Hm. I’m not sure which he meant, but if that is the case, then he would need to reach the first tier of legend this season and next season as well to get 10 league thresholds done. Everything else I said still applies, and that will get you enough tickets to get the wings and the certificates of support.
For anyone else reading who may be curious, to finish in 3 seasons, you would need diamond x1 and ruby x2.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
You need to cross a total of 10 league thresholds so in 4 seasons aim for ruby x2 and sapphire x2 (or ruby x3 and emerald x1).
Other than that, do the daily league participator and keep track of your league professional wins and everything else you’ll get just by playing pretty much. I don’t know how your PvE mats are looking, but keep in mind you’ll need a gift of fortune too, so start saving up your t6 mats for the rest of the year
Edit: Also you will need a perfect mist core so do the glorious track (4 essences total, you get 1 and a glorious skin or you may choose a 2nd essence so do the track 2-4 times)

Agreed as well. Even putting it temporarily directly above the F1 like mes F5 would be better than how it is now. Can’t read the cd for it so I never can tell when berserk ready to be used

I just wanted to suggest that for unranked/ranked queuing, I am happy they added the check marks for selecting stronghold or conquest, but I would recommend adding an indicator about all of your party member’s selection when queuing (ie 4 people have selected stronghold, 1 person has selected both. some way for us to know what everyone has chosen). The problem is that if 4 people have selected stronghold only but 1 person has selected both, there is a chance that conquest will still pop
I was in a 5 man party tonight and we were having trouble communicating for everyone to select the correct checkbox (‘everyone pick stronghold’ in party chat..we get a conquest queue pop.)
Having an indicator of everyone’s selection will be a good QoL feature for parties

I submitted an in game bug report referencing the threads here on the forum, hoping that someone there may forward the warning to anet. I hope we get clarification on this soon…

What Izzu said. This is the build i use, its basically the same concept but gives you 2 emergency shout heals/immob cleanse when you get to the console

Just thought I’d post my feedback here as well
I played revenant (like everyone else ofc), I played around with traits and utilities and whatnot and by the end of the beta, I ended up with a 6/3/5 mace/axe build. I basically spammed pain absorption with the trait that gives extra resistance for each mallyx skill used, as well as traited to heal on incoming condition and skill use (sorry, I forget the names). When I was cc’d, I would swap legends to stun break, clear a condi (through trait) and heal up or reset, then return to mallyx legend and continue spamming pain absorption. The build I used I felt like gave the best experience given the trait trees and gear available in the test.
Condi line
Adept mi: Torment on crit
Adept ma: Heal on incoming condi
Master mi: Boon removal on hit
GM mi: Torment lasts longer
GM ma: Copy conditions to enemies
Toughness line
Adept mi: Chance when hit to gain endurance
Adept ma: Enemies further than 600 range do less damage
Master mi: Gain stability on dodge
Ferocity line
Adept mi: Summon orb when spending energy
Adept ma: Using legend removes a condi
Master mi: Pull in orbs when you swap legend
Master ma: Heal when using skill that uses energy
GM mi: Swapping legend breaks stun
I ran the wyvern fight as many times as I could to practice, I felt like this gave me the best experience to test the mechanics of the class.
My feedback is that revenant does feel somewhat clunky. I swapped off of hammer primarily to test the melee range survivability with mace/axe, which in theory worked well with the build I decided to use. The weapon skills and utility skills drawing from the same pool meant that I was primarily focused on using the utility skills. I did not feel incentivized to use the weapon skills or the elite because it would drain my energy and I did not feel like it was worth the trade-off. One thing I noticed was that swapping the position of a utility skill on the jalis legend would also swap the position of a skill on the mallyx legend. I hope that on release these utility swaps will be independent.
I had a few framerate issues, it was still playable but I felt noticeably more stutter than the regular world.
Those were my primary concerns with this release. I would like to see how the power line changes the revenant and how effective it will be in dungeon runs. Given the current state, I feel like it would be a strong anti-condi bunker in pvp. The lack of stun breaks is a bit concerning to me from an anti-cc perspective…despite the stability on dodge, it can be overwhelmed and locked down through successive cc’s.
I am looking forward to the expansion and I hope the full release will be a great success!
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
I got in! I’ll do my best to break things (in a good way)
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i have been a supporter of mh sword/bleed specs basically since launch, but for the reasons you all stated i have basically shelved my warr in wvw for the time being (she has become my primary dungeon runner now hahah)
still, its quite funny to use flurry on dagger storm or tornado tho (you have to use balanced stance so you dont get blown away). thieves and eles basically cancel their escape abilities if they use those elites with a flurry warr around.
sword is almost there, but its just not quite good enough to be truly viable.

