i’ve noticed that from demos of expansion as new elite, or it doesn’t show above the skill bar or it shows/work for 1-2 not more.
kinetic bar shows-does as intended (gain charges when using toolbelt skills. 5 charges gain superspeed and quickness)
in wvw, in fights, Adaptive Armor should go to 5 in 5 seconds with all the aoe and hits you are getting… so…
i wonder, does it work? or it doesnt show proper icon-stacks above skill bars?
or internal cooldown is not 1s as said in tooltip?

i’m speaking to everyone… players : read this post. anet: do something.
how some classes spam so different conditions in so little time is really hilarious
how some classes with auto attack give 3 conditions (reapers with scepter)
or 2 conditions with mace – axe of rev or scepter of mesmers.
1 single condition spam with some can’t be a threat in some scenarios (wvw – pvp)
but if every time reapers some chill -> give 3 bleeding.
but if every rev spamming 1 with auto attack gives 2 torment and poison
etc etc
only reapers and mesmers can remove boons with some skills-traits-weapons.
at the end that nice rune durability only present in wvw, resistance is still 100% immunity to any condition…
so a cripple-chill-imob-burning-bleeding-confusion – whatever kind of condition is simply useless in some fights-blobs-roaming.
or gives some classes vs other classes no chance at all.
i still suggest that resistance boon should work as -33% condition duration.
and give every class in the game to play condi or power – not only one single build.

Adaptive armour doesn’t reduce condi duration, but rather condi damage.
So hoelbrak runes, mecha legs and food will reduce condi duration by 40% (73% crip/chill/imob).
mmmm interesting… so its better to use 1-2 gyros (with superspeed and stability) and take mecha legs – antitoxin (or hoelbrak) and food (sweat bun for example) …
never read it well… thought it was -20% condi duration… not -20% condi damage… interesting interesting… :P

the general issue is always the same…
POPULATION BALANCED also known as: have relatively “fair” fights – chance of winning and loosing.
result:
a) numbers (have 20-50 ppl in every map) blobbing – and no chance at all of beeing competitive in 10… singular or not singular skills… numbers always wins. simple and easy.
b) Hot: not only in singular classes or unbalance in general of power creep or condi classes and spam. no, even the simple stupid shield generator.
20-50 ppl need to build 2 shield generators to protect 2 catas on a t3 keep defended by 5 max 10 ppl? its a joke…. really…
so this linking system just shows up the limit as always.
same limits as tier 8-9 where Fow or Underworld or Vabbi or Whiteside ridge etc had better moments as not much better moments.
so sometimes was 30 ppl (wow!) vs 5-10 not more
same issue as now… POPULATION BALANCE and COMPETITIVE FIGHTS.
30 vs 10 isnt competitive.
50 vs 20 isnt competitive.
30 vs 25 is competitive.
60 vs 50 is competitive.
5 vs 3 or 5 vs 7 is competitive not 5 vs 1 etc etc etc

i used 4 traits before hot and used rocket boots as bombs as elixir gun, aka, had 1050+120 range on pistol as 1200 on elixir gun as a chase or escape skill (rocket boots) before Hot… as a kitten melee weapon (that worked and was reliable in a lot of cases)
slick shoes nerf it to only 1 knock?
because to much knockdowns? with a 60 radius? and 40s cd?
you are telling a part of the truth…
gadgets are simply not so powerful than a “simple” alchemy traits with 409 and hgh and everything else that removes conditions – group support from eg etc etc etc
gadgets are perfect for single player but there is only one trait that gives sense to them, not a full line or even if not traited alchemy u still have a blast 4th skill with eg or a 5 cleanse field as water field with mortar 5 as elixirs boons aoe… so…
mortar 1500? its like the old nades 1500 trait… a telegraph!
when other 1200-1500 (look only at longbow of dh or ranger) can hit – pierce – stun etc.
get example of Lightning Flash teleport to location, judge of intervention 1200 range with damage to close gap – shadosteps here and there – gs leap (rush-etc etc etc)
with pistol-pistol or pistol-shield, the only way of closing gap is to rely on a magnet of toolkit, but oh right, if you have a plant in front of you, wont pull someone nearly close to u…. or to have rocket boots, and hope u dont get imobilized – stunned when flying…
and well… you are speaking to someone that gets tips from metabattle.com then as engi goes around with no alchemy line… no elixir s… no 20948 might etc etc etc

