under water, a fantastic part of GW2 left to rune… Devs cant be bothered to improve it, its just left negleted, must be too much hastle ensuring ALL classes skills work underwater not just concentrating on weaver!!! (Revenant) has only 2 elite classes functioning underwater … since release
Skills and bad camera angles, then its great!
All these new skills feel like they are a mishmash mess from all other classes, yet in a weaken form that seem to just be thrown together with little thought or effort. No real identity for the Revenant.
I too mirror the comments of others saying that the Revenant was a great class, but its has been just a constant depressing nerf since launch. I think we where all looking forward to this new build being fun and on par with other classes.
It just feel that the Revenant class has being neglected and forced to be behind even further.
Would the definition not be : “Has enough time to just get the bare minimum done”
I am casual, this is due to being a Paramedic and working around 60 hour shifts usually 12 hour days.
I litterally have enough time during the working days to login do dailies then fall to sleep after shift, i then play 4- 6 hours on my rest days.
Now im not complaining, i have no issues taking longer etc.
What does annoy me for example, ive taken over 3 months to aquire a full vipers set of trinkets over 3 LS maps, faming jades/ berries / wood.
To have the goal post now move, so it seems after expansion my Neco Vipers main will not be meta, and i will be forced back down the power ruit, and really the time involved is putting me off… ive become disheartened with all this and not logged in for 5 days
I dont understand what gliding “adds or improves” WVW, there are a lot of things that would improve WVW, i wouldn’t have put adding gliders in that list.
I would like a ANET response to actually state why they decided this?
So i spent like 2 months “grinding” all three living story map currency collecting to obtain full vipers trinkets, i then spent 2 months “grinding” pvp for asended wepons and Armour, i then change all stats to vipers… so i have been on this grind conveyor belt, put there by ANETS as these LS maps where the only way to obtain vipers… now after ive done the hard work, they are telling me my condi necro build will be rubbish its Power based now!!!!
Is this any better than the WOW gear grind, for it then to be changed?

Ok so looking at the new skills/ classes etc Its overwhelming to see that basically all classes have multiple modes with the F keys, like ele always had f1-f4 for different elemental skills.
All these new class skills have the 4x f keys, and more skills under rotation like rev uses herald/ glint etc
So instead of building new skills, it just seems they over complicate thing by having so much going on, and it being a dexterity Challenger over a skilled knowledge one.
How do you add distinct functionality without contextual limitations? Adding new binds is the only way to make that happen. For instance….. how do you use the new “context action” with the existing keys, without it robbing the original functionality of that key when active? F is our base line interaction key… and thats used for too many things to count; but it can be limited to physical proximity as its context. However, the Action key is conditional and completely disconnected from anything other then a specific, exclusive state on the player. Its identical in concept to “bundles”, which robs the skill bar when active, and can only have one state loaded at a time.
What expanding the F-keys is doing, is avoiding the requirement to load something into a slot in order to change whats actions it triggers. Again, Kits being an example of this. Or Rev’s Facet of Nature being universal to the Espec, but not forcing it to displace another skill in the Core Rev’s limited line up.
No thats nonsense, how many expansions did gw1 get … at every expansion did we get another set of key bind? or did we just get skill diversity… i dont want more skills to use ontop of the current skills i use, i want the same amount of skills with more choice and a diverse build … nonsence to expect it to be normal on every expansion to get another layer of binds …
And to the person who says bind the key, is this allowed? is there a system in game for key binding skill sequences?

It will be a massive issue if the mount skills are hidden behind hours of mastery progression, so casual people are penalized. I still haven’t got all the current mastery done after over a year of HOT, do i want to wait that time frame to get access to mounts?
I love GW2, but i have a job working 12 hours a day as a paramedic… im sure lots of other people are in the same position. I accept you need to put the time in for cool elite stuff, but these skills and stuff that limit the ability to enjoy the new areas i find im being forced to grind to keep up.

Please can we have a mastery reset option … im sure there are lots of people who like myself didn’t fully understand the system and limitations/ time sink to achieve all that are needed, to max out… so casuals needed to be savy with picking the correct lines…. but many of us made mistakes, and there is no option to reset since HOT was released.
It must be every other game, when there is some comment that such a player is a bot, has this issue become worst recently?

They allot us ascended trinkets and back piece (which is armor in the TP). Anet doesn’t want to make ascended armor/ weapons easily available except in raids and fractals. This has to do with the level 80 cap. In exchange for no new levels or armor grinds they are using rarity to replace the level grind. Also a bonus of this type of progression is that for those who’ve spent tons of time earning them don’t feel cheated by it now being easily available. It’s a strategy to avoid the armor and weapon creep that normally plagues RPG’s.
Are you joking, by far the easiest way to obtain Ascended is in pvp.

-YES they need to access the login server, by bombarding packets thus not allowing other traffic access as normal, i would hazard a guess they are using free accounts to do this.
Exactly. We want new players in the game. There will always be DDOS attacks until the internet is perfectly protected and I don’t think that will ever happen.
Hmm to bombard the login server they need accounts and 1000s/ 10,000 + do you really think they would do this with paid accounts lol … hence there where no DDOS issue prior to free trail accounts.

Yes you may loose a few new players, isnt that worth being able to play with out lag and dc, also do you not think they loose more from the cash shop not being used in the mean time?
Block all current “trail” / “free” accounts and stop the creation of new accounts, until the DDOS stops?

I really hope you have not tried to go cheap with service providers… this wait time will tell. Ive been apart of other games when DDOS and it can take days not hours

It really isn’t nice to use that IP, because it’s ArenaNet’s primary server. Use it as a workaround, but don’t use it permanently because it defeats the purpose of the CDN and only further stresses ArenaNet.

