I have a level 17 human warrior and haven’t yet been able to find a heavy armor that will even protect my player’s crotch.
I’ve used them some in PUG story dungeons with players that are not at level 80 and go down more often.
ArenaNet made them more powerful a while back but I guess still not strong enough for any serious interest. That said, reviving players is not a totally insignificant part of the game and if made sufficiently strong the runes must have some decent value.

Does anyone use Superior Runes of Mercy?
(1): +25 Toughness.
(2): Gain up to 400 Toughness, while reviving an ally, based on your level.
(3): +50 Toughness.
(4): You resurrect allies with 30% more health.
(5): +100 Toughness.
(6): You revive allied players 20% faster.
What happens if more than one player with Runes of Mercy revives a player, do attributes (4) and (6) stack?
It seems that these runes might be helpful in some dungeon situations but they are practically free (2.5 silver each).
It’s the little accomplishments in life that make it worth living. ^^
Congrats on your death (if that’s the right thing to say).

What’s the rationale for making azurite orbs impossible to acquire? They were available at some point before I started this game, but now azurite orbs and exquisite azurite jewels are only available on the trading post at outrageous prices.
Can creative future update?
Always update some useless story, not a lot of bug fixes
I want camel ride seals, elephant riding, riding dragon, wvw flight combat
I want to parachuting, gliding cliff jump, I want to ski, paddle, ride balloons.
i want fly in the gw2
I want to design their own clothes, Instead of buying designer clothes.
Maybe you could get enough of what you want if the game allowed you to control a free fly camera, as some games do. This would allow you to fly over all of Tyria with a birds-eye view. I’m not sure how difficult it would be for Anet to add such a feature.
The locked skins in the wardrobe are too faint to see at all. Could you darken them so we can better decide which skins we would like to preview (right click). Thanks.

Thanks all! I’ve got a lot to learn.
Okay, that thief short bow is pitiful piece of junk. AOE damage from poison gas and cluster bomb are nothing and inconvenient to use. Together they took off about 10% of npc health. I’m used to playing ranger and its short bow is about 10x better. I’ve now read others who won’t touch that thief short bow (unless combined with necromancer?).
A bunch of my traits had been changed in screwy ways when I went to PvP which threw things off – it’s not as bad as I thought. If you start the battle with back stab and then begin the real fight that helps.
Sorry for being a frustrated noob, but this class offers very little more than it did 40 levels ago.

Fixed the photo quality on my Norn ranger:
That’s an uncommon look for a ranger. Very nice.
Oh, thank you very much!
In the Heart of the Mists PvP combat training area where you can spar with NPCs of different professions, there isn’t a ranger to spar with. Why not?
I just got my thief to level 80 and took her the Heart of the Mists PvP combat training area where she can spar with NPCs of different professions. She is so weak compared to my ranger! Ranger can beat them all without losing a point of damage. She has to slug it out and barely come out with a win. It’s embarrassing. The only option I’ve found for beating these NPCs is p/p “unload” while running around and dodging. But p/p is supposed to be totally useless according to the posts here.
I can, however, see that in actual PvP (which I’ve barely played) a thief’s shadowstep and stealth moves may cause havoc, especially the for the inexperienced opponent. It’s not a shadowstep, it’s teleportation.
Also, everyone claims to be a total zerker thief (in PvP and PvE) with d/d and s/d. But a total zerker thief can’t even take a few shots from a pet lynx without being in crisis mode.
What’s the trick?

