I would like to see basic infinite tools in the shop all the time. For maybe 600 gems. Plain, boring, no animations or particle effects. Then, special animations/skins could still be sold periodically for 800 gems. And maybe a small discount for buying the 3 pack set.
Wasn’t Glint telepathic?
The Tengu were originally intended to be a playable race. Their mesh is the same as charr. However, I suspect Tengu got scrapped in much the same way as Divinity’s Reach’s Canthan/arts district. Last minute objections & off to the scrap heap.
Oooh! Like a belt?!?
They are rather coarse & unrefined, but some people apparently like them. More power to them. I’d like to see “Design a Weapon” contests like we had in GW1. Those were always fun.
Buy gem cards from Best Buy & redeem those?
If you’re in Europe & have changed to a NA server, you’re going to have higher pings & thus lag.
If I were designing the boss blitz, I would have added a 7th event area that occupies the center of the pavilion. Mobs of the various 6 varieties continually spawn and seek to capture the center ring (where the WP is). If they succeed, all 6 of the boss events FAIL immediately and NO REWARD is given.
This defense event would allow the players who are not fighting the bosses to contribute towards the event as well without the need to tag a boss or afk in the middle.
I’d also make all of the event circles one big event, so that you’d only ever get event credit once per cycle (meaning pick one circle and stay there as moving to the others won’t get you any additional EXP, Karma, coins, or other rewards).
I like it.
Me too. Maybe make the center regular mobs instead of veteran or champion. That way your uplevel toons can contribute more meaningfully.
So, is it safe for me to open my chest? Or just wait?
Since we done gone & necro’d this. I think the main issue for many, many players is that RNG isn’t very legendary nor is it any actual achievement of accomplishment. I totally would support a scavenger hunt that, in the course of your map completion & Explorer achievements, you collected certain bits that Miyani accepted to craft your precursor. It would need to be much more comprehensive than the Black Moa chick though.
I joined Boss Blitz Bros seconds after they spammed their first recruitment in Divinity’s Reach for this very reason. I’ve gotten over 100 gold boxes now. I was going to save them, but I’m impatient, lol.
And it’s obvious from some of y’all’s responses that y’all never experienced THK or DOA in their earliest incarnations. Or that kitten Prince Rurik…
Just wow… Smh…
It’s really not that serious guys…
I guess to ensure that everyone really is donating their share, you could have them mail it to their commander & they make the donation for the group.
I just want dodge ball back. Please!
Blitz is super fun with an organized megaserver map. I’ve been playing the last couple days & getting a ton of gold & silver boxes.
I just spent nearly 12 hours on Boom, over & over. I think I had something like 26 gold boxes & 14 silver ones. Maybe a stray bronze. In 99% of those fights, Boom was ready first or second.
There’s two whole titles in GW1 based on paying in game gold to be AFK. The wiki included metrics on the fastest way to achieve them versus the cheapest.
They basically threw their old “no grind” philosophy out the window & introduced multiple avenues of grind with the “Feature Pack”, which we may as well just call GW2: The Grind Wars Edition™
The whole point of GW2 was the destruction of the trinity. That’s why there are no targeted heal other skills in the game. There are splash heals & area heals that heal YOU (and any allies in the area). The designers specifically set out to get rid of the tank/dps/heal trinity. EACH player can & should be doing a little of each for themselves.
I’m rather confused.
I’m trying to get my daily points every day because I am about 200 points from my next wiggly box. I’m quite excited for it since it will be my first bigger size box. (2500)
There are two color spaces that images are usually saved as. AdobeRGB & sRGB. I do not entirely understand them, but they will affect how an image looks when it is displayed.
I can’t salvage my Vigil gear, which is bought with gold mind you.
Can I just say that I love you kind-hearted mesmers that port me to the tops of JPs. I am really quite bad at them. And I really, REALLY appreciate it. I’ve been to the tops of five puzzles now. Only one without the aid of a mesmer. And that one was with a hand holding “jump here, follow me” guide.