goot to see that explosive trait has been “reworked” and “touched”.
pistol is nice but that 900 range really its a big issue! with all those dh rangers necro aoe from 1200… to say some of the classes.
where is the 1050 old range of pistol 1-2-3 skills? as the 1200 range of elixir gun?
we arent speaking of pvp or pve, we are speaking of wvw…
try getting close to dh longbow or rangers lb/staff or necros staff, with 1200 range they have
if u get close they leap-evade (druid staff 3rd skill or f2 of dh or cc spam of necros-reapers) and with 900 range is impossible to get again ….

why not “rework” the trait “Short Fuse” in giving dont know protection-resistance? or similar as juggernaut trait gives might and stability?

think if the boon protection wasn’t -33% damage but -100%. it would be broken, right? do you follow what im saying?
rune of durability is the worst rune ever in the wvw scenario with so much foods and armors and trinkets with +% boon duration… etc etc etc
i’m saying that resistance should be reworked.

hello all… and first of all Swagger, I read a lot of your posts and found them always interesting and intelligent… and explained well (not like me that i rage i must learn)
to be honest, I know the feeling of some classes (on top thiefs-mesmers-warrior) ista bursts of 2-3k hits and for 5-10 times in less than 10-15s…
i wouldnt speak of armor and vitality.
the only rule that Wvwers knew was “3k armor is a must in wvw” otherwise at your risk if less… (well 2,8-2,9k-3k)
after the rework of traits and with all new stats combination-jewels-armor-weapons and new runes with the Elite spec in the middle, now 3k armor is useless.
all combined with those bursts in 10s of 6-8 skills in a row
personally when i see on me and from other players those numbers, comes to mind as engi when 3 years ago was using dual pistol and rampage armor-jewels, and had like 2,3k armor… and 17-18k vitality…)

david.5974 you got the point. if its synergy or utility, in one way or the other, rocket boots is a “not useful skill anymore” as before – core engi or scrapper or however you want to play. as some kits (bombs at first) they got practically pointless on using them (roaming or blobbing or however kind of gamestyle)
surely more useful (bombs) in pvp where you MUST fight. but put in wvw and there its a wasted kit. (for this or that reason)
thats why i think that a simple “tweak” on rocket boots skill as: add an evade of 1s and a break stun would make it viable in some builds. and give a sense to that skill.

why do not add to Rocket Boots a “evade” or “break stun”?
i get example from “lightning reflex” of survival skills. it removes imobilize (as rocket boots remove chill-cripple-imob) but its a break stun, its an evade, it deals damage
i would say rocket boots is poor compared to that…
adding an “evade” would work with scrapper stability on evade.
adding a break stun factor would be still useful in pistol-shield as chase or escape skill (as it did before)
even increasing a 5-10s recharge would be fine – still a blast – to use wisely.
Rocket Kick: why not adding a “stability” on successfull hit?

traps…. why dragonhunter and rangers have a X damage in traps, while thiefs traps 0 direct damage? if anet you put a 100 damage on each traps, end of Ghos Thief . with no kind of hard work on changing the game mechanics and perma stealth.
get a ranger full condition, with trapper runes, a trap deals 100 damage, and its enough to reveal…. simple….

shield generator should get away for me too.
why? because a 30 group ppl (organized or casual) will eventually get a tower defended by lower force – acs or not acs.
but putting down 3, makes useless to defend (or try to or stuck a 30 ppl group for 20 minutes to a tower)
but hot and all wvw mechanics now is a train to attack attack? right?

