From OP, I´ll second only the “Karma” part .. and fully support “sostronk.8167” suggestion.
OP, my experience is, that each server has its own “community” webside .. usually it is run by a WvW alliance .. in most cases it covers all fields of gameplay & provides open space for most of your needs. Just ask around in the map chat in LA, or homeboarder.
.. maybe you´ve already seen “advertising” for it a couple of times. So .. “leap of fate” & go for it .. gl & hf.

Hmm .. if you´re solo-PvE player, that is just lvl-ing .. it might prove to be an issue .. but for the “rest” of us – I pray they won´t touch the current setup – cos they would screw us even more, after all It´s already quite powerful.
Since most of proper Engineers don´t bother to reply to this meaningles topic, I´ll be the necessary arshole. You are semi-eng, since you didn´t realize anything and thus, I will adress ya this way .. so listen carefuly, I hate to repeat this valuable lesson each day ..
First skill “Throw Junk” .. it goes with lore .. point number two, observe what it does – it gives a random condition upon your target .. RANDOM – which means, it might pop up a “control condition” – immobilize, slow, fear ..
Second skill “Grappling Line” .. canceling channeling skills, moving enemy .. and providing CONTROL even if downed. (..wait for it..)
Lastly “Booby Trap” .. another control skill when downed – providing knockback effect .. and most importantly – COMBO FINISHER !!
So, my beloved “brainiacs” .. after you reach lvl 80, doing stuff solo is only for fun, or relax .. but to gain something valuable you always need at least 2-4x more ppl. For whatever you want to gain, or do .. our Downed skills are THE BEST .. no class has so much control in downed state. And if you get a capable group with ya – that combo finisher is indeed priceless. So I´ll stress it again .. ArenaNET – don´t touch downed state .. rest of you guys – learn how to play within the merits of a group – there lays the true power of ENG profession.
I´m still using the Grenades .. AoE in general, are nice .. throwing them behind your back is usefull .. and all in all – AoE Weaknes is priceless.
Well .. I love the idea .. since I´ve been spending a lot of time in WvW & even now, still learning new stuff about it – in my opinion WvW system is the most balanced & best so far, that I´ve seen in any game.
New context would be greatly appreciated in any aspect .. altou at this moment, there is still plenty to discover, which we as players didn´t figure out yet. (at least that´s what I believe at the moment)
*new context was promised to be available in February – and a “trailer” for it, with some data beforehead – so waiting is the only think left for us atm
Anyhow, to the topic. Look at the numbers & think. Servers usually have high population, but WvW presence on those servers is low – explanation – PvE players. Each servers has a certain % of population that attends this aspect of the game. I know a PvE player that has finished one legendary weapon, and since he has 7more characters to play with – he wants each to have a legendary weapon. Still didn´t understand the point of that, but whatever.
PvE players are the main source of income for any MMORPG – cos there is plenty of them. So to ask the developers to pay less attention to them, might literally “kill” GW2 as a project.
My advice in this matter would be simple. Trust & believe, in those few, that have been sheltering the WvW aspect so far, within the ArenaNet team. We might have not received many updates .. nor got many intell on what is comming. But I´m quite sure, that these guys are refining & developing new stuff ..
I guess is safe to tell from second page you will recive only trolling, off point conversation and no real data. Tomorow is the last day of thinking, anyway… where do you move?
They don´t need to move before reset – this matter is not bound by time .. the unity of any guild is either displayed by joined gathering & consultation upon the choice of action, or by the dedication to the leader – following his judgment without second thought.
Whatever time it might take .. we shall wait patiently.
I´ll be a bit of an ars, as I usually am .. and will voice only my own opinion, since we have alliance leaders which could propose to you – thus steping upon their territory in this matter could be seen as disrespectful.
To the topic. Regardless of your exploits & tactical knowledge – if you posses any, or are willing to learn; if you can follow orders – without suicidal intend, but rather determination & willpower; consider yourself to be WvW oriented & adjusted your gameplay and thoughts to it .. and especially – “if” you are indeed serious about going for WvW as prime objective for you & your guild .. then you have reached the first step – and I have use for you.
I´m not promising you anything, nor gonna waste time with futile talk like some here; talking is for politicans & door to door sellers, after all.
Facts are simple. If you want something to achieve, you´ll be given the chance .. lot of work .. lot of responsibility .. high expectations .. and the better you are – the higher the bar will raise.
If you want challenge & believe that you´re up to it .. be my guest. I´ll show you, how deep the rabits hole goes.