Please for the love of Glint, not every single thing in the game needs poo prints!
You know that difference may be due to the color space used when the image is saved.
OP isn’t “right”. He has an opinion, one which he’s entitled to. Others like the new options.
Oh, there’s a carrot on a stick for sure! Those dang wiggly boxes that pop up on my screen!
I really do wish there was an instanced way to visit LS content because I spent most of the last year AFK due to RL. I would just like to be able to see/play some of it.
I thought the achievement point chests were supposed to reward with gold?
Well, I got cut off there.
GW2 is an MMORPG that’s a living, changing world. Yes, that creates problems for the personal stories for new characters & players, who’ve never seen LA in all its glory. I think ANET is making efforts to build the framework of a great world, a stage for stories going forward. I hope they’re successful.
I love the Guild Wars universe. I have criticisms of some areas, praise for others. I tried WoW. I tried to like it. Between not liking AND having to pay a fee monthly, Blizzard lost me. I went back to playing GW1 & was happy there. However, it was not really an MMORPG by the time Nightfall came. It was more of a single player online RPG with graphic chat rooms (towns). GW2 is an MMORPG
I log in, look at the daily list, pick the 5 I can/want to do & off I go. If there are only 3-4 I enjoy doing, I pick the “least bad” from the rest to do. I may or may not finish on those days.
Yeah but those crafted ones also take a large volume of mats each. Which again is gold, gems or time spent farming them
I’m wondering if AN expects folks who will be crafting future legendaries to buy their UID from the gem shop. That’s an exorbitant amount of gems/gold if they do…
What’s the difference between the watchwork & molten one?
Lol sorry I mean Trading Post Wars. Sorry for the confusion.
This game’s loot/rewards have sucked since beta. And there’s no end in sight. I’m all for rare stuff, but it’s pretty ridiculous that the only real method of farming is Trading Post Wars.

I couldn’t roll me a 7 if you gave me loaded dice.
Troll, bandit, wasp, boar, oak. SBI.
I remember doing my Thirst Slayer… what a pain!
Oh wait, I gave up on it, no sane human can handle all that clicking
I take it that you weren’t a drunkard in GW1, then?
The original drunkard title was ridiculous, you had to wait out the minutes while drunk, you couldn’t just spam click.
That’s exactly what I’m referring to. It was expensive, time consuming, brutal.
From the viewpoint of a hoarder, bank tabs and collection expanders.

My daughter did hammer the heck out of the Queensdale train this past week & got her character from 0 to 40 & with a little starter purse of 15 gold. I think she did pretty good considering. My son, who had to go out of town, got his toon to level 26 & has a little pile of about 5 gold. While neither of those amounts will go very far, they do have a little stash to buy basic items that they need. They’ll pretty well rely on drops for new armor & weapons for quite a while yet. My own main, level 80 before I stopped playing, has a set of exotic weapons, but only rare armor. And she’ll stay in that until I can afford better.
I’m just coming back after a hiatus of over a year due to family medical issues. I bought 2 more accounts so that each of my children have their own accounts. While I’m upset that there’s no efficient means of gold income, I think that the four of us will be able to play together & enjoy the game. If there’s something we want from the gem shop, we might buy it, depending on whether or not I feel it’s worth the price.
The people who speed-ran CoF and got their dungeon armor in 2.5-3 hours are now whining that the rest of us will have a chance to get our armors in fewer, but more time-consuming, dungeon trips? lolwut? Seriously, at the end of the day, you will still have earned more gold and obtained your armor faster than after this change is implemented. Anet introduced lowered gold rewards and reduced drop rates to discourage speed running. In order to balance that for players coming up now, they need to adjust the drop tables for tokens. The early runners do still have the advantage though of having obtained dungeon armors in 15-20 short, quick, efficient runs. Everyone else will have to take long arduous journeys. Increasing the token rates eases that sting just a bit. (Making one universal “dungeon token” currency would be even better, but I don’t see that happening.)