The current problem is that the CDN they’re using is basically down. Since GW2 can’t retrieve the build information, it’s reporting a connection error. 64.25.41.2 is ArenaNet’s own server and what the CDNs connect to. You’re not actually supposed to use this server as it defeats the purpose of the CDN.
You shouldn’t have any problems logging in if you can read these forums, for NA at least. EU goes through different login servers.
For NA, these should work:

blood ruby should have been a ring not an accessory. at any rate. petrified wood in ember bay and blackice earring in bitterfrost will get you the stats you want. As will said, I dont think you can get these newer stats in fractals but not 100 percent certain.

Ok so i have full sent of trinkets and rings that are Vipers, but its irritating me i cant get a second ear ring, i have one blood ruby ear ring… so where / how can obtain another ear ring with vipers states … as these are not in fractals/ wvw only obtainable in HOT content???

Crafting is beyond a joke it used to be a key feature, now you must craft a item to craft a item to craft another item that is time gated

Game has more emphasis on min/ max even to require you to use a boss timer.
The gap between casual and hardcore has become huge … Raid seems to be the priory focus.
What was supposed to be a “competitive pvp” game – Is very poor.
Community is split – there are a small number of hardcore players, and a huge amount of players that just log in to do dailies and thats it, these used to be active guild members…
To many bad irreversible decisions have been made over the years, its too far gone. You either accept it/ move on or as i suspect wait for a better game to come along.
It frustrates me, that to do / get anything cool in rewards you need to either use youtube or dulfy for answers, this is mainly due to the really poor explanations in game.
I find it impossible to craft anything decent or get rewards via achievement without using a third party.
I tend to come back and do the new Living World realses, then try the achievements… then stop playing as it feels like a chore to look up each achievement … it becomes the opposite of fun.
All they ever do is nerf everything until everything is equally as crap, boring and uninteresting, they way they balances classes in GW2 has got to be the least imaginary of all games, just nerf every thing and call it dull wars 2.
I’ve never seen a development team try to actively kill their own game. It’s actually astonishing to watch.
Not development, its the opposite… all they do is restrict / lessen / take away.
More class nerfs, just make use all hit like pandas with a stick …. zzz
Prob is not burnout etc, problem is as suggested stop playing for a while… i have been doing that, but what i mean is that after each break im getting bored fast, the game isnt holding me any longer. And instead of appreciating the positives of the game, as i used to after a break. Now i cant stop remembering the reasons that i have taken so many breaks, and think that if ive needed to take sooo many breaks then really im not enjoying it. Ye i like the stories, but it feels like every new zone, every new achievement, every new skin/wep etc are all just the same thing, kind of rinse and repeat.
And like said there is only so many time, you can do boring grindy achievements, then they make new content with the same kinda thing…. and in the end there is only achievements left to do, as i find the maps get boring fast and have no interest in the cosmetic ladder of needing x amount of new zone materials over and over again…
I love the game played since release, ive had a few breaks along the way, always come back.
But im getting more and more bored faster, and the new content is not holding my attention. It just seems like everything else, a new skin for what we have already got….
So much unhappiness, sadness, depression, doom and despair in the world right now. We need a glimmer of happiness, warm our hearts a little and bring the Wintersday festival sooner rather than later.

The meta shows 4x support classes, and 2 condition. So must i play condition?
Could someone point me in the direction of a good PVE build to tackle HOT and LS2+ 3, play solo random groups, so dps/ survival is needed.
And in Guild Wars 1 obviously guilds were there only to war with each other… because every single guild in Guild Wars 1 was doing GvG and in that GvG every player of that guild was participating. /s
Guilds are there to form communities, they are there so you make friends and do content together. That’s what a guild in an MMORPG should always be first and then some mechanical gimmick.
As for war between guilds, you can take a guild team, with the guild logo and name, and play through the PVP seasons, there are extra rewards for competing teams.
Also, there are a lot of guild raids forming in WvW that are looking to fight other guild raid teams in 20vs20 (or more) battles.
There is plenty of “Guild” in the game, and plenty of “War”
blah “guild” in this game is entirely a gimmick, with very little need for the guild to work together for next to useless rewards vs time and effort… how much content relies on guild team work.. bar raids that 80% of the game base doesnt play due to elitism. As you say the guild is there for communication for friends, thats it.
War – your only suggestion is pvp in a team, thats a team… you can hardly use this as a collective for the need of a guild.
- There are no “guild wars” why should the game be called something that it doesn’t even contain, i dont get it. Sonic the hedgehog was in Sonic 2, Super Mario bros 2 contained Mario, even and this may blow your mind Diablo 3 has Diablo in it
As i see it a present:
“Guild” Very little purpose or present to be in a guild, are they worth the time/ resource investment?
“Wars” – where are they?
“Guild Wars” – Nah guilds dont fight guilds

I like the story, the zone though just feels like another rise and repeat but ice and not fire.
- In short the experience to lvl 80 PVE is great, as if the game was designed for this. Then they thought we need more, we can bolt on a wvw and a pvp, both very broken very boring, repetitive unbalanced miss managed, neglected. Then they feel forced to release new content to try and keep people happy, mean while the broken parts get left broken. All we get are skill nerfs, constantly. Cant we all get buffs? It real is quite depressing to login and see your class has been made less powerful, carry on reading and most classes are nerfed. why not just leave all with auto attack, they are so paranoid about balance that instead of making awesome skills and new build, they nerf nerf and strip it all away.
and dont get me started with Raids – what a complete waste of employment – it must be least played content of GW2, followed by Fractals that have got 1 new room in 4 years and that was pieces of other fractals put together….
I just joined new squads to get them done … simple