.. I´ve seen, how 3x low lvls survived a 15man “zerg” .. I saw how 5xppl hold at one spot 30man zerg .. and I myself, with 4 other brave heroes stood against 50man zerg .. where 30 died, 15x scattered & only 5 chose a different tartget & went for it.
The pathetic excuse, that maggots nowadays use, about gear, lvl & numbers count – is just that .. pathetic excuse.
To organise, perform tactics & master your profession – that´s the primary goal you should aim for .. afterwards – it´s all about “small parties” facing zergs – and wiping them out .. cos it´s possible.
I´ve never seen a more balanced system, with this many options & possibilities, then in GW2-WvW. And this “opinion” of mine – can be easily supported by the actions of very few .. on all servers – that have shown it. I´m quite sure that even you & some on RoS have performed similar deeds.
.. anyway .. let´s get back to OP .. otherwise we´ll drift too much from it.
If you can permanently hold & mantain your border & the small corner in EB, you gain a set amount of points per each week – which will give you a specific spot in tier – when you know, where you stand – you´ll know what to do ..
.. when you learn how to properly defend – you´ll learn how to effictively perform offence as well ..
.. in other words, pick one objective for now .. master it .. and proceed from that .. the biggest issue of low tier servers is, that we want to sit on more chairs at once – that´s the only reason, why we are down.
Zero coordination .. zero cooperation .. small percentage of skill .. and even less brain. Seen it in the performance of all low tier servers. We need to start doing something about it, or we won´t raise up without outside help.
.. sorry that I went off topic, but I didn´t participate that much this week in WvW, due to paperwork on server projects. Anyhow, have as much fun as possible .. you can find glory in victory & in defeat. Honor & Glory, to bot our RoS & DZ opponents.
So the most active commander – is the best commander .. doesn´t matter on the actuall skill again? (sorry, had to put it up )
.. if you change it to the “vote” system – then it´s gonna be like .. either “the pop start” commander, or political campaigns – will start occuring.
( and I apologieze for not presenting constructive criticism, but only the negatives .. even if the idea to solve it is nice – I don´t think an actuall solution exists )

.. orders were flying around, like the arrows and cannon balls alike. Chaos & disorder at first look .. yet somehow the sense of discipline, arose when my gaze fell upon those two. A commander & somebody else .. they stood at the slowly breaking wall ..

Against an army that just by roar, damaged the gates? It´s not possible! Sieges were placed .. behind the walls .. up on the walls .. of all kinds .. Ballistas, ArrowCarts, Catapults .. every siege weapon was manned. Every second was accounted for .. every second was lost. There was no chance, nor hope .. no future .. the dead won´t be remembered .. the wall .. it´s crumbling .. who wants to die today?
The commander gripped his sword with full strength as he stood strong at the ruins of what once was a keeps wall. Eyes filled with determination .. throat dry .. this shall be his grave ..

I won´t ever forget that day. Noise of mortar shells falling down from the sky .. enemies rushing in thrue flames .. smell of burning flesh .. arrows piercing thrue them, crippling & cutting .. blood flowing like water in rivers ..
They didn´t fall one by one .. they were falling in masses to the ground .. a huge chunk of rock knocked some unfortunate to the ground & the rest flew back behind the wall .. shields of the defenders were holding them at the broken wall not letting a single one pass ..
Silence. Remaining invaders & defenders alike stunned by the scene that unfold before them. Sea of corpses with one commander & four others standing among them .. non of the invaders passed.
Second wave was comming, as the ground started to shake .. the banners & sound of march in the distanced .. third wave was comming ..
“I hate that tactician basterd .. always giving me the hardest work to do ..” .. laughed the tired commander as he rose his sword & shield again .. looking apon the incomming enemy ..
Not gonna say what server & when .. point being, you could have talked to the guy .. same think appears to be able with supply camp NPCs ..

Screen attached .. couldn´t ress a player – only “greet” him while he was dead. No friendly NPC present nearby – altou, I didn´t check under the texture.

.. this topic is about advertising one server .. No bragging, insults, or other BS. Let them do what they intended.
Provide more intell on your guilds, and where is your “server promo video”, btw?
Well .. it´s said, that the book gives 2k Toughness – under the condition the Commander tag is active – therefore there are a lot of “commanders” that .. well .. are useless.
Point number two .. you need to change the choice of words within the radius of 10min – learn better English, or the language used on your server .. if the block pops out wait 30sec – if you write again – anything within this period of time, the “blocks timer” will reset.
Also .. the commanders & squad leaders usually brainstorm thrue TS/Ventrilo/Mummble – communication software – which allows easier handling of troops & alters the set of rules around giving orders.
Heh .. general & basic tactics of Warfare. Been asking for that, writing & telling ppl for the past month .. nicely put on paper – for a military man, that is.
Sergeant, you served well your country – it can be seen from the conduct that you imply for others to follow. And I´m quite sure, that there will be many servers, that will try to get you among their ranks. Whatever server you chose to support – good luck.

