When crafting Eureka, I purchased 100 Icy Runestones instead of 100 Mystic Runestones. 100G mistake. Thankfully, Anet let me trade them back after a support call.

A couple of years ago, all the questions were about how to farm blade shards.
Now, I have stacks of them filling my bank, and would like to know if there is a way to make money from them? Anything I see on the wiki is account bound.

I’ve killed many white mosquitos over several weeks, while under the wolf spirit, but not gotten the Howler reward. I have all the others in Tier 1 of Howler. It seemed that Snowy Owl wasn’t working for a while, but I got that this week. Just mosquitos remaining.

Not sure if I need to raise a bug or not, but I just completed the Treasure Hunter achieve, and can’t find the Enchanted Treasure Chest in my home instance. I tried Divinity’s Reach and then Black Citadel, but can’t find it in either.

Can someone confirm where is should be? Or I need to do something else to activate it?

I’ve seen it mentioned a few times, mostly in WvW. Google searches comes up with either i) an iPhone app to chat with your kitten, or ii) A light command-line chat server within Telnet and SSH servers.

Can someone enlighten what it is, and how it is used?

thx Myrden. that in itself opens a lot more questions… such as how dailies will integrate, and more. But now I know there will be some level of integration, the rest is just gravy.

Please forgive my ignorance on how expansions integrate with the first game (if they always work the same way). I didn’t play GW1.
Will HoT effectively be a bunch of new maps that you can move to from the existing maps? And therefore, move between with existing characters?
Or will it be a different environment (and different executable?) altogether, with characters that you cannot take into Kryta?
Or something else?

Will there be a Wintersday merchant beyond today (Tuesday 13th)?

I’ve been playing for two years or so, and I just came across the Spider King in Apostate Wastes, Fireheart Rise, for the first time this week. It actually freaked me out. So many spiders! I think it would terrify an arachnophobe! An awesome take down, but definitely not a solo!

the issue with some of the Breast Cancr Awareness charities, is the word ‘awareness’. The Susan Komen charity spend less than 10% on looking for a cure. It is about raising awareness. Who on earth isn’t ‘aware’ of breast cancr?

We’ve had a fantastic season on FC. We’ve finished 2nd in our matchups almost every week; but the scenario has played out differently every time; we’ve been overtaken late in the week, made remarkable comebacks, had close games, been swamped by GoM, battled it out close with DR, SF, AR and DH. A brilliant season.

If you want to enjoy your WvW, get off your high horse, and come to FC.

If we consider WvW as end game content, then, are there many end-gamers not in guilds?

Therefore, we will continue to get the word out about needing help in WvW across the guild channels and by hopping across TS channels.

I can’t imagine ever reaching out for PvE playing, uplevel, non-guild players for help in WvW. They are rally-bots.

Would love to join as a NA student I can bring an 80 warrior, ele or mesmer. prefer the warrior. exotic gear.

- That playing WvW with teamspeak and without teamspeak is as different as night and day.
- The zergs forgetting to do a mesmer sweep will always have to go back and recap Bay and Hills.
- That enemy players will stay away from each other in Garnet, Sapphire and Emerald Sanctum, but can’t do so in Obsidian.
- That key-assigning Look Behind is paramount if you like to PvDoor.
- That Up-Levels should not be allowed in Zerg v Zerg
- That you can always find an enemy play dumb enough to let you party with them
- That, on a low level server, WvW remains my cheapest way to get around the PvE map. Jumping into WvW and then Ausura gate to Gandarran and beyond saves me much mullah.
- That, on a low level server, WvW remains my cheapest way to get to a crafters and vendors. Simply log out and I’m back where I started.

OK, perhaps I’m being dumb here….. but the patch notes said the number of tickets given out would be based on world place…. and then only listed 9 places getting tickets.
- Do we assume that the number of tickets continues past the 9th place? ie; 10th place gets 175 tickets and so on? In which case, 17th place get 0 tickets and 24th place owe Anet 175 tickets :->
- On FC, we are ranked 17th at the moment…. given that this is a coverage war, rather than actual skill, I can’t see how anyone in the lower levels can ever get enough tickets for any of the cool stuff (ie 300 tickets for 1 Mistforged Hero’s Weapon).