i still use tank cat, even after the patch. the damage has taken a big hit but in general the survivability is almost as good as it ever has been. (it still has its glaringly obvious lack of stability, but whatever…)
to answer your question, i like to use my survivability to my advantage in a zerg scenario; i usually stand up near the front of the blob and when we meet an enemy, what i do is drop supply crate right on the enemy zerg, run straight in and shield #4. (this sometimes will give you area healing if you get the timing right near the elite’s heal turret) i then drop caltrops and just go to town with the wrench auto/prybar and pistol #3.
with that combo alone, you have aoe stunned, knocked back, crippled and confused numerous enemies, not to mention aoe healed a few of your allies in the initial clashing of forces. you can then use magnet to pick off individuals at will from then on.
if you start getting hard cc’d, elixir s out to the periphery and just start pistol auto attacking while you heal up.
elixir b’s retaliation is quite delicious to use as well. just hit that before you jump in to the fight.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
(edited by aKIRA.7123)
Elixir S nerf = No more Tank Kat (RIP!)
the elixir s thing wont kill tank cat. the fact that people will be able to stun us out of shield blocks will tho, since we dont have reliable sources of stability.
also the changes to retal and confusion will probably make it harder to play as well, since that was the build’s primary damage source vs glass cannon thieves, warrior, etc.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i saw someone named Heavy Charrtillery before
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
mending jacket from personal story
invaders pants from wvw
the rest is just noble lvl 80 craftable rares cuz i was too lazy to find something better haha
starter backpack
weapons are cultural t3 human pistol and t3 asura shield.
i also have the ac rifle that i quite like.
edit: @mr forz: i like the look of the set you have on the left! @crispeh: ruinmaker looks pretty cool :o i might replace my pistol now haha
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
(edited by aKIRA.7123)
well..if you hit #4 twice then you probably just pushed him back with magnetic inversion. thats different from magnetic aura. but yea as long as he doesnt have stability it would work
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
it doesnt look like much changed for tankcat, besides the revealed effect for stealth. im quite liking the magnetic aura on med kit for kit refinement tho :o (but i dont know if id want to give up swiftness just for that..hm)
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
my first class was warrior, and i was convinced i would never play another character. however, as the meta changed for wvw i found that my build was actually really weak and the class as a whole is missing some pretty major things (cond removal..sustainability in fights, etc.)
i finally went ahead and made a second character and that char is an engineer. i find it wayy more fun to play wvw with it than my warrior now.
sometimes the grass looks greener from the other side.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i just fought a tank cat from blackgate server! the fight took 10-15 minutes and the tide of battle went back and forth throughout. several teammates from both sides stopped and cheered us on without interrupting the epic fight.
eventually i won and then bowed to her without finishing her and walked away.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
they just recently changed the hero panel tooltip for condition dmg, it used to add deep cuts to the cond duration, but not anymore. its still working tho, its just hidden on the character screen.
the best way to check is to look at bleed duration tooltips with deep cuts on and off for things like sword/rifle auto attack or impale/pin down.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
mending + restorative strength, because i have no space on my bar for sig of stamina, and i like the 5 sec lower c/d
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
actually..yes i have seen it fail. tried to drop it on someone who was almost fully dead (like >5% of downed state health left) and it said it healed for around 20k hp, but they didnt get ressed. their downed state health did go up tho, so thats how it works.
it does res dead npcs tho. seen many a warrior drop the banner on a keep lord and he’ll fully res
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
the recent changes to pin down and impale make me hopeful that more cond buffs are coming for the warrior. it could be something as simple as 2-3 stacks of bleed per auto attack that make the difference (not totally out of the question imo), but i dont really know what specifically they would do to improve sword.
i have faith that anet has recognized the need for mh sword improvements and we’ll see some fixes in the near future (blind faith, but still :P)
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i would only agree with this if the hypothetical kit weapon swap had 0 cooldown. since that is unlikely to be the case, i still prefer the current system.
i should point out tho, that im not totally against this idea but it would also severely mess up engi players who want to use multiple kits (minus med kit, of course).
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
