True. Yet, no sPvP requirements.
How many unique posters are there in these two threads? How many actual players are thread? Even if there are a thousand, I still don’t think it would widespread.
It’s just FREE content so what do you mean by worth it I wonder. You get exotics for doing the ancient karka, and the new dungeon is hands down the best thing in the game for high levels. I love this update.
Everything, whether free or not, has a “worth” because it still costs time.
The reward was good but the actual event itself was zero fun for me. Thus, my answer remains no.
No. Probably worst event I was ever part of. COuldn’t see a lot, got few drops (yay condition builds get screwed over) and it was just a monotonous drag.
Yes, they should hire dozens of people to respond to every single forum post. Good call.
YB player here. Seems like we’re not as serious about WvW as a server as the other teams — Lost Shore is taking a lot. Outmanned buff on Friday night at 11pm EST when we’re competitive.
There is no hunter class in this game.
Lost 12.5k points.
It’s actually nice to be one of you people again. Fewer gasps when I do a pug dungeon.
Congratulations on your life.
Commanders and their world switching ability.

Sounds like someone who switched servers to either farm a dominated WvW map or spy on another guild. Otherwise not sure why it’d two months to move.
Nice work finding that, cybertx.
As a YB player, I honestly have to say FA players seem more dedicated — YB had queues when we had the lead and now we don’t have queues. I routinely see them acting better together as mobile units, especially saving each other’s skin in large zerg fights. Plus, they seem way more willing to spend money on siege, especially superior siege, and are capable of putting it up absolutely anywhere within a moment’s notice. Kudos to you. Even if the point lead is too much for you to get back, I think you’ve given YB our first real taste of top level competition (the SoR fight was far too lopsided to do that).

How is WvW not doable by all players?
Can’t you just buy the lodestones?
I have eight alts and whenever there’s a mesmer in the jumping puzzle, I run all my guys through it. This has happened often enough. Plus, I run some of them through the borderlands puzzles. I, as a single player, have more blueprints than I know what to do with. I think I have 10 golems across my characters and I never paid for one. So it’s hardly surprising that our WvW focused guilds would have a lot, both because of jumping puzzle gains and gold.
You are really coming across as a spoiled whiner and don’t seem at all representative of your server (at least, I hope not). We all want competition but if you just let people have something or you don’t make any effort to take something, then it’s no longer competition. It’s hardly a flaw of any person, guild, or alliance to do their best all the time and then let the chips fall where they may. This week, it’s on our side, next week we might get demolished but I doubt we’ll be hearing whimpering about people using golems or superior blueprints on us.
Night caps pretty much always reference NA, Mormi.
Well, sadly it looks like the other servers do not field much of an early morning presence.
I was the guy that bought all the Quentin Lake upgrades and also was running repairs with quite a few people (props to the DW guild on YB for putting a lot of time and effort into that, amongst others). At one point we were pulling supply from Langor and the keep to keep up. I also set up a ton of siege and that beat off a lot of attacks — you FA guys definitely came hard a number of times.
At the end, we had two walls down but we still fought you guys off for a good 15-20 minutes with repairs, arrow carts, and ballistas (the walls helped to tunnel you some) before you finally broke through all the way. It was truly an epic fight. Thanks to all involved.

Another thing to consider is not just financial cost but supply cost. All of those things you could buy also require a lot more supply than one golem. Plus, for assaulting with rams and cats, they require supply at the time of the assault. Golems only require it at the time of creation, which doesn’t have to happen during the assault.

Also, golems on underwater walls.
Golem + Mesmers = Fast, sneak attacks.
A bunch of golems being ported and time warped means walls go down super fast before there’s a lot of time to react. Much faster than dropping rams. Plus, you don’t have to worry about supply after you conquer a place since the supply has already been paid. If you think there’s no situation where golems are the ideal choice, you haven’t thought about it enough or actually seen it in action.
It’s useful if you’re farming. That’s about it.
I can’t believe someone really suggested 50-100K badges. Sounds like someone who has never played WvW for more than a few minutes. I mean, are you kittening kidding me?
Just because something bad is happening somewhere doesn’t mean a person’s life has to completely stop and focus 100% on it. Have you ever considered that, if a person has power, a video game might be a good distraction?
Because you get blueprints it’s a strategic objective to guard the jumping puzzle. The world is full of jumping puzzles — go do one of them. It’s not a violation of ToS.
It was defiantly the longest and most challenging fight? Strange wording. I could see it definitely being the longest and most challenging, though.
The speed boost doesn’t help that much with the jumps but in outracing the ooze.
Can you get the exotic reward from the clocktower with multiple characters?

Thanks for the confirmation!
Can you get the exotic reward from the clocktower with multiple characters?

I have eight 80s and wouldn’t mind running them all through it to get a pair for each, so I’d appreciate if anyone knows the answer.
I still don’t get why people complain so much about spawn camping when I only ever see spawn camping at the main entrance, not the side ones.
I do agree with the idea of being able to build siege at spawn — at least on borderlands. I don’t think it makes sense to allow that on BG because of the proximity to the keep. However, maybe that would be fine to keep things interesting when one server is dominating.
I cannot believe all the kittening whining going on here. It’s like this on every single board. Just whining about orbs, zergs, and unskilled players when one side is dominating. I’m sure when the whiners win they’re all just skilled superheroes. Heh. It’s so cliched already.

Being sold on the Tarnish Coast TP.
The TP is game wide. There is no server only TP.
Mesmer, not mage. God, people. Is it that hard to use the names of the actual classes?
Know how to spell your own class name. Thief. Not theif. Also not a rogue or rouge.
Periods are cool.
How about a match that runs from Friday to Sunday and one Monday to Thursday?
So, you all will go back to fighting each other when you even the points, right? :P
Sadly, I don’t think YB have the number of commanders that we had on Friday. Definitely makes a difference. At least I haven’t seen them around. We need you guys, you were good!
I don’t get you, preech. You constantly criticize attacking when it’s advantageous, as if that’s a bad thing. The objective is to win, is it not? Why would you purposely do something the hard way when a better way presented itself? Stop being such a petulant child. Already SoR is doing a great job today, so why don’t you leave it in game.
I find it amazing that people are whining about YB taking an undefended garrison. What, we should only try to take heavily defended ones? Heh.
Also, using a ton of golems/siege is not an exploit. Such a change in behavior from last round, which is disappointing.