Hopefully I’m missing the point somewhere? Does the ‘Swiss-style’ Tourney mean that we have joint 2nd place, joint 4th place, etc. and so the worst placed world will actually be in joint 9th place?

A couple of tips to expand on…
- Blanger mentioned to look around all the time. I highly recommend key-binding “Look behind” to help with this.
- A couple of folk mentioned that if you go down, you will rez enemies. For this reason, don’t run with an ‘up-level’ character (less than lvl80) unless you have OKed it with the commander. The enemy will see you as ‘squishy’ and deliberately pick on you, to rez their own side.

I’d definitely love an invite to the guild, as a noobie. I’ve been running with Yakkington’s armor/travelers runes for a long time, which keeps me alive, but still gets me kicked from experienced pugs for not being aggro enough. So I’m finally saving up for the zerker/scholar gear, and I’m excited about learning something other than CoF.

One question: Do you really expect a casual warrior to switch to Nike’s 30/25/0/0/15 build just for dungeon’s when I’m usually running a 0/0/30/30/10 in WvW and PvE?

Defending in this game is NOT underpowered. It’s simply not rewarding, and so very few people are actually GOOD at it.

But too often towers and keeps are left empty and without siege until they are being attacked, at which time it’s often too late.

If defending was more rewarding, the tools are already in place to be successful at it.

I agree with Solstice. Make defending rewarding and more people will do it.

If I log on for 2 hours a night, I want to run around and pick fights, collect bags and get my daily laurel. I’m not doing that by sitting on an outer wall and waiting for people to come and attack. Nor is that any fun.

The meta for this game is attack, attack, attack.

The only time I’m going to defend is if there is a queue for EB, and I don’t have a zerg or raiding party to join in one of the BLs. Nor am I selfless enough to want to sit on a wall, and then spam map-chat when under attack, only for no-one to come anyway. Kitten that.

Perhaps a bit like Skyrim – Hearthfire? I did like the idea in Skyrim of having my own property in different towns, where I could store my things, and build different types of workstations in the house. Perhaps in GW2, we could buy a plot of land in LA, and have a personal locker and add workstations, and decorate the house with in-game purchases.

I think it should be done as Guild Housing first though…. since it leans more to the community spirit of the game.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looking at the cost of the research levels, I think I’ve added it correctly… it seems that a 50 slot stash costs:
Guild Cost: 1 silver
Research Architecture Level 1: 500 influence (1 gold)
Research Architecture Level 2: 1000 influence (2 gold)
Guild Stash: 1000 influence (2 gold)
Total 5 gold 1 silver.

I was hoping for a place to store all the stacks of dragonite, empyreal and bloodstone dust I’ve got filling up my regular bags… but of course…. it is all account bound, so can’t go into a guild anyway. Shame.

Hey gamesters.

I was looking at expanding my bank account vault to store some stuff that doesn’t fit into my collections. One extra slot would cost 600 Gem, which currently translates to approx. 44 Gold at the current prices.

Then I realized that creating my own guild only costs 1 silver, and a guild Stash with 50 slots costs 1000 influence, which I can buy outright for only 2 Gold.

It seems a lot cheaper to create a personal guild and stash stuff that way, than to expand my account vault.

Does this make sense, or am I missing out on something?

Are there any other reasons to create a personal guild (as well as the one I run around with).

Saw one outside of Skradden Slopes in SW Snowden Drifts as well.

The last two visits to chambers, I’ve cleared the first room, but the roots don’t clear, so I can’t get any further.

Wassup with that?

So after another two hours of grinding in the first level, I got one blue key from a chamber (from four chambers visited) and one blue key from a champ (out of one champ faced). No blues from elites, vets, or hallucinations. Kind of makes sense.

I’ve been in the tower for 2 hours and haven’t had a single blue key drop yet. Is there any rhyme or reason as to who drops them? Elites, Champs, Vets, or totally random?

Cannot complete the “drive off the aetherblade pirates” airship in Gendarran Fields.. Got morale down to around 20%, but the airship is just floating up there and nothing happens.
Any ideas?