or they could make a skill that takes the place of the banner on your bar while its active to recall the banner to your location and/or locks the banner down in place for a certain amount of time
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
sword and board/longbow has some serious potential. one good combo i’ve found that simply destroys other warriors is to start with a pinning shot followed by a point blank bolas chained into a flurry with your choice of attacks in between.
absolutely. now that pindown has 6 stacks of long lasting bleed, its practically a condition dmg kill shot. i always keep a longbow in my bag, but it usually only comes out for sieges and dungeons. since the change tho, im seriously considering dropping the rifle altogether.
pin down+bolas+flurry is like…11 secs of immobilize, plus more if you have condition duration.
Hm. Ill try to focus on more bunker than dps. Something that can outlast most classes. Feel like it’ll be a whole lot different than my thief who is moving 24/7 :p
in that case, you might want to take a look at hammer or mace. sorry for sort of talking you out of sword/shield but i really wanted to get the point across that the weapon set isnt very tanky/supporty
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
(edited by aKIRA.7123)
if you buy the ancient rifle stock and barrel then the price comes out to about 1-2g.
and you can always transmute :P
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i admit, bleed specs wont kill people as fast as gs or axe heavy direct dmg builds, but it does work. you just have to really watch out for those condition removals.
hybrid builds arent a terrible idea for sword tho, but if you start to move too much into cond dmg then youre getting away from being a support/tanky build and more a cond dps build.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i transmuted and still use the starter backpack on my lvl 80 exotic stuff, but johnsonade actually brings up a good point…how many times have i tried to kill someone by throwing med packs at them? or tried to shoot at them from range with a wrench? lol
if they made an option to disable all kit backpacks i wouldnt complain. but i hope if they do that its not a 100% total removal of kit backpacks
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
In fact, the cheapest is probably berserker pearl rifle
i think itd be cheaper to make a mystic rifle actually..assuming you have the skill points and mystic coins
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
it works, but if you have 2 on-crit or weapon swap sigils, their internal cd will interfere with each other.
whats your sigil for your main hand weapon?
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
since op specifically mentions sword/shield+rifle, im going to point out that 1h sword is essentially a condition weapon (unless you use it just for the flurry immobilize like those guys..) so its not that great with power only.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
O.O
21s bleed for 13,800 dmg…now im slightly more inclined to use my bow in wvw instead of rifle lol
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
How is it not good in PvP?
in my experience its too easy to be kited. (but ill admit this is an interesting setup)
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
it removes the 4 conditions (cripple, chill, immobilize, weakness) first and then removes 2 additional conditions.
so if you have those 4 specific ones and then bleed and poison, it will remove all 6
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i would prefer it if you could select your direction like warr’s whirlwind attack..
also i would prefer it if the skill actually worked when you have stability on..
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
as a former sorrows furnace player i have all the sympathy in the world for you guys, i really do.
the problem tho is that theres only so many servers in gw2. as far back as 3 months ago sf has had no real servers to consider as ‘equal rivals’ so they tend to jump around between tiers. it was truly a roller coaster experience to play there which was the primary reason why i left.
im not sure that resetting the tiers would have changed much for t8. yes you would have fought different people for a while but theres no guarantee that t8 wouldnt just end up looking exactly the same once the volatility balanced everything out.
if the current results keep up, then sf will eventually move up to t7 and your wish to play new opponents will be granted. but from what i recall of playing darkhaven, gate of madness or henge of denravi (although hod was in a rebuildng phase when i left) i wouldnt expect the results to be significantly different for t8 than what they are now
(side note: it looks like theres a few servers falling down the rankings, but who knows where they will end up bottoming out)
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i agree as well. even as an engineer i always automatically assume that its an ele in the party window. guess im self-discriminatory
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
you can be pulled by engi and mesmer, feared out, chilled/crippled by any non-projectile ground targeted aoe..dunno if im missing anything else
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
(edited by aKIRA.7123)