Well .. it got changed, cos ppl don´t usually organized their movement – they only massively move & follow one blue dot afterall .. there were multiple ways how to counter the effect .. but due to repeated complains & mass spam in WvW forum – it had to go.
I didn´t raise my thief past lvl 35 – so never really tryed it; but experienced it many times, and nearly chewed on my keyboard. But the satisfaction in finally getting that lil toad sucker was always worth it.
Anyhow, thx greatfully to ArenaNet for their pre X-mas present into WvW.
There is nothing to discuss here. Report it and move on.
Deception & “trickery” is also part of the art of war .. don´t forget. Even the great Cicero once said “In times of War, laws are silent.” .. there is no “mercy” in competitive gaming. And most of “youngsters” don´t follow the code of honor/conduct .. it´s a game.
I´m aiming for balanced stats .. over 1,8k PPT & 1,2k+ in Vitality .. and I can tell ya .. if I engage a roaming Guardian Glass Cannon – fight for 5min .. a “tanky” Guardian .. 10 min .. and in all cases – always a close call.
Each class has multiple ways how to be played .. multiple “builds” & tactics in itself. The biggest edge that you can get is to find “the right” amount for stats & balance them – afterwards find your “own soul” in the nearly infinity options of your class – what you prefer most & what feels right .. to get an easier “hang of it” – you can beat & overcome in 1v1 anyone – especially a glass cannon ..
.. concerning group vs group – it all depends on party members – if you support each other & help, with party heals. ress, combos between different professions & hold different formation in different situations – you always have an easy win.
So called “zergs” – are in most cases brainless following of blue dot .. small scale warfare on the other hand, is a larger group of players, following a Commander & his orders by the word – achieving proficiency, coordination & impressive achievements – so in general understanding, it all falls upon leadership & the ability to trust/follow the leader.
And lastly to the topic of range. Especially at sieges. One rule remains always the same & always true .. siege – means a fortification & siege weapons. No auto-attack. No standing at walls, or below them with “auto-attack” ( which in this case is useful like /wave ) .. supplies at both sides .. and siege weapons .. all the time. When you are at a siege weapon – you always prove the point, that gear, lvl & stats – don´t matter .. even a 5 lvl player can 2-3 shoot a 80 lvl full exo .. seen it, done it – works like a charm.

Hmm .. all the sweet-talking .. geez, I hope I don´t get Diabetes from ya guys.
My dear friend. Defence of a fully upgraded tower .. provided with siege weaponry in advance & stocked with supplies, is a business of 5man party – for easier work on TS/Ventrilo/Mumbe – alto it´s not really necessary. And a hot coffee, cos you´re able to defend it for at least 3 hours – or until the enemy gets bored, desperate & rage quit.
You can not lose a tower if you are prepared, know what to do & have done some research (plenty of guides, threads on forums & I think a number of youtube vids are dedicated to this topic as well). I participated at defence of Bay .. that freaking thing was without supplies, and a single upgrade .. for two hours – nobody of our side decided to cap camps & hold them – what for? But commande Mouggari lead the defence & it went well. We did lose it in the end .. but we “stalled” for two hours.
Aanyhow .. if you want “hardcore” defencing .. then look for a German guild " Löwe" .. don´t remmember the specific server – but if you´re lucky, they might operate on more, or have a webside. Always when frontline guilds ventured into enemy territory, I got to listen to their “horrors” from there .. they encountered this guild on every fortification they came to .. each siege was prolonged by at least an hour .. they even build ballistas & hold supply camps .. these guys have the numbers & tactics to hold, or stall in defence their entire borderland .. and are one of very few opponents I enjoyed to listen about.
Second “server” I would recommend you, is RoF & their ICON guild .. server is low on numbers, and is quite low in ratings .. but these guys are able to hold their garrison 24/7 .. even when being assaulted & starved for 5 hours! .. in the meantime, send 20x ppl out to your territory, build 1-3x golems & flip your garrison within 2min ( unlucky – if not guarded ). Nuts!
.. or you can come to Underworld & follow me for a week – I´ll give ya at least basic training in defending .. hmm .. they might be also a free spot in [GuM] but these guys specialize in one tower – NE citadel tower only & tactical missions thrue out the main Border.
Last thing last – CHOOSE wisely! Since November, the transfer between servers is limited to a week .. but in the end – you can become a vagabond & explore more servers – enjoy your life. Good luck in your search.
I´m quite sure twas already mentioned .. but this “idea”, would also get rid of your .. ehm .. “unecessary” requests for change in the game mechanics. We have American, European & Asian regions .. multiple servers for each. So how about you take ONLY one, two groups & try out teaching, or doing something “abroad”? Transfers are limited by one week & you still be in your own guild – so social talk will remain the same.
Go have some “suicidal” fun .. point number two – with your knowledge of warfare, you will be able to 5man any low tier zergs .. won´t ya?

