period.
If you know someone, a trusted friend, then you can have them buy what you need off the TP and mail it to you, as you can always receive mail regardless of the 5 day waiting period.

Generally, I am able to play games well but specifically GW2 is giving issues:
1. The worst issue is that I have FPS drops all the way down to 1-3 FPS. These seem to happen often but not all the time. When they do, they even happen when idle at character selection. When they happen, each drop takes just 1-2 seconds and then it climbs back up and is ok for a minute or two before happening again.
I have tried to change all the settings on NVIDIA Control Panel with no luck and I have ran the game with everything on the lowest settings in-game as well with no effect.
What I have noticed having task manager open on my other screen while testing is that when the FPS drop happens the cpu utilization drops radically as well. In addition to that, changing focus away from GW2 to, say, a web browser or task manager on my other screen makes the FPS drop stop until I return focus back to GW2.
2. Other issue seems to be that I’m unable to get my max FPS up from 63. Having VSync on or off doesn’t seem to help. Turning GSync on or off doesn’t seem to do anything either. This doesn’t bother me as much as the problem above, though.
In light of these two problems I am sad to say that the game is completely unplayable for me now. Also, one of the games that works well on my system, believe it or not, is Batman: Arkham Knight. In other words, GW2 is currently the game that I have the most issues with of all the games I have.
I used to be able to play GW2 fine. Even after HoT launch, the game was fine and playable for me in all areas. As I said, now I can’t even idle in character selection without these problems.
No. You are not required to use any armor skin. You can get the same or better stats in other ways. There are a few achievements you get when you buy enough cultural armors but that’s about it.
I don’t remember the exact masteries off the top of my head but the mastery you need next will have the green starburst on it they always use to mark personal story.
In youtube he has the green emblem but I’m not.
Did you glide over in front of him so he saw you and reacted to you? Like the previous scout told you to do.
If something is restricting your personal story progression, the message will be on the top right corner with the green star where all other personal story info is shown as well.
SirBlunticus.4258, I completely understand where you’re coming from with this. I’m in the same situation as you being blind in one eye as well.
In addition to what you were talking about I have at times cussed the positioning of the mini map. Being blind on the right side it’s basically impossible for me personally to even glance at the mini map while trying to keep watch of the action. I don’t have that issue with the chat box, though, since it’s on the left side.
You get one character slot if you buy either Deluxe or Ultimate version. Original information about the other character slot was as follows:
Veteran Player Appreciation
For our long-standing fans and loyal players, we would like to say thank you and show our appreciation. For all players who registered the core Guild Wars 2® game prior to January 23, 2015 and who upgrade their account by prepurchasing and registering any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns‘ launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account. The process of delivering your additional character slot will take us some time, but rest assured we will get it to you as soon as possible. We’ll provide more details about the specific timing soon.

I think Shadowplay that comes with a GTX 980 or 980 Ti has the feature but I’d look it up just in case. With those framerates you want an excellent card anyway but I’d personally hold out until Pascal, which is being released next year.
Shadowplay can record at max resolution of 2160p 4K but only max 60Hz. I will add that streaming with Shadowplay is restricted to max resolution of 720p at max 60Hz.

I would personally pay for good looking armor skins but not outfits. I would have wanted a Crystal Arbiter armor but was disappointed when it was just an outfit.
I disagree with you on one point. We have a small guild, 10 members but only 3 (at the time of capturing a GH) to 4 active members. We got the Favor we needed by capturing and holding a quiet location in WvW with just the three of us. In other words, PvP is not the only option.
I would have also noted about using the LFG tool to get more people to help capture a GH if you hadn’t commented further on it. I’ll just say we paid 1g per person to the two people who helped us capture Gilded Hollow. Even with 5 people we ended up in a situation where we had 3 successes and 3 failures at one point but then we were able to kill the two last Maws.
The word ‘juvenile’ on a ranger’s pet is pretty inappropriate as well as causing this frustration.
While it may be reasonable to have it such that adult animals can’t be ‘tamed’, once a young creature has become a ranger’s pet it’ll mature pretty quickly so would no longer be a ‘juvenile’ at all.
That’s a remnant from GW1. In GW1 you had to level up your pet independently of your own level. The ‘juvenile’ changed to another word as its stats changed based on how the pet leveled.
Health and armor
All pets have the same health and armor based on their current level.
Pets have the equivalent of 5 pieces of infused armor.Health = Level × 20 + 80
AL = Level × 3 + 20Pet Evolution Stats
Hearty: -(~12-14)% damage, +60 health
Playful: -(~5)% damage, +30 health
Elder: -0 damage, +0 health
Aggressive: +(~5)% damage, -30 health
Dire: +(~12-14)% damage, -60 health