The 6th attribute on Rune of the Dolyak, regenerate health every second, is still way too weak. It’s weaker than really cheap regenerating food. Considering how strong the 6 attribute is on most runes, this rune needs a decent step up in power.
My Screenshots always come out really dark no matter what I do to the settings on my computer or in the game – so turn the gamma up to see them. But here they are, an Asura thief and a Norn ranger:
When I put my Asura thief into stealth and there’s a lot of surrounding action, I lose track of her. This makes getting off backstab difficult. Does anyone else have this problem?
What’s the max damage you see from longbow’s Rapid Fire and greatsword’s Maul?
Pet AI definitely did change a few months ago. The pet used to automatically attack your target and now you need to tell it to attack. When you are leveling, having to tell your pet to attack every creature becomes a pain. You used to just use Hunter’s Shot and Sic’Em and your pet was all over your target. Now you fire, look at your pet standing around and tell it to attack. In dungeons, I sometimes lose track of my pet, assume it’s in combat and then realize it’s just hang’n out next to me doing nothing.
I also think that the pet used to attack any creature that was attacking you, so when you were harvesting and some creature attacked you, your pet took care of the pest.
If you use the Concentration Training trait (increases boon duration from pets by 50%) then you always remember to tell your pet to attack before using (e.g., Furious Screech or Mighty Roar) because the pet must be in combat for the trait to function. You can tell the pet to return to you immediately after it screeches or roars.
The reason, I think people wanted pets to be more directly obedient. Also, other players were getting upset at players with disobedient pets.
Totally off topic, but I just leveled a thief to 70 and it was not fun at all compared to playing a ranger. Boring little weapons, no pets(!) – it’s been a chore.
According to the Guild Wars Official Wiki, “While underwater, the equipped breathing apparatus automatically replaces the equipped headgear, so to maintain the same bonuses while underwater, both the headgear and breathing apparatus must be equipped with the same rune.”
I had never thought of this.
Fashion gold armor:
http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/F2007RTW-AMCQUEEN/#20
I think people like the female armor and the noises the female players wearing them make.
I also always use food. I like Dragon Breath Buns or Dragonfish Candy but at some point during dungeons am often forced to Mango Pies to stay alive (don’t know if the mango pie comment was a joke).
Why do toughness runes have such weak attributes compared to strength runes?
I’ve tried to start playing a mesmer and the game freezes up all the time, especially when doing my personal story. I’ve played a ranger for months and never had the game freeze once. My computer has sent a bundle of error reports to Anet, but I’m pretty much just going to have to give it up with the mesmer.
When I play dungeons (pugs), I only see some players using potions to maximize damage (and survivability). This is true even for zerker groups. I always use an appropriate powerful potion (I’m not a really experienced player and have a ranger, which is not everyone’s favorite dungeon class). The powerful potions only cost about 2.5 silver for an hour (the potent ones are a few copper pieces).
Thanks for the help. I should have just saved them up until I learned what to do with them. Lost some gold but not a ton.
Depending on what you’re doing, it’s sort of fun watching bloodlust stacks build up.
It used to be the case (a few months ago) that you would not lose your bloodlust stacks even if all weapons with a bloodlust sigil were disarmed. So you could build 25 stacks with bloodlust weapons and then arm sigil of force weapons. Now you have to always keep at least one bloodlust sigil up or the stacks disappear (Anet has that also mean you need a bloodlust sigil on at least one of you under water weapons to avoid losing your bloodlust stacks when you go under water – an extra 10g for the superior sigil).
Thanks for the help. I got some advice at the dungeon forum too and watched a youtube video. Now I know how to use the dungeon tokens. I should have just saved them up until I got help. I’ve lost some gold but not a ton.
Sorry, many, many posts about this on “Forum and Website Bugs.”
Sorry, real old issue.
Search is not working for me on any of the forums. I guess this has been an on and off problem: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Search-this-forum/first#post4197277
No, search on this forum has been broken for ages: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/forum/Search-feature-not-working
Thanks, search on the other forums is not working either now.
Either my computer is having problems or the search feature on this forum sometimes doesn’t work. It’s probably the former but anyone else having problems?
I missed a few might stacking options for Rangers: elite skill Rampage as One (1 stack for 20 seconds) and Marksmanship adept trait Beastmaster’s Bond (3 stacks for 10 seconds upon pet’s health falling below 50%)
I don’t need any more armor or weapons so when I accumulate dungeon tokens (e.g., Symbols of Koda) I buy a weapon and salvage it. I have a few Black Lion Salvage kits that I’ve obtained from daily reward chests, which I use for this.
What I’ve found is that you have no better chance of getting greater rewards from an expensive weapon like a great sword (390 tokens) than you do from an off hand weapon like a warhorn (210 tokens). The salvage from these weapons can include Sigils (~3 silver), Globs of Ectoplasm (~40 silver), globs of dark matter (used for crafting) and Orichalum Imbued Inscriptions (from ~10 gold for Berserker’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription, which come from weapons with Berserker stats, to ~ 3.5 gold for Soldiers Orichalum Imbued Inscription).
What I’ve found is that I never receive the Berserker’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription (from, e.g., Flame Legion Berserker-stat Weapons) but sometimes do get the Soldier’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription (from, e.g., Kodan Soldier-stat Weapons).
This can’t mean anything but I’ve done better salvaging items when it’s nighttime in Tyria rather than daytime
What is your strategy/experience in getting the most out of your dungeon tokens?
Note: I don’t do any crafting.
Thanks.