The counter-attack? Well .. that one was nice as well .. but the primary defence of Garrison & coordinated attacks against both servers .. mantaining, patrol & guarding of supply camps & scouts ahead – in your own Borderlands .. the 5man tactical teams .. and all in all .. the performance itself. Heh .. if you only had more ppl .. you would be in at least tier 3 of the ratings.

A pile of siege weapons all around the place & most of the players use auto-attack from walls – of course they die & start spamming about how unfair it is – that all the enemy is so OP ( while most members “of the enemy zerg” were low lvls )..
.. there is a bunch of Golems in front of the gate .. the empty catas behind the gate wondering about the color of grass; oil above the gate with full hp warming on the sun .. and most of the defenders full with anger & passion poking with auto-attack into the golems in mids of 30man zerg .. dying multiple times ..
We´ve hold a tower in 5ppl against 30man zerg for 1hour in 5x different waves .. cos everyone else was bothered with defence of Bay – which they of course lost. So when the “Commander & zerg” respawned & came to assist defending the tower .. we took a cofee break .. 5min past – guess what – tower gone.
The shouting part is not about being emotionaly unstable, my friend. It´s the brain, utterly tired & crushed from being surrounded by “briliant” people & not being able to comprehend how some things are simply possible.
First of all, read what I wrote .. twas a compliment not an insult .. second of all AA is a PvX guild .. half of them are only PvE players – so as a guild, they can´t be considered purely WvW.
Third .. heh .. I don´t want to insult UW server .. but let´s just say, that it was expected .. and plainly to be seen .. for those, who cared to take a look on the map. But indeed .. at that moment you took the initiative & fought your way to triumph.
UW “nightshift” consists of 8ppl ..
.. and all of them once studied in Europe, so .. they are here mostly cos of friends – so not a “true” WvW players .. and to the topic of “pure WvW guilds” .. well .. hmm .. don´t think we have one.

Repair-able siege weaponry? Too much of a risky & danger .. with enough big zerg .. anything could be capturable .. especially when outmanned. Nahh .. bad idea.
And to the topic of price. To have all sieges by placed upon one head – is idiotic – by all due respect. No change in prices. WvW is “ArenaNet” vision of Guild vs Guild .. a guild that claims a fortification, is supposted to take care of upgrades, siege weapons for defending, patrolling around & especially – guild buffs. Otherwise it´s all pointless & nonsense.
Advice to you guys – start seriously thinking what is the primary basis of WvW .. figure it out – and you´ll see there is nothing wrong with it.
In the options is a choice, that will turn off AoE circle & instantly cast the grenades at the spot, where you mouse is .. second .. when you encounter thief & you know your average thief – then you can throw those Grenades into a general directions – it´s easy to predict their moves – cos .. lately there are only few skilled thiefs out there .. – thus saying “no” to you auto-target-locking-throwing request. Grenades are fine as they are right now – couldn´t be better .. well .. with wider AoE they might get more cruel.
.. throw blinding grenade & poison .. go right to his face (hopefully) place down smoke bomb .. wait for him to “miss” on ya & move a bit to the left – to show that you placed a big ol´ bomb 5 sec ago .. send him flying .. that will teach the !#?@§?. -.-
Remmember .. after 2-3 fail attempts, then will leave ya alone.

Get your group into a tower .. build defences/sieges & upgrade it to max. Read all about defending, that you can find. And you´ll experience, that even with a group of few dedicated ppl .. you can wipe out 30man zerg.
R elixir – gonna ress ya, or anyone else & gives ya 2x more dodge rolls – that can save your life
Bomb kit + healing trait – when you are on TS & have 3x nukers ready & only need to immobilize, or slow down enemy zerg – that´s your way .. each bomb heals ya & with confusion – they´ll go all quicker down, while trying to “stay & finish ya” – while your buddys nuke them .. also place Smoke Bomb while finishing – the downed player can´t stop ya
I prefer to use the “Blindness chain” .. pistol, grenade, bomb .. if you use them properly – you can avoid most of the enemy dmg.
EDIT: Having a 5min duel with a Guardian can be prove of it.