That is around the amount of people required for claiming, yes. I can’t say definite amount but my own experience of claiming Gilded Hollow was that we failed with 3 people and succeeded with 5.
1) Yeah. You gain xp for Tyria masteries in the base game and xp for Maguuma masteries in HoT. The earned xp will automatically go to the side you are getting the xp from.
3) On a level 80 character, you can see your mastery level on the left side of the xp bar.
I would see it this way, the players who already own the game are buying the expansion.
Those with a F2P account will get a free unlock from their restricted F2P account to a normal account in addition to buying the expansion.
We have a small guild of friends and family. We have been able to get our guild hall up to level 10 with mostly three active people. We have been happy with our speed of upgrading so far.
Yeah, as others have said, Sennheiser is top of the line. Personally, I have experience only of 363D: http://en-us.sennheiser.com/gaming-headset-pc-363d but it is much better than any other headset I’ve ever owned before.
I would say that one way of looking at this is by comparing to MMOs with monthly subscription. How much have you gotten out of the base game so far compared to if you would have been paying a monthly subscription? Like, how many hours have you played with just the price of the base game and how big of a difference in cost would it have been if you’d been paying a subscription the whole time.
My personal situation is that I had over a thousand hours in GW2 before HoT was even announced so I didn’t feel bad paying for the Ultimate edition of HoT since I felt I had already gotten way more entertainment out of GW2 the past 3 years than what I had originally paid for.
And I still think it was worth it. But, then again, I’m not one of those people who just blaze through all the content. I have a dozen characters of different professions and races so I have a lot to do and won’t get bored very soon.
I want Trahearne back! If I can’t have Trahearne I want a Mini-Trahearne, and Trahearnes face to be available in character creation. :C And I’d give the world for the real Caladbolg GS skin!
Most people actually have wanted to kill Trahearne for a long time. But I do agree, I’d want a good Caladbolg GS skin.
Acount Bound Gathering Tools!
Those already exist.
At the very least, let the instance starter rejoin the fight, as the fight can’t end if they’re not there to do the final blow. Unless that’s been changed since our last go.
I played it with a couple of guildies and ended up in the box. I was the instance starter and at the end I was teleported to the body for the final blow.
They most likely won’t do that because then players wouldn’t need so many transmutation charges which can be found from the gem store.
Happy Anniversary Gaile!
Was working fine for a long time and then my computer crashed hard.
Windows 10 will no longer boot. No ideas why.
Boots linux fine (gw2 linux port?).
Now I’ve got a long messy process of rebuilding my system. Bleah.I’m going to pass on testing this any further. This kind of bad luck I don’t need.
Tbh, this sounds more like you just happened to be playing GW2 when that happened instead of GW2 being the reason why it happened. What I mean is that, to me, it sounds like it could have happened with any other game or program using those resources.
Thanks you!!!
I’ve only been asking for this for 2 years. Hopefully, this will clear up the infamous event log message. This is the last thing that gets written before GW2 crashes.*Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
The description for Event ID 13 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. *
These days, I’m so pessimistic about it after fighting with, Anet, nVidia, eVGA and the people I bought the computer from for three years, that deep down I’ve convinced myself there’s no way it’s going to work and that the only way to absolutely get rid of the error and hopefully the crashing it is to replace the computer and use ATi.
As that message says, it’s a problem with the display driver and getting a new game client won’t help with that at all. In my personal experience, even a reinstallation of Windows can solve such problems but it’s very hard if not impossible to find out the real reason for those errors sometimes.
No, it didn’t. They’ve done that since the original Guild Wars. At the end of that the players were still at the level cap of 20 but fighting enemies that were around level 30.
I’m one of two founders/leaders of a small casual (~10 person) guild of friends and family. Over the years we have had mainly 3-4 active people but not very much co-ordinated efforts where we’d do things together.
We were able to aquire a guild hall on our second attempt. First we tried to get it with just 3 players and failed. Then we just went the route of using party search tool and offered 1 gold per person for the assistance. We were able to capture Gilded Hollow with a 5-man party.
Oh, and we were able to get enough Favor for the hall and for the first expansion of the hall by doing one easy mission in WvW with the same 3-man team we used to first try for the hall itself.
Thank you for this post, Dara. I sent a message of this to my friends right away. We’ll have to see how we will slice that apple, so to speak. But I’m sure we’ll enjoy our G(u)ilded Hall in any case.

Problems:
We are randomly experiencing loss of ability to represent. My own experience was that I played with my thief and had no problems. Then I changed to my guardian and “represent” button did not register clicks. I just gave up and went to play another character that was already representing. I have heard from our guild members that this has happened to them as well.
Sometimes when we login and check the build queue, it is completely empty even though other members can see the jobs and their progress. This has happened to all our members who I’ve asked about this.
Second problem with the build queue is that it sometimes freezes for some people. When our last job got to 0, it stayed there for some of us even though, in reality, it of course was emoved and it started the next one. This was confirmed from members who saw it correctly at the time.
