This is… unfortunate. Lynxes are probably my all time favorite wild cat, and I was quite disappointed that I couldn’t make my charr in the image of a lynx. Seeing as Rox is the only face that, so far, has this style (eyes are still WAY to big on Rox though, but I like the face) and you go and say it won’t be available for character creation, makes me sad.

They will probably add another lynx base face for males and females… as well as other new world cats and domestic cuties… oh hey they might make one based off a main kitten cat… I want my cute male charr and i want him now… I want to play the runt of the litter… so keep your chin up they will come… they will come…

So basically he is worse then Kormir.. great I have something to look forward to…

Everyone’s missing the obvious answer – the Kormir monastery in Queensdale produces beer. Both of the traditional variety and all sorts of experimental brews. They’re basically Tyria’s first craft/micro-brewery. Why would you not worship her?

In seriousness, I will never understand the Kormir hate. People complained about Rurik always getting himself killed, so they made Kormir as an NPC not participate in the fighting – and then people complain about her ‘doing nothing’ and becoming a god.

Additionally, a lot of what she does is behind the scenes, particularly in the Realm of Torment – as draxynnic noted, her direction, planning, and leadership of the lost souls there were critical in assaulting Abaddon’s realm.

Beyond that, like it or not, she is one of the Six and the Goddess of Truth and Knowledge. Any who value those attributes (scholars and members of the Priory come to mind) would naturally pray to Kormir for enlightenment and clarity of mind. I for one choose Kormir at character creation as I see my character as a seeker of truth and historical knowledge, and Kormir’s domains fit perfectly with that.

This brings up an important question… How does a god of order, law, knowledge, truth, and spirit become associated with booze? I guess the more you drink the more your inclined to tell the truth.

Basically famous daddy takes son from famous mommy to raise… Because famous daddy loves her so much he wants nothing to get in the way of her growing into a truly legendary figure among the norn. (though we all know she ends up surpassing that and becomes famous among all races.) He goes so far as to ask his friends to raise his boy when he passes and even demands that no one tell her he is dead. Out of fear she will be tempted to go there and raise him rather then become the great and heroic figure she is now… Kind of romantic if you think of it like a norn.

i like the epic concept art cinematics when used to explain things from the past… but for everything else these old fashioned cutscenes are good

Hey everyone, this is Aaron Coberly, the Lead Character Artist here on Guild Wars 2. I can see that there are a lot of strong feelings about the design decisions for Rox so I wanted to come on and set the record straight. The goal with Rox was to expand the charr’s visual options. She is a young charr so we thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce the cute kitty cat end of the spectrum. This isn’t a change of direction but an expansion of the race. Our goal is to add more variety to all of the races over time and we saw this as a good opportunity to do this with the female charr. The charr are a feline race, which gives us a lot of options—from the grizzled matronly lioness to the strong puma and even the cute house cat. We don’t want to limit our options to just one section of the feline genus. Our designs are inspired by all the feline variety that exists in nature.

I’m very upset w/ their decision to make him Braham Eirsson… I just finished the current living story quests involving him; but I feel like they should have never existed. It made it seem like his “legendary” father (which there’s 0 lore about ANYWHERE) took him from Eir when he was a baby or at least very young. What has me confused about this, is the fact that Eir acknowledges him as her son. So his father took him to the village in Wayfarer, died, and Braham was raised by villagers/shaman. So Eir KNEW he was there, but chose to not raise him. This seems rather ridiculous; as w/ the lore we have of Eir, she could NOT just leave her child. Look how hard Snaff’s death hit her; she just doesn’t seem capable of that. Which genuinely makes me very very upset as she’s my favorite NPC character; but this makes her seem like an unfit mother, and in general just an overall bad parent.

for all the things we know about Norn society there are still going to be things we don’t know…

They could have done better with his face to make him younger then his mother… I guess norn children are named after the parent who is more famous and more known…

i think we should have a side by side comparison of a male norn with slimmest body type standing next to him

oddly her eyes are growing on me… but we should focus on the important thing here… her hair… her horns… her fur pattern… her face… and her bow….

Its just a great pun, the ’mole’ten alliance, only reason I can see for it being the dredge. I do like the dredge but I don’t think they fit this story that well and it seems a bit villain races put in a hat and pull two out.

I kind of want to be what ever class Braham is… he wields a cool mace and sheild and his armor doesn’t look heavy, warrior, guardian, knight, or soldier styled… it seems more of an adventurer type armor…. i want… and i want my norn to have his body type.

I think you’re looking to far into this for something that isn’t there. It’s probably just supposed to give the picture a Necro look. If it was just an Asura with green glowing eyes it wouldn’t really have a “Lord of Death” feel to it. The arms are added for extra effect.