-shrapnel: the 15% chance is really low – really not worth it as Gm trait. is that single target? aoe?
-evasive powder keg and thermobaric detonation stacks well with soothing detonation as with shocking speed – but 10s? i think could be a bit less..
Firearms:
-skilled marksman: add the +150 range for the pistol and elixir gun? (as promised baseline?)
-juggernaut: why in every way stops stacking might? mostly “blocks” to 6-7.
Inventions:
-amr: 120s cooldown? i think its to much
-energy amplifier and bunker down where perfect together – now not more
-bunker down is a mine, why for example have a higher cooldown and remove 1 boon?
Alchemy:
-transmute: still converts 1 stack of the incoming condition and leave the others of the same condition on you
Tools:
-reactive lenses cooldown hasnt been corrected as the utility skill – why?
Scrapper:
-expert examination has no cooldown, nice, but why only “limited” to stunning and dazing? we have tons of launch-knockbacks-stuns-daze that could trigger that trait…
put like a internal cooldown and on interrupt?

we all know that the cc spam in wvw is still to much.
i think its a good tweak on dh using meditrapper builds –
they tweaked even the perma spam of cc on engineer with gyros (removing totally the daze with gyros explosion).
i agree totally on druid having to much healing-mobility in the same time, as warriors have to much sustain and damage both of them without sacrificing nothing.
but hot introduced all that – blocks-reflects-invuln states-evades-healing-damage all together.

but REALLY, WHY resistance is a 100% reduction? a immunity?
i simply find it too powerful as it is now, make it a 50% reduction of damage – that would give some conditions somewhere – especially the soft CC (imobilized – cripple – chill)
resistance like it is now, its like the old stability.
get a blob, perma resistance (with all the others boons too) → steamroll whatever comes in front of you….

yeah i agree in raids and in pve, but this is Wvw section, not “general” not “pve” so…

you get 10 people, commander stats, rune of durability, signet of ispiration, 2 rev boon +50% duration,
result?
30s+ of resistance, (with all the others – protection – regen – swiftness – might – fury)
if durability 4th bonus is 25% when struck give protection-regeneration-resistance(1s) aoe
with 25s of cd, and should arrive to 15?18? seconds at the most? why then see 10 group people with 30s+???
something isnt tuned properly then….
at the moment in some group builds there isnt any weakness (i dont care if its from metabattle.com or did from whatever player).
2 groups same way? fight last 34 hours and no one dies,
this assuming no one faints in front of a keyboard after a continued 34 hours!
how do you stop them? with wells? so need a group of 10 necros wells? please we need other solutions.

i agree totally! anet cares a bit of pvp (so fast and easy took away so many amulets because “OP” – well maybe they should have done some calculation before removing them on "how will change if we put in this block while damaging skills – invulnerability skills – leaps that heals for 2k aoe 5 ppl in a berserk build – perma stealth – perma leaps – perma blocks etc)
and all those things had a huge impact in wvw – were same bugs of day 1 are still there, only added Cor passing gates too!!!
i said in more posts, anet got a sad road that will gave benefits in short terms to players (the famous DPS!) then when those players understand well that in some scenarios (wvw and pvp) is a mess, loose customers.
(we all have a list of skills that are insane – leaps of druid 1200 range with staff heals 2k in a berserk build – what??? – gun flame that hits from 5k to 12k – Cor of rev same – etc etc, and the “old traits” have become useless in those scenarios – take example on old engineer shield aka useless with those long cooldowns compared to everything else etc etc)

1400 days of Gw2, nearly 4 years, and some parts of the game are completely forgotten by Anet.
can see it from how Anet is moving everytime when it does some “corrections” in patches
there was a lot of stuff not working from day 1
instead of fixing , more broken things get added every day.
4-5 skills that passed through gates or walls from day 1, now 6-7 (with the same 4-5 of day 1)!
catapults – rams – etc built in weird positions (same as day 1)
many complains on foods “condition duration”
but you can have reduced condition duration in traits
as everykind of food (steal life on crit hits – gain health a second – etc etc etc)
that even more breaks the game
(did you know that food steal life can deals more damage than an auto attack?!?)
wanted to “bring up again wvw with this linking”
result?
servers identity dead
no honor and pride at all (that was more or less dead from day 10)
everyone can move server with a few gems/golds
free insert in the game of skill lag where basically at EU peaktime is 1-10s lag every skill
from a PPT Wvw -> trasformed into a PPK Wvw.
but if you arent 200 (and enemies 50) – will never go into fights!
roaming allowed only if you are in 4-5 characters that have at least
2-3 stealth and/or 2-3 leaps-evades and/or 2-3 invulnerability skills-traits
and of course rune of perplexity or rune of durability!
before Hot some classes had access to 1-2 stealth or 1-2 leaps evades or 1-2 invulnerability
now every class has 2-3 stealth or 2-3 leaps or 2-3 block-invulnerability (skills – weapons skills – traits)
if not all of them!
insert of Hot with
or make you invulnerabile/blocking/reflect
or make you deal an insane damage
or ridiculos cooldowns of skills
of course everything AOE (3-5 targets)
introduced for 4 Pve maps without thinking of what have happened in Pvp and Wvw!