I´m roughly holding PPT above 1,8k .. traits 2,2,3,0,0 .. CRIT ch 47 & dmg 22 .. divinity runes, healing & cond a bit below 500 .. shield, med, grenade & bomb kits with R elixir.
Heal & Cond are average, altou, I´m planning to get it up at least to 600 & most stats to 1,9k .. leaving Vitality at 1,2k .. all in all – a balanced build.
.. to answer your question, it´s all about variability. The main point of a support in this game, is not for all to rely on you – to save their sorry arses .. but for you to survive as long as possible, while providing assistance. Bombs with heals – for close-range profs are a blessing – every heal counts .. double roll back – throw few grenades ( thx to cond at 500, they will count ) .. always giving blindness – pistol, bomb, greandes (to heal dmg, is nice, to lower it, is also nice – to prevent – is a blessing!) .. if something still gets to you .. shield & big ol´ bomb will keep you safe, until aggro is reset.
And R elixir – well – if someone is down – you throw it .. if you´re about to go down – throw it .. if the entire party is down & you´re about to kick the bucket – find a nice spot with flowers & atleast two party members & throw it to your legs in the last second. You must prevail!

First thing first – Whiteside Ridge – good luck! Get some guilds before the reset & fully hold your Border to have at least one solid point income. And flip all enemy garrisons & waypoints – just for the sake of morale. Heh ..
.. to Gunnars .. your server publicly announced & welcomed new NA WvW guilds in your server .. never the less, you are indeed a tough nut crackers. Well organized, too well for my taste, always good at tactics & swift skirmishes. Keep it up, I hope UW can reach back on ya & meet you again – hopefully on equal terms this time.
RoF .. concerning your comment about the numbers – it´s complete nonsense. UW is a lot worse on it, then you think – the only thing that we have, is a solid bunch of ppl, that simply go on a rampage without thinking, tactics, or whatever kind of sense there is. Follow the blue dot!
Larger guilds & guild alliances have solved this issue via TeamSpeak .. check the websites of your Servers, or ask the commanders.
You can´t seriously expect ArenaNet to work 24/7 on new & newer updates into the game.

Seriously nothing in that place is related to skill.
Whoever has the bigger zerg, better siege or finer organization/coverage pretty much win. I’ve killed tons of people wearing nothing but lvl 30 blue (and no jewel), and i didn’t even have master traits.
Gear is the last thing that mattered in wvw, and it only matters if you’re a free roamer that happens to run into one or two people when you’re doing your vistas.

I´m not really sad to dissapoint you, but he´s not trolling, nor is he wrong. 3x lowbies, with ballistas at a lvl 4 camp can indeed wipe out a mindless 15man Zerg .. if a 20man zerg, that with one player agrooes NPCs away .. is against the same setup, but with a 80lvl Bunker – the Zerg will wipe out without a chance of retreat.
If you don´t have experience in WvW tactics, don´t push your ignorant “thoughts” upon other people, nor insult them. Your ignorance is your bliss & fall .. or in other words, “shush kiddo, this is not your place to talk”.
To you “Tamaskil.9841” .. gear, lvl, traits & numbers – do NOT matter in WvW. Tactics actually win wars .. and supplies. And to, what you posted, it´s a suggestion, not a solution. Afterall, if you would have spent at least a week in Structured, then you would know why .. altou it´s not a bad idea, on the contrary, it would prove to be quite an interesting experience, but I think, larger battles for sPvP have already been promised, so you might finally try that out.

I always carry “Elixir R”/ENG ress with me, so when I´m about to die, toss it on ground, where I´m about to fall .. many times, it´ll ress me back up on the first tick – even when receiving dmg, due to the fact that I play based on balanced stats – which includes Healing.
It might be the same matter, in case of your enemy encounter. Might have used a utility, or simply a PowerToughnessHealing build. Or, more simpler explanation – after all .. when in group, it´s always good to have at least one support based player around.
If the Vendor does not “go with” the lore, then at least make the recepie .. or a chance for drop .. or whatever .. find a solution .. cos if it stays as it is .. more & more “dissapointment” will pile up & this kind of thread will go on for quite a period.

Well, I got d/c durring the Event .. so I didn´t get the item in question, nor did I finish the event at all .. no hard feelings thou .. still, I personally, would go thrue the trouble of farming/buy-ing the shells, to recieve this item in question. I´m aiming for a balance build so it would help a lot.
ArenaNet .. with all due respect, place the NPC back, please. It would raise the morale of ppl, that think like wise a lot.