You can make an excel spreadsheet with formulas and play around with the numbers to see how different items will affect your total damage output.
I found out the hard way. Bought the runes for my ranger (100g) and then posted a comment on the GW2 Bugs Forum about the runes not working with the Jungle Stalker’s Mighty Roar (15 seconds of 5 stacks of might for up to 5 nearby players, which would increase to 21 3/4 seconds – the recharge is only 25 seconds ).
Others explained to me that the rune does not affect might applied by a pet (or another player). I just searched for a link to the topic, but can’t find it anymore – I guess it’s too old now.
Aside from Mighty Roar, warhorn (Call of the Wild – 1 stack of might for 15 seconds) and Marksmanship master trait Beastmaster’s Might (3 stacks for 15 seconds upon activating a signet), rangers can’t stack might except by adding Sigil of Strength or food (I’ve found none of the might stacking food is worthwhile even with the Runes of Strength).
I could not find a build where Beastmaster’s Might was an effective option.
Also, I was informed that nature magic adept trait Concentration Training would increase boon duration from my pets (including Mighty Roar) by 50% to 22.5 seconds. (Note: the pet must be in combat so you cannot stack before commanding the pet to attack, and this trait does not work in pvp: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Concentration_Training)
When you’re a norn, it’s often hard to get a good look at neat little Asuras.
ArenaNet recently changed the stats for this item from:
(6): +20% Might might duration; +7% damage while under the effects of Might might.
to
(6): +20% Might might duration; +5% damage while under the effects of Might.
With these runes plus a Superior Sigil of Strength, you are always under the effects of might, so decreasing the damage bonus while under the effects of might from 7% to 5% is a significant decrease in the value of this item.
Does anyone know if the operation of this rune has changed in any other ways since ArenaNet made this change?
Note: the rune only affects might that a player places on himself not might obtained from other players or the player’s pet (e.g., jungle stalker’s mighty roar).
Also, any other thoughts on this rune (too powerful for some professions versus others)?
Guild Wars 2 has just responded VERY kindly to my problem re the Ring of Red Death. I am most impressed! Thank you very much Guild Wars 2 Support.
Thanks, wasn’t actually upset by the lack of response, as the community answered my questions well.
A similar greatsword problem occurs with the ranger greatsword skill swoop. You fly across the screen at a stationary target then take a huge swing that misses. If these flaws are intended they are stupid.
Thank you everyone for the help.
I’ve emailed customer support, but doubt I’ll receive a response. I’ve emailed support before and only received questionnaires asking about the quality of the support.
I tried to salvage the second ring of red death but that doesn’t work.
I just bought a ruby orichalum ring (5g) that is almost as good. I like the azurite mithril jewelry (power, toughness, vitality) when trying to improve my survivability. My amulet is the Mark of the Imperial guard (power, toughness, vitality). I like playing pve dungeons and everyone wants Zerkers so I thought I’d get more Zerker jewelry.
For some reviving Zerkers might be the most fun part of playing with them.
Thanks.
Thank you for the response, but I don’t see how a forged infusion (which I believe is also used in the infusion slot) would work differently. Those forged infusions have agony resistance but are really expensive to craft.
ArenaNet please clarify, and thank you very much.
Hello ArenaNet Support Staff,
I bought a second Ring of Red Death for my ranger character for 35 laurels and was unable to equip the ring.
I looked online for an answer to this problem and found that another user (Empire Trini.2536) had this same problem. ArenaNet Content Designer Jeffrey Vaughn responded to the user stating: “The ring is unique, meaning you can only have one equipped. (Unless you infuse one of the rings, so it counts as a distinct item).”
I commented on this feed that the same thing had happened to me and I was frustrated that there was no warning, but that I would wait to obtain more laurels so I could purchase an infusion for one of the rings (though also noting that I would prefer that ArenaNet just send me an infusion so the ring would work).
I then obtained 5 more laurels and spent the 5 laurels and 125 Badges of Honor to purchase a Mighty WvW Infusion. I infused one of the rings and then attempted to equip both rings. Still, only one would equip!
I would greatly appreciate being refunded the laurels used to purchase the second Ring of Red Death (on the previous feed, one user noted that ArenaNet does make similar types of refunds). With the refunded laurels I can purchase a Crystalline Band, which has the same properties as the Ring of Red Death.
Thanks you very much for your help on this matter.
Hello Jeffrey,
The same thing has happened to me. I’m irritated. There is no warning. I’ll wait until I get the laurels to infuse one of the rings – better please send an upgrade infusion to my account.
Thank you.
You are right about the operation of the rune – it only affects might applied by the character activating it.
The period of might applied by the signet activation had already been increased by the rune (the default period is 15 seconds) so that was my error. Concentration training does work to increase might from Mighty Roar.
It would be nice if the official guild wars wiki was more clear.
Thank you for the replies.