i used sword/shield warrior for quite a while and it worked beautifully. unfortunately, i moved servers (from tier 7 to tier 3) and now that im running into players who are actually smart enough to have condition removal, my bleed build doesnt work as well anymore.
it definitely has the potential to do a lot of damage, but literally 1 condition removal can negate it
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i use longbow in dungeons all the time. aoe fire fields + area might (combustive arrow > arching arrow) works great
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
ive been experimenting with p/t/v with valkyrie and invaders jewelry and sigil of perception+maintenance oil. it seems quite nice to me, especially if you add fury into the mix
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
man you weren’t kidding that youll get ptsd after fighting a guardian…had a duel with one that lasted for about 10 minutes. i only ended up winning because a teammate happened to pass by
this build is hilariously survivable and so easy to customize, ty op for posting it
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
as of december 3 patch:
All players will now correctly receive WvW bonuses. Players who transfer worlds will still be locked out of bonuses for the current and subsequent match.
theres a bonus that increases your health by 1-8% over the course of the week. this bonus affects all players in pve or wvw (not spvp) BUT the bonus does not apply to you if you’re in an overflow
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
well warriors not the only one that can do that..necro, guardian, ranger, engineer and elementalist can all cc you so hard that others can get in on the action before you can react
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i play a sword/shield+rifle warrior, so i have to say that sword’s all about bleeds, so you need condition damage. power is secondary (but dont completely ignore it) get it into your gear and also take a look at the arms trait line
if you arent willing to adjust your traits because you’re set on power/toughness/vit, you should probably reconsider the axe because that scales better with power. taking a 1h sword with no condition damage will just be hamstringing yourself.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
do you happen to remember what weapons they were using?
these are all the warrior immobilize/cripple skills:
flurry – 1h sword
pin down – longbow
throw bolas – utility
with leg specialist, these skills will do a 1 sec immobilize:
aimed shot – rifle
blade trail – greatsword
hammer shock – hammer..duh
hamstring – 1h sword
throw axe – axe..
i do see a couple of easily chain-able skills in that list, so it is quite possible that you got hit by several immobilizes in a row, but really you just need to know that immobilize by itself will not kill you..just use your condition removal when youre about to be hit by hb or whatever they were using.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i would suggest you take a look at ‘fear me’ and distracting strikes (strength trait 7).
of course, this wont work as well if you’re not condition spec, but ‘fear me’ has saved me from so many backstab thieves recently, and then they just own themselves when i hit them with shield bash.
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
i wonder how the community would feel about the option of adding a second chat window to your ui. you could have one defaulted to main chat, and one which views the combat log, or guild chat or whatever you want.
i am well aware of the fact that you can customize what you view in your chat window, and also that you can add additional tabs. in my case, i would very much like to see the combat log and chat at the same time, without cluttering each other by combining it into the single window
Jaunty Chaps [LAD]
brienson pretty much has it. without giving away my build, ill say that i use 1 shout, 1 physical and 1 stance, none of which i have traited, and i cannot replace any of them because they are so central to my build. personally, i dont like any of the signets (the sole exception would probably be stamina).
fear me > stomp because you can still use it while stunned/knocked down.
and as for heal…ill just say, traited mending removes up to 6 conditions.

I have yet to see Maguuma or Sorrow’s lose in a match against ET. Unless they 3 played simultaneously.
I have yet to see anyone lose a match against ET since they started dropping. I’m sorry that your server was the victim of a mass WvW player exodus but singling out Maguuma and Sorrows is a bit unfair. Neither server actively tries to recruit off server and neither of our servers have a “we need more Oceanic/NA/Euro/Asia players!” thread.
^this. i honestly do feel for et and hod, but this judgement is skewed by the fact that both servers have fallen so far in the rankings and have still not settled into their proper tier yet.
the only reason youve played us for multiple weeks is because our point score is so much higher than the servers in tier 7 that you did not drop into the next tier, so you were forced to play us again.
i definitely think hod will settle well in tier 7. they may not have many, but their players definitely know what theyre doing. im not sure about et tho, unfortunately i havent seen enough over the past 2 weeks to make a clear judgement (but i did meet quite a few friendly et in jumping puzzles and one of the most skillful necros ever in a 1v1).