changes or not changes of the rune, doesn’t solve the problem on how Confusion work.
i said it in more threads… before was on skill use, and useful for pvp and wvw. no damage vs mobs in pve, so Anet decided to put damage on use and damage over time.. overtime? no way.
change confusion as it was before or for example: 100 on skill use, 10 or 20 or 30 (definitely less than 50%) over time. over time as now cant work!

will you consider a few suggestions for quick balancing?
1) boon “resistance”, introduced it with the increased conditions max stack, perfect.
but can’t work for long in that way, not with boon increased duration from mesmer-revenant-etc, as settings of armor-runes-sigils-trinkets-weapons.
in wvw a cripple-chill-imob (soft cc) was perfect vs the old stability system to slow down this group. now nothing can stop them. consider “resistance” working as “protection”? a 33% condition damage reduction? or similar?
2) condition “confusion”: simply “wrong” how it works in pvp-wvw.
100 damage on skill use, 200 overtime a second? lets say like 100 damage on skill use and 50 overtime a second
3) stealth and conditions damage that don’t trigger “reveal” state, why? that is a damage aswell, should trigger a “reveal”

hello. i come from Fissure of Woe. and before linking with whatever server, never had lag issues (in our low tiers 7-8-9) basically never had 100 people each server in each map and never saw and never had fights 50 vs 50.
linking will be permanent?
well Anet, its the time you do something to sort out this LAG
can’t even press 1 and if you try to do do a skill, a swap attunement, a swap weapon, you find yourself dead because it triggered 5s later .
this isn’t the way of handling problems.
by the way Anet, does someone of your staff plays wvw after linking? do you know there is a lag problem?

in pvp im still using “old” rabid condi set up with firearms-tools-scrapper.
pistol-shield-medic gyro-bombs (yes bombs!) – bulwark gyro-elixir gun-sneak gyro/crate/mortar kit depends on my mood
and shield (with its so high cooldowns) still works as bombs works too, because in pvp YOU MUST FIGHT. so little classes use 29348348 stealth – 21941721479214 leaps – 2194721 shadowstep. and escape from whatever kind of fight (see wvw classes and builds)

said this, i find ridiculos that in wvw shield is… USELESS! so high cooldown compared to the same effects (blocks and reflect) of hammer.
hammer is melee yes. hammer is front line or similar yes. but with a leap of 1000 u can get in fight or escape fights. while on other settings (pistol-rifle-shield-etc) only way of having mobility is to bring rocket boots
true that hammer reduce uses of kits, but it makes the gamemode much simple than old engineer with kits.
i would like to see lower cooldowns of shield and higher cooldowns of block-reflects of the hammer skills

resistance should work as protection.
protection = -33% damage
resistance = -33% if not -50% condition damage-duration
simple and easy
(then with some foods you will still get -53% or – 70% so ….)

thank Timelord.8190 to add those things. (ranger often gets Random obstruct on projectiles as the imobilize bug everywhere as lag)
what i wrote is a partial set of broken things that me and some wvwer see from 4 years. and instead of fixing things, they add more broken stuff.
flamethrower not using it anymore – true – but before Hot i used it often and killed so many rams outside – nice uh?
but seems only a few cares of the game on how it SHOULD be.
